Cold Formed Steel Building Problems-Continued

[00:00:03]Uh I just finishing up a a project in Prescott, Arizona.

[00:00:07]Uh I made a previous video about this building when we got here and started.

[00:00:12]Uh this is one of the few cold-formed steel buildings that we've done.

[00:00:17]And uh there's some things we a lot of things we learned, but uh few things that I want to go through that this owner had purchased this building and had been sitting on it for about 18 months before he found somebody to put it up.

[00:00:31]Uh there was some things missing and some things that weren't quite done right. Again, on our website, we have some guidelines for if you're looking for a steel building, what to do, what not to do. Um unfortunately, this owner got caught in some of those traps, but he was sold this building and uh some things did not come complete and how he thought they would. Um particularly, he he ordered it with doors, it came with door openings, but no doors. We had to supply doors.

[00:01:02]Uh it was missing base clips that we uh at our shop in Queen Creek had to make and punch, but we're able to do that and continue on the project instead of pulling off.

[00:01:12]But uh this building has this uh lean-to with two sides on it.

[00:01:18]With the cold-formed building, there's lots of extra bracing, lots of bolts, lots of screws uh that go into these, but there's a look at that and then that connects to this 30 by 40 uh shop space that he has.

[00:01:33]Uh the concrete was done on others on this project. Normally, we turn the concrete down in front of the garage doors, so if the water comes down the doors and rolls out, hopefully, you don't have too much problem here, but that's something that we like to do.

[00:01:48]Uh this building did not come with insulation, so you can see the bare metal all the way through this building.

[00:01:55]But uh just wanted to give you a look at a different style.
