A default judgment occurs when a defendant fails to appear in court to respond to a lawsuit, resulting in a court ruling against them without their input; this case highlights the importance of timely legal responses and the debate over implementing a statute of limitations for sexual assault cases to balance victim protection with preventing false accusations that could damage innocent individuals' reputations.

Fans Call for Boycott of Michael Film Because of JermaineAdded:
Willie D live.
>> What's up, family? Jermaine Jackson, one of the great Jackson thighs, has been ordered to pay a weird amount of money, fam, for a case that goes all the way back 38 years.
Yeah, fam. Yeah.
Jermaine Jackson got hit with a default judgment because a woman accused him of raping her back in 1988 and he never showed up to court to fight it. The hell?
Oh, fellas, let me let me appeal to y'all senses right quick.
We all know how egregious, how demonic, subhuman violating another person's body is, right?
If somebody accused you of RA, would you not show up to court to fight it?
Would you just be chilling and act like it never happened? Nobody never sent you a letter or any you got no notice. I do not understand that. A default judgment.
It ain't even about the money. It's about my reputation. Clearing my name.
Yeah, man. I couldn't do it. Yeah. So it says here, Jermaine Jackson has been ordered to cough up millions to his rape accuser apparently without ever stepping foot in court about the case. According to new docs, Rita Butler Barrett obtained a default judgment against Germaine for just over $6.5 million in damages and court costs years after she accused him of violently raping her in the spring of 1988. The amount also covers medical expenses Rita asserted she incurred. The wild thing is Michael Jackson's older brother apparently never ever responded to the lawsuit, hence the entry of the default judgment. Rita filed the lawsuit back in December 2023 under California's Sexual Abuse and Coverup Accountability Act, claiming that Germaine unexpectedly showed up at her in Cino, California home one day and violently raped her.
She claimed the assault lasted several minutes, but says Jermaine abruptly stopped and left her residence, leaving her traumatized.
Rita's lawyer says they were unable to track Germaine down to serve the suit, but ended up getting court approval to execute service via legal notice in the Los Angeles Times.
Now, you know that uh Jermaine, I guess many of you don't know, but Jermaine lives in California.
Uh, and even if he didn't, if something like that was written in a newspaper, even if it was in online, he would have absolutely gotten notice.
So, I'm not going to buy at all that he didn't know that he was served notice.
Uh, because something that big, a reporter, somebody is going to call.
It's a Jackson. It's one of the Jacksons. one of the greatest families that this country has ever produced, right? That the world has ever produced.
No way possible that something like that is going to go unnoticed. Somebody's going to pick up that phone and say, "Hey, man. Jermaine, say man, you know they in uh Los Angeles time. They got you in Los Angeles time, man. They talking about you did this to this girl." Wait a minute. And man got you got to answer that. Wait a minute. I know I didn't do it. You know, like something like that. You know, you know, you got Jermaine got that real soft voice like like Mike. So, I can't see him knowing of something like this and not doing something about it. But, but something has to be done about this.
1988, 38 years ago.
Like family, look, I am riding with the victims. I'm for I'm all for that. But I do believe that there has to be some type of statute of limitations here. I believe this. Now, this this is going to rub some of y'all the wrong way, but I'll take my chances.
I believe that justice should be served.
At the same time, if someone is violated, it don't matter who what what their gender is. If someone is violated, they should have they should be given a year outside of the date that they have that they have that this the incident occurred. So let's put it like this. If somebody gets violated on the date and the moment that that person can get to safety where they can actually tell somebody, the clock starts ticking.
From the moment that person gets to safety. So if something, let's say something like that happened to her, and let's say we ought to believe that that's exactly what happened. Jermaine came to her house in Inino, California, 1988, and forced himself on her. When he got out of that door, she got access to the phone. She got access to run next door to the neighbor. She got access and telling somebody that this dude just violated her. That's when the clock starts. The moment she's uh uh she's away from that person and she feels that that she can reach out to somebody else, the clock starts right there. And you got a year to report it.
You got a year to report it.
And if you don't report it, then ain't nothing can be done about it.
You got a year to report it. And The reason why I'm saying this family is because we have to protect all sides. You have to Yeah. You have to protect the women who are innocent, but you also have to protect the men who are innocent of this type of stuff, right?
Because a lot of these women, what they're doing is they're sitting back and they're making up stuff. I'm I'm saying not all. That's what I'm saying.
Not all, but some of these women, they're making up stuff. They sitting back and they they they coming down on hard financial times. They see a dude getting money. He got it. You know, he bought out of this. He did this for her.
And they're feeling some type of way for about it. And they wondering why he didn't do that for them. So now they trying to come up with a lick. And you know what? Uh they don't like the way he spoke about this or said this or he never mentioned him her name in the book or he mentioned her name in the book.
Now she feels some type of way. So now she want to try to hurt him. So you know what I do? I can do the one thing that I do not need proof for. I can just say he raped me. And I don't need any proof for that cuz I can guarantee you they have no proof. I I can guarantee you she has no proof that she ain't got no evidence from 1988.
It's her word against his word. That's what that is. And I think it there has to be a statute of limitations. There has to be a statute of limitations. All right. Y'all don't want it to be a year.
Let's say two years. Hell, let's say three years. Let's say five. Let's say 10. It has to be a statute of limitations.
Again, this is a situation also that involves where most I've yet to see any of these situations where that involve somebody coming forward decades later having proof. And don't try to compare it to slavery because that's totally different. We got proof that slavery happened. We got proof that that millions of people were murdered. We got proof of that. Plus, uh there ain't no statute of limitations for murder, right? So, don't even try to compare this something like this to slavery.
It's atrocious. It's atrocious. Don't get me wrong. It's horrible. Totally foul vows. Got it. Absolutely agree with you. But this is one of those situations where often times people lie. People make up stuff. I don't know how many cases I've seen of young athletes being lied on and having their careers derailed because of that lie. You know, sometimes they get exonerated, sometimes they don't.
But Germaine Jackson should have responded to that lawsuit.
Ain't no way somebody could accuse me of something like that. And I'm not going to fight. I'm fighting everybody. I'm fighting the person who filed the suit.
I'm f I'm fighting the accuser, the person who filed the suit. I'm fighting They got kids. I'm fighting the kid. I'm fighting the dog. I'm fighting everybody. I'm fighting the system. I'm fighting everybody cuz I know I'm innocent. I don't rock. I don't rock like that. So, I'm fighting everybody.
Yeah. I'm fighting and I'm and I'm and I'm going to counter sue. I'm counter suing. Yeah. You ain't got no money.
Whatever Whatever brokenness you are, you going to be double broke when I'm done with you. Cuz I don't play like that. I do not play like that at all.
Jermaine Jackson, man. Now Jermaine Jackson got some splaining to do because people are talking about boycotting the Michael film now. They want to boycott the Michael film. Like I'm not with that at all. I'm not with that at all. But what say you f look I want you to give me a thumbs up if you think that the people are right about boycotting the Michael film.
Thumbs down if say man leave that man alone. Leave them people alone man. Get the hell out of here. Drop a comment.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
No more Todd.
