They want the islands for themselves, not Filipino independence. General Frederick Funston devises an elaborate trap. He poses as a prisoner of war surrounded by fake Filipino soldiers who are actually American troops in disguise. They march into the mountain stronghold where the president waits unsuspecting. The captured Americans are brought before him as a prize. Funston drops the act.
