Inside Out 2 contains numerous hidden Easter eggs that connect the film to Pixar's broader universe, including references to the studio's 28th feature film status, characters from other Pixar movies like Lenny from Toy Story and Fortown from Turning Red, and real-world cultural references such as the Apple 1984 commercial and the distracted boyfriend meme, demonstrating how animated films often embed subtle details that reward attentive viewers.

12 EASTER EGGS You MISSED In INSIDE OUT 2本站添加:
We lost Goofball Island. That means she could lose friendship and hockey and honesty and family.
>> Inside Out 2 is packed with Easter eggs that most of us completely missed on our first watch. From tiny background objects to deep Pixar history, here are 12 of the best things hiding inside the film.
>> Remember, if you touch them, they stay sad.
>> Oh, sorry. I I won't.
>> Right at the beginning of the film, Rally's playing hockey for the Fogghorns. Her jersey number is 28. Most people see it as a random number, but it's not random. Inside Out 2 is Pixar's 28th feature film. The animators intentionally put the movie's place in Pixar history onto Riley's back. Nobody noticed because why would we look twice at a jersey number, and that's why it works so well. Bing Bong, Riley's imaginary friend from the first film, sacrificed himself so Joy could escape.
The worst thing, Rally is no memory of him at all. He's gone, but Joy hasn't forgotten. On the little shelf beside her bed in the headquarters, there's a small origami figure built to look like him along with a tiny version of his rocket wagon. That's right, Joy kept him. She made a little paper version of him and put it right beside where she sleeps so he'd never be gone. It's one of the best, most emotional details Disney's ever created, and most of us walk right past it. When Sana says she can't even see Family Island anymore because Friendship Island has taken over, Joy gives her a pair of binoculars to help spot it in the distance. Those binoculars are special because they're Lenny, the small walking binocular toy from the first two Toy Story movies.
Lenny was one of Andy's toys who could see long distances and warn others about danger. So, yeah, he's doing the same job, but in a completely different movie. He doesn't speak, but he's definitely the same character sitting in Joyy's hands.
>> The manuals. You read the manuals.
>> Yeah.
>> So, you know the way back to headquarters.
>> As a teenage girl, Riley's bedroom walls look different compared to the ones we saw in the first movie. She is randomly removed the childhood decorations and put band posters on the wall. If you look closely, one of them is Fortown, the boy band from Pixar's Turning Red.
In that film, Fortown is a big international sensation that me and her friends are obsessed with. The fact that Riley has their poster in San Francisco bedroom means these two Pixar stories exist in the same world. Of course, it also confirms just how popular the band is. And I absolutely love the fact that Riley me both live in the same universe, listening to the same music completely unaware of each other. Before we carry on, quick challenge time. I've hidden three golden memory orbs somewhere in this video. Did you spot them? Drop the timestamps in the comments and let's see who catches all three. Okay, now back to the Easter eggs. When Riley and her new teammates go out for pizza after hockey camp, they order from a shop called Spinny's Pizza. It sounds like a random restaurant name, but if you do a little digging online, you'll realize it's a tribute to Carol Spinny, the man who performed Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street for decades before passing away in 2019. The director has spoken openly about how much Sesame Street influenced her career. And hiding Spinny's name on a pizza box was her quiet way of saying thank you to someone really special to her. When anxiety locks the original emotions inside a vault, the number on that vault is written in Roman numerals. A C X I I I.
Most people see it as just random detail, but C is 100, X is 10, and the three I's is a three, making it 1 3 with the A in front. That's A13. For those still confused, this number is the famous Pixar Easter egg that appears in every single Pixar film, referencing the classroom at the California Institute of Art, where many of the original Pixar animators trained. They hid it in Roman numerals this time, knowing it would be harder to spot, and yeah, it worked.

>> You are my map. Let's go. Lead on, mind map. Show me where we're going.
>> Okay. Only Locked away in the vault alongside the original emotions is Lance Slashblade, a video game character Riley had a crush on from a fighting game she used to play with friends. His early PlayStation style graphics, dramatic voice, and oversized sword make it obvious that he's Cloud Strife from the Final Fantasy franchise. It gets even better. Lance is voiced by Yong Ya, a voice actor who actually worked on the real Final Fantasy games. Pixar does Easter eggs differently. One of the best and most memorable moments from the first movie was the triple dunk gum commercial jingle stuck inside Anger's head. It was the perfect representation of the kind of annoying song that plays in your head on repeat whether you want it to or not. In Inside Out 2, the original emotions actually use the jingle as a tool, sending it back up to headquarters as part of their plan to get back. The song that was annoying in the first film becomes really useful in the second. When anxiety takes over Fort Pillow Town and appears on the big screen overlooking a crowd of workers, the whole setup is a direct parody of Apple's famous 1984 TV commercial. The ad introduced the Macintosh computer and it referenced George Orwell's dystopian novel featuring a giant face on the screen controlling a crowd until someone throws an object and destroys the screen. In Inside Out 2, a chair gets thrown at anxiety screen. And while most young viewers see it as just a dramatic moment, older viewers might recognize the reference. In one scene, we see anxiety workers have been drawing up potential disaster scenarios. If you look closely, you'll see that one of the images looks exactly like the famous distracted boyfriend internet meme. The one where the guy walking with his girlfriend turns to look at someone else while his girlfriend stares at him shocked. In the movie's version, the meme mirrors Riley's hockey situation with one player being chosen over another.
>> You want us to walk with you, >> mom and dad? With us in public, no thank you.
>> I'm on it. Nope, I'm fine.
>> As Joy narrates Riley's transition into teenhood, viewers can see scenes of her growing up. One of them shows Riley trying to put on a rainbow shirt that is now far too small for her, which tells us how much taller she is from the first movie. Riley actually wore the same shirt in the first movie, which is a nice way to tell viewers she's all grown up now. In one of the most emotional moments near the end of the film, Joy triggers a bunch of bad memories that have been buried and suppressed over the years. While thousands of them flooded through, one specific memory is shown clearly. Riley stealing her mom's credit card so she could buy a bus ticket and run away during the events of the first movie. It was one of her worst moments, and Joy had tried to hide it away.
Seeing it resurface here is the whole point of Inside Out 2. Riley's character isn't built from just good memories.
It's built from all of them. And those are 12 Easter eggs hiding in Inside Out 2. The film hits different every rewatch, and details just keep giving.
Which one surprised you the most? Drop it in the comments. And remember, we're almost at 400K subscribers. Hit that button because the 400,000 subscriber is getting a personal shout out in one of our upcoming videos. Don't miss it.
Thanks for watching. See you.
>> Okay, we got a group of cool girls at 2:00.
