This video demonstrates how self-proclaimed sovereign citizens attempt to exploit legal loopholes in court, but judges consistently shut down these arguments within seconds by applying established legal principles and procedural rules. The content shows real courtroom scenarios where defendants challenge jurisdiction, question authority, and attempt to use obscure legal theories, only to face immediate consequences when the judge explains that such arguments have no legal basis. The video serves as an educational resource showing the difference between internet legal theories and actual court procedures, emphasizing that courts operate under specific rules that cannot be circumvented through obscure interpretations.

>> Gedalla. Thank you, Judge.
Done with the jail, right?
Pennington. Your Honor, that's all I've got for you. If I have anything else, I'll let you know.
Thank you.
Ma'am, are you going forward today without benefit of a court-appointed attorney?
My paperwork says that you have met with the prosecutor, and you are pleading guilty today. Is that correct? You understand your rights and options?
You understand the possible penalty for the charge?
And are you pleading guilty freely and voluntarily today?
Uh, let's see. We've got a date of March 23rd in Sumter.
How did you violate the ordinance?
My grandfather passed away September I'm sorry to hear that.
We have until August 10th to get out of the house, which is 33 acres. Yeah.
We have 24 acres, so Okay. So, I was cleaning out the basement. I was putting cardboard in there. We have our own personal dumpster.
>> Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, something.
>> Yeah.
Cardboard. Right.
Right.
I was there. Yeah.
Sure.
Of course. Uh they drive and he called and he told me that Right.
Uh people bought a property already do the stuff in the back, so they got them the same day. Okay.
I can't stand the bottom cuz it's already full. Right.
Okay. So, how did that violate the open burning? It was in a container.
I don't know. Because I thought that was the rule was that had to be contained.
I thought so, too.
No.
If you go out there super mad Council?
Mr. Hurley?
You're muted.
All right, I'm here, Judge. All right, so on this Pennington's file, open burning without a permit.
Yes.
She She tells me that her fire was in a in a dumpster full of cardboard. They lit the cardboard. So, how does that violate open burning? Is if if I mean, by definition, that's not open burning, is it?
Well, I would think it is. You can't do any burning without a permit. Okay. All right, so it wasn't the fact that they had a they were burning cardboard in the dumpster. It was they were doing it without the permit. That was the problem. Yes, sir. Okay. That makes sense. So, it wasn't the the type of fire you had, it was the no permit for the fire. Okay.
>> Right. I told her that she could probably if she would go and get a permit if she's going to do this in the future, make sure that she gets a permit from the township. Right. Right. What's the permit cost? Do you know? I do not know, Judge. Okay. All right.
Thank you. Thank you, sir.
All right. Thank you. All right, anything else?
All right, well, today the permit's 150 bucks. That's what I'm charging.
So, can you pay that today? Go pay that today and we're done with you.
All right.
Have a good day.
Nicholas, is it Lucius's? Lucius.
Lucius. Come on up.
Mr. Lucius, are you going forward today without benefit of a court-appointed attorney?
Yes, sir. All right, you you read your rights form, you understand those rights and options?
And you've met with the prosecutor, said you're going to plead responsible to a civil infraction dog at large, and the misdemeanor charge will be dismissed. Is that the way you want to handle it today?
Okay.
I will accept your plea of responsible and find the cost $200. Can you pay that today?
Go downstairs and get a cashier's smile and you're on your way.
You as well.
Thank you.
Gorecki?
Did I say it right?
Ma'am, are you going forward without benefit of a court-appointed attorney today?
Did you read your rights form?
You understand all those rights?
You understand the options they give you?
All right, my understanding is you're going to plead guilty to a February 17th, 2026 blight on property, and the prosecutor's asked me to dismiss a February 17th violation of technical requirements charge. So, it's a one for one. You're going to plead to one, we're going to dismiss one. Correct? And you understand the possible penalty for the blight charge?
Um Up to 90 days in jail, up to $500 fine plus court costs.
Understanding all of that, are you pleading guilty to that charge freely and voluntarily today?
All right, tell me tell me what happened. What was the situation in Sumpter Township on that date that makes you think you're guilty of blight?
What was the What were the circumstances?
I just have my driveway that I'm cleaning up. And I don't specifically And he's giving me some more time.
I've been cleaning it up.
And I'm just needing a little bit more time and I have two of my grandkids that live with me.

They're going to sue me. Okay.
All right.
Um so, do you think you've got it to the point where Gregory's satisfied with it?
Or are you Like Yeah.
Yeah. Majority of it.
And I told him like my my wood that I'm going to use to dig in the garage for the animals. Yeah.
I've got that under a tarp. He asked me if I can move that to the back. Okay.
So, you've had you've had recent conversation with him, so you think you know how to make his tail wag.
Right?
Right.
>> Okay. Okay.
I was washing the driveway yesterday.
>> Okay. All right. Anything else you want me to know? I'll accept your plea, dismiss the other case. Anything you want me to know before I sentence you today?
Um no, Judge. I need more time, so I'll work with you on money.
All right. So, fine the costs are $250.
You want a payment plan?
How much, how often, when can you start?
Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly?
What- Whatever works Whatever works for your Whatever works best for your finances. How do you want to do it?
Um I don't know. Like $25 a week, is that okay?
$25 a week, why don't you just do $75 a month, and if you can pay more, you can.
That work?
Calendar over there, tell me when you want to start.
Can't wait until 15th.

Uh well, maybe I don't. Imperial Bag and Paper.
You got a lawyer?
You can't be in front of me in court, though. Um go out in the hallway. You might be able to talk one of those attorneys into um standing in for you, or we'll adjourn it. Uh you're an LLC, that means you're a separate legal entity, and I can't let you represent the legal the entity in the courtroom.
Understood?
All right.
I'll just give you that different date.
You want to just adjourn it? Yeah, please.
>> Yeah, just sit right down, we'll get you another date, give you a notice, and get you out of here.
All right. Gregory Hubbard.
>> [clears throat] >> Mr. Hubbard, come on up and have a seat in this chair right here.

Um I'm retired from the Washington County Sheriff's Office. And how long were you with the with the Washington County Sheriff's? Uh almost 30 years.
And what are your general duties as an ordinance enforcement officer?
Uh to enforce all the zoning uh zoning, general law, and property maintenance.
To assist residents with questions and with uh the Latin hours and And are you familiar with the property located at 714 Belleville Road? I am. Is that in our township? It is. Can you describe the property for the court?
The property is zoned uh R3 residential property, but it looks like it's a outdoor storage flea market. It's just a You're going to see interior condition uh rubbish with uh vehicle uh cemetery is around the property uh RVs in disrepair.
Um all this with the garden tents that are erected in the front yard.
All right, and do you know who owns the property? Um Mr. Hubbard does. Okay.
Uh and can you tell me why you're familiar with the property located at 714 I have received complaints uh several times about this property. And do you know any time this year did you have an opportunity to conduct a field inspection of the property? I did.
And during your inspection, what did you observe?
Uh just as I described uh a little moment ago, the the the property just miscellaneous uh rubbish and and uh like flea market type a little bitty property with uh party tents in the front yard, um trailers in the front yard, uh vehicles with junk and inoperable RVs.
Uh the property is quite large. If you go back to where the cemetery is off of Wells Road, this is the back. Someone being in the cemetery can see these uh uh semi-trailers have been parked there.
Um a lot of ordinances ordinances are open.
Based on everything to your knowledge, is it a violation to maintain or fix even any of those violations in place?
Yes.
All right. And is it your normal practice to take photographs during field inspections? It is. And did you take photographs of any of those inspections of 1042 Noble Lots Road? I did. And what did you use to take photos? Uh I used my cell phone.
All right. Your Honor, at this time I would like to introduce what will be the proposed people's exhibit.
A copy here for the respondent.
Can you just take a moment to go through those real quick? Sure.
These appear to be the photos that I have have taken. All right. And those are the photos you took on February 5th?
Yes. And are those a true and accurate representation of the condition of the property at 1042 Noble Lots Road? It is.
Your Honor, at this time I would like to admit that evidence exhibit. Please look at the photos on the exhibit.
Uh how many pages is that? Just so we can make One exhibit, 39 pages. Mr. Harper, take a minute to go through those and then tell me whether or not you have any objections to those being admitted.
You don't have any one on my properties.
I'm sorry? This photo is on my family on my property before I sold it.
Okay. So, you have no objections to those being admitted?
Well, they can be admitted, but those things are already admitted.
They're not there now.
>> Well, we can talk about what they mean.
We we can we can have a conversation about what what she thinks they mean versus what you think they mean. Okay.
Okay. All right, but you have no objection.
Okay. That'll be admitted. Go ahead. All right. Any questions? Sure.
Thank you.
All right.
Field inspection of 1042 Noble Lots Road. What is a violation there?
Uh mobile Part of the property being sold to The word is mobile portion.
Um he makes the mobile home his residence.

It is.
And as a result of those violations, did he get a warning letter?
And after the issuance of that warning, did he receive an improvement or have it corrected in compliance by your office?
No.
Did he ever reach out to you? No.
And based upon this interview, did you then issue a citation?
And it was that 4-2-4 violations and 4 violations? Yes. And just so we're clear, let's go through those. It looks like you drive in the street.
Realistically, 0.1 sanitation. Why didn't you pick that?
Uh the the the property is still in unsanitary condition.
And I Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. You got to flush that out.
If it was If it was clearly, I wouldn't need anybody to testify about it.
What exactly do you mean by unsanitary condition?
Uh items that are thrown thrown throughout the uh property.
What are they attached to for for uh loaded garbage?
Uh And would you say that it is maintained in any clean, safe, or sanitary condition?
No, it's not.
All right. I just know you issued IMC 302.8 motor vehicle violation. What was that in particular ticket for?
Vehicles being illegally uh parked in a mobile manner, uh full licenses.
Uh Vehicles uh it is RVs that I mean uh the location of those semi semi vehicles.
And when you say that what do you mean?
Because like tires or license plates or just inoperable?
Inoperable as far as uh we'll say uh flat tires. It just the key key in the state.
And about how many vehicles would you say that would have encompassed? About how many vehicles would you say that encompasses?
I want to say three or four um RVs. Two, three, four RVs and then uh maybe seven, eight, nine around that range of uh semi-trailers.
And um third was IMC 308.1 accumulation of rubbish or garbage. And why was that the case next to you?
Kind of hand in hand with sanitation. Uh there are items just garbage and and rubbish throughout the the property. And is that represented in the photos that you took? Yes, it is.
And then finally, you issued a citation for local ordinance violation. Why was that issued?
It encompasses all of all of what you spoke about. It's obviously the property is blighted with the amount of rubbish, garbage, and the semi-trailers, um several party tents that are erected in the front yard, um trailers full of of full of like scrap and junk uh in the front yard.
Okay. So, in your uh did you do any follow-up field inspections of the same location from your January inspection back in January?
I did. And uh what was the last most recent time that you were on my property?
This morning. And uh was the property still in violation? Yes. Has there been any compliance?
It it appears that one of the tents the contents of one of the uh uh uh Basically, it's one of the huge uh more rubbish was behind it than than you could could see before.
I have no further questions, Your Honor.

No, Your Honor. Okay, you can step down.
No other witnesses? No. All right. Mr. Harper, do you have any witnesses?
Would you like to testify?
Um maybe so.
Ready and ready. Okay. Well, you told me you were ready to go forward today without an attorney.

He got it.
Okay. Yeah, that's why you have a hearing.
And I asked you, are you ready for your hearing? And you said I'd like to have an attorney, but I'm ready to go forward today.
So, we went forward. Right. So, you don't want to ask the officer any questions? Do you want to tell me anything before I make a decision?
Well, you know right now, I own the last property and I own this property that I have now.
My kids, they're all on my property with me.
And and I just want to tell them.
And um every time I move, I would um when I look back up with me.
I don't know why I sold the property.
You know, a house, I had to pack up and put it up in semi and my old personal truck and brought it to my property and I'm saying it now.
Hey, the vehicles they all attached.
You know, one of my truck broke down and I didn't get it back then, so I don't like the construction.
But it broke down, so and trailers, that's the same thing. I had trucks trailers.
When I moved, and I brought my trailer, the whole axle trailer is now and both trailers have got my personal belongings in it.
They're all in my house.
And I got some stuff to isolation isolation, yeah.
And and I'm not saying it's not garbage.
I'm saying it is.
But when you come through the fence right here, everything is all scattered out in the yard for having the yard sale.
That's what I'm busy doing.
Okay. Stop. Okay. All that stuff is gone. The yard stuff is gone. But they can't have a flea market cuz I finished taking it out. Okay. So, so I didn't have a tent up over there. The last reason the tent was up. You know, where where the tent was up. We washed them.
We washed the tent stuff out in our yard every all the time. We were washing them, painting them.
And everything else. I don't see how a tent is going to be an is an issue with this.
Have you seen photographs?
Even if snowed down there. Every one of those tents looks like it's getting ready to fall down.
Every one of them.
So, you're telling me that's the way that you put the tents up like that to wash them.
Okay. No, it snowed and they still had snow on them. Snow came out of the back.
Okay. So, hold on a minute. Hold on a minute. You're going to tell me that all three of those tents had recently been rented and you put them up there to clean them and they got snowed on.
No, I didn't defense throughout the summer. We clean tents. So, there's tents in our yard. Right. All throughout the summer.
>> Why were they there in January?
Because I explained to you the tent came in soaking wet and we didn't have a chance to get all the rain and dust. So, we were trying to get it done when it snowed on it. You can come up. We didn't want our tents out in snow that could break. How long were they up?
Well, the weather ain't very good. You fold You can't fold them because of How long were they up?
Started selling summer time.
So, they just freeze out there about Okay. You You can't do that.
That's The ordinances don't allow you to put up a uh yard sale tent and leave it up there for months.
What's the township's rule on lawn yard sales?
Yeah, we don't have any makers and see yard sales. It is They're no more permit required, but it's certainly not happening in the summer time and in January things are not If it goes beyond a week, it's not a yard sale anymore. It's a business.
Well, honestly, if you have certain classified, it's almost like it's a flea market. It's just Right.
Like So, what's still there now? As of today.
Sounds like there's a number of semi trailers.
Okay. Do you have any what I'll call passenger vehicles that are there that aren't roadworthy?
Pickup trucks.
Okay.
Okay.
What else?
We got a couple of cars.
The white car was in the beginning.
Okay. I I don't want to know what's not there. I want to know what's there.
Both of the graveyard close to the doctor. Sir, I'm not trying to make this difficult.
I'm not asking you what used to be there.
Are those RVs roadworthy? Could you go take them down over on Walter Road today?
No. Why not?
I suppose they don't run. They don't run.
Okay. So, two RVs, a pickup truck. What else?
What else is there today?
I don't think I'm allowed to That's not supposed to be in the yard. Okay. Well, no no debris in the yard?
What kind of debris?
Debris he came on the lawn guy a year ago on the same property and told me I had to donate all my food All my kids' My grandkids' plastic toys over there cuz they look like crap. Okay. Okay.
Well, I didn't donate them. You know, my first Okay.
Here. Sorry about it. Okay.
All right. Once again, I don't care about what was there years ago. I want to know what's there this morning.
So, do you have any boxes of stuff in the yard? No, they're like on guard on the road. But, there's no way they're in white.
Let's say that. All right. You're making this harder than it's got to be. I'm asking questions and I'm not getting answers. Are there any boxes of anything in the yard?
Okay.
How many tra- tractor trailers are there?
I didn't ask you where they were at. I asked you how many.
A dozen?
Okay.
Does the township have any ordinance that that covers those type of storage units on a residential property? I'm not asking you a question, Mr. Harbert. I'm asking the prosecutor. Interrupt me again, I'll hold you in contempt and then we'll continue the hearing.
Clear?
Yes, sir.
They do not They cannot have any sort of commercial or industrial type trailers, semi trucks in residential and as the officer testified in zone residential areas.
Are you aware of that, sir?
I mean they got me in a legal Yes or no.
Are you aware of that? Well, that's what She just told you. I'm aware. Okay. So, what I'm hearing is if those 12 semi trailers are still there a month from now, they're probably going to keep writing you tickets.
Well, why can't a person keep what they have on their own property? Because it's an ordinance. You're in a residential area and you're treating it like it's industrial.
You want You want to live like that, you got to go to the wild wild west where they don't have zoning rules.
Okay. They can go away.
It doesn't The The zoning isn't only if a neighbor complains.
The The Just the rules. You live in here on the township. Those are the rules in here on the township. You don't like that, you got to lobby your town board to change the rules.
I would encourage you to do so. It's called civics 101.
I'm a big fan.
But, that's what the rules are currently where you live.
And probably have been for decades. No, you're looping. It says that. They don't have to prove their ordinance for you to comply. They're proving it today to me.
Go to town hall. They'll be happy to give you copies of all the ordinances.
Happy to.
If it helps you get into compliance, they they probably won't even charge you for copy. Well, I shouldn't say that.
They might charge you for copies.
But, you're clearly responsible from your own lips. You're clearly responsible for what they're charging you for.
How long have you owned that piece of property?
All right. I'm I'm confused as to why I've got three files that all have the same date on them and all have the same three charges.
2.1, 2.8, and 8.1. All three tickets all same day.
I only have one citation with four charges. Okay.
All right. Well, here's what I'm going to do. Mr. Harbert, I am going to find you responsible.
And ticket number ending in 99C, violation of technical requirements.
And that particular ticket shows 302.1 sanitation, 302.8 motor vehicle, and 308.1 accumulation of rubbish or garbage. I'm dismissing the other three files that I have. Do you understand that?
Do you understand that?
Okay. So, fines and costs on today's ticket $200.
Now, you currently owe us $936.
No, I'm sorry. You currently owe $216 on a double parking ticket from last year.
Can you pay the 216 and the 250 200 today? So, 416. Can you pay that today?
When?
Okay. I can't I can't deal with an I don't know.
So, can you commit to some kind of regular payments?
Like weekly, monthly?
Monthly. How much?
I don't know how much. Start when?
Next Friday, the 8th?
All right. So, you got $200 on today's file, $216 on the two double parking file. You're going to do that at $50 a month starting on May 8th. They're going to keep writing you tickets if the conditions don't improve. If you're not sure what you have to do to get into compliance, I'm sure officer would talk to you today or go to the township and get copies of the printouts. Any questions?
I mean connect to the dots.
What am I supposed to do with this stuff? I just told you that. I just said I just said I'm sure the officer would be happy to talk to you or you can go to the township and get copies of the ordinances.
Good luck.
Yeah, I think it was speedy. C A A and B and 200 I dismissed.
Officer, I found you responsible on all of that as being a miscellaneous sanitation requirement and an underlying violation on civil infractions.
Uh so, it's I found you responsible on the civil infraction. Mr. Harbert, we're still talking about your file.
Why can't you make it all separate? But, I can't understand why I got three duplicate files. So, there's four violations of technical requirements.
That's what the court calls it as. And then each one in the remarks it identified what specifically violation.
So, there's IBC I'm I did what I My words are my words. I've made my ruling. Now, you can all leave.
I I I already told him you're going to keep issuing tickets if things don't get fixed. I understand that. He understands that.
All right.
Mr. Balducci, you got something ready? I am, sir.
Come on up.
You're done, sir.
Ashley Roe.
And are you in the room?
Good morning, Ms. Roe.
Mr. Boutte. Rick Jeff Boutte appearing on his behalf.
Ms. Roe, you were here could you do this?
Ms. Ashley Roe here today. Thank you, ma'am. Your Honor, today's date time uh set uh for violation of curfew Ms. responsibility. Uh Ms. Roe is willing to completely uh do to that charge.
Uh she is a 17-year-old Madeline who who has had some medical issues Your Honor. Uh Ms. Roe is a registered nurse in Goswick uh and has a a finally has seen sort of a resolution to this.
When Madeline is a is straight A student, she's on the honor roll. She's going to an honor roll ceremony here in a couple days.
Uh so I believe this is going to be resolved.
Uh I'm going to 771. Okay. She's a senior this year or junior?
Okay.
All right. So you've discussed your options and your rights.
Understand all that. You understand the possible penalty for the charge. Yes.
Uh are you pleading guilty freely and voluntarily today? How many days did she miss?
Well, 11 but I think they actually did it today.
But I think it's about graduation and everything. Okay.
All right. Defense rests, Your Honor.
I'll accept the plea.
All right. Mr. Boutte explained to you how this works.
12 months of probation. Yeah, 12 months you're under my thumb. You don't commit any new crimes. Madeline doesn't have any more attendance issues and we we dismiss this at the end of the time period. Any questions?
Good luck with your health problems.
You're welcome.
McLaughlin.
Uh ready, Your Honor.
I got four of the McLaughlins here today.
I'll be happy to help. And with this McLaughlin and uh she took the The people at Mr. Hagler. Uh uh they are appearing today with me uh with the 17-year-old Logan.
Uh Your Honor, today's the date time set for show cause in this matter.
Uh I believe uh Mr. McLaughlin uh and Ms. Hagler Mr. Hagler uh are on 778 days key.
Uh the attendance says that again he was slightly off a little bit. But it's they're working uh and and they're solid plans. They're together.
They're thinking of moving moving to a while actually to the area where I'm at.
Uh uh but they want Logan to this year and then he's going to transfer to school in Portland, Ohio.
And he's he's he's on he's on line school right now. Definitely. Yeah.
Yeah. He's on what? Logan. Logan's for graduation.
Yes. So he's on line to graduate and on track to graduate. Okay.
So I didn't know uh what the court wished to do with this. Well, I I'm let's get straight first.
I've got Mr. Hagler's file. He's currently on delayed sentence for Logan.
Then we got Ms. McLaughlin that's got a new file today for Logan, correct?
That's not accurate. We have two files.
Uh they both pled guilty back in December 9th for the attendance of Logan.
>> Oh.
And then earlier in the morning Logan Okay.
I was just going to say that earlier.
Okay. All right. All right. So three kids. Now I got it. Okay. All right. So we're here on a show cause because the attendance issues had not been resolved.
He has been out of school like Alexander this year has missed 152 hours, Liam 215 hours and Logan 210 hours. I did bring his resource officer with me today to kind of go into what the school has offered. They offered resources through the school and through the court counselor to help us see if he is static with me.
And we can't help them without them helping themselves.
>> Yeah. So how old is Liam?
Liam is 12.
Alex? Alex [snorts] is 16.
Okay. And when are you moving?
I'm actually planning on I'm transferring my job.
I have a my best friend in Pennsylvania is going to help me get on my feet because I feel like the >> Ma'am, the question was when.
At the end of the Okay.
All right. So when are the boys moving?
I'm moving from Salem with their father until the end of the school year. Okay.
So that they can finish up. All right.
So what are we doing as far as the show cause? Are we pleading responsible to the violation?
Yes.
Okay.
All right. So that means both of these both of you end up with misdemeanor convictions. Do you understand that?
Yes? Yes. Okay. All right.
Anything before I sentence?
Um I would have And I don't know how that attendance record was right now but over the last I've got to say two and a half months it's significantly better.
We've made some things we got the school and we we're really in a hotel. Okay.
The school has agreed to help at all times. Every morning pick them up first so nobody knows where they're coming from. They don't get teased for living in a hotel.
>> Right.
And and that's working a lot.
A lot. Okay. And the they have the virtual school on Fridays. Some of which he has attended.
But Liam the 12-year-old had a lot of trouble focusing so I've been staying home on Friday mornings sitting next to him.
>> Helping him do his virtual. All I can do is just help him pay attention pay attention. Right. Cuz he wants to play videos and things like that.
>> Right. So th- those are the they're small stuff.
But at the same time figure it out on the deal. Okay. Uh But I it's just trying to think but I think I'm done with that part.
But I know that if you look at it in the last eight years at least there's significant progress. Okay. I do have something to say about Logan as well. Um he it was getting to a very frustrating point because if one thing was wrong in any morning for school, he's like I'm not going. I mean there's nothing at all that we can do to make him >> Right.
Right. The resource officer I even put him on the phone. He's like, "Logan, you have until this time to get to school right now." And he's I mean he's doing it with the fear of God and basically to get to school. So I really think McLaughlin should have called the police for that. Yeah. Um so but since then I actually had a meeting with the school with the principal and she put two options on the table.
She said in tandem or on and we went online. What's in tandem? Um I think they have to go to the building sometimes or like I'm not I'm not sure what it is. Like a hybrid?
Virtual online. Yeah. Okay.
Um she so since then Logan has gone online and he's he's doing he's doing everything at his own pace so he wants to.
Um I think that the hotel life living is a lot on his mental health and it's like very hard for him. Right.
Right. That's why I'm trying to help get out with my best friend Mhm. to relocate. Right.
New new start. Right.
>> Yes. Right. The school is what actually agreed that it would be a good thing for them.
Yeah. Okay. Anything from the people?
I'm just saying.
Yeah, she did it and he's been involved with the special last I just say and he's had time with the boy and they eventually did.
>> Okay.
Um yeah so we met last year last school year. We we had kind of what we do is we if we know students who miss a lot of days bring them in with their parents.
We kind of sit down and have a discussion and we kind of brainstorm and like okay, you know, why are you skipping the school? Are there any you know, resources that the school >> Right.
the school uh can address some of this.
Uh as as I mentioned stuff in transportation we'll work that out. And I know even in this case um Logan had mentioned one time about you know, he doesn't like his school.
There's something wrong. You know, he wanted his clothes cleaner so we we offered that. Um so like I said and that was offered last year in that meeting. Um And again it's just that a continual thing with all the kids. It's not that sure enough.
So I you know, I know as a school we we've done everything we can. We tried to you know, try to help him prevent from even getting here >> Right.
Right.
So I know it's been a a struggle. Yes, they have called me at times. Um and it's been a struggle past two years. So I can't say though once we got them coming to the building where we're staying at, Alex and Liam were not going to school.
Logan is on the one that was like not going. I don't know what conditions are there. Not going. But if I understand correctly, Logan is doing virtual. Yes.
That will be So he he doesn't have to go anywhere. He doesn't He does online and if he does have check-ins he has weekly check-ins with his with the staff Right. to make sure he's on track.
Anything else? Yeah.
Can I tell my mom? Sure. Um Officer Preble's been there. Nobody takes it on the time.
He thinks they can have a shower and things like that. That's again his things. They could be in a we deal with. He was just running out to the road like But Logan's on track now virtual. He's going to graduate virtually. Okay.
Okay. But they actually Alex and Liam have been doing a lot better with like as far as the virtual school goes and things like that. Sometimes they were getting an internet issue with the internet at the hotel which I think is something the library if there's an issue with the phone. Right. Right.
I'm trying to do what I can as a parent.
I work a full-time job. Like I literally work my butt off to provide for these kids. Um and I'm not always there for them to make sure that they are able to get up and go to virtual school and matter because I'm at work.
Family is moving out. Am I moving?
Then yeah, my kids will be moving. Yeah, yes.
All right, anything else?
Anybody?
All right, so here's what I'm going to do.
Um convictions are going to enter and my sentence is this. I'm putting both of you on a 3-month non-reporting probation. If they come back to me because things aren't better, once again, Logan's virtual, as far as I'm concerned, he's okay, right? He's going to He's on track to graduate virtually.
But if Liam and Alex don't finish off the the school year strong, if they've got if they've got enough absences, and I'm leaving that vague for a reason, if they've got enough absences that the schools think it's worth calling them out and prosecutor and she brings it to me, somebody's going to jail.
Maybe both of you.
I think so.
Any questions?
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, if it's it's if if you think what's best for your family is to relocate and you need to get that started, then yeah.
What in writing?
Well, at some point you're going to officially de-enroll them from the Huron school. That's that's the only right paperwork we need.
All right? Questions?
Good luck.
You're welcome.
Tawny, is it Vestal?
Did I say it right? Come on up.
Oh, a German. I'm sorry, ma'am, stay there. Stay there. We're going to adjourn you till May. We'll just get you a new date.
Taylor.
Mr. Boutte.
Thank you.
Good.
I don't haul your kids around, but we might be able to help.
All right. Do you understand your rights and options?
And you understand the possible penalty for the charge?
Are you pleading guilty freely and voluntarily? How many days?
I'll accept the guilty plea. So, you don't commit any new crimes for the next 12 months, Jayden keeps going to school every day, we'll dismiss it the end of dismisses at the end of 12 months, it goes away. Questions?
Good luck.
You're welcome.
Tiffany Hunter.
I've just got a piece of paper that says no longer enrolled.
Is this a dismissal that just didn't get marked or what's going?
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Mr. Boutte. I don't know what we're doing. It doesn't say there's a plea, it doesn't say it's a dismissal.
You want me to pass on this until we figure out what we're doing?
Okay.
Okay, just confirm that and let me know.
All right. Have a seat for just a minute, ma'am.
How about Is it Dopker?
Depker?
You've got an O in there you're not using.
All right, I can I I can make it work. I can make it work. Mr. Boutte, your appearance for Miss Depker.
Okay.
Okay. All right, do you understand your rights and options? Do you understand the possible penalty?
Uh you're pleading guilty freely and voluntarily? Okay. Uh and you understand how you've heard me explain you understand how it works. Any questions?
You You're not going to go rob banks, right? Okay. No questions? All right, have a great day, good luck. I hope I hope he's over the hump with the health problems.
How about Perelli?
Perelli, 50/50 chance here.
All right, so Mr. Boutte, your appearance?
Oh, I'm talking to the attorney. Oh, that's not yours? Okay. You're You're going forward without an attorney?
Okay, and the prosecutor told me that you're going to plead responsible to a civil infraction parental responsibility and wants me to dismiss both of the charges that were issued to you. Is that the way you want to resolve this?
I will accept your plea. I will dismiss both of the misdemeanors and charge you $150 on a civil infraction. Can you pay it today?
Go on downstairs, get a smile out of the cashier and you're on your way.
Nope.
Thank you.
Okay.
I don't know.
She said they both said it's a civil infraction.
