FSD in the rain. City and motorway driving. Using Autopark (not FSD) at the end.

[00:00:17]This time it's just a drive from the airport and back home. It'll be a bit of um kind of city driving at first and then there'll be some some motorway driving in the rain as well. I don't think there'll be a lot of traffic, so probably the motorway driving will be quite boring.

[00:00:37]But let's see. I hope something interesting pops up.

[00:00:52]Now we have some bicycles coming up ahead. And let's see how the Tesla manages to Big way for them.

[00:01:04]That was fine. Plenty of space carhead.

[00:01:27]It was a very nice and respectful speed at which you it drove by that person and also it wasn't so slow as to seem unnatural or anything.

[00:02:07]I think I would probably have gone over to the right a bit more to give a bit more room for the guy coming the other way, but still he got past just fine.

[00:02:42]I think as a human and also knowing um that other people can be a bit erratic sometimes, I would probably have slowed down a bit as well and given a bit more space.

[00:03:01]I think maybe FSD has a bit too much trust in us humans sometimes.

[00:03:32]We have the uh iconic roundabout with the water tower coming up.

[00:03:54]I'm quite impressed with how well um FSD is able to read the lane markings. They are I think find them quite hard to spot sometimes when when it's wet and they are quite worn.

[00:04:57]This was perfect timing getting into the turning lane and it cancelled the blinker just as it should because we can't turn into this first piece of road.

[00:05:21]I think it's quite interesting sometimes to watch the blue noodle on the screen um indicating where which lanes and which way the FSD is intending to go.

[00:05:32]Most of most of the time it's very steady and showing exactly what's going to happen and Sometimes FSD gets a bit bit confused and and jumps around.

[00:05:48]Also with the green arrow here, I didn't have to press the accelerator. FSD new winter go is being very careful here.

[00:06:11]I think it could go a bit faster, but seems like it knew there was a road works down here at a maximum of 80 kph.

[00:06:35]This third lane we're in uh goes on for a very long time. So, it's fine to just stay here. We have a taxi on our left that's just hanging out there.

[00:07:19]I think I'll try and indicate to the left to see if I get pulled up very nicely because the temp the road the right lane there has a lot of um manhole covers that are very uneven with the road surface.

[00:07:43]I think it's very impressive how quickly FSD picks up on uh when I indicate to make it do something, it does so pretty much immediately, which to me shows that um it has a pretty complete understanding of all the surroundings all the time.

[00:08:04]I think for most humans, if you ask them make a lane to being changed. Now, uh they would have to have to do some head move movement and uh look around to make sure it was safe before they could do so.

[00:08:21]But FSD has cameras all the way around and uh probably nothing better to do than keep watching watch in all directions.

[00:08:34]I've also noticed that it's uh quite aware of what's coming up from behind.

[00:08:39]Uh once we were driving in in two lanes.

[00:08:43]Uh the this traffic was quite slow doing like 30 km an hour or so and there was a motorcycle coming up from behind uh driving spinning the lanes and uh FSG I was in the left lane and FSG just very naturally uh and in plenty of time pulled over to the left and make space for the motorcycle to go drive past.

[00:09:08]That was quite impressive but unfortunately I didn't get it on video.

[00:09:36]I don't know if you can tell on the screen, but I have um I'm trying out a small speed offset. So, I'm allowing FSD to go 5% above the speed limit. Um, so far it has resulted in more smooth and natural driving because we are better able to keep up with the other traffic.

[00:10:57]Now we are leaving Amma and going back to Sealand.

[00:11:40]I hope FST is not overtaking this guy on our left.

[00:11:46]Should pull out the proper overtake.

[00:11:54]I'll stay behind, of course. That's fine as well.

[00:12:25]It's quite normally I um I always listen to music when I drive, but when recording video I cannot do that, of course. So you hear the road noise a lot more. I think was just a very discreet level of music. It all already drowns out the road noise out of the rain. The road noise is extra loud, but in person it does not seem loud at all.

[00:12:57]I think these uh new metal wires are extremely comfortable. Um the ride is very smooth and and it's very quiet in here with the uh acoustic glass all around and yeah quite good sound insulation.

[00:13:18]But when I rewatch some of these videos it's quite obvious that the phone boosts the sound when I don't I'm not talking.

[00:13:25]So the um road becomes a bit noisy.

[00:13:44]I think if I would have been driving, I would have overtaken these um slow cars in the truck ahead. But for just driving these few kilometers, it uh with makes pretty much no difference with uh regards to the arrival time.

[00:14:14]The car got a bit confused about what the cars ahead were doing.

[00:14:33]Um, when the conditions are like they are right now, um, should have your rear lights on.

[00:14:39]See, the car just that just overtook us did not have his on, but as you can see on the screen, the Tesla has uh full lights on.

[00:14:54]It's running the normal headlights, not just the DRLs. And also the rear lights are on, which is shown both over here and as well here.

[00:15:27]And here it's ignoring the speed offset that I have given it. Maybe it's um I think it's probably because of the rain.

[00:16:24]Now it has chosen to be brave and uh apply the 5% offset.

[00:16:35]that truck scare.

[00:16:41]I think probably due to the poor disability.

[00:17:04]It was a bit slow um getting into the right lane there, but still it's quite okay.

[00:17:16]This timing was pretty much perfect.

[00:18:21]I think the 105 kph is choosing here is uh quite reasonable.

[00:18:27]I don't think I would have slowed down for this amount of rain, but it doesn't seem excessively slow.

[00:18:40]Also, I think we as humans are much more willing to take risks than the car should be.

[00:19:00]I feel very safe and comfortable doing this.

[00:19:24]That was a city lane change here.

[00:20:25]I don't know if you can tell on video, but the car up ahead has a Elon Socks sticker on the back, which I think is probably the stupidest things in the world.

[00:20:37]If that is really the guy's opinion, then why on earth would he buy a Tesla?

[00:20:50]Maybe it's a testament to how awesome a Model Y actually is as a car, as a family car. But even the guy that hates hates Elon Musk very much will still buy it.

[00:21:11]To me, I think the Model Y is pretty much the perfect family car. Has a lot of space and has an extra trunk in the front and a sub sub trunk in the rear and very comfortably seats five people. We also have a lot of room uh for our dog.

[00:21:29]We have a pretty large dog cage that takes up 2/3 of the trunk.

[00:21:36]Um, we have been on multiple family vacations in the car. We've been to Norway and Sweden a lot of times and also we have been to um we have been to um Italy and France and Germany and Austria, Poland.

[00:22:01]Lots of interesting places in the car.

[00:22:09]That intersection we just drove through is uh famously called the shitty intersection. It's written on the on the fence the head in the intersection. Um and it handled it very very well. It had patience and just calmly waited for the right circumstances for us to go ahead.

[00:22:32]No weird maneuvers. There's no hesitation. Very cool.

[00:23:28]I just changed the destination to the local store.

[00:23:33]Going to buy it for dinner.

[00:23:45]It was a bit a bit to the boring side, but um still sure it's a very typical FSD drive.

[00:24:02]I'm not recording uh all my drives. I think um a lot of the standard motorway drives or you just going to work and stuff gets very boring very fast and um yeah I try to record whenever I'm going somewhere unusual or going into Copenhagen or going somewhere where I know there's um there can be a more complicated traffic situation.

[00:24:42]I'll try something this time. Maybe I can make it part with the normal. Um, yeah, I'll try that.

[00:25:16]It's quite strange that the um normal Tesla auto park works quite well but but FSD is often not able to park.

[00:25:38]Cool. That was um parking a pretty tight spot by the Tesla, not by FSD, but by the um the normal Tesla auto park feature.
