Fairytale Short Film – 'Nature of the Soul'

[00:00:04][music] >> The wind blew softly in a cold and snowy land >> [music] >> where there was a girl whose soul was not all within her.

[00:00:16]It [music] was split between body and a pendant she wore.

[00:00:21]Separate, but always carried everywhere at every moment.

[00:00:26]>> [music] >> One day on a walk, it slipped off her neck and into the snow.

[00:00:32]But she instantly noticed and searched with desperation.

[00:00:37]>> [music] >> Upon finding the pendant, she sighed with relief.

[00:00:42]But it awakened [music] a fear that a part of her could be lost.

[00:00:48]An anxiety [music] grew with the awareness of her fragility.

[00:00:52]She felt little control and impending danger.

[00:00:57]So she [music] looked to the future [singing] with cards in and pulled the [music] moon, which confused her.

[00:01:04]Death, which frightened her.

[00:01:07]And the world, which intrigued her.

[00:01:11]She placed [music] the cards down and kept her necklace close.

[00:01:15]>> [music] >> That night, she arose from her bed in a sleeping state.

[00:01:23]With eyes closed, [music] she danced through the trees and wandered the woods.

[00:01:29]And though she thought she [music] was dreaming, she awoke under the moon whose light revealed that her neck was [music] bare and she was far from her pendant.

[00:01:41]On returning [music] home, nothing had changed.

[00:01:45]And she questioned how close it needed to be kept.

[00:01:51]The following morning, a strange [music] sound could be heard.

[00:01:54]Outside, the snow had melted and there had been a great harvest. [music] Beside it stood the reaper with more seeds to be sown.

[00:02:05]>> [music] >> They dug in the earth and he dropped in her pendant.

[00:02:10]And though she noticed, she knew to let go. [music] Then the world felt alive and she realized her connection [music] with the trees and the snow and the clouds and the birds. [music] The world was all one and she was still whole.

[00:02:32]For there is no true separateness [music] in the nature of the soul.
