Barry Manilow's signature musical style is characterized by high tenor vocal range, distinctive piano intros, dynamic vocal performances, and key changes in choruses, as exemplified in the title track 'Here Comes the Night' from his 1982 album, which showcases his mastery of rhythm playing and emotional vocal delivery.

The Title Track of the Album "Here Comes the Night" Uses Many of Barry Manilow's HallmarksAdded:
let's move on here to track two. This is the title track of the album. This is Here Comes the Night written by Barry Manilow and John Bettis. John Bettis is a name that comes up throughout the Manilow discography. So, title track here, we're continuing with the theme of high vocals. He's repeatedly up in [music] this range, which is I'd consider that the the right the breaking point of the tenor range. Um so, around this time, he's really using all of all of that up there. So, I personally think this song should have been a hit. Yes, 100%.
My thing is, I would speculate that maybe he's glad that it didn't end up being a hit because it's so hard to sing. And if it was a hit, he'd have to sing it every night. So, Barry, what are your thoughts on the performance of this song? Yeah, I think Manilow dodged a bullet here with not having to sing this live every night because when he did it at Blenheim Palace, he was down a whole step, but even still, it's still a high song. And And so, I I I empathize with the difficulty involved in singing this.
I think that this song is it's a it's a great tenor love song, but of course, it kind of s- fits into the hard edge that this album has. I love that it starts off with a very very, you know, distinctive intro.
>> [music] >> And this is actually one of the few tracks one of two tracks that Manilow plays acoustic piano on. So, I think that is interesting to show which ones he chose to play the piano on.
Um cuz I I while I do actually love the Victor Vanacore parts, they're actually excellent. The casting was great on that. But I also do like what Manilow offers on the piano. He's a really great rhythm playing He's a great rhythm player and the feeling that he has when he plays is just so distinctive and I can hear it immediately when it comes on the radio.
