To surrender it was to acknowledge subordination.

Life cannot exist in death's realm without being destroyed or simply because the queen of the dead is absolute.

The text suggests labor pains, though details are unclear, and crucially, they do what no one else in the underworld does. They sympathize."

[00:16:25]Moved by unexpected compassion. Archki girl offers reward. You may have whatever you wish. They point to the corpse. Give us that. Eroski girl realizes she's been outmaneuvered, but even the queen of death must honor her word. The kgara and Galattor remove Inana's body, sprinkle it with food and water of life. Inana returns from the dead, but resurrection has a price.
