So this is kind of like a mock lymphatic drainage massage. I think lymphatic drainage massage is really underutilized in orthopedic [music] settings. So this type of treatment was developed for cancer patients who have had lymph nodes removed and have trouble evacuating swelling from their extremities. We can adapt this in an orthopedic sense in exactly the situation I'm using it for now, which is like a post-op setting where we have a lot of swelling in the in the knee from this ACL reconstruction. We can't really move this leg a whole lot. So today we're just going to focus on teaching and just getting rid of some of this swelling, just helping her evacuate it, which will reduce the pressure, reduce the pain, and reduce the reliance on pain medication.
