We scrape off the run and we got the winning run at third base. Ground ball down the first baseline and Spencer Torson makes a great defensive play. Sends it to extra innings. The Tigers score a run in the top of the 10th and then we have a man on second. Don't advance him. The first two batters just a terrible job.

We were clowning Jeremiah Love about him not knowing NF current NFL players and Hall of Fame NFL players, you know, >> but we got a chance to watch the full interview and in watching a full interview, we felt like it was some things that we can discuss today.

[00:12:19]Armor Rah St. Brown is basically trying to trash Notre Dame in South Bend, >> right?

[00:12:27]>> Like what's like what is in what is in not South Bend? Like there's nothing to do like >> and it's crazy one. It's your brother that's sitting right next to you went there too. So I, you know, >> kind of Yeah. Equinimius kind of stands up and says, "Yo, man, like what what was your most fun thing to do? What was the most fun thing to do for you when you were there at at Notre Dame?" And uh this is how the conversation went.

[00:13:03]Like Yeah. Like what is it to do in South Bend? Like for real. Besides play football, >> it's fun.

Look, >> and the Notre Dame fans don't get upset and Jeremiah Love is like, "Yo, I mean, yes, if we're talking about the city and he told EQ, I mean, he told Ahmed Ra, bro, you're not going back to USC. You going back to LA."

[00:14:30]Yeah, that but that's you know it's too many things to do in LA. The SC game is just like if you if you want to take >> Yeah. I just want to just chill for a second. Let's pop over to the game. You know, South Ben Yeah. Okay. That's easy.

[00:14:46]During the season, football is the main thing. Okay, we get that. But South Ben got it got his things about it. You know, it's it's just interesting. It's all about who you have in your circle, in your friend group, you know. It's Chicago's not far right there. Right.

[00:15:03]So, there's many bit I just thought I just thought he was capping by saying he's never going back to a game. I'm like, "Okay, you'll go back to a game."

[00:15:12]Heck, he went to the spring game.

[00:15:15]>> He'll be back.

[00:15:16]>> No, he said he said he would go back. He No, he said he wouldn't go back unless it was board game.

[00:15:25]No, no. He wouldn't go back to South just like, "Oh, I'm just going back to South B for No, it's definitely going to be for a game." He says that now, but there's going to be so many different things he's going to be showing up for.

[00:15:38]Like, they gonna just They want him to speak or they got to do some event or he'll find a reason to get back to South Bend and you know, and why not? Shoot, you got hardware there. you you're definitely well remembered and respected there. It's and it's good, you know, especially when he's in the NFL and gets to like year three or four where he's like, "Man, it'd be nice to feel some love back at home."

[00:16:05]>> Well, I think he I think he's basically saying anything outside of Notre Dame related, I probably won't be going back to South.

[00:16:15]>> And I mean, how can anyone be upset about that?

[00:16:19]>> Yeah. Yeah. You spent your time there.

[00:16:21]You did your time there.

[00:16:22]>> When was the last time you've been back to South Bend, bro?

[00:16:25]>> It's been a minute.

[00:16:27]>> It was for a game, right?

[00:16:28]>> For football. Yeah, it's for football.

[00:16:30]>> Okay. Okay. Like like it's not It may be different because a lot of the Hulk era guys actually have homes in South Bend.

[00:16:49]But that's >> if it's not for football season, people at Notre Dame are doing stuff. You like you busy. You you got stuff you got to get done. It's not like it's the come visit and hang out and chill. You know, most people on routines and schedules when it's not football related.

[00:17:10]So catching somebody just hanging out is just rare. Which is why it's like, yeah, you go there, you spend your time, you do your time, get what you need to get out of there, but once you're done, it truly is you you got all you can get out of it.

[00:17:28]>> Unless you want to go back to the game and shopping and maybe a reunion or something, but >> you know what's dope though?

[00:17:36]>> I love the fact that they both Jeremiah and EQ are both like, "Yo, it's fun."

[00:17:41]>> It is fun. Yes. This the city might not be considered fun, but like Notre Dame >> Yes.

[00:17:49]>> is fun. Yes. I think it makes for a better brotherhood, too. Yeah. It's fun in that way, you know? It's fun in the way that like you're with your boys.

[00:18:02]It's a great environment.

[00:18:05]is is is so many different ways you can tell your story, but at the same time, everybody outside looking in makes it cooler to you when you're there because they just have no idea. You know what I mean? They just like there's nothing South or Noran could offer that I can see me enjoying it or you telling me about it. But that's the thing though, if you're there >> hearing that from somebody, you're like, "Oh, you just don't know." It's fun.

[00:18:36]Like for instance, the first day of snow, everybody runs out to the middle of the uh south quad or the middle of the campus and there's a huge snowball fight.

[00:18:49]First snow meaning like the first time it gets crazy, it's snowball fight.

[00:18:54]Middle of the night.

[00:18:56]That was fun.

[00:18:58]You know, is that a story that is that a story you're like carrying on and and comparing to other people's stories with at their schools? No. But that's a cool experience. I mean, just imagine you our first semester there, it's cold.

[00:19:13]Everybody, you know, woe is me. And then out of nowhere, I look out the window, it's like 150 people running to the, you know, that's cool.

[00:19:22]I'm in the middle of that thing. Okay, what we doing? Everybody throwing snow.

[00:19:25]It's it's a it's a cool experience. So stuff like that makes it fun. Now is it the club? Is it the you know whatever is you? No. But during my time we it was popping. Lil Wayne was coming through there. Drake was shouting out. Scott Diggins. It was it was a >> it was a time you know man Todd was gig everybody. I mean >> it's about who's who's making it uh uh who's there making it fun. We had Sky Diggins, man. Tai, we had the the men's basketball team when they were really good with Jiren and all them boys. At the same time, we was coming off a national championship. The girls basketball team was going back to backtoback years. It was it was lit during our time. You know, >> I can compare it to going to Florida.

[00:20:14]So, Florida, I'm thinking it's Urban Meyer, Joe King, Noah, Tim Tibo vibes. M >> you hear them story people was hanging off the street post and it was just ridiculous you know it was it was it was crazy but when I got there and we weren't good it was like what backwater town am I in this country no nothing nothing now that's nothing to do >> down there at UF if you ain't winning there is nothing what you want hang out some alligators it's hot as the Dickens is a super foresty area. Nothing out there but a hospital and the school.

[00:21:00]Now that's boring.

[00:21:02]But when you're winning at UFO, it's like Disneyland, you know.

[00:21:11]Oh man, I just think before we get to this next clip, bro, that you know, you have a place like that because look, Champagne is a little bit closer to Chicago. That No, no, I take that back.

[00:21:30]South Bend is actually closer to Chicago than Champagne.

[00:21:34]>> Yeah, I had to think about it. like an hour.

[00:21:40]>> Yeah. South Ben is like an hour away and Champagne is like an hour and a half from Chicago.

[00:21:48]But you know when you get that small town feels like you feel like you're in your own you feel like literally Notre Dame is its own city and you feel that.

[00:22:00]>> Yeah. They bought they bought enough to make it feel like yeah this is >> it is South but this is really Notre Dame land. Just like >> no different than Disney. You know, you Disney, it's a ecosystem. You forget you you're not in Orlando, you're in Disney Orlando. You know what I mean?

[00:22:38]>> So then the conversation goes to uh Notre Dame and Jeremiah Love explains like his NIL progression at Notre Dame.

[00:22:51]Check this out. Le I saw a video of you saying you um you got your dream car, your whole rookie deal is going to, you know, you already made enough money. Is that true? Like you're not spending any of your rookie money. Honestly, like you don't have to lie. You don't have to try to be cool. Like actually.

[00:23:07]>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Honestly, I'll take care of my family. But me personally, bro, I got everything I could ever I could ever want. I maybe like I got car.

[00:23:15]I got a car. I got shoot video games.

[00:23:20]That's all I need, bro. I got a car to get me around and once I get me a little crib or whatever, I'm smooth. I don't need nothing else.

[00:24:17]>> Well, I think Jeremiah Love for one, he'll get older and realize how much he really has.

[00:24:24]Yeah. Video games in a car. Yeah, that's good. But you you ain't got just video game and a car money. You going to be realizing 53 million is is I could do something with that. So he'll learn he'll start walking in the locker room and you know other guys in the locker room been there done that going to be like hey Brooke >> what about you know this thing over here and showing him this thing over you know that's how it go. But the other thing is I do like how EQ mentioned, yeah, SC was great until I found out about Notre Dame.

[00:25:00]And that just shows you just the the the the whole Chrysler 300 is is is a Phantom till the Phantom show up.

[00:25:09]Yeah, that's what happens. You just the the the veil is the SC, the Texas, the Bama, the Jord. Those are the sexy names of of football, the LSU, right? But when you start diving deeper and seeing between the weeds, Notre Dame just becomes the favorite.

[00:25:30]If you really start breaking it down, he said two things. I liked SC before I knew of Notre Dame. And the second thing he said was is that people want to go there. See, he can't see SC can't say that because SC, you point to Bear Alexander. That's just a great example.

[00:25:50]>> They flashed some money. He came out there, saw what and all that and left within the same year.

[00:25:56]Did he want to go there because he wanted to be a Trojan or did he want to go there because of the the money, the opportunity? It's LA, right? You know, as soon as he got there, he's taking pictures of the crypto arena and the high-rise apartment, the chains, the NIL money. Got him the chains, got in a bear chain, look like a bear.

[00:26:16]But when you talk about Notre Dame, all those guys say the same thing. They wanted to go there. Meaning that they saw beyond the chains and the whips and the video games.

[00:26:28]And he was honest. He said the money wasn't good at first, but how much more worth it is it by his story by saying the money wasn't great.

[00:26:37]I wanted to go there, but by year three it was great and by year four it's even better.

[00:26:45]Now some other guys on the team, they've been using that NIL pretty well. I mean, they've been getting uh uh fly me fly.

[00:26:55]They figuring it out.

[00:26:57]But I just think it just shows that yeah, with all things included in in college football that you could want to chase, when it comes to Notre Dame, guys are choosing it because of they want to beat it.

[00:27:12]And they're telling you the money not great. So think about that. SC can't go around here talking about SC don't pay great, but I but they still comp competitive in the recruitment.

[00:27:23]>> Yeah. I guess if you call that the best worst, I guess that's we'll take that because who else can go around here and say, "Yeah, we don't pay the greatest.

[00:27:31]We We may not win all these money deals, but we're still top three in recruiting.

[00:27:36]We're still top three and in and less transfers leaving. We're still top three in in playoff and ranking contention.

[00:27:44]And it ain't a and it ain't out money thing." And a lot of top teams can't say that, especially USC. USC can't talk about nothing if it's not attached to a dollar amount.

[00:27:56]They sell winning. They not selling winning. So how are they getting all these number one players and top players? They selling LA.

[00:28:05]>> YOU YOU CAN'T SELL SOUTH Bend to kids.

[00:28:07]You got to sell Notre Dame. You got you got to sell some things. LA EASY.

[00:28:16]THEY THEY THEY be bringing kids on official visits THAT DON'T EVEN GET TO THE campus at the zoo. They talking to the Lakers.

[00:28:24]They hanging out at downtown. They ain't even GO TO THE CLASSES. THEY DON'T EVEN TAKE. SO, IT'S LIKE, come on, man. SC, you got to go talk to administrators. Uh you got to go to St. Liam's. You got to talk to Marcus Freeman, his wife. Then you got to go to across the street to Eddie Street. You you you got to get sold on the package. Chad out there saying, "Hey, let's go hang out with some celebrities in Hollywood. Uh, take it to the beach for lunch and then we head over." Like, HE AIN'T EVEN TALKING ABOUT THE SCHOOL. THEY OUT THERE JUST TAKING FREE RIDES AROUND LA.

[00:28:59]>> Free rides. Oh, they coming out there getting fly on Mailroads, then hanging out at Santa Monica Pier, then jumping down to Nou for dinner, and then hanging out with at the Lakers game. Not one time did they talk about anything SC stadium ain't on campus. I mean what I mean stuck in traffic half the time. So you you really ain't got to see much. You just going point to point because you in traffic half the day.

[00:29:34]It is amazing to me the jewel and Marcus Freeman is doing an incredible job really using this point that EQ and Jeremiah Love mentioned like Notre Dame gets people that want to be at Notre Dame. Like they want Notre Dame. That's why they're there. They're they want Notre Dame. And like you said, left, wanting Notre Dame comes with a lot. It's not just football.

[00:30:06]It's not just football, right? That's why, you know, when you said, yo, Notre Dame is not easy, but Notre Dame is an easy decision to make. Like, it's easy to choose Notre Dame. They have everything. Everything you need.

[00:30:24]Everything is right there within that community.

[00:30:27]It's a city within itself.

[00:33:24]You could just tell cuz he got injured. He was killing USC early in 2024 and then he gets injured in that game and Notre Dame eventually wins by two touchdowns. But it is amazing how disrespectful he was to USC players in last season games. The trash he talked during the game and then how he disrespected with his antics in the end zone at the end of the game. You knew it had to be something different, right? Because for the most part, Jay Love keeps it real chill on the football field, unless you say something crazy to him.

But the same things that were the differences and why Trevor won and Justin didn't or whatever were the are the differences when they got evaluated for the league. You know, it just, you know, so it matters, but it doesn't matter too because, you know, my class was a Santi Ward. He won, but you never heard about him. So, I think it's right >> hit or miss some things.

Look, he puts that Notre Dame was about to land Tommy Frasier in the 1992 class, but Lou Holtz allegedly contacted Tommy Frasier during the dead period, meaning he cheated. Lou Holtz cheated, got caught by Tom Osborne, who threatened to turn Holtz in, and eventually Tommy Frasier ended up at Nebraska.
