[00:00:00]Good evening. I'm Chris 6 investigative reporter Lea Zorbas. A Nueces County judge has issued a temporary restraining order against Eric Tunches barring him from several properties around Corpus Christi. Just one day after Chris 6 aired body cam footage showing a tenant arrested during an eviction connected to one of those homes.

[00:00:19]>> With no legal reason to do so. An attorney for Amy Becker argued that Tunches kept collecting rent and involving himself with the properties despite a prior court order excluding him from the case. And in that order did it exclude Mr. Tunches from the case?

[00:00:34]Yes, it did. Okay. So, since March 18th, 2025, has Mr. Tunches' behavior as far as getting affidavits and trying to collect rent from the property stopped? No, he is still renting out these properties.

[00:00:51]He is still collecting money. Judge Mark Warner granted the restraining order warning that Tunches could face contempt charges if he violates it. Tenant Alyssa Cantu, seen in the body cam footage, says she still can't find housing after being evicted from a Brownlee Avenue property. Cuz the whole eviction, I cannot get my own place. And then he brought it to court like if it was legal and it was illegal cuz you don't even own the properties. And just as we were leaving, Tunches showed up. If somebody can do it. Hey Eric. This is Tunches.

[00:01:21]Hi, how are you feeling about the hearing today? I can't talk right now.

[00:01:25]I'm sorry. When asked about tenants who say they feel misled, he defended himself and walked away. Uh the court has indeed entered a temporary restraining order uh which I fully comply with while I pursue all the legal remedies uh to this case. Yeah, I have acted in good faith to maintain the properties. Thank you. Do you feel like the tenants were misled? Absolutely. And when Tunches was asked if he had a message for these tenants, he said this.

[00:01:49]You have uh tenants that are upset with you. How do you feel as a former mayor candidate and this and that to have people in the city that you live so disappointed with you? Pay your rent.
