Psychopathy is not a formal clinical diagnosis but a personality construct assessed using the Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R), a 20-item scoring system developed in the 1970s-1980s. The PCL-R measures traits including superficial charm, grandiosity, pathological lying, lack of remorse, shallow affect, parasitic lifestyle, impulsivity, irresponsibility, and criminal versatility. A score of 30 or above in the United States indicates psychopathic tendencies, while the UK uses a cutoff of 25. Key differentiating features include callousness, shallow affect (inability to feel genuine emotions), and manipulativeness. While all psychopaths meet criteria for antisocial personality disorder, only about one-third of those with ASPD are true psychopaths. The assessment requires administration by qualified professionals, and scores are used for research and forensic purposes rather than clinical diagnosis.

Gypsy Manson Versus Shirilla The Killa (PCL-R)Ajouté :
Okay, we got to talk about this. I think a lot of you guys are giving too much credit to Mackenzie Shirilla. And what I mean by that is a lot of people think that she is a psychopath. In my opinion, Mackenzie is a spoiled brat with a lack of impulse control. And then of course, anyone being under the influence of drugs, it's like what is impulse control? It's literally non-existent depending on which drug you're taking.
Now, as far as being a psychopath, Natalie to be determined. And now, what's even more interesting to me is how they determine if someone is a psychopath or not. It's actually a test. It's a checklist that was developed in the 1970s and the 1980s. And being a psychopath isn't actually even a diagnosis. Nothing like narcissistic personality disorder or antisocial personality disorder. Those are diagnoses. Psychopath, no. This is all legit and for research and entertainment purposes only. I do not have a degree in clinical or forensic psychiatry. And for those of you who do, let me know where I went wrong. Give me your opinion in the comment section. Most so-called psychopaths have never been formally diagnosed and may not meet the criteria.
But when it comes to Gypsy Rose Blanchard, in my opinion, I think she scores very high on this checklist.
Calling someone a psychopath has universal negative connotation.
Psychopath is another one of our words that is growing meaningless from misuse and overuse. Similar to words like narcissist or racist or white supremacist. We are becoming more and more immune to these words because of how often they are thrown around as insults. When it comes to Gypsy, it's not an insult, hon. It's the truth. Let me go off my notes for just a second.
Psychopathic features are forever evolving with human study. Some included are callous disregard for the rights of others and propensity for predatory behavior without remorse. Psychopaths charm and exploit others for their own gain, and that's a fact. They lack empathy, honesty, and a sense of responsibility, and they manipulate and con others with little regard for anyone's feelings. Some become violent, and some don't. Psychopathy falls on a spectrum just like anything else, and currently there's a higher rate of psychopaths amongst men than women. But, I personally believe that is because women go undetected. They're better at masking. What you see on the screen is the original version of the Hare Psychopathy Checklist, but we're going to use the revised version.
Okay, so this is the revised version of the Psychopathy Checklist, and don't confuse psychopathy with antisocial personality disorder. One key difference is that in psychopathy, they have that grandiose sense of self-worth and no empathy. It's based on a score, and it only should be considered valid if it's administered by somebody suitably qualified, unlike myself. The highest score someone can get is a 40, and that's if they score twos all the way down. Now, in the United States, if somebody scores above a 30, we consider them to have psychopathic tendencies. In the United Kingdom, their's cut off is 25, so we're more lenient. Something else to keep in mind is that all individuals diagnosed with psychopathy generally meet the same criteria for antisocial personality disorder, but only about a third of those are true psychopaths. Now, three key differences that come with psychopathy but not with ASPD is the callousness, the shallow affect, and the manipulativeness. That's strictly on the psychopathy side. And some of you may be thinking, "Shallow affect, what is that?" It's the inability to feel the full depth, resonance, and complexity of genuine human emotions. And because of this shallowness, psychopaths do not feel emotions like remorse, empathy, or deep attachment. But, they are highly adept at observing, mimicking, and simulating these emotions. Now, what they can do is put on dramatic, short-lived displays of emotions when it serves for a manipulative purpose, acting. In fact, their specialties are feigned sadness or intense anger. Uh let's get this checklist. All right, this is what we're going to do. I'm personally going to be scoring Gypsy Manson. You guys can score McKenzie and then put in the chat what you scored her as. We have the column of zero for definitely not present, one somewhat present, and then two definitely present. The first thing is glibness, superficial charm. Gypsy, definitely present. Egocentricity, grandiose sense of self-worth, definitely present. Okay, we got proneness to boredom, low frustration tolerance, definitely present.
Pathological lying and deception, yeah, definitely there. Conning, lack of sincerity, yep, number two. Lack of remorse or guilt, number two. Is this going to be a full send 40 on this time?
Cuz last time I think I scored her at like a 35. Lack of affect or emotional depth, definitely present. Parasitic lifestyle, definitely present. Short tempered, poor behavioral controls, I think I don't know, you know, what do you guys one or two on that one? History of sexual relations, definitely present.
History of early behavior problems, somewhat present. Impulsivity, definitely present. Irresponsible behavior, definitely. Frequent marital relationships, definitely. History of juvenile delinquency, somewhat present.
Revocation of conditional release, no, she made it through her parole, so we'll get a zero on that one. Failure to accept responsibility for own actions, definitely present. And then it just ends with many type of offense, yeah. I mean, she went to prison for killing her mom, definitely present. Did I skip this one, lack of realistic long-term plans?
Definitely present. This girl won't even go on a job interview or make a resume.
Okay, I think I went a little easier on her this time around, but I scored at a 32, and here in the United States, that meets the criteria. So, yeah, this was just something that I found to be interesting and I wanted to share with you guys. Gypsy is the real psychopath between her and McKenzie. Comment if you disagree. And what would you score Sherri the killer on this checklist?
