Uh there's like got to be on this day, behind [music] this railing in 1789, George Washington was sworn in as the first president of the United States. Washington's inauguration didn't take place in Washington, D.C., but instead at Federal Hall in Lower Manhattan. Federal Hall was also home to the first Congress, [music] the first Supreme Court, and the first offices of the executive branch. See the Bible that Washington placed his hand in and was sworn on for too long.
