25 Years Addiction to 1 Year Clean: My True Story

[00:00:00]I believe that I can give our clients a lot at this stage, right? I can see somebody or I spent 25 years in active addiction.

[00:00:08]Um, you know, I first picked up marijuana when I was 13.

[00:00:12]I first started smoking heroin when I was 14.

[00:00:15]Shooting it up when I was 15.

[00:00:18]Got locked up when I was 16. That's my story. Um, and you know, I done 9 months there in YTC back in Victoria.

[00:00:27]Um, I got out, got on the methadone.

[00:00:29]Right?

[00:00:31]I spent about almost, yeah, about 15 years I was a heroin addict for 15 years, right?

[00:00:39]Um, I was on some sort of opiate replacement for I think 17 years.

[00:00:44]>> Right? Um, so to be almost a year clean today, >> Yeah, congratulations.

[00:00:49]>> Right? So I can actually, it makes me emotional.
