Now, back to Harding now where the Mdlanga Commission is set to hear a recusal application filed by controversial businessman and alleged political fixer Brian Molefe against chief evidence leader advocate Matthew Matthew Chaskalson. For more on this, we cross back to SABC News reporter Kenneth Maphanga. Kenny, a very good morning to you again. I guess with baited breath to see whether Brian Molefe has evidence that, you know, Matthew Chaskalson has manipulated evidence and offered him protection.

[00:00:43]Indeed. A good morning to you, Siphokazi, and to the viewers. Once again, at 9:30 a.m. this morning, we'll see that Northwest businessman Brian Molefe gunned for the chief evidence leader, that is advocate Matthew Chaskalson SC, and seek his recusal from his testimony as Brian Molefe is set to testify this morning or the continuation of his testimony. He just doesn't want to do so with a Chaskalson. We'll see at 9:30 if he is successful regarding that particular bit, but either way, it'll either be Chaskalson himself who is leading the evidence or somebody else.

[00:01:15]Essentially, we've seen or gotten indication as to the grounds he raises for alleged misconduct as he claims in his complaint against advocate Chaskalson. I think the most serious being the one that you have hinted to earlier, Siphokazi, where he states that in this alleged misconduct complaint says that he was offered protection allegedly by Chaskalson in exchange for the implication of a third party. We know that he wants to allege that that third party is Suleman Karim who has appeared before the commission for his alleged role in the alleged criminal infiltration of those cartels in the criminal justice system. So, essentially, what we understand from how he seeks to, I guess, support or substantiate the claim is that he essentially wants to turn to a text message where uh Charles Cilliers allegedly tells him, "Let's work together." Although that's quite vague, it doesn't really tell us what uh the claim is about. He also turns to a consultation between himself, his lawyers, and Advocate Matthew Charles Cilliers where he states, allegedly, that is where that promise was given to him. And he says that this affects the integrity of the proceedings of the Madang Commission. Despite this, he also adds a grounds about the manner in which he was treated in his evidence-in-chief where he says that he was labeled as dishonest, he was prejudged, he was called a state agent, and a professional liar amongst others. These are all some of the complaints that he'll be bringing towards the uh Madang Commission in order to secure the I guess the release of Advocate Charles Cilliers as his chief evidence leader. We understand that Charles Cilliers has also filed his affidavit, and he'll be coming out swinging at 9:30 a.m. to defend himself against these claims that basically speak to the integrity of an individual and of course the process as a whole. We'll see how that plays out at 9:30 a.m. this morning. It's over to you in studio.
