Madrid mentality is a psychological concept representing Real Madrid's core identity of fearlessness, collective sacrifice, and unwavering belief in victory, which transcends individual talent and tactical systems; this mentality requires players to prioritize team success over personal ego, maintain emotional leadership during pressure, and embody the club's historic spirit of never surrendering, as demonstrated by legendary players like Zidane, Ronaldo, and Kroos who understood that true success comes from collective belief under pressure rather than individual moments.

THIS DOESN’T FEEL LIKE REAL MADRID ANYMORE… PEREZ BIGGEST CRASH OUTAdded:
This is part one of the Madrid mentality series. Real Madrid was never just a football club. It was a mentality. It was a standard. It was a fear factor. It was a spirit. And when I look at the current team right now, it just doesn't feel like Real Madrid anymore.
mentality, fear, and winning. But before we get into the video, Florentino Perez has just had the biggest press conference crash and has exposed so many different things for Real Madrid. I'm going to keep it as short as possible, but there are so many things he has said. I mean he picked out his phone and he said listen guys Benita I am not resigning. Florentino Perez also said we have found the person who leaked the information about Valv and Charminy fight. That person is just angry because he is leaving the club and that's why he leaked it. Crazy. I mean there's so many things that he said guys I can even break it down but I want to highlight one of the things he said that was major. He said La Liga is our eternal enemy. They have a systematic corruption in the Negrada case with Barcelona. But we will fight. I fight everyone. We are preparing a 500page file that I will send to UEFA regarding this corruption case. And he said for two decades FC Barcelona and Aguero they have employed referees. And he said even in the third decade right now they are still employing referees. And he said this year alone, this season alone, they have denied Real Madrid 18 points. So I mean this guy actually went in. These are one of the things he also said. This is the most unforgettable press conference in footballing history. He said he's sorry he won't resign.
Instead, he's calling for an election 3 years early and threatening other candidates to run against him if they can. He refused to speak about sporting matters as well and he said that Real Madrid players fight every season. That is completely normal at least four or five each year. But he says listen there are they are good kids. That's how he referred to Trameni and Valerde. He picked up his phone and he started to read news and laughing at fake news from multiple news outlets. It's crazy. Like this is mad. He attacked obviously Barcelona for the Negra case. He said he's a supernatural human. He works like a beast day and night and he's denying rumors of him having cancer and says he does not have it. Otherwise, everybody would know that he has cancer, which is crazy in itself. Again, he said he would have had at least seven more titles if they were not robbed from him, which again is incredible. He said that he is a construction mogul claiming that he has companies that generate billions of euros in revenue worldwide all over the world. He said Real Madrid have the most valuable club. I mean the amount of things he said. He even started arguing with the journalist.
I mean he was his own stuff. He said the fans and the members of the club should support the club and not boo them. He said the socios of the club also do not boo them. They actually support the players. And he also, like I said, he reminded you he calls the nega case as the worst scandal in footballing history. He says that Real Madrid won the Super League case and what they did was good for football. And he said that so that children in Africa can watch football for free. He said that he's going to unsubscribe from ABC again. He said that everyone in the world loves him. He said that the club will do an analysis on the sporting side after the elections. He said that it's not a dictatorship, of course, how the club is run as well. And he said he's the most successful president in footballing history. When he came to the club, they were in so much depth. He said literally the financial situation was so bad when he arrived there and with record signings, he's the one that turned things around. And then he went on to say they will have to shoot him in order to get him out of the club. Then he said good night and he hope he never sees the journalist again. It was the ultimate the ultimate crash out from Florentino Perez and it goes to show you where Real Madrid are currently right now. That's why this video about Madrid mentality is so important guys because there's so many talking points. What you guys need to understand is Madrid mentality is psychological domination. It's not just about the trophies. It's not just about the football. It's more than that. It's also about the people, about the madistas, the socials, the people that looked at the club, the people that felt like they were part of the club. And you could say the people that own the club.
People saw situations and they felt it to be impossible. But the fear factor was never a part of being a Madridista.
It was never a part of playing for Real Madrid. Los Blanos was always held in high regard because even in impossible situations, Madrid always found a way.
Now to understand Madrid mentality, you need to understand the historic moments of this club, why the Madrid mentality is so important. So I've explained what Madrid mentality is, but to truly understand, you need to understand the depth of history at this football club.
We're talking 6th of March 1902. They were known as Madrid Football Club and that was the time where they decided to wear the all white, the Los Blanos, Los Menquez that you know of today. You move forward to 1905 and that was the first time winning became a part of Madrid football club. They won the first Spanish cup final against Atleti Bilbao.
And if you didn't know, King Alonso I 13th put Royal in front of the name of Madrid Football Club. And that's how they became Real Madrid, standing for Royal Madrid that you know today. And in 1929, the Spanish football league started. And that season on the last day, Real Madrid lost to Atleti Bilbao.
And that ended up in Barcelona being the champions. And that sparked the commencement of an eternal rivalry. In 1931-32 season, Real Madrid won their first league title and after that they created history and won it back to back.
The winning mentality had entered the football club. An historic moment in 1943, Eláico ended with Real Madrid winning 11 against FC Barcelona, which was the same year when Santiago goal took over the club as president and you guys already know he was the man that rebuilt the whole structure, the youth system and most importantly the stadium you know today as the Santiago Bernaba, which is an absolute wonderful monument that If you haven't been, make sure you go. And that is what really started. Real Madrid as a football club. Now, this is where Real Madrid mentality really came into play. And I don't want to get it wrong, so I'll give you the dates. In 2000, what happened was Florentino Perez ran for presidency. And as soon as he ran, he came into the club and he had something to offer. But what he had to offer was actually a lie. He told the club, the people, the socios and the madistas that he had signed Luis Figo.
He basically promised them Luis Figo, but made it out to seem like the deal was done. The club was in serious depth.
And in actual fact, he ended up getting Figo, who was one of the best players in the world, if not the best player at the time, and he played for huge arch rivals FC Barcelona. But Florentino Perez made it happen. And that was the beginning of the Galactic at the time. Now when we're talking about the signing of Zinedadin Zidane, which was 77.5 million euros at the time, Ronaldo from Inter Milan, and then David Beckham from Manchester United, the Galactic was formed. And in 2002, they won the Champions League.
Zined Zidan's famous goal of course, Roberto Carlos assist. And they beat Bayer Leusen in that game. Goes from Zined Zidan and Raul. And then in 2003 they won La Liga title and then after that they went some years without winning anything. But my highlight here is when Florentino Perez came into the team what he tried to get the Galactic to understand is that this is a club where you need to understand the mentality. You need to step on the field without any fear and you need to only be concerned about one thing and that one thing is winning. And from that moment, that is when the Galacticos and Real Madrid had been stamped into footballing history. It became a thing of if you play for Los Blanos, you playing for the best team in the world. Players like Zinedine Zidane were so decorated, already had a World Cup, already had a Euros, and we're talking about a player that could do anything on his day. You add Luis Figo to that. You add David Beckham to that. You add Ronaldo R9 El Phenomenino to that. Then you have other neat players like Gouti of course Raul an absolute top goalc scoring marksman.
Eik Casillas Fernando players that you look at and you think wow he's a superstar. Roberto Carlos. It is something that you have to understand that when you put on that badge, understand which players that came before you, understand what it means to actually put on that shirt, the honor that you carry when you put on that shirt and why Madrid mentality matters.
It's not just about talent. People think it is, but it seriously isn't. It's something you carry in your day today.
the honor, the understanding, and it's something that you walk with wherever you go. You are a madista, not just a fan, a player, but you embody that everywhere you go. And I think when you understand it's about winning, you put your pride to the side. You put your ego to the side and you say, "Listen, I might not see eye to eye with him. I might not see eye to eye with him, but what matters is I'm here to win. So whatever we need to do to make sure that we win, we will do it. Even if that means me having to put aside my ego, my game, maybe I'm not looking as good as I want to. Maybe I don't get to play my game, but the team wins, then so be it.
That is the embodiment and the encapsulation of Madrid mentality. Now, this is important to understand. Here's what people misunderstand about Real Madrid and the superstars. They believe it's just about talent. It's about leadership. It's about sacrifice. It's about making sure that you play as a team. But most of all, it's about connection. Connecting to the fans and connecting to the people is one of the most important things about actually being a player of Real Madrid. Now, to understand Madrid mentality, you need to know who owns Real Madrid. Now, who owns Real Madrid? The question is answered here. The fans now the fans actually own Real Madrid and they are a nonprofit organization. It is important to remember that some of these fans at least 90,000 members are called socios and these hold the club's voting rights for presidency. Now I get it. People may wonder why is that? One thing it does allow is that the fans will be closer to the club and closer to the team. Hence why they have a lot to say. So therefore, when the fans are talking about Real Madrid, when they look at the club, they feel responsible when things go south. They feel responsible when they don't see players putting in effort. They feel responsible when they see a total lack of leadership. And that's why because they have to pump, especially the socios €123 a year to be a part of that organization. People don't know what it means to be a Midista. Today, you will know. One of the main things that keeps Real Madrid on top is its historic leaders. I don't even need to mention them to you because you probably know most of them. And if we're talking about the recent era, we're talking Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, Tony Cruz, Luca Modric, players of that ilk, players of that quality, but also players of that mentality. Of recent times, we've seen Real Madrid absolutely dominate. And it was a psychological domination. It was a fear factor. You remember Zined Zidan, ThreePe, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Kahim Benzema, Tony Cruz, Luca Modric, Serio Ramos, the embodiment of that club. When you saw these players step up, it wasn't just the fact that they could play football. It's because, you know, they had that never say die attitude, that spirit of Real Madrid was in them. And those historic leaders is what kept this club above water even in difficult times. And that's why Madrid just had that geniqua about them. They had that something extra special. But these are the players that on the pitch decided not just moments but also calm.
When there's a storm, don't react.
Always believe. And belief is the one thing that has carried Real Madrid until this moment that we're talking about right now.
collective structure.
So, a lot of people will say this is what has changed the trajectory of Real Madrid right now because of what we're seeing from the top teams in modernday football. Should Real Madrid follow those teams or should they stick in their own lane? This has definitely changed a lot of things. Now, when I'm looking at the collective, I I see a team of superstars. I see a team of talent, but where is the collective identity? That is something that even with the Galactic, you could still see it. You could still sniff it. At least in recent times, like I spoke about the historic players that played for Real Madrid, the historic leaders, but I don't see emotional leadership, something that they had, but something that they lack right now. And even when you're looking at the structure, even in chaos, I've already spoken about it.
Refer back to my last videos, especially when I spoke about PSG and Bayern Munen.
You can still have structure in your chaos. You still have to have your go-tos, the players that you can look at when things are going tough, you can refer to. We're looking at a man that was a captain in our classical, Venicious Jr. that was walking. Now, if we're talking about emotional leadership, the reason why I said he can't be the leader, he cannot be the captain because he is too sporadic, too emotional in his reactions. Because when you're leading Real Madrid, everybody is microanalyzing your every step, your every move. Hence why we're talking about what happened with Fredo Valverde recently. People are saying strip him of strip him of captaincy.
They're saying that maybe Real Madrid need to sell him. They're saying that he's not really the leader that Real Madrid need. I've always voiced it and I said, I don't think he's potentially a captain for Real Madrid in the sense that you're saying he's a speaker, but in the sense of how he plays and gives 100% 1,000% I would say he would be a captain of Real Madrid. I said the same with Jude Bellingham and I stand by it.
But when you're looking at certain other actions like his hottemperedness and his ability inability, sorry, to refrain, that is what causes more problems.
That's not a solution-based captain.
Real Madrid needs solutionbased players, not ego-based, not players that will put their ego before the team. And a lot of times that's what happened with modern day football because it highlights the collective so much that when you see players are individualistic, it breaks down the structure. And that's something that's so evident right now with Real Madrid. And that's why what happens when things break down? Oh, let's blame Kian Bappe. Oh, let's blame Drew Bellingham. Oh, let's blame Venicious Jr. But when it's another team like PSG, Bayern Munich, you will blame the teams, the structures. You'll blame the manager. You will never just look and single out one player. Why? Because the system always wins. [music] The collective always wins. And they have a collective identity. We work for each other. We press for each other. We play for each other. And we win with each other. That has to change. Madrid mentality. Real Madrid is not just any club. And I'm telling you, the moment you go and you just sit in that stadium. What you feel is chills, shivers up your spine. And I can understand every player say, "Oh, I went to Madrid. We played against them and then they just came back. We're winning." And then in 2 minutes they scored three goals. It's the aura. It's the spirit. It's not about the player.
It's about understanding mid mentality and I will keep on saying it until you understand it. That is what separates you. And when I'm looking at the team and when I'm looking how they played in our classical that was lost. I did not see an identity. I saw players who gave up. I saw players who said, "Well, Barcelona, you are better than us anyway. You've won anyway." That is not Madrid mentality. And that has to be fixed. Best believe when you're leading a team, especially as a captain, everybody can see your body language.
Everybody plays the same. Raul Asencio, one thing I could say about him, he's a player that always gives 100%. We saw with a second goal what he did. Not to backtrack to the game, but he didn't track his man. And that is because of players like Venicious Jr. just walking on the pitch. It shows you that this game doesn't mean much to me. If I if he's been at that club that much and that long and he doesn't want to win that much, I'm not going to do the same.
It's terrible attitude from the players, but you can see it's like a domino effect. That's a thing that I always speak to Kilianb about as well. He hasn't quite understood Marid mentality.
He hasn't understood it. If the player is in front of you and all you have to do is press 5 10 yards just so that you make it more difficult for the opposition to move the ball forward.
Killian, you do it. You don't say, "Oh, you know what? I'm killing Bape. I'm not going to do it." That does not make sense and that doesn't align with Madrid mentality. It doesn't. They're two different things. And if he really wants to be successful, he needs to understand because his comprehension of what that means will change the whole dynamic. I'm telling you this for free. When we're looking at players like Ton Cruz, Tony Cruz was more than just a midfielder.
He controlled the calm in the chaos. He understood what it was to be a Midista and Madrid mentality on the pitch. He was a leader, not necessarily a talker, but a leader, always willing to give a 100%. And with his experience of previous trophies, he won at Bayern Munich, coming to Madrid, winning a World Cup with Germany, he knew how to be efficient and played a role for the team. Most people don't know this, but when he first arrived at Bayern Munich, he was what, a camp, an attacking midfielder. Yes, Tony Cruz played higher up the field, even with Yerp Ankins. And people don't understand that he got moved back at Madrid, but look how he played that role. He made the role his own. And to be honest, in this generation, I don't think there was anybody better than Tony Cruz. I honestly I don't think there was anyone better than Tony Cruz. The only person that can talk to him is potentially Sergio Bushkett. Now, when we're talking about Luka Modric, the same embodiment, Luca Modric would give 1 million%.
Sometimes he ran even more than the younger players. What does that tell you when you see that as a player? It means that listen, I am not indispensable to this club. I could lose my place so easily if this guy's in his late 30s and he's running more than me. Again, he embodied Madrid mentality. That's what's lacking right now. When I'm looking at the players, I don't see it in them. They don't want it enough. They need to want it enough, but they don't want it enough. They've taken it for granted.
Why are you fighting each other? You guys should be fighting on the pitch for each other, not against each other. Now, this current Madrid team relies on moments. But when we're talking about the Madrid mentality, it was never just about moments. It was about collective belief under pressure. And if you look at the team today, that's what's lacking right now. And that's why I'm making this series because Madrid's problems goes much deeper than tactics. They go into mentality, leadership, modern-day football, and identity.
Now, Real Madrid will always have talent, but talent without identity eventually collapses. Stay tuned for the next video as I will be talking about Venicious Jr. because this just doesn't feel like Real Madrid anymore. But maybe, just maybe, this is where the rebuild of the Madrid mentality begins.
