New Ink Day | @ferriswheelpress3796 Inks | Ana JoleneAdded:
Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. If you guys are new here, my name is Anna Jolene and I'm the author of the Glorium Sea series, the Moonrise Beach series, and the new Heartbreaker series. So, in today's video, I am going to be swatching some new inks from Ferriswell Press. I have my new swatch book. So, if you guys saw my other video of my ink exploration, I set this up in there. And then I am going to be also updating my bottled ink insert here, which is in my traveler's notebook. So, um I know a lot of you guys have implemented this system uh for yourself. So, I'm really happy that you have found some inspiration from my system, but these are the three new inks that we are going to be swatching today. So, I have actually this really interesting Dijon um colored ink called Sunforge Solless. So, I'm really excited to see this one. And then we have a couple of greens here. So, this one is the Copper Leaf Guild and this is uh more of a true green. And then this one's more of a teal color.
So, like a blue green. And this one is called Dawn of Passage. So, if you're interested in some Ferris Will Press inks or their fountain pens, um, feel free to use my discount code down below and you'll be able to save a little bit of money. So, here, as you guys can see, I've been swatching all of my inks that I've been getting uh this year. So, this is kind of like my swatch book. It's a chronological log of all the inks that I'm getting, whether they are samples or bottles, they go in here. Um, in this case, I have bottled inks to swatch. So, they will also be going in here as well.
So, I think I'll take out my inserts.
So, we can prep for that.
So, one is a traveler's notebook, MD paper notebook. It's actually the cream paper. And then we'll also do the swatches in here, which is an A5 Hobonichi. So, this actually has uh Tommoay River paper.
So, that is very exciting. So, we have two different papers to swatch on.
Today, I'm going to be using my trusty dip tool. This is from Pilot. I have a medium nib. And then also to swatch, um I have these, which are new in my shop.
These are my new swatch tools. Um they're super cute. They come in the color pink, um, light purple, and then if you're not into any of those colors, we also just have a clear one. These are really handy for swatching because they don't pick up too much of the ink, but just enough so that you can swatch it and then also they're very easy to clean. So, that's why I really like them. So, these are made out of glass.
Again, you can find these in my shop if you're interested. Um, don't forget to use the code save 10 to save 10% off.
So, let's go ahead and get started on the swatches. I have three inks here, and I think I can fit all of that in here at the bottom. So, let's go ahead and do that. Uh, for today's video, I think I'm going to go for the pink color.
All right. So, behind here, I just have a little pencil board just so that we don't get any bleed through on the other side of the page because this is quite thin paper. All right. I think what I'm going to do is I'm going to start off with this one right here, which is the one that I'm most excited for. So, this is Sunforge Solless. And the base of this is Dijon. So, it's kind of like a yellow. There is no sheening. The shimmer is green and pink, which is very interesting. And then there's medium shading. So, I am definitely excited to see how this is going to look because I do not have very many. Wow. I do not have very many Dijon colored inks. So, this is going to be quite interesting.
So, I have my ink inventory for my bottled inks open on the yellow inks.
These scripts are available in my shop.
And we are going to fill in one of these little boxes here. As you guys can see, I don't have too many yellow inks in my collection. It's not really a color that I tend to gravitate to. Although this month I did ink up a Twisby with a yellow custom mix. Um, and I actually really like it. So I'm opening myself more up to these type of colors.
So hopefully I'll like this one as well.
So again, this is the Sunforge Solless. And let's go ahead and do a little circle swatch. Um, you guys have been saying that you love my little circle swatches. They're very simple.
That's why I do them this way. Um, otherwise I feel like it would take me forever to swatch all my inks cuz I have quite a lot of them.
Look at that color. Very, very cool. I'm also going to do a little swatch on this side as well.
I'm doing it sideways. I'm not really sure why.
but just a little here. It's a small box, but I like that because I can actually fit um many inks in one go and that way I can see everything all at a glance without having to flip too much.
I found this system to be the best for someone has a lot of inks. So, you can see everything all at a glance.
All right. So, this is Ferriswell Press.
It's actually a little bit more on the green side, not as yellow as I thought, which I actually really like.
I think um I would actually use this because it's not as yellow. So, Ferris Will Press. I want to just make sure that I get the [clears throat] name right. It's hard to see the name on this box because of the design there of the lace. Sunforged Solless, but the name is really pretty.
In this particular swatch book, I like to write the month that I receive it.
So, I have a record just for my personal use. So, this is May 2026.
Really pretty.
I feel like on this paper it looks a little bit more yellowy, but it is a really pretty color. Okay, so let's go on this side. I'm just going to write FWP cuz I don't have enough space to write everything.
Sunforge Solless. I like this ink. Like I said, I prefer that that is more on the green leaning side than yellow.
It's really pretty.
Okay, that one. It's a very interesting ink [clears throat] and I have to see when I'll be able to use this color because I like to use inks that match my sticker kits. But I feel like this color is really, really interesting. Okay.
Should we go for the the green next? So, this one is the copper leaf guild. So, this has a base of green. There is no sheening on this one. There is copper sheening, which I'm so excited about.
And then there's low shading. I really love copper shimmer. It is so pretty.
They have been doing a little more um of this copper shimmer in their inks, and it makes me really excited because I really like it. Oh my gosh, this ink was so hard to open. [laughter] I had to ask my sister to help me.
But it's okay. I finally got it open.
So, this again is the copper leaf guild.
I want to get some of that copper shimmer in there. It's so dark.
This kind of reminds me of Muri from Sailor Shikiori's line. It's like a deep deep green which I think is really pretty.
All right, so let's move to this insert.
As you guys can see, I have a lot of green inks in my collection.
Really pretty. So, here is the merry um that I was talking about from Sailor.
It kind of reminds me of that, but this one actually looks a little bit lighter.
in the swatch at least.
So, Ferris will press the copper leaf guild. Actually, in the writing, it looks pretty similar, but obviously the sailor does not have that shimmer.
Very nice.
Okay. So, let's go back here and write the same thing. Ferris small press.
This paper is so nice.
The copper leaf guild.
also May 2026.
Can you see the shimmer? I actually really like that one.
I use a lot of these darker greens. So, I think this would be something that I use a ton, especially um in the fall time.
I just realized that this month is all of these smaller bottles.
How much is this? 120 ml.
I feel like this is a good size to be honest of ink.
And then lastly, we have another green, but this is more of a teal. Um, so this one's interesting because it's teal base, but it has a red sheen to it. And then the shimmer is champagne. Um, this time there is low shading. The color of this ink is called Dawn of Passage.
So again, you guys know I love my shimmer and I also really love their champagne shimmer. If you look at it here, it actually looks or like almost like silvery.
So I've kind of rekindled my love for teal inks recently cuz I started using them again actually when I first started getting into fountain pens and inks. Um, at that time like colors like purple, like deep purples and teals were so were so popular. I [clears throat] remember Dine, Aurora, Borealis was like the number one ink that everyone loved.
So, I've kind of gone back to using those colors again in my journals.
This one actually looks a little more brighter than Aurora Borealis. It is really pretty.
I'm also going to swatch on this side here.
Yeah, this is on the brighter teal side.
Not as deep.
So, as you guys can see up here in the second box, I have a swatch of Aurora Borealis. This one is brighter than that.
I actually don't have anything that's very similar to it, at least in bottle form. Maybe I have samples.
Okay. So here is Ferris wheel press and the color again is Dawn of Passage.
I feel like the shimmer, the champagne is a little more subtle in this color, whereas the teal is quite pronounced.
So, I'm just going to write here at the bottom FWP Dawn of Passage.
Yeah, I feel like the shimmer in this one is a little more subtle than the copper of the one before.
So, I'm just going to let these inks dry.
And if you guys are interested in some closer shots, still shots, I will have those up on my Instagram account, which is Aunt Ann and Julene Author. But these are the new three inks from Ferriswell Press.
I don't know if you guys will be able to see the shimmer, but I think they're really, really pretty. Very unique colors.
definitely don't have them in my collection even though I have quite a lot of greens and teals.
This one still kind of stands alone quite well. And this one's really pretty, too. And I definitely don't have anything quite like the Dijon here. That one is very unique, at least in my collection. So, here's a closer look at today's swatches. I don't know if you guys can see the shimmer, but I think they are all very pretty. on Tamoey River paper. These inks take a little longer to dry, but they are much quicker in drying on the MD paper. So, here is the copper leaf guild. And then Dawn of Passage is down here. And if I go to my yellow section, I can show you the Sun Forge Solus. This one actually might be my new favorite. I think that one is really unique.
All right. So, I hope you guys enjoyed watching this video. If you guys are interested once again in any of these stickers or the swatch tool from my shop, feel free to use the code save 10 to save 10% off. And if you're interested in your own Ferrisville Press inks, feel free to use my code. Um, I will leave a link to their website um down below. Thank you guys so much for watching. Please don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe. And I'll see you guys in my next video. Bye.
