The hosts offer a grounded reality check to high-brow critical consensus, proving that visual creativity is no substitute for a coherent story. Their honest confusion highlights the growing disconnect between professional film snobbery and the actual audience experience.

I Love Boosters - movie reviewAñadido:
Hi everyone.
>> Hello.
>> It's Linda and Michelle. We're back.
>> It's been a little bit of a while.
>> It has. It's been since midweek last week. It's been almost a week.
>> That's true.
>> Probably is a week. Yep.
>> Um I'm back home after babysitting my grandson for the weekend. Heading out again this coming weekend. So, we're going to get a few movies in before I disappear again. But today, we went to see I Love Boosters.
Had no idea at all what we were going to see.
>> And kind of I still don't have any idea after seeing it to be perfectly honest.
It It was a crazy movie.
I It was very colorful, very amusing. in many ways.
>> Creative, >> very creative. Um, but and it I there was a story there, but it took me a while to get what the actual story, main story was, but um there were a lot of pieces to it. I thought we're like jumping around from one thing to another thing. But uh >> my first question is is boosters a real thing or did they make that up for this movie? Like have you ever heard of a booster before?
>> Tell me. I've never heard of it. Obvious is it's a shoplifter who resells, but I did not know that. And maybe nobody knew that.
>> And this was this was beyond shoplifterss. Maybe that's why they're called boosters, cuz they would kind of take half the store out with them >> to resell.
>> This was this was a crazy movie. I mean, I guess the moral of it is is that we don't want to >> um have, you know, underpaid labor, shop labor, whatever you call it. Um, you know, performing >> eventually that countries. Yes.
But here's I'll tell you what I thought.
>> Tell us.
>> When The Teleporter came out, I had flashbacks >> to that movie a couple of years ago that was an Academy Award. Might have been a winner called Here, There, and Everywhere or something like that where that girl was teleported to different time um realms throughout the universe.
Um, I hated that movie. You liked it.
>> Did I have to think about that one?
>> But I think that's the first thing that came to my mind. Then I continued to watch it. And maybe it wasn't called here, there, and everywhere, but it was something like that.
>> Well, let's explain. Those teleporters were basically teleporting clothes.
They were taking them from one store and sending them back to China or sending them to their apartment to sell which um but then we found out these teleporters had other things that they could do.
>> Yes.
>> Kind of scary things.
>> And then the next flashback I had was to another movie that we saw years ago. And I know there's been a lot of these type of movies over the years and they always get great reviews and people love them.
I never get it, but it was called Get Out.
There's been some of those there's been some similar movies over the years. And >> was that another one where they went like a teleport?
>> No, it was just a movie that made no sense to me.
>> It made sense to a lot of people. I remember your daughter loved it, >> but uh it never made sense to me. Um this never made a lot of sense to me either.
>> It really didn't.
>> I mean I it was extremely creative and the only reason we went to see it truly is because some of you suggested we see it. So we thought, okay, we'll give it a shot. But there was one person, to your credit, I don't remember who it was, but there was one person that said, "It's a great movie, but you're probably not going to like it." You were correct.
>> But but you know, the the only thing that kept me going, I think, is there were a lot of funny parts in it. Like really crazy >> crazy funny >> crazy funny. Yes. Yes.
>> Yeah. I sat through it. It held my attention. I just was spent the majority of the time trying to figure out what this is really doing. Like what's really going on here?
>> Um I don't know. Great acting.
>> Yeah, that the only real actress I knew was Jimmy Moore.
>> Well, I we've seen a lot of movies with those actresses.
>> I don't recall their names, though. Um, but I also had a flashback to the substance and Demi Moore in that and thought >> she plays some weird movies.
>> Um, yeah.
>> But anyhow, >> tell us about it. Tell us what you walked away with. What did you think when you were like walking out of the theater and talking to your friends about it? What were you saying? Were you walking out saying, "Boy, that was a great movie." or we walking out saying, "What did I just see?"
>> Yeah. Some of the parts were were like really crazy, like that the house, that building that was tipped over and the people were sliding.
>> Those were the funny parts. I mean, yes, >> they were the amusing parts.
>> Oh, that's really cool though that they they some of the stuff that they did was, you know, beyond my imagination, >> you know, really. I could never have thought of some of the stuff that happened in that movie.
>> I don't know. It It just was I don't know. How are you going to rate it?
>> Oh, Linda, there's When they When they're like this, it's so very hard >> because I looked at Rotten Tomatoes.
>> I want to say a two.
>> Okay. I looked at Rotten Tomatoes and they gave it 92, I believe.
>> Wow.
>> Like really? And the people that that was the reviewers, the people was like close to that. And it's like I feel like we really should like love this movie.
We should get it. We should understand.
Maybe it's just the creativity and the directing and that we're not like tuning into >> perhaps. But I mean I mean the parts like that I did like was the uh the clothes and the pres, you know, all that kind of stuff was >> was kind of amazing. But as far as the whole movie put together, >> those actresses were beautiful at some of these scenes. Some of those outfits that they had on, I know um I don't know a lot of their names either, but Kiki Palmer is one of them, and she looked stunning. I think she was the main >> She looked absolutely stunning at times.
Some of those clothes were absolutely gorgeous.
>> Yeah. Oh my god. Yeah. Like amazingly run runway style things that you would probably see.
>> And the scene with the boyfriend who sucks the soul.
>> Oh my god.
Anyhow, we are going to see some like really good movies in the coming days. So, um we'll be back soon, but until then, please >> Hey, tell us the number. What do you give it?
>> Okay.
>> 2.5.
>> Okay.
>> All right. We're We're in the same ballpark.
>> It's getting the extra.5 for the creativity.
>> Yeah. Um, I know some of you loved it and and you know, absolutely. Movies are made for different people.
>> We're just old people.
>> Maybe maybe >> theater had a lot of young people in it.
We're just old people. Anyhow, um, thanks for watching and, uh, have a good evening and we'll >> see you in a day or two.
>> Yeah, we'll catch you soon.
>> Bye bye.
>> Take care. Bye.
