Google's New AI Search: Everything You Need to KnowAdded:
So, if you open up Google right now, search looks a little it's subtle, but it's there. AI mode. And these are the first ship changes in what Google is calling the biggest upgrade to the search box in over 25 years. And it's out now globally for everyone. So, in this video, I'm going to walk you through the four things that are different right now, starting today, and how to actually use them to your benefit. So, here's the deal. Search is becoming a lot more like a conversation now, rather than you just typing in keywords. This new conversational mode, I would call it, is available through this button right here that says AI mode. But the important thing to note is if you want old Google, which is gives you the results, well, it's still there.
All you need to do is press this Google search button or use enter on your keyboard. Both of those still activate the old search. Here's the four new things that changed. First of all, this box is dynamically expanding as you type. So if you have a long messy question that is more than just a few keywords, you can just keep on typing and the box will keep on expanding. This feels a lot more like a chatbot prompt box as you might be used to from chat claude than traditional Google search.
Okay, so that's basic. But what else did they add and what is actually useful?
Well, I think this plus button hides a lot of the new functionality that you might want to know about because now you can upload images, files. Heck, you can create images straight from here or access the Gemini models in here all from this plus button. So, if I decide to upload this recent YouTube thumbnail of ours and ask what the hell is going on in this thumbnail, it will use the AI to actually analyze the image for you.
And this is really like a shortcut straight into their Gemini interface, which if you're still not familiar, it's the competitor to Chat GPT and Claude.
And the engine behind all of this is Google's new Gemini 3.5 Flash model.
Basically as smart as the other Frontier models, but faster. So beyond just uploading files and working with them right away, as you might already be used to, here's another thing that changed.
If you get an answer from this Google AI, you can actually continue the conversation. Now, this is different from the Google AI we had before where it just gave you an answer and that was it. Now, you can see this opens into a full-fledged well chat experience. So, if I look at all of these Indian restaurant recommendations, you could ask something like if you had to pick one Indian restaurant, which one and why? And it will actually give you a concrete answer rather than 50 options.
And because we're doing this within Google search, of course, it builds in the articles that it gets from the actual Google search. So the more questions you ask, the longer the conversation continues, the results get more relevance to what you're actually asking about. This tool is live on desktop, mobile today, worldwide. And hey, real quick, if you find this helpful, make sure to subscribe to the channel. Make multiple videos like this every week. Now, let's look at the next one. Now, here's the fourth point, and this is where it gets really interesting because they integrated something they call Google Personal Intelligence into Google Search. What this means in plain English is that you can securely connect apps like Gmail, Google Photos to AI mode in Google search and then ask questions across your own stuff. So instead of digging through your inbox for that flight confirmation from 3 months ago, you just ask. Instead of scrolling through photos to find that one picture from your trip, you just describe it right there in Google. It's connected already. They're also adding Google Calendar soon, so it really is starting to turn into more of a personal assistant rather than just good old Google. Now, I want to make it clear that you're in control here. You choose if you connect anything at all and which apps. Nothing is on by default. And this fourth point really is showing you their vision for Google. And I think these changes really matter. Why? Well, search is the most used product on the internet, period. And today, without most people noticing, it became way more capable. The way you ask questions changed. The way you follow up changed and the stuff Google can actually reach into with your permission changed too.
You don't need to download anything. You don't need to learn anything new. You just open Google like you always do. The tool is different. So over time they plan to expand this to all users making it free. But right now, if you're on the Pro or the Ultra plan in the US, well, this AI mode can now generate interactive visuals just like this one, which is essentially a mini application, or in other cases, it can also make custom websites as a response to your search. That's more than just links, and it's kind of neat. So, here's my recommendation. Next time you're slightly unsure what you want from your Google search, treat it more like a friend that you would ask in more than a few words. And if you don't love the results, continue the conversation just like you would with a friend. And maybe this is just me, but rather than getting 50 Indian restaurants to pick from, I'd rather get free with reasoning on why I chose them. And you can do all of that today. But this is just the beginning because they announced that throughout this summer, they're going to introduce some features which go above and beyond what I just showed you. They're going to have agents in search. They're going to have many applications built in. They're even going to have Google literally calling businesses on your behalf just from a search. You'll even be able to set up Google searches that scan the internet regularly and if something changes, it notifies you on your phone.
All of that and more is coming. This is just the first step of Google turning the good old Google search into something that is a bit closer to the AI assistance you might already be using.
And in case you wonder, eventually all of these apps are going to merge into one thing, which is going to be your ultimate AI agent assistant with world knowledge, something like Jarvis from Iron Man. So there you go. My name is Igor and I hope you have a wonderful
