This commentary highlights the peak absurdity of selective international justice, where legal warrants are treated as political tools rather than moral imperatives. It exposes the performative gap between local activism and the cold reality of geopolitical interests that shield allies from accountability.

The Leader We Need: Mamdani Calls On Trump To Arrest Netanyahu
Added:I will not be welcoming Benjamin Netanyahu or any other war criminals when they come to this city.
>> New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is once again making headlines and pissing off all the right people for having moral clarity. So, in this video, I'm going to show you what he just recently put out, as well as the reactions to it, both positive and negative, and I will debunk some of the negative reactions because they are so unhinged and insane.
First off, here's what he put out last night. This is in reference to fact that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who is going to be at the UN General Assembly in September, and there were questions whether or not Mamdani could actually arrest Netanyahu as there is an ICC arrest warrant out for Netanyahu for war crimes. Well, here is his reaction to that.
>> Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal, the architect of a horrific genocide against the Palestinian people. He is responsible for the killing of more than 73,000 people.
For the maiming of tens of thousands of children as those who survive undergo amputation without anesthesia.
For the targeting [music] of neonatal hospitals and maternity care centers, denying newborns even the chance to live. For the countless people he starved as he blocked food and humanitarian aid from reaching them.
For the gunning down of hundreds of aid workers and journalists.
And just last month, the UN confirmed [music] that Palestinian children continue to be deliberately targeted and killed by Israeli armed forces more than eight months after the so-called ceasefire.
The list goes on and on. All of us we as Americans pay for the bombs that do the killing.
>> [music] >> There is a reason the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for his arrest.
As human beings, we have spent generations building a shared understanding that there are crimes so great they offend all of humanity.
Anyone with their eyes, with their heart, [music] with their conscience should recognize the devastation he has wrought and understand that he belongs before a court of law.
As I've said, I agree with the ICC that Benjamin Netanyahu should be arrested and tried for his crimes.
As I do for anyone else charged by the ICC.
My administration has reviewed every avenue available under applicable law to determine whether New York City could execute the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant if Benjamin Netanyahu came here.
It is clear that we do not have the independent legal authority to enforce this warrant. The federal government, however, does. And I call on them to join the ICC and execute this warrant.
And I want to be equally clear.
Benjamin Netanyahu is not welcome in New York City. Nor is any other war criminal at large. While we cannot end the genocide on our own, >> [music] >> we can decide whether our silence will become another weapon.
And we can examine every tool we have to defend the humanity and dignity of all people.
That is my commitment to you.
>> All right. So, while Mammadov does not have the authority to arrest Netanyahu, he is calling on the US government, on Donald Trump to go and do it. I'll get to Trump's reaction to this in just a minute here. As well as some other details around the ICC and why Mammadov is not able to execute this himself. But, first first some positive reactions before we just a pallet cleanser before we get into the some of the more insane things.
Here is um Adam writing, this is the kind of moral clarity we need from every elected Democrat.
Mammadov really has set the bar in terms of what we should be expecting from our political leaders. And not just in the US, but worldwide. The kind of moral clarity we should be expecting from the people that that represent us.
And it's clear that if you look at polling, and we'll get to some polling in a bit here.
Uh it's clear where people stand. People are are more aware than ever of the mass atrocities being committed and are against their government's support of those mass atrocities.
Our political leaders are not exactly a mirror image of that and still continue to largely support the genocidal Israeli government in their ongoing genocide.
Uh Abu Baker Abed writing here, this is a Palestinian journalist writing, I've I have to be honest about this. I've never expected in my entire life to hear an American politician or mayor speak this bluntly and vociferously against Israel.
While I hope he uses every power in other related aspects, I'd love to thank him for this sincere powerful message.
And Amna A. Waseem writing here, Mondani, ever conscious of his role as a leader and in legitimizing the broader democratic socialist movement, has set the standard for 2028 Democratic presidential candidates by flatly declaring the federal government has the authority to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu.
This, you know, I'm I'm going to leave this here for now cuz this could be a whole discussion in itself, but it really is we got to be getting to thinking about where things are going to be in a couple years in terms of a Democratic primary, who may be leading a leading candidate there or leading candidates in that, and those candidates that are planning to maybe run need to really think about their position here.
Because this position or or whatever the position is on Israel, I think it is going to be a deciding factor for a lot of people about whether or not they can trust that politician.
Are you going to continue business as usual, continue propping up a genocidal Israeli government, or are you going to acknowledge reality?
That clearly the majority of voters are al- already aware of.
But this is where we get to some of the more insane reactions. First, Mike Huckabee writing, "Would be easy to say New York mayor is just an ignorant bigot, but he is not dumb. He's an evil anti-Semite who deliberately lies about serious things like genocide, {quote} {unquote}, to stroke Jew hate. If anyone should be arrested, it's the mayor of New York for incitement. New York City should be ashamed.
Uh like, you know, what's amazing when I have to de- what when I I am going to debunk this now in just a second is I know 95% of you are already well aware of how much this is, the idea of the idea that he's lying about genocide. I mean, like I get the UN declared a genocide. They further did again later on. Israel's continued to commit a genocide.
Not to mention leading genocide scholars organizations says Israel's committing a genocide in Gaza. I mean, I don't have to explain this at this point. I've done countless videos on this very topic, but it's just amazing the level of people like this will try and get away with and think that there are enough people who are dumb enough that believe them and maybe there are. I mean, this has how many likes on this tweet? 17,000. So, you know, a lot of those I assume are bots, as is most of Twitter, but regardless, there are people that actually believe that Mondani is a hateful person as opposed to somebody who was just acknowledging reality.
But that gets us to this incredible reaction on Fox News. Fox anchor asks guest if Mondani is one of the main faces of Jewish hate in the US.
Let me play this and I'm going to debunk something that is brought up in the response here.
>> Look, look, I've been asking this question since he really started trying to walk this back in the last 48 hours or so, like he doesn't have the authority to arrest not to Netanyahu. Um is he fast becoming though one of the main faces of Jewish hate in this entire country because he keeps saying these things?
>> So, I think that he is. This is a Mordecai moment for the Democrat Party.
They have an opportunity to wage unequivocal war against anti-Semitism within their own ranks, but so far they have failed to do so. Only 33% of Democrats support Israel according to a Gallup poll that was taken this year.
That is a slide of 14% from last year.
So they're tracking in all the wrong direction. So when he Okay, let me just start I mean equating equating criticisms of an Israeli government's genocide to all Jewish people I mean again, this is absurd. The idea that you can't criticize Israel at all because what that means you're being anti-Semitic that that's it's stupid. I shouldn't have to explain that. That part is obvious.
But he brings up a stat here about Gallup polling from earlier this year about how Democrats their support for Israel fell 14 points. They're going in the wrong direction. So let's bring this up. This is what he's referencing here.
So it actually went up a percentage point in the over the [laughter] last year which is bizarre. This is again favorable views of Israel and Palestine territories by party. So we are looking at thoughts about Israel is in the green. Palestine territories is in the blue. So it is at 33 it was at 33 in 2025. It's now at 34.
Again, not sure why it went up by one.
But okay, there was a there was a 14-point drop from the year earlier. So 47 to 33. Okay.
Well, how about we take a look at Republicans?
Because even though it is way higher than it should be there is actually a 15-point drop from where Republicans were a year ago to where they are now.
So using his own words, they're trending in all the wrong directions. But the reality is no, they're people are trending in the direction of knowledge.
Even Republicans I you know, not a majority >> [laughter] >> but there are more people more Republicans who are more aware of this than were before and independents I mean all right there with Democrats in terms of falling off their support for Israel.
So, this is again an acknowledgement of the genocide that Israel has committed, the support from the US government both from Biden and now from Trump even more so. So, it's just that reality that people are aware of.
Oh, yeah. One last thing I actually want to share there on that point was this is more of an age thing. So, American sympathies in the Middle East situation by age. So, again if you look at at Palestinian our sympathies towards Palestinians is growing across the board while support for Israelis is dropping across the board. Of course, it's larger with 18 to 34. But, it's also the case with 35 to 54. As is the case even 55 and older.
So, across the board every single age Israel is now underwater.
All right.
Some more insane reactions. Dave Rubin here who's a conservative far-right wing commentator says he wants you to think he's going after Israel, but he's really going after America.
He should be kicked out of office, denaturalized, and sent back to Uganda.
So, what you notice from all of these responses from Republicans is that they're all incredibly bigoted.
This is yet another example of that. The Mike Huckabee was another example. I don't I'm not sure if you even pointed that out when I showed it to you.
But, I mean it it's it's insane. The idea of calling Mondani a a bigot who's stroking Jew hate just again trying to paint this uh mayor as somebody who you should be afraid of.
This is insane.
He's really going after America. I mean, this is a point that maybe you could make because Netanyahu is very much in control of Donald Trump.
Not that that can't be reversed.
>> [laughter] >> But, at this point it's hard to argue that Israel's not controlling the US government in some way. Maybe not directly, but definitely through through money and influence, just through general political influence. But yeah, again, there's not much to debunk here.
It's all sort of obvious.
Laura Loomer, who is a close ally, has been on Trump's plane with him, says ban Muslims from holding office in America.
I mean, can you imagine imagine the the reverse of a Laura Loomer, which doesn't exist, by the way.
There's no one There's no one on the left saying ban Jewish people from holding office in America. That person does not exist on the left. But this gets a pass because it's Muslims. When it comes to hatred towards Muslims, it is so much more accepted in political circles than any sort of hatred towards Jewish people. And by the way, neither should be accepted. But just to point out how disgusting this is, yet this is a close ally of Donald Trump. And she goes on for like paragraphs. It's not even worth it.
Randy Fine, here is a congressman.
Republican congressman just saying you are a Muslim terrorist. Again, just pure hatred.
AIPAC Tracker points out that Randy Fine has received a bunch of money from AIPAC, but I don't even think that's necessarily the reason. I just think Randy Fine is a bigoted piece of garbage, and this is just kind of the person he is. The money's just for for him just sort of a a bonus.
All right. Trump's reaction, which in contrast is appears tame because he's doesn't bring up the hatred of Muslims and Mumdani as the others do. But he did respond saying Netanyahu will not be arrested in any way, shape or form while in the United States of America. He's fighting against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which recently killed 52,000 innocent protesters and spent the last 47 years killing American soldiers and others. The only ones that should be arrested are the people that led Iran into this unprecedented spiral of death and destruction. I mean, you launched the attacks out of nowhere on them. But anyways, something that should have been dealt with years ago by previous presidents.
Okay, so they should be arrested, right?
Well, I I it's so weird to say this when the US and Israel killed Iran's supreme leader back in February.
You're going to arrest a dead body?
All right.
I mean, not to mention it is he showing up in New York City?
Like to point This is the what aboutism that is so bizarre to me. I'll get to another one later. Actually, I I may have taken out of this video. But But another conservative mentioned why isn't Mamdani going after Putin?
First of all, Mamdani does support the arrest of Putin cuz there is also an ICC arrest warrant out for Putin. But Putin is not showing up at the UN General Assembly.
So, there there isn't a discussion about that right now. The The The reason why there's a discussion about Netanyahu is because he's actually showing up in New York City.
So, this gets back to Mamdani's clip and the the reasons why he doesn't have the authority which appears to come down to this.
There appears to be no chance of federal law enforcement arresting Netanyahu in the near future. President Trump said on Monday that the Israeli leader, whose country is a long-time American ally, would not be arrested in the US in any way, shape, or form. The US is not a member of the International Criminal Court, which blunts the impact of the court's warrant. So, this likely has a lot to do with it. Though, of course, this is a federal government matter.
It's not the the matter of the NYPD. So, you can understand why Mamdani may not have the authority there. And that gets us to why some countries won't join the ICC. Hmm.
Based on the names, maybe you can guess why.
The US, China, India, Russia, and Israel don't want to be a part of the International Criminal Court.
Does it have something to do with their international crimes? Maybe, maybe not.
I don't know. But the US, which has been involved in major conflicts since the court's creation, has abstained from membership seeking to prevent the tribunal from being used to prosecute Americans. Of course, going to this quote, there remains fear of actually being investigated by the court for the commission of atrocity crimes given the military projection of both countries. I I think by both countries they're talking about Israel and the US regionally and or globally and fear of being prosecuted for political rather than evidence-based reasons, said David Schaffer, a former US ambassador and a chief negotiator of the statute that established the court, which is not I mean just not true. That it's always evidence-based reasons when it comes to what the ICC does.
Which is why they also had an arrest warrant out for Putin.
Which, worth noting, Biden welcomed.
Yet even though he welcomed it and also ordered the US to share evidence of the Russian war crimes with the ICC, even though again the US is not part of the ICC, when it came to Netanyahu all of a sudden Biden administration fundamentally rejects ICC warrant for Netanyahu.
So, they'll agree with some facts.
They won't agree with others.
Based on who they view as an ally.
Worth noting as well of course that continued to Donald Trump, US rejects legitimacy of ICC arrest warrant for Netanyahu and Gallant and that was from Mike Waltz set to become Donald Trump's national security advisor.
Last thing worth sharing here. This is Mamdani's reaction or speaking to Palestinian New Yorkers, which I think is really worth noting here because so few politicians actually acknowledge the existence of Palestinians that live in their districts or in their countries and their writings.
And here is somebody who's actually acknowledging them and speaking to their concerns.
>> Uh and when it comes to Palestinian New Yorkers who are disappointed, I understand it because we are talking about someone who has been charged with crimes against humanity. Someone who has visited this city on many an occasion and who has been welcomed by previous mayors. And I want to make it very clear that that welcome ends with me. I will not be welcoming Benjamin Netanyahu or any other war criminals when they come to this city. And I do believe that our federal government should join the International Criminal Court and ensure that there is accountability when it comes to crimes against humanity.
>> I think it's important not to worship political leaders too much. You know, we have to understand these are politicians and they're going to do things that maybe we don't agree with. And we don't maybe even have the full knowledge or or extent of what they know and what went behind that decision or whatever it is.
But with Mondaire, it is so hard not to hold this man up as a political hero. This is somebody who I have a hard time even trying to think of a comparison.
In terms of somebody who represents as many people as he does, as the sort of standing that he does, has the popularity that he does for the obvious reason that he's actually both delivering and on a local level in his city, but also delivering when it comes to his general political stances and the fact that he is somebody who believes in international human rights.
There's just no one else like him.
So, this really should be the bar for any future political leader, whether it's a mayor, whether it's a president, whether it's a prime minister in Canada, whether it's a premier, whatever it is.
This should be the person that you look to. The It should be like the Mondaire standard. Does he reach Does he or she reach the Mondaire standard when they're running? And at this point, it's hard to find anyone else who does. But let me know your thoughts below this video.
