Particles do not 'pop in and out of existence' as commonly misunderstood; instead, they exist in superposition (being in multiple locations simultaneously) until measured, at which point they appear at a specific location. This phenomenon is often misinterpreted as particles disappearing and reappearing, but it actually represents the probabilistic nature of quantum mechanics where particles can be found anywhere within their probability distribution until observed.

No! Particles Do Not Pop In And Out Of ExistenceAdded:
People have been asking me to do more science videos, but not educational ones, funny science, which I mean, come on. What?
Anyway, uh here's one. Here's another one I hear all the time, and it drives me nuts. As somebody who studies quantum mechanics as a hobby, you know, I'm not a professional.
Uh, I dabble I dabble in quantum mechanics. It drives me nuts when people say the phrase particles popping in and out of existence.
It drives me nuts when people trying to who've got some health scam where they're like, "Hey, here's my health routine." But, you know, it works cuz I understand quantum mechanics. Yeah, I'm a health nut who also knows science cuz I mean, you know, listen, you want to follow my things because did you know that there's particles that pop in and out of existence? I know about it. So, you should buy my product. Also, you should look at the sun more.
Those people drive me nuts. But also real scientists who I know know better who will say the same thing because it just sounds better. Neil deGrasse Tyson, you're running around like, "Hey, yeah, particles pop in and out of existence."
I'm like, you know, that's not what's happening, but you say it because it sounds fantastical.
So, I'm here to set the record straight and tell you what's really happening.
No, particles are not popping in and out of existence like they go into another universe and then they come back or they go and they visit God and then they come back. No, that's not what happens.
Here's what's happening. And no, here's the here's this truth. I'm gonna redpill everybody about quantum mechanics.
Here's the truth. You can't handle particles such as electrons, let's say.
What they discovered is that they're not in one place all the time. They're everywhere all at once. So, you could have an electron that's right next to its nucleus or it could be on the other side of the universe. That's just the way it works. I don't know. I didn't make up the rules. God did.
But because of that, let's say you're trying to measure uh an atom or whatever. And you have the atom inside of a box and you go and you measure it and you go, "Oh, there's the electron inside the box." And then you go and measure it again and there's no electron in the box. And then you go and measure it again and the electron's back in the box. And you as a stupid person would say, "Huh, the particles are popping in and out of existence." Except for if you're so stupid, why are you doing quantum mechanic experiments? I says to you.
So instead, what really happens is when they measured the second time and the electron was not in the box, it was just outside the box. That's it. It's that's it. No big magic. It didn't go into another universe. No, it just was outside the box. And then they measure it again. It's inside the box because electrons can be any the any of the old whatever they want to be. I mean, people who are running around saying that particles pop out in and out of existence are also people who would easily be fooled by the game Peekaboo.
Like if somebody's in a in the living room and they're like, "Hey, there's Dave." And then they look away and they go back and, "Oh, where did Dave go? Oh my god." And then they look away again and I'm back in the room. They're like, "You just popped in and out of existence." I'm like, "No, I didn't. I just went to the bathroom. What are you talking about?" Well, you know, I looked, you were there, and I turned my head, you weren't there. So, obviously, the obvious thing is that you popped out of existence. And then when I looked back, you were there again. So, you popped back into existence. So, what where was this other world that you went to? And I says, "Well, it had a sink and a toilet because I didn't go anywhere. I just wasn't in your sight. Doesn't mean I popped into existence, you dummy."
So stop running around scientists who I know you want to like get people to clickbait on your articles or you want you know the layman to follow you and listen to what you're saying but just be real about it cuz that I hear it all the time and it drives me nuts to the point where I start to question myself where I'm like maybe I'm wrong. I mean, I hear people who obviously know what they're talking about keep saying popping in and out of existence. And even though I know that's not the case, yet this person is a quantum physicist. So maybe I'm wrong.
Maybe me, the comedian who learned everything from podcast is wrong. And then I run to the internet and I, you know, I do research and I do out the I do the mathematical formulas and I'm right.
and they're just doing it because it just sounds better. You know, that also exists for entanglement. Oh boy, do they really stretch the truth on entanglement, which is something I'll have to get into at another point because I don't have the energy to get into it right now.
