The reticular activating system (RAS) is a neural network in the brain stem that acts as a filter for attention, determining what information gets prioritized by the conscious mind and what gets ignored. Since our brains receive over a million bits of sensory information every second, this filtering mechanism is essential for comprehension. The key principle is that whatever you focus your attention on, you will see more of—your brain literally becomes a magnet for what you repeatedly think about. This explains why manifestation works: it's not magic, but neuroscience. If you're looking for opportunities, you'll find them; if you're looking for reasons to fail, you'll find those instead. Success requires programming your mind to think about and care about productive things, as passion and motivation ensure your brain chemistry and neurons fire continuously toward your goals.

your brain only sees what it’s looking forAdded:
So, I've been studying this thing where literally your brain will only see what you're looking for. And I've kind of already knew this just like nonverbally before I started studying this concept called reticular activating system. But it was kind of cool that literally our brain and our body has a specific function that does this.
So, the reticular activating system in your brain almost acts like a search engine for your entire life and your reality. I'm not trying to get too woo woo here, but it literally is a network of neurons in your brain stem that acts like a filter for your attention. It helps determine what information gets prioritized by your conscious mind and what gets ignored. Because our brain receives over like a million bits of sensory information every single second.
And so if our brain and body did not have this function, we literally wouldn't be able to comprehend anything because there's too much data coming at us. So we have to have a filtering mechanism. And so this relates to kind of how I believe we live in a simulation of sorts and almost how we can manifest or bend our own reality because we all have the same [ __ ] going on in this world. We all have the same content available to us on the internet and social media. We all have the same trees and cars and people on this planet.
However, some people are just able to capitalize on it better than others.
Why? because they're filtering their reality differently than you are. For example, if as a kid you ever played the punch buggy game where you're driving on a road trip with your parents or your friends or whatever and you play this game where every time you see a punch buggy on the highway or on the road, you call it out. Punch buggy, no punch back or whatever, you punch the other person and that's all you do. You just try and look for punch buggies on the road.
However, if you weren't playing this game, I don't even remember the last time I've even seen a punch buggy. But once you start playing that game and you focus your attention on trying to find this punch buggy or a red car or just a specific color or a type of car, you will find it. It's almost like the simulation or your reality starts to create or it feels like it's creating that within your world. However, it was already there. It's just that now you're seeing it. So the premise here is whatever you focus your attention on, you will see more of. In fact, X or XXXTX Tentacion, who became a legendary artist to many and whether or not you agree with his success or not, he definitely had a cult-like fan base. His music and just words in general spoke to a ton of people. But he discussed a lot of ideas relating to manifestation, law of attraction, and programming your subconscious mind. He even used it in a lot of his music where he would play certain tones to give a certain feeling to the music. But regardless, he was a huge believer that your universe essentially responds to what you're focused on, which is exactly what we're talking about. And I think that's all manifestation really comes down to. It's just a lot of people think that if they just dream about something, it will happen. That's not true. There's real neuroscience behind it. And you can definitely tell all of the nuance and thought he put behind every single one of his viral social media posts, albums, and music. He was very calculated with everything. But that's how you have to be to accomplish everything you want in this life. And if we relate this back to business or success or just fulfillment in life, if you're looking for reasons that you'll fail, you will fail. If you're looking for opportunities, you will find those, too. And that's why I preach a lot on this channel about hyperfocus and extremism because we all have bits of time in which we are searching for something whether that is like a way that you can make more money or find more opportunities. But I think that the reason a lot of people fail in this aspect is because yes you might be focused on that in that time period this short time period. However, you're actually distracted. Like, I can't read a book. [laughter and gasps] Not that I can't read, but because when I'm reading a book, I'm focused on so many other things outside of reading the book that I literally can't even like comprehend the words in front of my face unless I'm actually super interested in it. I'm always thinking about like, oh, I need to do that later on today or for my actual main goal, which is growing a YouTube channel or business acquisition or whatever. And whenever someone talks to me or I'm online, I'm constantly without even trying just because again I'm trying to grow this channel and I'm trying to find businesses to buy or make more money. Everything always relates back to some sort of aspect to make money because that's what my brain is always filtering for. So you may be reading books or on social media or doing something trying to figure out a way to make more money. However, you're probably distracted because you're playing some sort of video game in which all you want to do is get some work done so you can go back and play 2K or Rocket League. I do this too, I know. But subconsciously, you're still distracted.
That's why I always talk about mindset on this channel because everything always comes back to what are you subconsciously striving for? And you can't fake that. You can say all you want to other people that you want to do things, but what is it that your brain is truly filtering for in this reality?
It's almost as if like your goals are instructions telling your brain what it needs to learn or what it needs to look for. And this isn't something that you can just consciously choose in your life. It has to actually be ingrained within you. And that's why I feel like most people are actually doomed because I get so many messages from people or emails or DMs, whatever. People ask me what they need to do. And it's like, well, I could tell you the sauce on how to do things, but ultimately it's going to come down to, are you actually going to do it? Are you going to be consistent? Is it is it literally you to actually do the research and filter all of the millions and millions of bits of information on a daily basis or every single second to figure out what you need to do. Because if you're asking me what you need to do to make money, I can give you all the ideas in the world, but ultimately if you're asking me when you have the entire internet of unlimited information on how to literally do anything, then you're already doomed.
Because what that tells me is that you don't have the motivation to do it on your own. You need somebody else to hold your hand. And if someone's holding your hand to actually do something, then you don't actually want to do it. Like your brain becomes a magnet for whatever you repeatedly think about. And if you're not repeatedly thinking about making money or becoming successful or whatever, then it's not going to happen.
Or at least someone else is going to do it better than you because they're constantly thinking about it. And not even consciously, like subconsciously before they go to sleep, they're popping up with ideas while in the shower even of, "Oh, I have this cool idea that the Knicks are in the finals, so we're going to create a cool t-shirt design that says, I need money for Knicks tickets or something." And go to the game, take some pictures with the fans because the Knicks fans are crazy. We're going to post Tik Toks about it and everything.
So, if they continue to be in the finals, we are going to sell t-shirts, maybe run ads on it. Like, there's a million things you could do, unlimited things that you can do to make money.
There is no cheat code. And that's why, again, I think that you have to be a workaholic or very extreme because this isn't something that can be taught. This is programmed within your reticular activating system as to what you are literally paying attention to on a second basis. So whatever you're looking for, whether it's success, failure, opportunities, excuses, you will find them. I know hella people that say they want to be successful, but then when they actually start working on something, the whole time they're thinking about, oh well, like I'm not going to do it because of this could happen and that could happen and that can happen. But if you literally just flip that and say, "Well, yes, that could, but like it could also make a ton of money and yes, we'll run into issues, but I know that I'll be able to figure it out because I'm constantly filtering for solutions." And that's why shower thoughts are such a thing because you're not even trying to think about something, but an idea will pop up in your head subconsciously. Even like if you're still in school and you couldn't figure out how to solve a math problem, randomly you'll figure out like, oh wait, this is how you do it or here's an easier workaround. So you almost just have to program your mind into thinking about and caring about productive things. That's why I think passion and motivation and inspiration are some of the main factors to become successful.
Because you can meet Jeff Bezos and he could give you like the sauce on how to build a billion-dollar company, but if it's not in you to actually continue doing that cuz it might take 3 to 5 years to do it, then you're not going to be successful. That's why most successful people are pretty much successful at everything they do.
Because when they have that goal in mind, it is everything they think about.
Their brain chemistry and neurons are firing at all times to accomplish this goal. So again, your brain only sees what it's looking for. And if you're not where you want to be at in life, it's probably because subconsciously being successful isn't actually your main goal. You're probably distracted with girls or going out or having too much fun or whatever. If you truly wanted to manifest something into reality, then it will happen. It's already programmed into our brain. But with all that being said, it's been your boy Bob Lamb signing off. Reverse engineering my own brain chemistry so we can make more moola together.
