A quintessential example of the intellectual's romanticized "return to roots," rebranding grueling subsistence as a curated aesthetic for the Western-educated elite. It’s the ultimate luxury to treat manual labor as a soul-searching hobby rather than a survival necessity.

We Planted Our FIRST Plantain! | Our Journey To Going Off-Grid in GhanaAjouté :
All right, guys. We're back. We're staying consistent at the farm. So, I'm back again. Going to finish clearing off an area. See if I can um get some planting suckers from around the land and um yeah, get this plot of plantain planted. So, let's go.
All right.
So, today just been clearing and burning what I cut down last time so I can see the ground. so I can just clear up any tree stumps, things like that. And then before I get planting, but I am starving.
Absolutely starving. So, I'm going to see if I can find some cassava to roast.
Found these two, but they're really little. So, going to pluck up the rest of what's here because um this place is all getting cleared anyway. Then I'll move over to this side where there's a few cassava plants around and then see if we can get some food.
Okay, looks like I found lunch, guys.
Hey, hey, hey.
Hey, hey, hey.
are you?
Hey, hey, hey.
What do you think?
Thank you. Yes.
All right. So, as you can see, got our first nine plantain suckers planted.
got another 10 to plant and then I've got another 50 coming as well. So all this area behind me you're going to see is going to eventually up to the bamboo a little bit before cuz of sunlight.
It's all going to be plantain. So going to use the plantain to slowly um conquer each part of the land until we've got the full place under control.
But the thing that I love about this land is you can see the palms. some big palms that are producing already, but then in amongst you have little palms like this one that are just growing steady. So, I'm going to clean them up and let them grow. So, it's going to be a full hybrid farm. You know, these are um local bananas. Um so, I'm going to have the plantain growing. Going to have some coconut, mango, lime trees, all sorts.
Um you know, all sorts to just try and grow as much food as we can. I want to see if I can bring over some potatoes as well. That little mound there, want to see if I can turn that into a little potato patch. And um yeah, just keep going on like that. Really grow as much food as possible.
Look at the lovely view.
Mountains in the back.
Yeah, man. So Hey, hey, hey.
Hey, hey, hey.
Hey, do you know
