If You're Doing This, You've Already Lost the Battle

[00:00:01]What about Michael the fact that and this is tearing me apart that Diablo the great divider is dividing our side our team and by our team I think people who stand with natural law stand in the truth of the Bible right and you know yes the Catholic Church is the fullness of all that sure but but we're attacking all of our Christian brothers and sisters and our Jewish brothers and sisters and all this stuff the people on our side you know, do what do you think we can do about all that division that's going on? The other name, the other uh translation for Diablo is accuser or slanderer. Oh my gosh, it it's it's so it's awful on our team right now. What What do you think?

[00:00:48]>> Well, the word diabolic is a comp it's a composite word of of the Greek diaboline, which is to tear apart >> or to cut through. So, it's divisive by its nature. And I think this is the other side of the double-edged sword of social media. On the one hand, social media has been a great asset in getting the truth out.

[00:01:09]>> On the other hand, the other side of it is that people are emboldened in their opinions to the point that they become prideful about what they think. Yep.

[00:01:17]>> And instead of looking for the truth and being willing to express the truth in charity, they become keyboard warriors where they express they they vent their spleen and they >> But it seems the first place they go at is our own team. Our own teammates.

[00:01:32]>> Absolutely. Yeah. Because Well, and and that that is really ultimately part of the pride that goes along with social media.

[00:01:39]>> And you know what? It's safer because if you go after the looney left, they will destroy you. but maybe not on their own team, you know.

[00:01:48]>> Well, and here's the thing.

[00:01:51]>> People say on social media things they would never say to somebody in person, >> right?

[00:01:54]>> Y >> and because of that that and and it's not boldness actually.

[00:02:00]It's just it's just an expressive expression of your own opinion, your your own uh attachment to your thoughts.

[00:02:11]And it's uh it's self-destructive as well as destructive of others because what you're doing is you're you're taking something that may or may not be a moral matter. It's probably not uh a matter of theological truth and you're trying to put an absolutist position to it and declare that anybody who is opposed to whatever it is that you're saying is either a heretic or a damn devil or whatever it is. And uh because of that expressiveness and the anger that goes along with it. Look what's anger. Anger is uh is your emotional expression to the thwarting of your own will. That's what anger is. If your will is being thwarted and you get angry at somebody, well, you have to ask yourself, was my will justified?

[00:03:04]And if it's not, if you have no authority over somebody, why would you get angry about them expressing a counter counter opinion? Even if it's somebody from the looney left, you know, why get angry about the fact that they express something that's counter to you?

[00:03:17]You're simply trying to stand up for the truth. They didn't accept it. Our Lord said, "Wipe the dust from your sandals and move on to the next town. So don't let it disturb your peace." If it's getting to the point that it's disturbing your peace, well then you've lost the battle. There's no point in getting involved at that
