GLP-1 medications like Zepbound, Mounjaro, Wegovy, and Ozempic are powerful tools that help reduce hunger and food cravings, but they are not a complete solution for weight loss. Successful weight loss requires combining medication with other tools including proper nutrition (protein, fiber, hydration), regular exercise (walking, strength training), tracking progress through apps and measurements, managing sleep and stress, and building a supportive community. Each person's body responds differently, so individuals must become students of their own bodies to determine what combination of tools works best for their unique journey.

Beyond GLP-1: What’s in Your Weight Loss Toolbox? | Real Talk LIVE Ep. 19
Added:Here's a >> Good afternoon everyone.
Welcome to the GLP1 Real Talk Live episode 19. Believe it or not, almost five months now. It's great to see everybody today coming in. Uh we definitely want to introduce everybody before we get started in the heat of it.
So, um, as you all introduce each other, just kind of mention another tool you're using with along with the medication since that's the theme of today's show.
Uh, Cara, go ahead.
>> Hi, I'm Cara. I'm using Zap Bound. And another tool that I'm using is one gallon of water every day.
>> Oh, wow. A whole gallon. Nice. Nice.
Going >> for it.
>> Um, all right, Mr. Riding the Tide Julio. What what you use?
>> Hello everyone. Uh I'm Julio Jose uh at Riding the Tide. I am on ZBound 5 milligrams and one of my favorite tools is my Refo Morphoscan scale.
>> Awesome. Awesome. How about you, Gemini Diva?
>> I'm Trina. I'm on Zepbound. Uh I just recently got to 7.5.
Um, the one tool I'm using is my ab flexer.
>> Awesome. Okay. What about you, Candy K all day?
>> I'm Ky K. I uh recently titrated up to 5 milligrams of Zep Bound and I am using My Fitness Pal, the free version to track my protein.
>> Yeah, the free version does quite a bit.
So, that's awesome. Awesome. And hello Paulo. How about you?
>> Hi, I'm Paula at Paula's Journey to Health and I am using uh Zepbound and the tool that's helping me the most right now is a dietitionian.
>> That's great. And of course, I'm Grant Campbell with Faithful GLP-1 Journey.
And you know, one big tool that I'm using along with my journey on 15 milligrams of Monero is um weightlifting and weight training to try to keep the uh the strength and muscles going. So, uh we actually have one more in here. Hello, Liza. How are you doing today?
>> I'm doing pretty good.
>> Oh, great. Great. Well, we're we're just getting through the introductions today.
So, uh, if you don't care, go ahead and introduce yourself and mention another tool you use along with your medication.
>> All right. Um, for those of you who don't know, my name is Liza Wellness with Liza. And one of the tools that I like to use is I like to use my My Fitness uh fitness pal. So, that kind of helps to keep me on track.
>> Great. Great. And do you use the free version? Just curious.
>> The free version. Free version.
>> Yep. Good.
>> There you go. You and Candy K use that.
That's awesome.
>> Free version.
>> Yeah, free is always good. As long as it works for you, go for it. And I just want to say hello to all these wonderful people coming in the chat. I'm going to speak to Monair Journey with Pam. She's also on this panel uh in our chat today.
And then hello Laura Miller. Welcome into you. And Nancy Germaine as well.
some familiar faces. And then we have a new face. I don't remember uh personally. Maybe he's a friend of one of y'all's channels, but uh hello uh Straa Straa Struckas, it's good to see you. And hello, Losing It. Grace, it's great to see you in here. And then Vivian is here as well. Thank you for coming in. And Zombie John, always good to see you, buddy. And hello, Angela.
Angie's Faith. She has a great channel and works out as well. Hello, Brian.
Brian Silver, I think he's one of Julio's people too there. Good to see you, buddy. And Sir Darion. Uh, good afternoon, Grant and everybody speaking.
All right. And I'm just going to get Oh, there's Cookie. Hello, Cookie Jay. Great to see you. And there's Seth, one of my gaming buddies. Good to see you, buddy.
And I believe I've got most everybody that's come in. Hello, Bee Hall. Hello.
He's saying hi to Julio. He's a gym listening. Good. Good multitasking there, buddy. That's great. And hello.
There's my sister Hope there. Thanks for coming. And uh there's Jude from Julio's channel. Good to see you, buddy. Good to see you. All right. And I had one little I think I saw. Well, everyone, I was on the other page with others. I'm going to pop over and tell them to switch. Oh, thank you, Nancy. Yeah, she's talking about the vertical stream. So, as Kend Kay usually says, the party's over on the horizontal. So, come on over. Come on over. All right. Well, as we move on, let's uh kind of shift gears a little bit.
>> Okay.
>> And uh you know, the whole theme today is of course tools. And as you know, none of us are certified nutritionists, none of us are doctors. Uh we all are just here to tell our personal journey.
um through uh and and uh through our lives and we we don't want you to ever just take our word for anything. Always check with your medical team before making any changes in your health uh routines or or medications or anything.
So, uh always keep that in mind.
All right, Paula, when did you realize that the GLP1 medication, whichever one you're on, was a tool, not the entire solution?
Well, um I realized that because I watched some friends that were taking it and by talking with them and speaking with them and realizing that they were also incorporating diet and exercise, I knew that it wasn't a magic pill. Of course, there isn't a magic pill out there, but uh that's when I realized that uh this is just a tool. It's not a beall end all. But seeing the remarkable weight loss that both of them achieved, I was I wanted in.
>> Oh, sorry. I'm muted there. Absolutely.
It is something I think we all want it all in on. Uh Cara, how about you? How when when did you realize it wasn't an entire solution?
>> Well, I was shocked that within 24 hours, I felt immediate relief. Not complete, but immediate change in my inflammation and in my food noise. So I knew this is not going to take away my hunger alto together because I still felt it but it allowed me space to be able to deal with it and make really good choices. So immediately pretty soon after I took the first dose I knew okay this is going to be a major tool for me.
>> Absolutely. Absolutely. Well, you know, kind of to expand on that question, you know, we know it's not the entire solution. It is a tool and it's not a cheat either. I mean, it takes too much work even with this GLP1 to call it a cheat because that's that's one thing you hear a lot of people from outside of the community looking in not understanding the full benefit of this medication. I mean it it it's it's it's like anything like blood pressure medicine or anything else. It's a tool that you incorporate into your life.
It's not just it's not the only solution at all.
>> Uh how about you Liza? When when did you realize it wasn't the entire solution?
>> Was coming to me next.
>> Well, I knew immediately when I first started taking a medication, it worked instantly for me. like my hunger had completely went away. Um, however, I knew that it had to be consistency that was going to, you know, that was going to make the difference in the journey.
So, I definitely knew that realized that it was u the medication uh was a tool, but um I had to make sure that I was building consistency to make sure I see the results that I wanted to see.
>> Absolutely. And it it does teach consistency.
Um, and it it it really helps to retrain the brain for sure. Um, and try to teach new habits. Um, so how about you Trina?
>> Um, I first knew it was a tool like immediately.
um is I was on Zetbound first and then that like really stopped working and I made the decision to switch to Mjaro and I knew immediately that it was a helper.
Um, you know, diet exercise would would do just fine, but it helped them to get to where I needed to be.
>> Absolutely. Absolutely.
And u I'm gonna go ahead and do everybody on this question if that's all right. So, what about you, Candy K?
Well, I knew that the GOP one was definitely working for me because I have never lost this much weight this quickly and consistently. And the thing about it is that I'm keeping the weight off. And I was on 2.5 milligrams of Zetbound and just titrated up to five milligrams of Zetbound. And I'm grateful. I'm grateful that I am consistently losing the weight and not gaining it back. Like maybe up a pound, maybe up a half a pound, but then it you know, the medication absolutely silences my food noise.
>> Absolutely. And that's that's awesome because it you know, everybody reacts differently to it. And it's good that I think most of us here the food noise has dampened quite a bit and the the food depression.
There's the word. All right. Well, let's finish out with you on this one, Mr. Julio.
>> Sure. Sure. So, for me, it was uh it was interesting because I didn't know anything about the medication when I my doctor gave me my doctor gave me a sample box. I just went over there in desperation. Halloween uh weekend 2025 that Monday right after Halloween after binge eating and I didn't have any information on this medication at all whatsoever just the stuff that people you know always talked about you know theic buttic face Hollywood this Hollywood that those things were on the back of my mind so when he gives me his medications says go home and take it I was scared you know of what is this going to do to me of course I was very you know cautious within two hours I was one of the fortunate ones that that food noise was turned off. I always say it's like was like a radio that an annoying radio in the background. Somebody just turned off the volume and turned it off.
So that was the initial shock for me like what's going on? And I did what a lot of people uh do now and I still do.
Uh I dove into YouTube to find out what was going on. I came across a couple doctors. One of them was uh Dr. Rosio Salazuelan and her her explanation that's what made me start to understand and kind of start grasping things and I mean of course I watched endless hours of YouTube and other doctors and things like that and that's that's when I started to fi to find out that it wasn't just going to be the medication that we had to add to it there had to be tools in place and processes processes you know to to be able to do that so that's what I found Absolutely. Well, I uh wanted to kind of notate some things in the chat because I think Ky K asked some of them. Uh Nancy says, "Oh, the meds, Monero, my favorite tool is resistance training." So, there we go. I've become addicted to my dumbbells. That's a good thing to be addicted to it.
>> Great.
>> Welcome in, Shane. I don't think I've spoken to you yet. Great to see you. And Nikki's getting zeppy is here as well.
Good to see you. And TT Trucker, hello to the panel with that big bright smile.
There you go.
Uh yes, if you have any questions, share them with us. Put Q's at the beginning or however you want to notate it so we make sure we we see any questions for sure. Let's see if anybody else answered. Uh hello V Lily. Thank you.
Appreciate that compliment there. Um, oh, Nancy says, "From depression to suppression." New JLP1 phrase. I like it. You have to coin that one. Uh, not that we'll never be depressed again, but gaining a healthier life is such a big help to our mental, emotional well-being. So true. So true. Hello, Deos ways. Great to see you, Har. Thank you for coming.
>> All right. Well, another question to go along with our theme today is what nutrition tool has made the biggest difference in your journey? Now, for me, I actually brought a few samples here with me. Um, literal tools that have really helped me in my day-to-day life.
This is a big one right here.
>> Yes, >> big one right here. And I take, as you can see, the gummies version. I will not choke down the powder if I can ever help it. So, uh, a lot of people do still do the powder. To each his own, but golly, choking that stuff down for me is too hard. So, three of these a day keep you moving. So, it's a big big tool for me. Yes, ma'am.
I just wanted to say so I do I take Mirillax powder and what I do though is I just sprinkle a little bit on all my food. If it's chicken, if it's you know my veggies, my oatmeal, I just sprinkle sprinkle and um that just keeps everything flowing in the right way. So and I I can't taste it. I can't taste it. It's just a sprinkle and everything.
So >> yeah, Mirax is another good one and fiber choice is another one. There are some tasteless versions for sure. Um, but I don't know. I've always been a gummy person. You know, between the these and some other supplements, I just go that route. Um, you know, another tool I use is, of course, protein shakes. And this is the Alani uh 30 gram protein. So, that's one more thing I like. And then, of course, I change it up with Nuri. You know, that's another one that's 30 gram. So, you know, because you get burned out real quick if you stay on the same thing all the time when it comes to those shakes or or anything like that. So, you try to Plus, you know, things go on sale, too.
So, Nur was only $15 this week. So, I'm like, "Hey, I'm doing it."
>> I hear you.
>> Yes. How about you, Carl? What are some other tools you use?
>> Yeah. So, I use Beniber. Um, and sometimes I sprinkle it on food, but I like to do what I called stacked water.
Y'all have heard me say that, stacked water. So, in the mornings when I first get up and start drinking my water, I add to it a lot of my supplements. I take a gummy, too. Uh, but it's a just an all-inclusive multivitamin gummy that's specifically for, um, GLP one users. I was trying to remember the name. I'll come up with it before we're over.
Um, in addition to that, I sprinkle some like the full day's amount of my venaf fiber, my collagen, and my creatine. So, I have my stacked water first. So, I get all that stuff in first thing. And that's in like 64 ounces of water.
>> Wow. And you drink a gallon of water a day, you said?
>> Yes.
>> That's awesome. Awesome.
>> How about you, Julio?
>> I do. uh my protein powders um optimum nutrition vanilla ice cream flavored uh my favorite that I use. I do creatine monoh monohydrate. Yes, >> I add that as well to my protein shakes and that's pretty much um at least every other day of the week that I do uh in lie of breakfast um just in the morning before I go to the gym and um also uh LMT uh uh electrolytes. I do the electrolytes, but I do those like every I would say like once or twice a month. If I start feeling a little bit of a headache or I start feeling like I've been a little dehydrated, I'll do an elementary um uh electrolyte. But that's pretty much it.
>> Awesome. How about you, Miss Paula?
>> If I can get this switched.
>> There we go.
Um, I like Element, uh, the electrolyte and also, uh, Liquid IV. Um, they have a good sugar-free one.
>> And, um, I also love what you suggested, the Alana uh, cookies and cream and Oh, they have other flavors, but I love those drinks.
Yeah, they have cookies and cream and then some kind of like caramel pretzel flavor. And then the one I don't like, but some people do, is is sugar cereal.
I believe it's like supposed to be like Fruity Pebbles, but it doesn't taste like Fruity Pebbles. But >> So, what's a tool that's really helped you in your journey there, Liza?
>> Um, drinking a lot of water. I sometimes I struggle with drinking water, but I at least try to do at least four 16 ounce bottles, which is um considered a half a gallon. So, uh especially keeping my water up and I love protein drinks. Um I try to mostly make them at home. So, I like the Premier Protein, the cafe latte. That's like my favorite one. So doing my protein coffees and my shakes is really that what keeps it going because my appetite sometimes is not as big, but I try to make sure that I at least get a protein drink in and make sure I keep my water up because that's very important.
>> Well, you know, the water is very important and that's going to lead us into another question here shortly. But let me look at the chat here, make sure there's no other comments. Hello, Sherio Julie and everyone on the panel. Hello.
I agree with Nancy. I'm addicted to strength training. Well, again, that's a great thing to be addicted to.
Hello, Steve K. Great. Multiple perspectives. That's that's one of the great things about this panel, buddy.
Um, and then Nikki is saying, "My biggest tool has been the Nourish app."
Okay. My insurance covers it and I can track my meals, hydration, and movement.
Wow. I also get to work with a registered dietitian. Love it. Nourish app. So, it actually covers the cost.
That's great to know. I'll have to check that out. Hello there, low carb queen.
How are you doing today, Kim? It's great to see you, even if you are in the bushes. We appreciate you being here.
Uh, hello, traveling tea. Welcome in.
Um, and then Hello Kard says, "But I just bought some gummies as a backup."
Okay, great.
Don't think I missed.
>> Can I say this, Grant?
>> Yes, ma'am. Go for it. One thing that I've noticed as far, the reason why we're talking about making sure we're pushing a lot of fiber in our diets is because a known side effect is constipation with the continued use of the medication.
>> Yes.
>> So, one thing that as we talk about drinking and consuming so much water as part of our diet, when I'm better hydrated, I have less constipation. When I'm up and moving more, I have less constipation. And so I think it all works well, but you might find that you are going to need some help >> with something over the counter um or something even prescribed by your doctor. So uh for some of the constipation issues. So that's why we're talking about Hyper.
>> Thank you for making that connection. I appreciate that. Yes, the constipation is one of those side effects that's pretty common for a lot of people.
>> Uh let's see here.
And then she's saying, "That's awesome, Kenny K. I never thought I would let uh like, let alone love any kind of exercise." Yes. So true. Now, Nikki, those magrate gummies, but they aren't helping enough. So, I'm starting Mirillax powder. Okay. Gotcha. So, you're going to do both of them or just replace with Mirillax? I'm kind of interested there. You bet. Hello. How are you today? best tool that she uses is one or two profies to help her get in 100 grams of protein and electrolytes.
Yeah, I've heard a lot of people like those profies.
>> Wish I like coffee. I'm just not quite there yet. Uh hello Nicholls 13, welcome in. And then Dariam says, "I know the panel is full of vivacious faces, but did you hit the like button? Did you take time to subscribe to all the pages?" Yes. Keep in mind in the description, if you don't get a chance during the live, after the live, look at the description and every one of our links are in there. So, please feel free to look at that and and join us all.
Hello there, Lisa Brockington. It's good to see you in here. And then Mr. Dam's helping us out putting links in the chat. So, thank you for doing that, sir.
I appreciate your help.
Uh, Debos says, "I actually drink a coffee called Delgatada by Total Life Changes." Okay. It curbs my appetite for about 4 hours. Wow. Okay. Delgatada by Total Life. I never heard of that one.
Thank you.
>> Um, and she's answering my question. I'm going to just do Mirillax and if I need to add gummies back, I will.
Constipation is her biggest medical fear. I've had obstructions. Oh, well, no wonder if you've had obstructions.
Those are terrible. So, keep keep at it there, Nikki. We we appreciate that input. So, as I said, you know, you mentioned water, Liza. Uh how do you make sure to drink enough water, especially when your appetite or thirst is lower?
Hm. Well, first thing I do when I wake up in the morning, I I try to train myself to drink at least one bottle of water. So, I just kind of get that down and then by the time I make it to work, I normally fill up fill up on my cup and just kind of sip that throughout the day. But, uh, and then when I get home, I try to at least have two more bottles of water. So, that's one of the ways I keep up with making sure that I get my water because if not, I won't drink it.
Right. Um, you know, I I have that special cup that I use usually. And you know, one thing that some people don't agree with, but you know, this is for me and it's what does well for me is I actually use the flavorings >> um to help me get the water down. Uh, and they're sugar-free with five calories in each pack. You know, I use the Walmart brand, the Sun-Kissed brand, whatever brand, you know, to keep things from getting boring, you know, because, as I said, you get burned out on things and then you get in trouble. So, you know, we we like to get all sorts of flavors to try to keep me and Christy going going on the water. So, that that's one big tool that I use. Uh, how about you there, Trina? What What do you use to help get your hydration in? Um, just I love water.
Um, I drink a lot of water. Every last single water bottle I have is in the refrigerator right now.
I also use the liquid IV for my electrolytes. Um, I do use the packets also. Um, cuz I don't like just plain water. Like right now, >> right now I'm drinking uh it's a sweet tea packet with water and a few drops of lemon.
And that's what I I do for hydration every day because sodas I put drinking juices. It's just strictly water.
Now, I have a question about the packets.
>> Go for it.
>> Because of course, I use my electrolyte packets, but I found when I use, like Grant and Trina just mentioned, they use the flavor packets, you know, the grape, the, you know, all the yummy flavors.
>> I use those.
>> It makes me constipated >> really.
>> I think it's the all of the dyes and stuff in those packets.
Um, so I just kind of stick with my electrolyte packets and I've kind of weaned off weaned myself off of the other packets. See what you should do is >> what I do is I'll use my water packets and I'll sprinkle some of the fiber powder in the water packets.
Okay, >> that's interesting. Candy K. I've never heard somebody say they got constipated from those. But again, all our bodies are different. So, you got to adapt to way the way your body's talking to you.
And as I got to I got to quote Cara today. You got to become a student of your body. I love that quote. That is the best one I've heard in a while. Um, so kudos to you, Carr. That was a great thought. and we'll go to you next on on if you want to expand on that and and also what you use for water to help you get it in.
>> Thank you. So, I will just give the Lord all the credit for that. These are the the things I share with y'all are the things he shared with me. He's getting me through this. He's helping me to grow and I pray about everything. I ask like, what do I do about this or why is this happening for me? So, that's where that came from. It was just processing. So, I thank the Lord for that. And we are we're all becoming our best friends because nobody can take care of us like us. And we are being a student of these bodies because there's not another one.
Even twins are not exactly the same in the ways that we're talking about. These bodies are unique and we have to dig in and learn what works for us. I love that Ky K shared that because somebody else watching probably experiences that and they feel like it's weird, but it's not.
It's just your body. So for me with water, I probably would agree with everybody so far. I do all the things that you guys mentioned, but I also use Mio and I wanted to like it more because it's really convenient. You know, I don't have to do the packs, but I'm not loving them. So that's just another example of how, you know, we have to figure out what works best for us. It's great to try things because you don't know until you try. But sometimes it's like, well, that's not going to be the thing for me, so maybe I can give it to to a friend or something because I don't want to waste. But yeah, I've gone back to my liquid IVs. And then I sometimes I just put some lemon juice or lime juice and that'll even help me just to and maybe a little bit of alulose, which is a sugar alternative that's good for you.
So, we just got to do what we got to do.
>> Absolutely we do. Um, >> and I want to say something else.
>> Yes, ma'am.
>> To LA, the high vibe coach, cuz she had put out a a thing for a detox water.
And so I I used one, it was pineapple, cucumber, uh, lemon juice, and so and ginger. And I do that once a week. And that is amazing.
So big up to the high vibe coach.
>> Absolutely.
Uh you know Dar says, "Use your flavor packets probably Grant. If they say stop, tell them I ain't doing >> Can I just speak to that really quickly?"
>> Yes, ma'am. Go for it.
>> I'm glad he said that because when you said when you first mentioned that, Grant, >> I just want to hug you. Every time any of us shares what sounds like our old shame, I just want to attack it with love because there's nothing wrong with that. And if other people don't want to do it, that's great.
>> But if you want to do it, that's great.
>> So, I just want us all to like remove the shame. Like there's no shame in that. You're not doing something bad.
You're just doing something that somebody else is not choosing to do. And it's great.
>> I appreciate that, Cara. You you were so right and I I say it to others too, you know. I got to remember that for me, too. You can't just you got to practice what you talk about and and sometimes you you it's hard not to go back into that old man, I heard something against this, but wait a minute, it doesn't matter. It's what's good for me. So, there you go. There you go. Um, so Jude says, "My friend's husband is a pharmacist and he told us he gets his electric lights at Dollar Tree." Okay, there you go. Dollar Tree.
>> I love it. I do, too. I get all mine, most mine from Dollar Tree >> or $125 tree or $2, whatever it is.
Still a lot cheaper.
>> I just added a little cranberry juice to my water. No sugar added cranberry juice. Awesome.
>> Just just to give it a little something different.
>> Well, cranberry cranberries have a good benefit as well. So, that's great. Um, we got Hello, Bear. Bear ate me. I like it. A lot of people really like the loaded tea shop. Mini flavor, zero sugar, carbs, and calories. That's awesome.
>> Good suggestion there. All right, I think that's all the com Oh, gotta speak to Sandra James. Hello. Yes, Gemini Diva. I do that one. Talk about good and feeling better. That's great. That's great. And then Daram did mention if you do if you have hypertension, please make sure to look at the sodium content in the electrolytes, but do what you do for you. Yeah, >> that's a good point. I forget about that sodium. Yeah, so true. All right. Well, let me go ahead and go to the next question since we've had a lot of input on water here. Um, what type of movement works best for your body in your real life? Paula, why don't you take Ellen first?
>> Sure. Um, walking of course is my favorite uh go-to. Uh, I also have added strength training of course. Um, one of the things I've done and continue to do is I park as far away from the store as I can and uh, especially since I have a new car and I don't want anybody scratching it.
But, um, yeah, I've done that for a long time. So, I park as far away as I can and and just walk as much as I can, get those steps in.
That that's such a great, you know, I found that with me, you know, in the parking lot, I don't worry about getting so close anymore because I feel like walking now, you know, I actually feel like doing it. So, great, great point.
What about you, Mr. Julio?
>> I enjoy the gym now. So, I've always wanted to work out. I've always been in and out of the gym throughout my life.
Of course, when I would drop weight, get in the gym, gain weight, get out of the gym. And um ever since I start to took this medication, something switched.
Something inside of me is different. I go seven days a week to the gym. I strength train six days. On Sundays, I just do abs and um uh cardio cardio. So, I do an hour of cardio on Sundays only.
Throughout the week, when I work out, I get on the treadmill to warm up before I start my weight training. So, I'll do between 10 and 20 minutes typically just to warm up. And then I also go sometimes once or twice, but typically I try to go three to four days a week and do jiu-jitsu. I'm a purple belt in jiu-jitsu. Then I practice that um as much as I can. So that's uh that's the main focus for me when it comes to exercise and movement. I do have a walking pad at home and I'll use that when I have those days where I've been sitting around uh editing videos and doing real estate all day. Then I'll get on the walking pad and get some some >> a purple belt in jiu-jitsu.
>> Interesting. Well, Candy K, you got a new mentor there. I think that's what you've been doing was jiu-jitsu, wasn't it? Absolutely not.
>> Oh, I thought you were What was it you were doing? Tai Lady of 50 over here and I some Tai Chi Tai Chi Julio for doing that jiu-jitsu. That sounds amazing.
K is over here doing her slow.
But I do work out with physical therapists. I'm in physical therapy twice a week. And y'all, it's a way I get that as a free medical benefit with my insurance because I am a self-pay zeepbound user. So, my insurance does not pay for my Zepbound, but they will pay for my physical therapy and my dietitionian. And so, they are absolutely part of my healthcare team.
And I lean into all of my benefits. So, y'all check out your insurance benefits >> because you can probably get that stuff for free. And I love being guided twice a week through all of my exercises and with some weights and lots of resistance training with my physical therapist.
>> Well, I think the way you know I I keep moving is like Julio. I do like going to the gym and insurance actually helps me with that too. A lot of jobs will have those programs where they'll at least partially cover it if not fully. So, I mean, it's a it's a thought. It's not for everybody again, but you know, uh, one thing about the gym I had was I was afraid people would look at me, and I've talked about this before, and I think Shaunie's here, and she knows what I'm saying. You're afraid people's going to lock in on you, but they're locked in on themselves. So, you know, if you ever get afraid about that part of the gym, don't be. Just Just do your thing. Do your thing. What about you, Liza? What what do you do to help get this movement in each day?
>> Walking. I love walking. Walking is um how I lost the majority of my weight.
So, I do have a walking pad at home and 90% of the time that's what I'm doing maybe uh five to six days after the week I'm on the walking pad. But I do also like going out to the park uh with my daughter and do some walking there. Um also we play a little volleyball so kind of just staying active. I also have a gym membership, but I really just like going to the gym just to lift the different weights. So, I have started kind of slowly incorporating um strength training. So, but mainly walking. That's my that's my number one.
>> And they say that's one of the best things you can do is is just walk a little bit each day and keep that body moving. No tr no doubt about it.
Uh, one more here. How about you, Cara?
>> So, I was a dancer from 4 to 18. And so, I love ballet. I love all kinds of movement, but I do Pilates bar. I have one at home. I used to love to do Pilates with the reformer, but it's not in the budget right now. It's just not even in my time budget, let alone financial budget. So, I love that I can do it at home. In addition to that, I use chair aerobics, which I watch on YouTube. Ever dance is my favorite. So, those are my two go-tos. And I do those almost every day.
>> That's great.
>> And you know, you talked about chair exercises. I believe Monero Journey with Pam might still be here and she does some chair exercises at home and counter exercises and and all kinds of things just to get some kind of movement in whether you're home or or wherever you are. Well, I wanted to speak to some more people that come in. Hello, Virginia. Lots of lovely faces. I need to follow some of you. So, it's great to see you. Uh Sherio mentioned something back on the water uh water flavor enhancers and electrolytes have artificial sweeteners like cir saklo cirlo thank you help me out on that cause me GI distress. I take reset electrolyte capsules and I just drink water with fresh lemon. See again somebody else has to adapt to what their body can do. Um, hello there Shaunie. Another panelist helping us out in the chat today. Thank you for being here. Uh, CE actually says, "Going for a walk. Connected with those links."
Going for a walk. Oh, okay. He connected with those links for your community.
Thank you.
>> Appreciate it.
>> All right. And then Merro Pam says, "I have learned that there are some of us who like the sugar-free packets and syrup and others who don't and for different reasons, too. And I've tried both natural and artificial. Yeah, those simple simple syrups. Is that what they're called?
>> Yes, >> those things in the bottle. You can Yeah, those are another good choice for flavoring that's sugar-free.
All right, I think that was it. Oh, Darian mentioned a dietician. I recently started seeing one and he has helped me more than I would have thought.
Great segue Nancy into our next question. Uh, what tool helps you manage emotional eating, discouragement or negative selft talk? Sounds like her uh nutrition or dietitian helps a little bit with hers.
Um, so how about you there Trina? How how do you help with your mindset and emotional wellness through this journey?
Um my son, he's on this I'm going to unmake my back cake. So he'll he'll say, "Mom, are you supposed to be eating that? Mom, are you supposed to be doing this? Mom, are you I just hear mom all day and I'm like, okay, no, I'm not doing this. No, I'm not doing that. But my son and my grandkids and my doctor, you know, she'll text me every morning and be like, "Okay, I need you to do this. I need you to do that." And so, just have them just help me out on emotional eating, everything.
>> Yep. Family support. That's one of the biggest ones, no doubt. How about you, Julio? what what what what's helping you with your mindset and emotional uh well-being through all this?
>> You know, I had a a day where I woke up and I was feeling really down. I was feeling that first for the first time and I made a video. I made a video and I just put it out there and the overwhelming response from everybody just sending comments and encouraging me to get you know you're going to get through it and everything and you know I I really really got that support from uh everyone on the channel and it was incredible. That's when I really realized that the community was much more than just a YouTube channel. It was it was something much bigger.
that that definitely uh changed changed a lot.
>> Yes, YouTube community for me has been so instrumental and it still is. I mean, from the start through now my 76th week.
I it's just it's so supportive and and we we couldn't do it as easily for sure without it, but I couldn't do it without it at all at this point. It's just so important. What about you, Cara? Yeah, I would agree. And that's funny. I love that we're all kind of saying the same thing. So, you know, I'm going to say prayer like Jesus is everything and I'm so so grateful for him and all that. But this community has been a shocking >> just like more than surprising, a shocking blessing for me. I didn't know y'all were out here. I didn't know the kind of kindness and love and support was here. You know, I'm like the rest of or most of us probably who have dealt with weight off and on throughout life.
And people are not always kind. And I know that we can have some hecklers and foolishness, but I have had so much encouragement and support. And I'm a person who naturally wants to offer that to people. But to get it in the droves that I've received, it has been mind-blowing for me. And it it means so much. So, thank you. And you guys, even a lot of you on this panel have started before I did. And y'all were here when I was still trying to figure out is this going to work for me?
And you you let me believe that it was possible. So, thank you.
>> Well, we thank you for your contribution as well. I mean, you're you you you just fit right in as we all do here. So, we appreciate you. How about you, Paula Harden?
>> Yeah. Um, I agree with everyone on the uh community, the JLP1 community. It's it's wonderful and the encouragement has been just oh wow, just amazing. But also, I have to put in a plug for my dietician because she has helped me uh just tremendously.
Uh, I have, you know, gotten down on myself and, uh, especially when I'm stuck in a rut and I can't seem to get down, you know, my weight to to go in the right direction and she's, uh, she is a cheerleader and, uh, encourages me and I'm just so thankful for that.
>> Hey, Grant.
>> Yes, ma'am.
And I would say too that I have gotten so much help from a therapist, right?
Because we talk about this is medication that is medically guided prescription medication. But friends, um, food addiction is real. I know that I am an emotional eater. And when things are going well for me, then this GOP1 just works perfectly, right? But then when life happens, there are some things that again you I I I fully lean into the use of my insurance benefits, especially for licensed counselors, therapists, psychologists, and and psychiatrists.
Y'all, whatever you need, it's out there. And that is part of your medical benefits as well. Friends, you can every if you work for a company, a corporation, a school district, anybody, hospitals anyway, then there is an employee assistance program, EAP benefits, and that means that you can see a a licensed clinician absolutely free, multiple visits, and friends, we we're this is a a supportive community.
It is a safe space. of the GOP1 community. But friends, there are also some things that we need to work out uh emotionally with professionals as well. That's all I'm going to say.
>> Absolutely. And there's nothing wrong with that either. You got to do what you need to do. And uh this is an important one I want to hear from everybody on. So Liza, what what do you think? Oh, yes, sir.
>> No, no. I thought you were moving on. I just want to say something before we go, but go ahead.
>> Oh, okay. Go ahead, Liza. What what do you feel?
>> Um on that same question, I would say prayer, uh when I'm having a moments when I'm down, um listening to some inspirational music that speaks to my spirit. Um also just making sure I'm surrounding myself around positive people. And then this wonderful community, I log on and oftent times I see others that are going through the same struggles that I may be going through and I kind of just listen out for their tips and the things that are helping them out. And then lastly, doing something for somebody else. So that always that always takes me out the slump when I'm feeling down is just doing something for somebody else and just putting a smile on their face and that that what makes me happy. So >> that's great. That's great. Well, let me uh look here in the chat. We've had quite a bit of discussion on some different things. Let me point out a few.
>> Julio had something to add to that conversation.
>> Who did? I'm sorry.
>> Julio.
>> Oh, Julio. Yes. Yes. I'm sorry, Julio.
Go ahead. All right. Thank you, Kenny K.
So, no, I just wanted to add um I ju we just got back from the uh uh downsized cruise last month in in June, and that was one opportunity to really spend time with a big group of GOP users. There were 82 of us on that ship and the it was so incredible to see the faces of everyone just smiling and laughing and dancing and sharing and and and you know it really brought uh it was really emotional for me. It's so emotional just thinking about it because, you know, just uh I've spent so many cruises where I was so depressed cuz I didn't want to take my shirt off and I didn't want to stop eating at the buffet. I just wanted to keep eating and and all of a sudden I'm here. I'm on a cruise with 82 other people that don't even have the interest to eat. We're just all sitting here wanting to share and talk and laugh and dance and it was amazing. I already signed up for the next one. I know some of you are going. I I encourage anything. I'm I'm looking forward to uh OAC as well. OAC. Yeah. OAC coming up in just a couple of days here in Orlando.
I'm going to meet a bunch of uh you uh you know GOP1 users as well. I just wanted to add that. I'm sorry. I didn't want to take too much time.
>> No, no apology necessary. That that's another good way to to emotionally make it is by getting around physically others that are going through the same journey, not just virtually here. So, uh, that's that's an awesome point and I'm booked to go as well next year already. So, um, I needed all the time I could get to make payments. Anyways, although it ain't too bad on cost. So, y'all just make sure you check that out with the downsize if you're interested.
Sherio says, I Julio, I say that because I hear you singing in my Oh, you're talking about wanting to play music.
I said I'm not that fancy yet. Uh getting all the confetti and stuff. I need to do that though.
Um Zepy Nikki says, "I do chair exercises with videos on YouTube because of mobility issues. That and exercising in the pool have been my saving grace."
Awesome. You're right, Pam. There is something for everyone. Yes. So true. So true. Let's scan through here a little bit more. Uh she does Pam does 30 minutes, but there are many days that I can do more uh time. So I think that also keeps my body guessing. Okay, there you go. Uh hello Travis. Better late than never. Hey, good to see you, man.
Appreciate you coming. Uh let's see.
Oh, look who it is. It's Barb the metabolic midwife. Sorry I'm late, but I'm here. Good to see you, Barb. We appreciate you. And uh yeah, those are called skinny syrups. Thank you, Pam. I thought they were.
And then uh Nancy says, "May clinic podcast just a few days ago said that learning new dances was good for our body and our brain. Learning the steps while moving causes new neural pathways."
Good to know. I stink at dancing, but I might have to try a little bit. I don't know.
>> You can try dancing.
>> What? What kind?
>> I do want to try pole dancing.
>> Um, >> they said >> you got me on that one.
>> We can't comment on that.
>> There.
I do have a story about Cold Dead Sea.
>> Okay, go for it. Get me out of this.
>> I'll take that one, Grant. about five years ago, me and my friends, um it was somebody's birthday weekend and we all flew in for that and that was one of the scheduled events was a pole dancing class. Thank goodness the person that we booked with did not show up to teach us.
So we went so we just moved it over to a lunch and and we just we just had wine and good food instead.
Apparently you do, Trina. You can burn a lot of calories with >> Yes, you can burn a lot of calories with it.
>> No doubt. No doubt. And and I agree with Sander James. We're glad that you are now connected to community car. So, we appreciate that.
>> Thank you. I am too.
>> Uh let's see. Work day.
Oh, you're cheating a little bit.
Getting out of work a little early before vacation. There you go, Travis.
Uh yes, YouTubers help a lot. You bet. I am a I am at goal and having what now a what now moment but still hanging one day at a time. You bet. One day at a time.
>> That's awesome.
>> Uh Nikki says, "I love this community so much. There's so many perspectives. It's so helpful being only 12 weeks in. You guys have taught me so much and given me hope." Oh, that's great, Nikki. That's great. Only 12 weeks for three months.
Well, you're you're you'll get there.
Just keep trudging on as I tell everybody, don't give up ever. Uh Pam says, "I also have a registered dietitian with Nourish, a mindset coach, and I considered all our GLP1 communities as a support group." Yeah, a mindset coach. Now that sounds good.
Great. Great to know.
>> And check out Norish.
>> Yeah, I'm going to have to. I had never heard of them. Uh let's see.
All right, as I continue to scan, there was one more I wanted to ask here.
Sleep and stress. How have sleep and stress affected your weight loss progress? And what tools help you manage those items? What are you thinking, Liza?
>> Say that's a good question. My sleep has been kind of off lately.
I aim for at least eight hours, but that don't work. I normally get maybe about five to six hours of sleep a night. Um, I keep my watch on to kind of keep track and it's never at the the eight mark every now and then, but sleep is very important because I notice when I'm not getting enough sleep, I'm sluggish and it just energy zapper. So, getting enough sleep is very, very important.
Uh yes. I mean I've talked to several in this community and then outside that said if you don't get enough sleep you could actually stall because your body is working calories off while it sleeps as well. that that rim state and and you know that's why some mornings you get up and you know I think most of us usually go to the bathroom first and take a shower and then hit the scale before dressing and get that true weight if you can and that u if you've slept well you usually see better results there too so it's a it's a great thing to but you know stress will also really affect you I mean um it can alter her your eating habits for the day. I know Christie said before on my channel that, you know, she she's always been a stress eater. Once she gets stressed, she just wanted to do that. So that that it it's important to try to handle not only getting enough sleep, but your stress. But uh what are you thinking, Julia? How do you deal with those things?
>> So I I was uh I'm one of those. I've been on a CPAP machine for 19 years and uh >> Wow.
>> Yeah. So, uh right when I started the medication, right before I bought a new CPET machine, I had to use the same one for 18 years or whatever at that point.
19 uh yeah, 18 years. And that's you're not supposed to do that. So, I didn't realize that, but so had the old dinosaur. I got the new new one and new CPAP machine and the medication and I'm sleeping like a little baby now. Um I was used to like five hours, four and a half, five hours of sleep uh daily and now I'm up to about six and a half, seven sometimes. I'm still want to hit that eight. I'm not quite there yet. And I think I'm probably about another 10 pounds where I may be able to to uh lose the CPAT machine. Of course, I'll have to get retested, but my wife says that I don't snore. Uh I snore very little now, so I may be getting close.
>> That's great.
>> That's great. I was going to ask if you were still on the CPAP because that's that's one progression that a lot of people, including myself, have had is being able to get rid of that thing. And I tell you, I I had the full mask one. I don't know which kind you use, but if I use the nose one, Yeah. I I I'm a mouth sleeper. So, my mouth's always hanging open. So, it would just just go and I'm like, "Okay, full mask time." And then I felt claustrophobic. I'm like, "I'm screwed either way." So, I'm glad I don't have to use that anymore.
>> Oh, man. Yes. Uh Oh, well, go ahead, Ky.
>> Oh, no. I was I was I was saying good.
>> You were thumbs up and I realized that, but yeah, I want to hear your input on the sleep, too.
>> That's amazing. Good for you.
>> Yes. Awesome.
>> Um, but how do you handle Do you get eight hours a night, Kenny, or how how do you do?
>> No, I' I've never uh been able to sleep a full eight hours a night, but I do know that when I have had less sleep, then I don't tend to have um as much weight loss for the week. And so, our bodies need in order to lose weight, even on the medication, you're going to have to get your rest. And y'all, at 50 years old, I am I am I'm really learning to listen to my body. And when my body says rest, that is what I do. And and I'm not talking about rest in the recliner. I'm talking about resting and transferring to the bed and getting a good night's rest so that my body and the medication can do its best work.
>> Absolutely. And I did a big no no last night. I know better than this. But I'm like, you know what? I'm gonna work on a thumbnail before I go to bed in my bed.
That was a mistake because I end up on the laptop in bed and I was wired ever since. And I'm like, "Okay, Grant, again, follow what you tell others, too. Come on."
Oh, man. How about you, Cara?
>> Yeah, I am. Um, I'm gonna blame you guys that I don't get the sleep that I usually get. No, I haven't just rain it in. I just want to support everybody and I want to like be there to be like, "Yay!" on everybody's comments and all that.
>> And y'all have been going later lately with these lives and stuff and I don't have time for No, I'm not mad. I'm joking. But my real life, like when I'm really doing what I do, I go to bed so early that I'm a little embarrassed to say it's like 8:30 because I get up at 5 or 6 at the latest because I have things to do before my day gets going. And when I do it that way, it's bliss. I sleep really well. I get up and have my time with the Lord and then my day goes really smoothly because I don't feel rushed. Because again, all of that, it's not just about sleep. It's also about stress. And we don't realize that when you wake up frazzled and you didn't get enough rest, how stressful it is on every part of ourselves. So, you know, I'm all about we're going to be well, body, mind, emotions, and spirit. And when I don't get my sleep, none of that feels right. So, I'm going back to it.
So, I'm going to have to be in a bunch of replays cuz y'all like to be up all night. You go wonders. I love you guys.
>> Talking to me. Yeah.
>> It's not just you. It's It started with you. But everybody in the last couple of weeks have gone later and later. Kenny K had a midnight.
>> Yeah, she did.
>> I was like I was way gone by then.
>> But I woke up and I jumped on and I was like, I'm here. I'm in the replay.
Oh, well, how about you, Paula? How do you how do you try to get your rest and your de-stressing your life?
>> Well, I'm gonna join in with Cara because you know, I'm trying to support everybody and a lot of night owls out in this community. Uh, I know you know what I'm talking about, Grant, but >> Yeah, I do. I do.
>> Oh, as far as sleep, I'm It's I'm a work in progress there. I'm telling you, um I've noticed that with this medication, I don't know if it's I don't know what it is, but I'm not as sleeping as well.
So, I'm I'm working on that for the stress part of it. Um prayer. Um I'm a musician, so I play the piano. That relieves a lot of stress for me. And Oh, yeah.
>> And then I journal, too. Um, I write things out and that helps me get it out on paper and then just get it out.
>> So, >> that's awesome.
>> Now, journaling for me would be more stress than ever, but she's on there, too.
>> Um, let's see. Nancy says she's going to be at OAC there, Julio. So, yeah, maybe you can try to meet up with her there.
That's awesome. And I did want to speak to someone else. Turtle Diaries. Hello, sweet tea. It's great to see you today.
Um, uh, I live here, but this is a great panel. There you go. Uh, let's see.
Uh, V. Lily did say that she truly enjoyed the downsized cruise. Meeting those who made it helped me solidify that I truly am not alone. There you go.
You are all You all are actually real live people. Yes. Not just virtual AI here at all. Oh gosh, Darion. Okay. What do you say?
>> Holding is amazing.
>> Great strength training, resistance training, >> and core training. It takes a bunch of strength to keep your body on that pull.
It's true, Dar. You're right.
>> We want to see you uh give us a question.
>> Come on, Darion. You know what he's gonna say, too.
>> Let's see. Good point, Nancy. I just started step aerobics and I agree.
Learning the steps and following along is a good for the brain and it's a great workout and a lot of fun too. That's the key. You bring up a good point, Sher.
You got to have fun while you're doing these things and I think that's why YouTube is so we keep doing it. It's it's it's just fun. We love being with each other and talking to each other.
So, um, sweet tea says, "Some of us have done everything in our prayer to stay off.
That was >> I'm sorry if I started to >> and then that's a conversation off of YouTube." Yeah.
>> Oh, wow. And some are making sacrifices to get on the pole.
They're gonna keep this going, aren't they?
>> I am truly sorry.
>> Oh, you're funny. You're good.
>> Segueing here. Uh, Darium has been on the CPAP for 21 years. Wow. I think I was fortunate. I was only on it for about five myself, but I probably should have been on it longer. That's something else that people ignore too long sometimes and I was one of them.
Um Nancy, pull him off to the side of the conference and report back, please.
>> Yeah, you're right, Shaunie. And and Julio brought this up, too. Sleep apnnea does not necessarily go away. That's so true. And you really should get tested to see if really is gone. So, uh you make a great point for sure. Uh Pam says, "My sister has type two diabetes.
She is eight years older and had to use CPAP, too, but all is good now." Well, that's great. Uh let's see. Yes, she she's glad you're going to be retested.
Who? Yes. Shnie has sleep apnnea and doesn't snore anymore after losing 100 pounds, but still has sleep apnnea.
Well, Shaunie is a regur, so she she knows for sure. Oh, hello Rhonda Ross.
How you doing? Joyfully Ever After with Rhonda. It's good to see you in here.
Um, oh, Barb says she can loan us all some of her sleep hours. We'll take them.
>> Sherry says she never realized how important sleep was. I lived off four to five hours like Julio. I think Julio is one that said, yeah, for so many years.
Now I get a good eight hours. I'm also learning to reduce stress and prioritize my peace. That's >> there's a life of Vivie quote there.
Protect your peace and Shaunie said that too. Definitely.
>> U good point, Shnie. High blood pressure, too. We need to be in true in tune with our bodies. Yes, that's true.
>> Let's see.
And Sandra says, "Girl, I'm kneede in sleep with most uh lives when most lives are happening. I woohoo everyone on the replay.
I'm gonna be with you, Miss Sandra.
>> Hard says, "Car, I go between 7:30 and 8:30. Sometimes I catch a live that keeps me up a little later, but most days that is when I go to bed. I get up between 2ish and 4ish and Oh gosh. Yeah, you better be going to bed at 7:30 then."
>> Yeah. Hard drinks had her 5:00 a.m.
lives at time and I'm still seeing them.
So, Oh, Daram told you Candy K. He said, "Midnight Live, I ain't doing it."
>> I I believe it was the weekend though. I want to say >> it was I believe it was. It was either Friday or Saturday Night One. Um I think Julia's next live will be titled Midnight Madness with Julie and I'll be there.
There you go.
>> Oh, let's see.
>> I like that name.
Yeah, it's the left coasters that are always replaced for me. Oh, they are way past my bedtime. The left coasters. Yeah, the the west. Yeah, no doubt.
>> Mhm.
>> Barb, I'll be in bed already and get a little ding from Paul on wheels that he's going live. Yeah, he's usually towards nine. Um, then of course I have to get up to watch because I love his channel. Yeah, I hear you. Uh oh. Uh, Terrell Dy says, "Uh, I silently stop by often. Great job." Well, thank you for for even silently stopping. We we appreciate it. Uh, Darian mentioned, "There are so many ways to journal."
Okay. You can keep voice notes to yourself as a way to capture your thoughts. Good point. I would never remember those voice notes, but at the time it would help.
Um, Barb says, "I just don't sleep through the conference. I am needing many hours of sleep. All I just hope I don't sleep through the com. Yeah. Yeah.
Get caught up beforehand so you can stay up a little bit more with some great people over there. Uh Shaunie says Candy always says the lives are to get new subs and build community. Just go live those that are those that need to sleep or miss it and catch the replay. Watch hours or watch hours. Very good point.
>> Very good point. Um so let's see. Did I have So, I I think I know the answer, but just kind of a quick answer for y'all.
Who holds y'all accountable when motivation is low? Who holds y'all accountable? And I think we kind of went here already, but go ahead and and what do you think, Trina? Besides your children, who who else holds you accountable?
>> Well, they're my biggest ones.
>> Yeah, I understand.
>> Um, just family. They hold me accountable, you know.
They always ask me, "Oh, do you need to eat that? Do you need this?"
So, yeah, they hold me accountable for everything.
>> And that's so important. So important.
How about you, Cara?
>> I was just trying to think that through.
So, I don't get it in that way. I I'm glad Trina gets that and she likes it like that. That would get hard for me if people were following me around like checking everything I was doing. That would feel just hard for me. So, I'm grateful that I have a lot of support, but I love that I'm not on a diet.
>> No, >> let me just say that again. I feel like >> needs I'm not on a diet. This is my life now. And I'm making really good choices like so much of the time. And even when I'm choosing to have something that would not be on diet, I'm not eating it all. I'm not doing anything wrong. So, I am shedding those thoughts of shame that would make me need that. So, like I'm holding myself accountable. I I don't know how else to say. I have people that I can talk to if I'm feeling like I'm having a hard time. And y'all are some of those people. But I'm really just loving my I'm I'm allowing myself to be alive. And I'm loving myself enough to say, "We don't really need that. Let's talk about it." Like, "Let's see why we want that." And as soon as I really think about, I'm like, "I don't even really want it. It's just a habit. It's an old thing that my brain says that used to comfort me, but it doesn't anymore." I'm so grateful for this medicine and for the way that we all talk every day and we're not. So, that's that's mine.
>> That's great. Uh, how about you, Julio?
I mean people for sure but is there anything else that helps keep you accountable?
>> Yeah, absolutely. And you know this is one of those weird moments again through this journey is that when I was down when I had that down moment and the community reached out. It it just just so happened that I was on my computer and I was looking at old videos or old pictures and I find this 2016 video that I had made that I completely forgotten about where I had my shirt off and I was at my worst 285 pounds and I'm supposed to, you know, starting this new journey at the moment of of weight loss and I'm talking to the camera and uh that brought, you know, seeing that moment, seeing that seeing the way I looked. I had a 52 waist at the time. And uh the way I felt, the way my neck, everything, just just looking at myself, I I had this like immediate uh moment of of um appreciation for where I'm at today for for what, you know, for the moment that I was in at the moment. I'm like, man, I really need to look back. And that's something that I've always tried not to do because I've always been told and I think most people are, you know, don't live in the past, you know, live in the present, live in the future, you know, don't live in the past. But that moment changed that for me. That moment made me feel like, you know what, I do want to live in the past because I do want to have that the past there letting me know, look where you're at now. Look where you've come from.
Look how much you're not suffering the way you were suffering. I could see the suffering in my face in that video and and man, it brought so much joy to me that um I I I I I use it now all my videos, just about every video I put that that video in there, a little clip of it just to show and I'm probably going to do a video where I show the entire clip because uh I want that reminder and it's it's you know, so that's something that really helps me greatly, immensely.
>> Absolutely. I mean it you hear that saying forgive and forget. Forgiveness is important in my opinion, but you you can't always forget. You got to learn from those things, too. You can't hold a grudge. I mean, you shouldn't, but you can't just put it out of your mind. So, that you know, that's a great point, Julio. Remembering the past to to grow from it. So true. Well, Liza, do you have any other final thoughts before we before we land a plan here tonight?
Um, just to go back to the the question.
I agree with Tyra. Um, just holding yourself accountable. I'm hearing a little echo, but um, holding yourself accountable and, you know, just having that food freedom. I mean, being able to eat what you want, but then having those talks with yourself when you see you going a little overboard. Do I really need all of this? So, if I want a piece of cake, I'll have that piece of cake, but maybe I'll get a half of it and put the other one out of sight. You know what they say, out of sight, out of mind. So, just making it a lifestyle more than I can't have this, I can't have that, but learning how to uh have things in moderation. So, >> absolutely.
>> Well, what about you, Paula? The question or any final thoughts before we go tonight? What What are you thinking?
>> No, I think that's really good. I agree with both uh those statements. Uh um I I hold myself accountable. I um don't there's no shame anymore. I'm not on Weight Watchers anymore. Um and thank God for that.
>> Uh not that there's anything wrong with Weight Watchers if anybody is on it, okay? It it just wasn't for me. There's so much so many scars from that. But um but yeah, I I hold myself accountable and um I don't look to anybody else to do that except for God maybe. You know, he's the ultimate person I'm account or the being I'm accountable to. But uh but as far as people, you know, I I don't expect them to hold me uh accountable, if that makes any sense.
>> Absolutely.
And Kend Kay, I think you're the last one we hadn't heard of for a minute. You got any final thoughts or anything tonight?
>> Well, I'm just so incredibly grateful for this medication. And it's not just about taking the prescription medication. It's about and it's definitely not a diet. This is this is well beyond a diet because as we all know I I spent my whole life uh being overweight, being obese and if it was about a diet then I wouldn't be at where I am now on again at 50 on an on this final weight loss journey. I'm I'm I'm now determined to lose this weight for the last time. We are using science. We are using the medications, the GLP1 medications.
And now I'm learning that it's not not soothing with food. It's about fueling our body and eating uh appropriate amounts of food. And the medication is it works it works all throughout the body in our digestive tract. It it works in our brain, y'all. There's the science behind it. And it's working and it's it's literally saving our lives. my my blood pressures are so normal now and um I don't have type two diabetes but I I I've taken as many as three blood pressure medications and still had uncontrolled high blood pressure and so I'm just so grateful for the medication and um I I always like to say I'm losing this weight for the last time and feeling so much better. I mean, when we look at those old pictures, like Julio talked about, we looked unwell and and we were not feeling well. We might have been smiling, but we were not well. And and uh with weight loss, you just see and feel so much better. And so, I want more of that. And so, I'm so happy to be sharing this journey with all of you amazing people. I'm >> so true. So true. Well, one more look at the chat here before we go. I uh wanted to speak to Residual Weight Loss. Thanks for coming in. Uh don't worry about being late. There's the replay, but we appreciate you stopping by. Uh let's see. Is there anybody else that was new?
Oh, Minnie on Cam, welcome in.
Interesting. I started my at home fitness journey, so many GLP1 channels popped up, but I'm not taking any weight loss drugs. It would conflict with being on Canadian disability and living with MS. Interesting. Wow. Well, we're so glad you found us, Minnie, and and we hope we continue to encourage you even if you don't get to use this one tool.
Sounds like you're hopefully using others there. Let's see.
Well, hello there, Paul and Wheels.
What's going on? Good to see you, Paul.
It's Paul Amdas Lane. All right. And Daisy says what holds her accountable is tracking and the scale. Now that's that's good point. Very good point.
All right. Well, I think that is about it. So, as we close, I just want to say thank you again for not only the panelists that have been here, but everybody in the chat. Without y'all, we wouldn't have this, obviously.
So, um, we just want you to always remember that this is a tool. Keep it in your toolbox as long as you can. If not, you know, I'm hopefully a lifer here. I don't know about y'all, but you know, keep it in our lives to to help us day by day in this uh, you know, my case, diabetic journey and weight loss journey all together. But I just want to say thank you to uh be well with car for being here. Riding the tide, Julio, thank you for being here, buddy. Uh Paula's journey to health, Paula Harden, thank you. Uh wellness with Liza. Liza MBA, fellow NBA. Good to see you. And then Gemini Diva at 79. Trina, thank you for being here again. And of course, Kenny K all day. We appreciate you continuing to sponsor this and and and help us with this GLP1 live real talk.
Thank you everybody for being here. We hope you have a good week. Bye bye.
on speed.
