[00:00:49]I hope everybody had a great weekend. I had a really really busy weekend.

[00:00:53]Um pool got fixed.

[00:00:56]Uh did some yard work, worked with Augie.

[00:01:00]Uh you know, did all the things that you do on a weekend. I I a lot of outside time uh yesterday and today or Saturday and Sunday. Lots and lots of outside time.

[00:01:13]Um and that's okay. I live in Florida, it was worth it. If you don't know, I live in Central Florida. I live in the Ocala National Forest. Um I am close enough to the mouse that it is convenient but not close enough to the mouse where it's inconvenient. I live out in the middle of nowhere, really. Like yeah.

[00:01:36]Um it's really really nice. Um if you like rural living. But you know what? I'm close enough that within the shortest distance, half an hour, I could be in uh Lady Lake, which is part of The Villages. And um and if you don't know what The Villages is, I'm telling you Google it. You'll be it's hysterical.

[00:02:00]Anyway, I I'm I'm Villages-adjacent. I'm close to Ocala.

[00:02:05]I'm 45 minutes to Daytona. I'm an hour, maybe an hour 15 to Tampa.

[00:02:14]I'm I'm really centrally located.

[00:02:17]So, I get all the benefits of the mouse without having to deal with the traffic of the mouse.

[00:02:23]Um, so I on my video on Friday, I said that I was going to start patriotic projects.

[00:02:34]And I finished one.

[00:02:36]Now, this wasn't a big project, but it was a project that I really really wanted to do. Um Nancy from She's Got Yarn Too, if you don't know her, go check her out. I'm sure you all know her. She was showing um a pillow that she did. And I thought, I want to make another pillow. I've done pillows before. Like, I want to make another pillow.

[00:02:56]So, I wanted to make a patriotic pillow.

[00:03:00]This pillow will be going into my camper um when I get back to Indiana in at the end of the month.

[00:03:07]And I wanted something patriotic-ish.

[00:03:12]So, I picked out a pattern called Oh, what the heck was it called?

[00:03:20]The Freedom Throw.

[00:03:22]But, I didn't want to do the whole throw.

[00:03:27]That's the Freedom Throw right there. I just wanted to do that center part, right?

[00:03:34]So, I did that center part and made a pillow.

[00:03:40]Now, my border didn't turn out how I wanted it to. I wanted it to be more sticky-uppy, but it's not going to be sticky-uppy, but that's okay.

[00:03:47]I'm talking blue like a bluey. But anyway, I love this with the big star and the blue and the red. And then, of course, I needed something for the other side and I didn't want to do this over again. Not that I didn't like this. I just I'm not thrilled with all the big holes.

[00:04:04]So, I did this.

[00:04:08]And if you can see So, I started with 12 into the magic circle.

[00:04:15]And then, where I did the increases, I did a front post double crochet. Kind of like a crown of a hat.

[00:04:23]Um just uh Crystal Bag O'Day, when she does hats, sometimes she'll do this crown where you join front post double crochets on the increase.

[00:04:37]And I just did that all the way out. So, it kind of looks like a starburst.

[00:04:41]So, now we have red, white, and blue on this side. We have red, white, and blue on this side.

[00:04:46]Um this is a pillow form that I got on Amazon. It came in a package of two.

[00:04:53]I don't I had I've had these for forever from when I was doing pillows for the kids for Christmas a couple of two, three years ago.

[00:05:03]Um I made pocket pillows for all the kids.

[00:05:07]And um I had extras cuz I thought I would make them for the for the big kids, too.

[00:05:12]Yeah, I never did that. So, now I have a red, white, and blue pillow.

[00:05:18]Um this is all four-weight yarn that uh is the Hobby Lobby um Crafter's Secret.

[00:05:30]Isn't this tote great? I love the color.

[00:05:33]Tommy, my my middle son, sent this to me for Mother's Day.

[00:05:37]Um I could You could zip it closed and just have the strings come out the top here. I didn't do that. But, these three big skeins barely fit in here, but they did.

[00:05:51]And you can see I used more red than any of the other colors.

[00:05:56]Cuz these two have a lot left. The red's not so much. Um I can get this out of here. Crafter's Secret four weight yarn. Super soft. I love this yarn. I really, really do.

[00:06:07]Um It is There are 810 yd on these balls.

[00:06:13]Uh 100% acrylic It says use a 5 and 1/2 mm crochet hook. I used a 5 mm crochet hook.

[00:06:21]It says pull the yarn from the center. I did do that. Um but lately I'm not a big fan of center pull. Um it just it makes such a mess.

[00:06:30]You always get the yarn barf. And I did get a ton of yarn barf coming out of here. It was just not fun. But anyway, um So I used not as much yellow or yellow. Not as much white and blue as I did the red.

[00:06:46]So I've got plenty to do um another with this yarn another something. Somebody suggested the spinners.

[00:06:57]But if I'm going to do a spinner, I think I'm going to do it out of cotton.

[00:07:01]So that it can be outside.

[00:07:03]And I'm Here I I My plan is I want to do be decorating for 4th of Oh, sorry. 4th of July my camper. I am going back to Indiana at the end of the month. I'm leaving here on the 24th of June.

[00:07:19]Um and I'm going to be in Indiana until like the 10th 8th, 9th, 10th of July.

[00:07:28]Um I'm going to be camping out at the dunes again. They always do fireworks over the lake. And I don't know if they're going to do it on the 4th or they're going to do it the weekend before or the weekend after. It always just depends. I I haven't gotten the official word yet.

[00:07:44]>> [snorts] >> Um but the Umpqua Dunes is one of my happy places and so we're going to I'm going to be out there. The kids are going to come. I'm going to have time with grandkids and it's going to be, you know, good family vacation time. Um and I want to decorate my campsite.

[00:08:04]Obviously patriotic 4th of July.

[00:08:07]So I thought if I made a couple of the spinners to hang off of my awning, that could be really fun. So I think I'm going to um get some I went to look for my red cotton the other day uh on Saturday night and I couldn't find it. I know I have some. It's just everything's just not put away yet and it's really driving me crazy. I'm working on it slowly but surely. I think I only have one more tote left to unpack and that's just like a bunch of boxes and bags, but it's getting there. Um and then once I'm get it all done and get this back to rights, I want to give you a tour of my new yarn room, but in the meantime, I can't find my red cotton. So segue uh Hobby Lobby has started their uh big clearance.

[00:09:05]Uh I've seen a lot of people who have gotten some great deals.

[00:09:10]Um Gilded Loops got some uh Shannon did another yarn got some. My friend Joe got some.

[00:09:22]Um I've I've seen a lot of people doing it, saying that they got the Hobby Lobby yarn.

[00:09:29]I don't know if I want to go. I Guys, I I have I don't have room for the stuff I have. But to pass up the Hobby Lobby sale is like it's almost like sacrilege. It's like you got to go. But I can't I I really don't need it. I I have to go out again today. Uh Augie is going to the groomer's for the first time.

[00:09:58]And the groomer's just happens to be just around the corner from Hobby Lobby.

[00:10:02]And I'll have 2 hours to kill. So I was like, should I go to Goodwill? Should I go to Hobby Lobby? Should I go to Goodwill? Should I go to Hobby Lobby?

[00:10:11]I don't know what I'm going to do.

[00:10:13]Uh I'll let you know tomorrow if I um when I figure out what I'm going to decide to do. But anyway, um I need red cotton for sure.

[00:10:25]Uh Sydney, my oldest granddaughter You guys this cracks me up.

[00:10:32]She's moving into her very first apartment. Um her and three of her friends will be moving into an apartment off campus this year.

[00:10:42]And um they want to decorate. I swear they're they're they're 1990s grandmas. They want geese and apples and all the things that we decorated our country kitchens in the late '80s, early '90s.

[00:10:58]That's what these girls want to decorate their house as. And I just I makes me giggle so hard cuz I'm like, damn if I just hung on to all that stuff I had back then, I could have just given it to her.

[00:11:11]Um [snorts] I have been thrifting some things for her. I'll one of these days I'll show you some of the really cute things that I picked up for her that are apple themed. But she found a pattern for a um apple like pur- purse.

[00:11:31]Here it is.

[00:11:33]And she would she is asking me to make this for her.

[00:11:39]Isn't that cute? There's a version of it. Let's see if I can get this picture up.

[00:11:46]I think I'm going to make this version of it because it's got a leaf and a little worm.

[00:11:53]And [snorts] one of the straps, she did little teeny uh granny squares. Yeah, I'm not going to be doing that. I think what I'm going to do is um i-cord. I'm going to make a big thick i-cord for the for the strap. Um and I'm also going to try to line it. Um I found some yarn and I think I'm going to try to line it.

[00:12:21]Uh or some fabric, I mean.

[00:12:23]I've [snorts] never done that before. Um but I think I want to Well, I don't have a sewing machine, so I'm going to have to hand sew it. But I will try to line this for her. So, I'm going to start working on that here pretty soon cuz I want to have that done um before I leave at the end of the month.

[00:12:43]So, anyway, uh Hobby Lobby, you know, if you have a Hobby Lobby and you're lucky enough to grab some of the yarn, I bet you by the time I get there this afternoon, his appointment isn't till 3:00 this afternoon. If they had any, I'm guessing it'll be gone by the time I get there. Um people tend to to go overboard on a Hobby Lobby clearance.

[00:13:05]They they clear out that especially the acrylic, the I Love This Yarn. They they clear it out and um so, I'm I'm not very if I go, I'm I may not even attempt to run in there, but I It's like, "Uh, do I miss it? Do I miss it?"

[00:13:24]>> [clears throat] >> One other um housekeeping thing.

[00:13:30]Um I have had a ton of people requesting to be a part of our Facebook group of Nina's Knots Crochet.

[00:13:39]And I have had to turn down for every one person that I allow in, I've had to turn down at least three because people aren't answering the questions. So, if you have recently submitted a request to be a part of the Nina's Knots Crochet Facebook page and did not get accepted, it's because you're not answering the questions. The questions aren't hard. I just want to know if you're a crocheter or a knitter and if you'll follow the rules. And if you don't even want to tell me if you're a crocheter or a knitter, but say you agree to follow the rules, I will let you in. But, I want to keep my Facebook page a safe troll-free space. I don't want people spamming and scamming. I don't want extra uh links put in and, you know, I don't want other pages advertising on my page.

[00:14:33]You know what I mean. This is for us to talk about all the things that we're doing. People having questions. One of my subscribers, I noticed today I noticed a post, she's going to Amsterdam and she wanted to know if anybody knew what of a a good yarn shop in Amsterdam.

[00:14:47]I'm like, damn, I want to go to Amsterdam.

[00:14:49]Um so, you know, and a lot of people are posting things about buggy and there's a lot of really good community spirit on this page and I want to keep it that way. So, I'm very particular about who and I let in and that is the reason why I have the questions up. So, if you don't don't answer the questions, I sorry, I'm not going to let you in. It is it's just it's a safety thing. So, anyway, guys, I'm going to let you get back to it. Um me and my pillow.

[00:15:55]I did take him in the car this weekend a couple of times. I took him to the dump with me. He's coming up to say hi. I took him to the dump with me on Saturday.

[00:16:03]Um so that he could get used to being in the car.

[00:16:21]Talk to the vet, his his skin's too pink and being in Florida he needs the buffer of the hair. So, um yeah, he needs it.

[00:16:30]So, but he needs it out of his eyes. He can't see the poor thing.
