Top 10 Improvised Movie KissesAdded:
I know what you're going to say.
I changed my hair.
>> It's nice that way.
>> Welcome to Miz Mojo and today we're counting down our picks for the movie kisses that were not in the original script. Bonus points if they greatly improved the scene. Because some of these unexpected kisses happened during pivotal moments, a spoiler alert is in effect.
>> I respect you for respecting me.
I respect that. [singing] >> Good.
>> Number 10, FA Rafa and Vladimir Dune Part Two.
>> The slave wasn't drugged.
You tried to kill me.
>> It's no secret that Austin Butler dives headirst into his roles. Whether he's playing Elvis or a Manson family member, he always goes allin.
>> You are I'm the devil.
and I'm here to do the devil's business.
>> His role in Dune part two was no exception where we saw him play the dark, manipulative, and power-hungry fade Rotha Harkinin. In this scene, he's kissed by Vladimir, but in an improvised moment, Butler as Harkinin pulls in Vladimir for a second kiss, showing who's in charge in the dynamic. Rid me of this framan demon.
>> Most of the entries on this list are kisses that are either romantic or at least friendly, [music] but this one had a completely different feel. Butler's improvisation was strategic and proved his character's unpredictable and manipulative nature, and it's a haunting moment. Number nine, Peter and Gwen, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Coming to dim sum.
>> Can't keep me away.
>> It's at 8:00. Don't be late.
>> I won't be.
>> The Spider-Man franchise has seen countless iconic kisses, particularly ones shared between Peter Parker and his love interest. Who could forget the upside down kiss from Tobey Maguire's first Spider-Man movie. That one, however, was planned. But when Andrew Garfield planted one on an unsuspecting Emma Stone in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, that was not.
>> [cheering and music] [music] >> Garfield claims it was his character's way of making up for missing Gwen's validtory speech, and it sounds like he was genuinely swept up in the moment.
Considering Garfield and Stone's real life romance at the time, it's no wonder this moment feels so authentic. We think that with that kiss, all was probably forgiven between Peter and Gwen. And I'm going to do my speech feed >> all night. I want to do my speech over and over again. All night long. Okay.
>> Oh my god.
>> Yeah.
>> Number eight, William and Rita. Edge of Tomorrow.
>> You don't talk to anyone about this but me. The best case scenario is you're going to end up in a psych ward. Worst case, you'll get dissected for study.
Are we clear?
>> Yes.
>> Yes.
>> Tom Cruz is no stranger to improvised kisses on the big screen. He pulled off an unscripted one in Top Gun when he forgot his lines and instead planted one on Kelly McGillis.
[music] But Emily Blunt is the one that surprises Tom Cruz by returning the favor and kissing him in Edge of Tomorrow. The story goes that the filmmakers were struggling to find the right moment for the kiss to be shared between the two. So Blunt took the lead.
She chose the goodbye scene and we think her creative choice elevated their characters relationship and the film as a whole. I wish I had the chance to know you better.
[sighs] [panting] >> Number seven, Charlie and his sons. Me, myself, and Irene.
>> Hey, buddy. Hey.
Your appetite, would you?
>> Oh, I did. Charlie, the kids look great.
Yeah, don't they? Thanks.
>> You never really know what Jim Carrey is going to try and pull off next. So, if you're working on screen alongside him, you have to be ready for anything. His co-stars learned this lesson the hard and hilarious way when Carrie as Charlie decided on the spot to kiss his three adult sons.
>> Kisses, [laughter] daddy.
>> See you later. [laughter] Love you. You can see that the actors are taken off guard, but they go with it anyway, and it makes for a funny bit. We're not really sure how they were able to keep it together through this impromptu kissfest, but we know that we sure can't keep our giggles in anytime we see this scene.
>> How's my little guy doing?
>> Struggling. This quantum physics is confusing. If I DON'T BUCKLE DOWN, I'M GOING TO GIVE MYSELF another B+.
>> Number six, Will and Ronnie, the last song.
>> You okay?
>> Well, I would rather drink my milkshake than wear it, but I'm fine. I'm sorry.
>> You look it.
Forget it.
>> We are not entirely shocked that Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus really ended up together for years after their performance in the last song. You can basically feel their chemistry bursting through the screen.
>> I don't want to lose you.
The scene in which Will kisses Ronnie as they reconcile with one another is romantic, impactful, and more intense than was originally scripted. While the actors were instructed to share a romantic moment while making up on the beach, they decided to let the moment unfold naturally. This decision led to a much more passionate kiss than the filmmakers originally envisioned, [music] and we think they nailed it.
>> Not like young girls. Number [music] five, Bob and Charlotte. Lost in translation.
>> How long you been married?
>> Yeah, thank you.
>> Two years, >> 25 long ones.
>> Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray are an unlikely but lovable duo in [music] this existential flick from the early as. We love watching them navigate Tokyo as lost souls throughout the film, but they really seal the deal for us with that final goodbye scene. As Bob and Charlotte part ways, he whispers something in her ear that is audible only to her, and they share a surprisingly loving kiss.
>> Hi.
>> All of this was improvised by Bill Murray. To this day, no one but Johansson knows what he said to her. We love this tender moment shared between the two. so much that we can't imagine the film ending any other way.
[music] >> Number four, Rosalyn and Sydney, American Hustle.
>> Ring on my finger. We have a child together.
>> He doesn't love you, Rosalyn. He loves me. And you know it, and I know it, and he knows it, and it might be done now, but it was beautiful, and it was real.
Whenever we have an unpredictable actor playing an unpredictable character, we are on the edge of our seats and they usually shock us at just the right moment. This is exactly the case with Jennifer Lawrence as Rosalyn. And in this scene, she plays brilliantly off of Amy Adams as Sydney. Well, he must like it on some level. He must want it because he keeps coming back for it.
It's like that perfume that you love that you can't stop smelling. Even when there's something sour in it, you can't get enough of it. Rosalyn is chaotic and uninhibited. Whereas Sydney is sly and cunning, [music] so to assert her dominance after discovering Sydney is having an affair with her husband, Rosalyn shocks Sydney and [music] us with a kiss.
[laughter] >> It's a brilliant moment [music] and it highlights Lawrence and Adams's amazing acting chops perfectly. Number three, Ben and Andy. How to lose a guy in 10 days.
>> Can I see you tomorrow?
>> Really?
>> I hope so.
>> Call me.
>> I will.
>> And I'll call you.
>> Dreams.
>> Answer your phone.
>> What? When you watch this film, you can really tell that Kate Hudson and Matthew McConnA had a lot of fun in their respective roles. In this scene in particular, Hudson as Andy is going over the top to be loveydovey. She's all over Ben. And Hudson clearly took some creative license here.
Mhm. Ho ho ho. [laughter] And hey, it is good to see you, too, Oh, gotcha.
>> It's obvious that McConnA is taken aback by all of the kisses she's smothering him in. And we even see him on the brink of breaking as he giggles throughout the scene. It's flirty. It's fun. And it's a perfect addition to this timeless romcom.
>> All right. Meet me at the Seventh Avenue entrance. 7:30. Don't be late.
>> You got it. Bye-bye.
>> Bye.
>> Number two. Hey Mitch and Effie. The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part Two.
>> You know, I like you better, Effie, without all that makeup.
>> I like you better sober.
>> We did not see this one coming. For the first three movies in the Hunger Games franchise, Effie and Hamitch have a complicated relationship. Hmitch is a mess who is unwilling to do his part in the games [music] and Effie is unnecessarily chipper about following the rules.
>> Can you pass the marmalade?
>> That is mahogany.
>> Since they're always involved in representing district 12 in the Hunger Games, [music] they have quite a history. So, it's a surprisingly sweet moment when they share a kiss as they part ways in the fourth and final film.
If you don't be a stranger, >> take care of her.
>> I will.
>> As sudden as it is, it's also a perfect ending for them, as this kiss represents how close they've gotten after everything they've gone through together. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
George and Lucy, A Room with a View.
Julian Sans caught a young Helena Bonum Carter offguard.
>> [music] >> Owen and Claire Jurassic World. Bryce Dallas Howard Squeak says it all.
>> Nick and Nikki. The unbearable weight of massive talent. Only Nicholas Cage could surprise himself with a kiss. Yeah, Nick Cage smooch is good.
>> YOU TELL THEM NICK CAGE SMOOCH IS GOOD.
>> Doug and Claire, deja vu. Denzel Washington chooses spontaneity.
[music] >> Be careful.
>> Willie and Marty, beautiful girls. That kiss on the cheek surprised an adorable Natalie Portman.
>> Bye, Marty.
>> Later, poo.
Before we continue, check out this single from Sound Mojo's album Balance.
Classical music reimagined as rock, hard rock, and metal. Check out the full track and album below. [music] I am the echo. You can't outun the jokes on you. [music] The blade be number one. Luke and Leia. Star Wars Episode 8, The Last Jedi.
>> Leia, >> I'm sorry.
>> I know.
I know you are.
>> I'm just glad you're here. No, not the kiss they shared before they knew that they were twins. We're talking about the tender forehead kiss in Carrie Fischer's final Star Wars film before her passing.
This was a moment four decades in the making. So, it's safe to say that the emotion is palpable.
>> I held out hope for so long, but I know my son's gone.
>> No one's ever really gone. This is also the first time we've seen them on screen together since the original trilogy, so we're already in our feels about that.
Compound that with the impromptu kiss as [music] they part ways unknowingly for good in real life, and we're unable to hold back our tears.
>> Master Luke, which unscripted kiss caught you off guard? Let us know in the comments.
