[00:00:00]Texas is adding what will become the second largest state park as state officials announce the acquisition of nearly 54,000 acres in the Hill Country just west of San Antonio near Camp Wood, Texas. The land will become Silver Lake State Park. The property features steep canyons, rolling hills, miles of river frontage, and a spring-fed lake. Most of the land was donated by the Moody Foundation, while the state purchased the remaining share for nearly 12 million dollars. Texas Parks and Wildlife says the park will open in phases beginning with limited access before adding trails, camping, and paddling opportunities.
