City leaders toured the site as construction races ahead on the five-gate terminal that will bring travelers closer to downtown Mobile, the port, and Gulf Coast industry. It was part of the National Engineering and Public Works Roadshow, an initiative designed to show how infrastructure projects can shape the future of communities. And soon Mobile Mayor Stimpson Hear God has heads to Chicago for what he calls speed dating meetings with airlines like Delta, American, and Southwest pitching Mobile for more direct flights.
