Shakespeare's tragedies explore how unchecked ambition and the desire for power can lead individuals away from moral righteousness, demonstrating that the greatest internal conflict lies within the human mind between temptation and conscience, and that true greatness comes from placing duty before self, practicing patience, honesty, and morality rather than pursuing power through manipulation or force.

11. English Drama: Beyond the Crown - Vaishakh Festival – A Cultural Confluence 2026Added:
[music] Beyond the crowd is inspired by the works of William Sexpia, the great playwright of the Elizabethan age.
His tragedies, especially mag show how ambition and the desire for power can lead a person away from what is right.
In Julius Caesar, he explores political ambition, loyalty, and betrayal where even honorable intentions can lead to tragic consequences.
This play follows these ideas, showing how temptation and conscience struggle within a person and how the true conflict lies in the human mind.
This play brings together characters from the two most popular tragedies of Sikpia, Medbet and Julia Caesar. Though they belong to different worlds, they are united here to face one powerful question. What matters more, ambition or conscience?
Before the curtain rises, let us introduce the characters of our play.
We invite you to welcome them on stage with your warm applause.

There's a strange feeling in my mind.
What is it?

There is something unnatural in the air.
As if something cons >> but do not trust.
List you shall fall. We should be careful of such wizards. Sweet birds can hide danger.

[music] King Duncan's words are wise.
Yet my mind is restless and not at peace.
Why does this thought return again and again? A crown, a throne.
Is it wrong to wish for greatness?
You look clever, my friend.
Bango, tell me, is having an ambition always wrong?
No. But ambition without control and honesty can lead a man to wrong direction and can even lead him to hell.
>> A crowd, a throne.

>> Why wait?
Why fear?
Your moment is here.
>> Fear is found >> and found.
>> Do you hear that?
>> No, I hear nothing. But I see that you're disturbed.
These are the voices of temptations and all are in your mind.
Do not trust such voices as they promise a lot. But believe me, my friend, they give nothing.
Still their words haunt my mind with hopes and desires.
Why should one man rise above and rule us all? Do you have an answer to do this?
Cashious.
Power when trusted is safer than power taken by force.

True strength lies in hearing the truth.
I've seen men rising because of praise and fall because of pride. A wise man does not believe in every voice. He thinks and rethinks before he trusts.
>> But without ambition, no man can rise at all.
Ambition can help a man rise, but it can also make him blind. If he rises without wisdom, his fall will be even harder.
