In federal corruption cases involving multiple defendants, courts often consolidate trials when the indictment describes a unified effort with common objectives, participants, timeframes, and methods, as demonstrated in the 'Free the Land Three' case where Judge Jordan rejected severance motions for Chokwe Lumumba, Jody Owens, and Aaron Banks, combining their trials into one proceeding.

JUST HOW F'D ARE CHOKWE, JODY & AARON, AKA: THE 'FREE THE LAND 3'? (Ep #1,218)Added:
Positive solution.
Strap in. Turn up the volume and get ready Jackson for unfiltered no sugar added talk radio. It's award-winning.
>> Boom. Shaka boom. You're tuned in to the free range human show of choice daily dose of reality radio. It starts right now. This is the Klay Edwards show. I am of course Klay Edwards coming at you live here on 1039 WAB streaming worldwide on the Mazda Jackson live stream across all your favorite social media platforms where savejxn on Instagram straight flexing you get a song stuck in your head it just sticks right on Facebook on X and of course on YouTube in two different formats on YouTube. We're in the portrait mode where you hold your phone straight up and down and we're in landscape mode where you hold your phone sideways. If you go to savejxn on YouTube, you can find both settings, whichever one you prefer the most. We are at Clay Edwards Show on the alternative platforms such as Twitch, Kick, and Rumble. We've been on Rumble consistently almost as long as we've been on YouTube on this show. We definitely try to help out the old free speech platform there because uh inevitably all this free speech we've been allowed on these big tech platforms like YouTube, Facebook, etc. You know, you have to you have to believe that uh you know if the Dems get back control, they're going to wrangle all that in. That's just a little bit too much free speech. We said free. We didn't mean that free. We didn't mean that free.
So, I anticipate that changing at some point. So, it's nice to have Rumble there as a fail safe. So, y'all make sure you're following us on Rumble. If you have a Rumble account, just clay Edwards Show and hit subscribe. And of course, hit subscribe on all those platforms. They uh they're there for you for a reason. Use them. Use them. Well, let's just start here real quick with some sad news. We lost Mr. Buddy over the weekend. You may have may not have seen that already. One of our longtime callers and I've got the I've got the screenshot or the announcement, whatever you would like to call it, from his son here. Pulling it up now. Y'all bear with me one second. And I went back this morning and I pulled up one of my favorite Mr. Buddy phone calls. Now, I'm sure there's plenty more, but every now and then I would clip them out and post them on the podcast as the call of the day.
And I got a really good one where he went scorched earth on the on the murderous PDF file, Daniel Callahan, that just committed just unspeakable atrocities to two young girls uh that he had kidnapped from after he killed their mother down in Louisiana. And you know, one survived and one didn't. right over there off Savannah Street. Not off Savannah, but off Mccclure Road over on Booger Lane. Just just terrible. I have a I have an ex-girlfriend that's buried in the cemetery across the street there.
So, that area is kind of special to me.
And you can see from from her grave, you can look right across and see Booger Lane. And it's just I've never felt good about that that street. Always had a bad feeling about that street. And what Callahan did there is one of the most evil, satanic, rotten things a human being could ever do to another. And he can't die soon enough.
And I know that he didn't get the death penalty. I don't even know why the damn thing exists. If you don't give it to this guy, but hopefully sooner rather than later, he will he'll get ended in prison. I think that's the best outcome for that guy. I mean, he's right up there. He's right up there, if not worse, frankly worse than, if it's even possible, than the FedEx driver over in Texas that murdered that little girl and did unspeakable things to her cuz he did it to two little girls. Killed one of them and killed the mother, you know. Well, Mr. Buddy was very moved by that, by that show we did that day and he called in. We're going to play that here in just a second, but I want to read the announcement about his passing from his son, Gabe. And uh first and foremost, we sent our condolences out from the entire WYB family, the uh Clay Nation as the audience calls themselves occasionally, FAFO Nation, whatever you want to call it, the listeners of this show and all of these shows here on WAB. I know Kim goes way back with Mr. Buddy. I wasn't even aware of that until I told Kim about Mr. Buddy's accident. But uh here's from Gabe. This was Saturday night and we had gone out to Cypress Point for the crawfish bowl and had a couple had a plate of crawfish, some good shrimp and we're on the way home and I got the text. I think Lindsay Beckham sent me the notification and I was like, "Ah, man." It was just a gut punch. It really was. It just sucked the air right out of the truck on the way home. But Gabe said, "Uh, my dad went home to be with Jesus today. I want to deeply thank the support system the family has had throughout this entire ordeal. I have plans for a celebration of life but we are going to take a day or so and shut down and grieve in lie of flowers.
He would like donations to be made to the little lighthouse.
So if you were going to send flowers uh for Mr. Buddy send whatever donations you would have spent on flowers to the little lighthouse. And I'm not that familiar with the little lighthouse but I will look that up. And if y'all will bear with me one second here. We don't have much change over time here. I got like basically six minutes to get in my chair, get everything pulled up and set up um when ship shows over and I take over. So, it doesn't give me a lot of time to kind of get my stuff together here. So, I am uh strolling through here. I think I think I got it here. Uh there's probably a commercial in the front of it. So, y'all bear with me one second while we uh kind of get this pulled up. So here, okay, actually, so guess what? Uh, no commercial. Now, this is about 11 minutes long. Just y'all bear with me.
Again, not going to be the most professional sounding thing here while I try to get to Mr. Buddy, so just work with the brother one second. I didn't have a whole lot of time to get this together. Y'all going to hear me talking, so it's going to sound like me talking, but it's going to be me. It's me talking on the on the podcast here.
I Okay.
All right, we got to fix something here real quick. They can't hear it on the online stream. I can fix that real quick. I do apologize. Again, we're we're doing this on the fly here. So, I'm going to I'm going to start this over. I apologize to the radio audience, but we got a huge online audience and we need to make sure that they can hear this as well. So, my apologies.
>> Little of my back.
>> We're just going to start right here.
This is Mr. Buddy going scorched earth.
Scorched earth on pedophile murderer Daniel Callahan.
>> I feel like this guy is just the epitome of evil. Now, you know a little of my background. I've been a hard man in my life. Have done things that gag a maggot, but I have would could never hurt a child. I can't hurt a woman. I can't hurt an animal. And this guy, uh, let me just say, put this out there to the state of Mississippi, you decide to execute him, I'll pay $10,000 to push the closure.
It look it looks like according to Sean it look he thinks Louisiana's gonna gonna take the charge on this thing.
>> So we'll see.
>> Well, I'll open the same thing to Louisiana. I'll be glad to pay 10 grand to push the plunger cuz I want to push it slow.
I want to watch. Look, if we if this is a product of starting back in the 60s, the flower generation, if it feels good, do it. I'm okay. You're okay. Uh, and pharmaceuticals and these doctors are cramming stuff in uh people's heads and make them conscious of this. Also, he's they're going his sister's building it up. You know, he was abused. Will you tell me any family who has Azie and Harriet or Leave it to Beaver? I mean, I had wonderful good parents, but times weren't always good with us. I can remember being really poor and having hard times. I went out and went to work on a public job at 12 years old.
And I'm not blaming it on my childhood.
I mean, suck it up, grow it up, and for, you know, forget about it and move on.
But this guy, just tell you the truth, I'd like to have him for three days in a room with a pass load, nail gun, and a straight razor. I could straighten him out and he might repent before he meets the devil. This just we need uh we need to look around.
Everybody does. Uh, I have a a significant other who says that I'm paranoid. Every place we go, I'm watching. If I go with my grandchildren, I watch them like a hawk. And if anybody gets close to them, I insert myself between me and them. Uh, the world is is turning evil progressively.
And uh if you get a chance uh listen to Paul's Harvey uh deal from back in the 60s, If I Were the Devil, this lines right up with it.
And >> Oh, it does. I've played it a bunch of times on here.
>> People need to wake up. We need to take back the vote and take back the penal system about 50 years where if you do something like this, you get a good fair trial in a speedy hand. And I'm blaming these psychiatric doctors and everything is pop pill and turn them loose. And these people need to be people like him need to cage somewhere.
And in this case, uh, I'm going, uh, Lincoln County law enforcement. I'm going to blame them in a little bit because if they were notified, of course, they're hamstrung by the Supreme Court as to what they can do. There's a limit. I mean, a guy's actually got to do something before they lock him up. But, uh, this guy's the epitome of evil.
I mean, and we got to start confronting it and we got to call it what it is. And you wait how the press is going to model C on him and say, "Oh, poor baby." You know, his daddy, his mama, his first cousin abused him.
Well, you know, I've been knocked around and I I wasn't perfect with my kids. I thought about it yesterday. I was a failure as dad, but they turned out all right in spite of me. that to my knowledge they never hurt anybody except in a fair fight. None of them has molested anybody and none of them crawled up on a building and shot anybody. I I just The world's the world ain't going to hell, Clay. It already has.
>> 100%.
>> I'm I'm 75 years old and I have seen a change that had I went to sleep at 21 and woke up now, it would scare the living hell out of me.
Death by a thousand paper cuts.
>> Oh, no man. You'd be surprised what a pass load nail gun with a 10 penny nail in the knee will do to a guy.
And I know that sounds cruel. You tell me what this guy deserves. Be honest.
What does he deserve?
>> Well, one of our texters had a good idea. Said, "Bury him in the ground with only his head above dirt and let's see what happens.
Well, and I want to say something about the text line, folks. I love the text line. I love when he reads your text, but you know, I'd like to hear your mouth sometime. I'd like to hear your passion in you and flexing. I'd like to hear a whole lot more people calling in because Clay's got one of the best shows going. I'll put it WAB has got the best host. I'd put them up against any national personality. We're going to have to clip that out and make it official part of the show, aren't we? I believe so. That little line right there, Clay's got one of the best shows and WAB's got one of the best ho lineups of host.
>> But we need to get on the line and call.
That's what fuels a talk show, not a tech show.
>> What wise words for Mr. Buddy?
>> Yeah, I we we kind of created a monster with the text line because it does make it easy. And I don't disagree with you.
I think we uh thought I've often thought about pulling it back a little bit and uh trying to force people to call a little bit. I do want to get people's opinions. The number one thing people tell me, buddy, when I'm out and about is, man, you say the things that I wish I could say. You can say them. We give you the anonymity of the phone line to call and say them. But people need to hear your voices.
>> Let me say something on that, Clay.
Everything I say, I mean, >> 100%. People know who I am and I will back it up and you know you're free to give somebody my phone number.
Anonymity is great, but I hate anonymous callers. You know, uh the uh bravest two people in the world is a man behind the window of a car going 60 miles an hour or one over the phone. You know, I'm like this. Anything I say, if a guy wants to meet me out someplace, we talk about him. We can talk friendly or we can go like two kick. Don't matter. But people, you need to start calling. And tell you what, politicians, judges, pay attention to talk radio.
And WAB is the best talk radio station that I have heard any place. And I get out and travel some. And we need to make our voices rattle and make them loud.
And it'll scare these politicians and these judges into doing the right thing.
You know, put your big boy panties on and call and get loud, get mean. Clay, I enjoy you. Uh, you're a good man and I still want to meet for lunch sometime.
And look, keep giving them hell.
>> All right, man. We're going to end it right there with Buddy's famous line.
Keep giving them hell. Mr. Buddy, I can promise you one thing from the Klay Edwards Show and I'll go on to speak for the other hosts here on WAB and for the audience. We going to do just that, my friend. While you're up there in heaven, we're going to stay down here and we're going to keep giving them hell. Let's take a break. When we come back, we got Sean Jükan queued up ready to bring him on to the screen and we're going to talk about J Mississippi corruption. That's right.
Jody Owens, Shockwe, Antarumba, Aaron Banks from now on will be known as the Free the Land three. Just how screwed are they now that all three of their trials have been lumped together into one? We're going to find out that and more. Don't go anywhere. We'll be right back here on 1039 WY AB.
1039 WYAB.

>> All right, man. Sean, you there?
>> Yep. Can you hear me?
>> Yeah.
>> Too loud.
>> Crystal clear, my friend. Crystal clear.
We got Sean.
>> We got Sean Jükan. Y'all know if y'all don't know Sean, he's a host here at WAB with his show on Saturdays at 11 a.m.
Both sides of the aisle where he discusses all the legal uh information.
He gives a lot of tips and dos and don'ts and kind of bust up the myth of what we call broaw. You know, it's like things you things you think you can get away with that you in fact can't once you've once you've encountered the law law enforcement or the legal system. So, if you think you know everything, put your ego aside and listen to Sean. And if you if you can't uh watch live on or should I say listen live on the radio or watch live on his YouTube or Facebook stream, you can always go back and check it out on the podcast. And what he does that I like a lot and I I do it occasionally is he takes up he takes the video and he cuts all the commercials out of it and then loads it for a commercial free listening experience.
So, uh follow him on YouTube at both sides of the bench. That's right. Both sides of the bench. Yeah, that's it. And I got it's on Apple podcast, Spotify, all that stuff, too.
>> Yeah. Yeah. And if you don't if video is not your thing, you just want to do audio only, uh, app the podcast, the traditional sense of the word podcast.
So, yeah, find that on Apple and Spotify and all those great places. All right, Sean. So, brother, lots of news broke over the last few days and about the, you know, I've been wanting to give these guys a nickname like the West Memphis three. Yeah. But I was just like, for now, my working name is the Free the Land three.
>> Well, look, I think that's uh it's fitting, right? I mean, it's fitting for them.
>> It is. And I've even got a little uh I've even got a little um little picture I did of them here.
>> I saw that early.
>> Yeah. So, uh we we'll leave that up here for a minute. Let me put my background up. All right. There we go. So, we got we got them in I got them all three in their orange jumpsuits. If you're new here, uh, from left to right, that is current district attorney of Hines County, uh, Jody Owens. In the middle, the man that needs no introduction, that is Chockway Antar Leumba. And of course, the man on the right is I gets no respect. Go sit at the kids table, Aeron Banks, uh, Jod's BitC.
So, with all that said, those are my words, not Sean's. I do not do not hold any >> No, I concur. I I'll I'll take the blame for that one, too. I think you're right.
That's that's uh I've never really seen, you know, a grown man get treated like that, actually, just in an FBI transcript or any transcript for that matter, >> man. Sean, where do So, let's start with this. Um, they're we're getting close to this trial getting started. A Have we got a date yet or are they still shooting for June?
>> I think it's the end of July. I can't remember the specific date. Yeah, I think I know it's it's in July. I think it's the end of July. I believe that's right. Something around there. Hell of a way to celebrate America 250 then. As far as I'm concerned, >> I think it I think it starts after the 4th, but but I think I think middle late month, something like that. Judge Jordan had, if you remember, had slotted about six to eight weeks, I believe, of available court time back in November of 2024 when they were indicted or they reserved their indictments. So, I think that's why we waited so long is because there was so much discovery in the case that they they were going to need that much court time. The trial was going to take that long.
True enough. True enough. Well, Sean, over the weekend, it got announced that they were gonna I say over the weekend, towards the end of last week, it got announced they were going to put all three of these trials together and not split Jod's off from Aaron and Chockways or were they all three trying to get a separate trial or were Chockway and Aaron just trying to get removed from Jod's?
>> Yeah, what I recall is I think it was I think that's right. I think it was Chuck Chuckway and uh Aaron were trying to get severed. what's what's called severed from from the district attorney's trial and if you look at Chokeway's motion and he he says basically that I'm going to look as bad as him. I mean just put it simply that's kind of what he said and I said that on my show on Saturday and you'll appreciate this. I said you know if the mayor the former mayor of Jackson is saying that he doesn't want to look as bad as you do you got a problem because that's I mean that's you know what I'm saying just based on who he is and the things that we we feel like he's done. So, >> sorry about that. Yeah. No. Oh, no doubt about it. No doubt about it. He when when Chockway says he don't want to look as bad as you, it is time to question some decisions you've made in your life.
I've always said about if I've suddenly become the moral compass, we're lost.
>> Yeah, that's I mean it just, you know, I read that I kind of laughed out loud. I was >> Yeah, it was it was it was it was pretty funny. But they didn't want to. But the judge kept them together because it is a conspiracy trial. So, a lot of things are going to have to come in to tell the jury the full story basically. So, that's why and and in federal court, they don't they generally when it's a conspiracy counts, they don't sever the defendants. It's very rare in any kind of whether it's a drug case or this kind of public corruption case.
>> Well, you know, the last time I particularly remember it happening was when they severed Anthony Fox off from the other two during that whole witch hunt, and that's when Anthony got got the screws put to him. Yeah, that was right in state court, right? That state court case. And they uh but that was a that was a different I think they were both charged with was it manslaughter or depraved heart murder? One of the two. I can't remember all the three of them. I can't remember exactly which one it was.
But >> that's what that's what Anthony ended up getting getting found guilty of was manslaughter.
>> Right. And so that wasn't I I think they may have indicted them for conspiracy. I can't remember. But that's not I guess a conspiracy in the sense of what we're talking about here. So, what we're talking about here is there was this bribery conspiracy between the mayor, Aaron Banks, the district attorney to get these fake real estate developers, the um the bid on the um convention center hotel, just like if you had like a drug conspiracy where they were conspiring this, you know, traffic drugs. So, a little different than the Anthony Fox thing, I guess, is what I'm saying.
>> Sure. What Lumumba said here, just quoting him real quick, says according to court documents, Lumumba argued that his conduct was quote not part of the same series of acts or transactions as Owens and Banks. That he didn't participate in portions of that alleged conspiracy and all that the alleged conspiracy doesn't exist in a rimless will conspiracy.
It said, and then the jud Judge Jordan rejected these arguments, pointing to the government's the government's note that the quote indictment describes a a unified effort to secure approval of a specific development project through a corrupt payment and influence over through corrupt payments and influence over public officials. And uh it also says the indictment also alleges the common objective of the approval of the developers project, a common inter intermediary in Owens, common participants, a common time frame, and a common method. The judge added, Lumumba offers no reply to this argument and no legal authority suggests that these common aspects fail to create a quote logical relationship.
So just putting that out full context.
>> So do you does what do you think about this? Do you think this kind of just solidifies that they are all three screwed and this pretty much somebody's got to snitch now, right?
>> Well, I think you know, you and I were talking about this, I think this weekend via text, but we've been talking about this for the last couple years, how we've kind of heard quote unquote word on the street was that the case was the weakest against the mayor. And we've heard that narrative being pushed out all over the community. And by my reading, if you read Judge Jordan's order in the motion that specifically discusses the mayor's motion to dismiss, he kind of lays it out there for you pretty well of why this is not very weak against the mayor. And I don't know where that narrative kind of got started. The mayor is trying to say that he wasn't committing what's called an official act. Okay? And I'm not trying to get I'm not getting into legal minutia of all that, but the judge basically slapped that down and said, "Hey, I mean, this code section doesn't require that. You know, you did this.
the juryy's going to get to hear that.
And um so really what what it boils down to, what Marilyn Mumba is left with is a defense of this was political horse trading, if you know what I mean. That would be your best option at this point because you can't say that you weren't paid something to do something like quit natural qu uh quid proquo. So his only thing that he can defend himself on is saying well they you know it was a campaign contribution and therefore I um I did this you know what they they had influence with me they you know that their development sounded like the best so that's why I did you know how politics works the problem for him with that is the question the juror is going to ask and I was a prosecution I'd say well why did you hide the way the manner in which the contributions were deposit in your account and what I mean by that were the five different companies the district attorney had start had issued checks to the Lumumba campaign in $10,000 increments. So, I mean, I think the Jersey Natural would be like, "Well, if it's legit, why are you concealing it?" Or I think anybody would ask that question.
>> Well, you then the quote you sent me over from in there from from the from the court document where Jody initially denies having given me given a politician any money and then he just then he just casually mentions, "Well, I did make a campaign contribution, you know, through to to to Leumba." Like, it was just a few hundred bucks. It was just a very blasoise blloise kind of throwaway comment when in fact it was $50,000 and five $10,000 checks if my memory serves me correct. Yeah, >> it wasn't just a small amount and it was from five different businesses to the max amount you're allowed to give. So just a throw just a throwaway comment there like oh you know it wasn't much.
It was just you know like a dinner a dinner party donation type thing.
>> Yeah. I mean and and like why did you why did he do it anyway would be you know the other question. Why didn't if it was if if the if Maril Mamba the only thing he's got left because he's not going to argue entrapment. I'm sure we'll get to that. But in the and in this case, so he's going to have to his only defense that I see is going to be that it was some sort of political horse trading. Well, then again, begs the question, why didn't the check get written directly from these fake developers to the Lama campaign? That didn't happen. It was hidden through these little corporations that the district attorney started up. So, that kind of looks funny to anybody, I would think. And uh so I think that's what kind of puts him what I'm getting at. I think that puts him in a vice there where he's like, "Okay, I'm going to argue this to the jury and no one's really going to buy that." So, I say my my prediction is he flips. I just don't see that he has any other choice.
>> You think the mayor flips?
>> Absolutely. I don't see what his defense is at this point. I mean, if you read through it and if anybody, you know, you can it's public document now. You can look through it all. Anybody out there, you know, he doesn't have a defense other than what I'm saying is that it's a political horse trade of like this is the way polit you know, politicians get campaign contributions. They do things.
We know that we're all and uh I mean that's what you'd have to say. But the problem for him with that defense is again it was concealed by these corporations that the district attorney had set up. One was Marvey Smith, one was I think the DA's wife's company and I think all those just different companies. So like why did you funnel it that way if this was all legit?
>> Sean if it was legit campaign contribution just give the campaign contribution.
>> Let's let's pick right back up there. We got to take a break real quick. We got Sean Jükan here on the Mazda Jackson live stream discussing the Free the Land 3. Just type in savejxn or clay edwards show and on one or the other it will pop up across the seven different platforms we're streaming on including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook X, Rumble, Twitch, and Kick. And if I left something out, it's probably there, too. We're going to get back to our guest Sean Jük here in one second. Real quick, the segment brought to you by our friends over at Ellis Autolex right there. Highway 471, Flowwood, Mississippi. We call it Little Truck City for a reason. It's cuz they got a whole lot of trucks out there. I'm flipping through the website right now and I have stumbled across one I'm going to call Black Beauty. It is a triple murdered out black on black on black rolling urban assault vehicle. It's a F250.
This thing is gorgeous. 2022 F250 Super Cab priced at only 569. Clay, what do you mean only 569? You go look at this thing and you'll see why. Gorgeous vehicle. Lifted, black wheels, the whole nine yards. It is a diesel. It ain't a gas burner. It is also fully loaded.
100,000 miles, four-wheel drive, gorgeous Lariat trim level. This is it.
You've been looking for it. I just found it for you. Gorgeous. Triple black. That means black rims, black paint, black interior, and of course, tinted windows, aka murdered out. This is the one you're going to be rolling through anywhere.
It's an urban assault vehicle when need be. When the zombie apocalypse pops off, this is the kind of vehicle you want to be in. Swim by Ellis Autolex today or online at lsautoplex.com. Get preapproved and be riding nasty. And I mean that in a good way. All right, let's get back at it. We got Sean Karan over here on the Mazda Jackson live stream. Uh Sean, uh kind of pick up where we left off to an extent here. Um, this is a unique trial with the with the free the land three of Jody Owens, Shockway, Andrew Lamumba, and Aaron Banks. And real quick, I want to address a comment that I saw in the in the chat.
>> Somebody Nicole says, >> "The fact you know Trial Time by Mr. Bigs is funny." Well, first off, Miss Nicole, thank you. And second, look, that song is almost as old as I am. Uh, it was my generation that made that a club banger. Not not millennials, not Gen Z. It was Gen X that put Mr. Bigs on the map. So, uh, shout out to Mr. Bigs from over there in Alabama. And, uh, I think Nicole also says, "Trile Time is the new state song for Alabama, by the way." That's awesome. I wish we had a good state song like that. But we we can have a whole show about songs that should be our state song. But anyway, I want to give Nicole a shout out because anytime you squeeze a little Mr. Big trial time in, it's worth acknowledging.
Game recognized game, Nicole. All right.
So, Sean, this is a unique trial. All these guys, now I don't know about Aaron, but Chwe and Jod have both admitted to guilt and they're and they're trying to take a unique path to a unique path to innocence and that Jod's is trying to say he was drunk and they took he to they took advantage of getting him white girl wasted as you said.
>> Yeah.
>> He's an alcoholic so he should just be forgiven for anything that he did under the guise of his alcoholism. Right.
>> Chuckway is just saying what he did wasn't under unofficial capacity. And am I missing anything there?
>> I mean, that's pretty, you know, that's a good way to sum it up. That's Yeah.
So, Jody and Chuckway's defenses are a little different. Jody is saying he was entrapped. And what that is is you've got to prove two things, right? If you're the defendant. So, it's kind of one of those defenses. It's called an affirmative defense. Means you got to assert it. And the state, I mean, excuse me, the government, the prosecution gets to rebut that. So what you got to do is say one is you got to say the government induced me and by inducement it's like coercion threats that sorts of things to do right in real life not Hollywood talk this is hard to do correct >> man this is really hard to do like >> super hard like because you got to first of all I mean simply you got to admit that you did it so you did it right there that's there's no question about that you're you know you did the act the illegal act so you gota admit that >> which confirms what we've heard for a while that the evidence on this is so overwhelming and going to make the city and all these guys look so bad. There's no way for them to deny that they did this stuff. So, it's this is like their way of kind of jumping in front of that.
You think? Yeah, I think it's, you know, it's your it's your kind of your Hail Mary pass on it because I mean the thing is what I'm thinking is there's no way you you're going to think at least if I'm representing either one of these guys that you're going to get 12 jurors to agree with either one of their defenses and Jod's is an entrapment and then Chokeways is that it wasn't an official act political horse trading. I think he's going to go with the political horse trading thing. I think that's going to be because the judges said you know that doesn't matter the official act portion. So he's gonna I the only defense I think available to him is this was just normal course of campaign kind of dealing, you know. So I think he'll have to do that. And then >> let me ask let me ask this real quick about Jody and political donations. Now look, I know I've been to some political fundraisers and these guys will show up especially in the legislature and they'll do like the $500 check donation thing, you know, whatever. But is it common for a DA, like a sitting DA to donate like $50,000 to a to a mayor in a race? I mean, is that is that usual? And I'm I'm being serious here. Like, >> yeah, know, I know what you're asking.
It's a good point, actually, when you think about it.
>> A large amount to donate? And we understand why that was done, but I'm just kind of curious. Have you heard about when you were working for the DA?
Did Robert Scheler Smith donate $50,000 to Robert uh to uh Johnson or whoever mayor was throughout that time? Yarbor, any of that stuff?
>> No. I mean, and you Melton was initially mayor when when Robert got elected and I we took office there, but no, I don't I don't remember that. I don't remember any DA. I think DAs because they kind of they want to be away from a lot of that.
That's kind of the point of being DA.
You've got to like you got to kind of I was talking to a friend of mine that's a former prosecutor the other day. You kind of have to you kind of have to remove yourself from the community because of your position. It's different than being mayor or councilman. You know, you're the district attorney.
People want things from you. That's why it's so to answer your question, it's very odd to be that involved when you have that position.
>> Yep. Uh Sean, we we're this hour has flown by. We got about two minutes left here. What do you you got any high points that you want to mention on this before we jump out of here?
>> Sure. So, real quickly, Jody's defense now is entrament is what? Well, the judge decided he's not going to throw it out on what's called a matter of law. So now, but he said you can argue it to the jury. So, he can argue this to the jury.
He's got to say the government induced me. That's his whole alcohol thing that you hear about, right? That's how he was. They they became friends with him.
They got him drunk, took advantage of his alcoholism. And then the second prong is what's called predisposition where you are predisposed to commit a criminal act. And you can, one of the things I was reading some of the case law last night. One of the things about it to prove predisposition is your readiness to be involved in the crime.
And I don't know about you, Clay, can you see anybody that was more ready to be involved in this than the district attorney? the the amount the his involvement he like he got like the A+ award for how much he went into this thing you know and I mean >> award all the way and I mean like he he's most valuable he was the MVP for sure he >> he was the MVP I mean even to the point and I didn't know this till yesterday you sent me the article and then I called Anthony Warren from LBT who wrote it about he he convinced Marvey Smith who's also I think I assume testifying against him to have sex with the parks director was it or one of the directors >> who was a female by the way >> yeah to get to get information on the council is that that's from the filing.
I mean, so you got my point is this.
This is how calculating he was >> to do all these different things. So >> that's not the acts of a drunk man. That is a very very sober, wellthoughtout uh man, thoughts of a man there that was trying to get this money. Sean, we are out of time, brother. Uh thank you so much for jumping on. Y'all don't go anywhere. We'll be right back on the CLA show. 1039 WYB.

If you guys are interested, you need to go and buy tickets for this thing. It could end up being a legit hard sellout.
Uh, I will be there set up, selling shirts, uh, meeting and greeting folks, just doing what we do. I'll have a crew with me. We're going to have a good time. You'll see the big FFO booth. It looks nice. It looks mighty nice. Uh, so we'll be set up in the in the main room there, >> uh, watching the fights and meeting folks and selling merch and doing all that good stuff. And how about we give away some free tickets for Friday night?
I got a pair of free tickets. You're going to get on the VIP list. Not VIP, but you're going to get on the wheel call list. So, you just all you got to do is show up and your name will be at the door. So, let me think about it through this segment exactly how I want to give away. And at the top of the next segment, Andrew and I are going to give away some free tickets for the about time brawling event this Friday night at the Clyde Muse Center in Pearl. So, here's the deal. You can't transfer them. Don't if you win, don't text me later and say, "Clay, I got to put a different name on there." Not going to do any of that stuff. This is a oneand done. If you can't go, don't try to win.
if you can go win and use the tickets.
That's all I ask. Uh we we try to take care of our folks. We try to get our folks hooked up with cool prizes that nobody else is doing. And uh we're going to have a good time Friday night in Pearl, Mississippi. All right, Andrew, what's been going on, man? What's going on in the news out there? You you I you and I ain't had much of a time to talk about the redistricting.
>> No.
>> And the cancelling of the uh the cancelling of the special session. What?
>> So, what are your thoughts on the special session being cancelled? I'll tell you mine synopsis of mine real quick. Y >> I'm not my hair ain't on fire about it.
I've I've I've stepped back and I've thought about it for a minute and I just I don't think you had time to change anything before the election. We've already had our primaries is the biggest issue.
>> Yep.
>> And I just don't know what you accomplish by by rushing it when let's take our time. Let's do it right. And let's uh now should there have already been something in place to pull the trigger on this? Yeah. I think like Tennessee already had something in place ready to go. Uh Mississippi didn't. I guess they are working on redistricting, but you know, and I don't like some of the excuses that I've heard, you know, well, you know, what if what if we turn a a red district purple or this that and the other. We can't live in fear.
>> Yeah, >> we can't live in fear of that. We we we got a district Benny out, however you do it. I mean, if it's now or if it's 27, whatever. it.
>> Well, well, it to me personally, how I looked at it was from more of a out ofstate perspective where everybody outside the state of Mississippi looks at Mississippi and says that we're blood red, but when you live inside Mississippi for a while, you realize that there are some places that are pretty purple and there's some places that are blue.
>> Oh, our capital under the dome is very purple.
>> Yeah, absolutely. And uh I had a a lot of texts and people were calling me too, but I I was just putting them to voicemail because I couldn't speak. But I was just explaining, you know, that there isn't a sense of urgency inside Mississippi to get rid of Benny Thompson through redistricting. And uh you know, the lieutenant governor has put together his select committee on redistricting.
And you would think that in a Republican state that would be heavily Republican, but he's put on a couple of Democrats, including the the minority leader in the Senate. And that's why we have elections is we want to have Republicans in there to elect more Republicans. I mean, we got rid of Melanie Sojourer, arguably the most conservative senator in Mississippi.
>> But we did pick up Brian Rhodess.
>> Yeah, arguably she I I have never met Ryan. I'm sure he's a great dude, but >> I I'm a vouch for Brian. He's he's a great guy.
>> So, we got him, but but Melany's district went blue, I believe. And so, you know, how are these maps going to be redrawn? I've heard the argument that uh if we redraw the districts that we might get uh two Republican and now two Democrat. That is absolutely ridiculous thinking. Uh I went through all every county in Mississippi on air, district by district, and went through and show showed that that's just not possible. Now, that might end up going some way for like a a state house race or a state senate race if you got kind of finicky with that. But even so, uh I really don't see the the the possibility of that happening there. If anything, the two the three Senate seats that we redrew because of this last year, um it would put Don Hartness at risk because it would revert back to the way it was.
But uh we would get those other two Senate seats back up in Dotto County, which would put us at a supermajority in the Senate. Again, it's all about leadership and those who are at the top pulling the strings. And you know, I'm not going to sit there and start like weighing current electeds for it. I I I do wish we would have redistricted, but uh living in Mississippi for almost 10 years now, I understand uh nothing in Mississippi moves quick at all. And >> hold on, hold on, hold on. Let me say this. Slow as molasses.
>> Slow as molasses.
>> I actually saw some molasses yesterday on a available for purchase. I stopped by Dors Ber's Farmers Market there in Pearl to get some some eggs. I was in an egg crisis yesterday and needed some.
And my my buddy Marty's dropping me some fresh ones off today, but I needed some yesterday.
>> Anyway, so we saw them by Dors Berries to get some of the freshest eggs we can buy anyway. And uh they had molasses on the counter. I mean on the shelf available. And me and the girlfriend were talking about it. She goes, "I hate that word. I hate when people say slow as molasses." I said, "I know. It's probably the word that I probably have said the name of that food or that item more than any. I've never actually eaten molasses. I'll just put pancake sharp on my on my pancakes. Not molasses." But it's just fun to say it. Molasses.
>> Molasses.
>> The way southerners just draw molasses.
Slow as molasses out. But anyway, yeah, that's one thing about Mississippi is we're not going to we ain't going to be on the forefront of anything >> ever.
>> And that's I think what is >> for better or worse.
>> We Yep. And I think that's why so many Republicans outside the state of Mississippi get so frust frustrated with the Mississippi district and in or congressional team that we send to DC is be because we're more we're not as risk-taking. We're much more cautious and and I >> I would like to be more risk takingaking. I would like I would like somebody I would like a governor when he chooses to tweet not wait two weeks to tweet about something like he's making a hot take two weeks after it's already >> circled out of the news cycle. But he had to do some polling and you know get the temperature of the room and lick his finger and see what way the wind was blowing and got to make sure that the base agrees with this before I reply to it. Like you stop. Well, you know, Clay, this brings up the point that I've been making since, well, long before I came to WIBB, but since I've gotten here, is, you know, 2027 and 2028 are coming up.
And the one way to change the Republican party is to become part of the party.
And uh to be a precinct delegate takes you one Saturday morning and 10 of your best friends that live in your uh precinct and and off you're running into the races. But um you know I think even if President Trump made the put the tweet out there saying hey Mississippi you got to do something and called out Governor Reeves and Lieutenant Governor Hoseman and Speaker Jason White um we probably wouldn't do anything. We we we're on it. So I didn't really lose too much sleep over it. I spoke about it when I thought that there might be some wiggle room to do something. And you know, of course, the Facebook warriors were out in force. I'm not too fond of the Facebook warriors. The ex people who are twe tweeting on X much more reliable, much more sound reasoning. Um, you know, they were out there doing their thing.
But just goes to show you that signs, Facebook posts, and X tweets don't win elections. Going out and voting actually wins elections.
>> Hand-tohand combat, my friend. Yep. you know, knocking on doors, shaking hands, kissing babies, all that stuff. That is what you got to do to win elections. You can you can be Chris McDaniel >> has proven that you can be super popular.
>> You can have a million followers, >> but that does not translate to winning elections around here.
>> It doesn't translate >> or probably anywhere to be honest outside of New York with uh with uh AOC.
>> And it's a little bit more difficult to do it. You know, you said that you you grew up here and you know the politics how Mississippi are slow. Uh we want to be more risky. I come from Chicago where a Republican is an endangered species and so the risk is much more uh acceptable to me and to go doortodoor here in Mississippi. I mean I've been bit by dogs and all sorts of stuff going doortodoor. So it's a little bit different animal here in Mississippi than it is in suburbia.
It's got to be done. And you can't just like wake up 3 weeks before you got to file to be become a candidate to run for office. You you got to make that decision preferably a year and a half, two years in advance so you can start building your team beforehand. So you have the t table already set so that way when you announce you've got your team in place, you got your ground game going. You got your your poll your polling going if you're going to do that. You know, it just depends on the size of the election that you're running for, too.
>> Yeah. All right, let's take a break real quick. We got Andrew Agasa. No breaks here in the studio. You're looking for somewhere to grab some lunch today. How about my buddies over there on Lake Harbor Drive? They've been buzzing around since 1982. The little yellow bumblebee right there on the sign. McB's Bar and Grill. It's a big long cabin dive bar right there.
Been there for a long time. Like I said, since 1982. It's last great Gen X dive bar left in the Tri County area to the best of my knowledge. Unless there's one hiding somewhere that your boy don't know about. But check them out today for lunch. They got their Rotail Chicken Spaghetti. I know you chicken spaghetti snobs out there. You chicken tetrazini kn snobs out there that always try to correct me. That's not chicken spaghetti. That's chicken rotail. That's chicken. It's melted cheese with rotail tomatoes, pasta, chicken. Probably cream of chicken soup somewhere in it, too.
And it's good. And I call it chicken spaghetti. Or I'll call it rotail chicken. Call it whatever you want. I call it good. You can go get it today on the blue plate special at McB's Bar and Grill if that's not your cup of tea. How about their hamburger steak, their hand battered country fried steak, or their grilled chicken breast? You can substitute any of them. They got about 10 or 12 sides that are available every day. So, if you got a side you like, you had it on Monday, guess what? You're going to have it on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday as well. They don't rotate sides. They have the same bunch of sides every day, which I love that. I love that. All right, let's take a break real quick. That's McB's Bar and Grill for lunch today. Doors open at 11:00.
Get there early. Enjoy. Tell them I said hey. We'll be right back on the Clewood Show. 1039 Wab.

>> Welcome back >> to the Clay Edwards Show. Breaking rules.
>> Here we go.
>> Breaking rules when necessary. That's what we do around here. Welcome back in to the Klay Edwards Show. Quick correction.
This entire time I have thought that about time brawling event was Friday night. It is this Saturday night, not Friday night. My bad on that. Thank you Casey Ellis over at Ellis Autolex for for the heads up there because I'd have said Friday till some tell till till somebody till I showed up there with my stuff ready to get in the door. if nobody had corrected me between now and then. You know, Andrew, you just get in your head that that something is something.
>> And it's like I don't know, a month ago I decided this was on a Friday night cuz I've been thinking in my head like, man, Friday night, man, that's tough. People got to get off work and go home, get ready, get there. You know, Friday night's a good night for stuff. Don't get me wrong because it's payday and all that and you ain't people ain't got all day Saturday to talk themselves out of it >> because at a certain age, that's what you start doing, right? Yep. If I got all day to sit around the house and I get to get ready, I can talk myself out of something and like, you know what, I'm I'm just going to stay home tonight.
But if it's Friday and I got to rush and boom, boom, boom. I'm more apt to rush and go.
>> Sense of purpose, >> right? Because I I'm just I ain't had time to do nothing all day and get lazy, right? Or start a project at the house and not be able to peel myself off from that project. Yep.
>> That almost happened Saturday. We had made my mind that we were going to go to Cypress Point to hit some hit up some crawfish. They had their big ducks unlimited crawfish ball >> and I had just been cra I ain't no crawfish all year.
>> Not not a single bug all year and >> uh we showed up there. Anyways, but I I pulled my desk out from the wall and I redid I re it looked like it was a fire hazard. I ain't going to lie. There's a fire all the extension cords and power strips and and everything and Andy I I pulled out three power strips and two extension cords I'm no longer using. A I bought a new better power strip >> uh that's got some USB ports and stuff in it and all that. So I was able to rip some stuff out. I got a few things over there that I'm not using anymore. Was able to get all that out of there >> and just condense it down. But I got it all cleaned up. Clean my desk off good.
Yeah. You see stuff gets cluttered.
>> Yep.
>> And then if your desk is cluttered, your brain is cluttered.
>> And that's what it started happening.
And I just I wasn't working from my desk as much because it was just cluttered and dirty. It's like I got to stop. got a full I pulled unhooked the computer, everything, pulled the desk out. Anyway, I say all that to say this. I planned on leaving the house by about 5. We we ended up getting to Cypress Point, which is about 20 minutes from my house, >> about five minutes to where the Crow flies, but unfortunately there ain't enough back roads in Ranking County from downtown Brandon to uh to Highway 25.
There's 471.
>> Y >> anyway, so it takes about 20 minutes to get there. We end up getting there at 7:30.
>> Wow.
>> So, but uh shout out to Burnham Road.
They were playing uh TJ and Laura Lee.
Phenomenal as always. Shout out to Buck Almond Jr. Uh he was running the sound and lights. It looked phenomenal. If y'all have not been out there lately since Buck took over running the sound and lights and no offense to anybody else that was doing it, they were great, too. But uh Buck's just they've made a the venue's made a big commitment bringing in the Almonds to to to manage the sound and lights for the band that it is big league. It really as a guy that really enjoys that stuff myself.
Uh, it makes a band, if a band band can sound great, they need to look great, too.
>> I'm just gonna be honest, in a nightclub environment, uh, it ain't just about the music, it is about the presentation. And man, they got the big LED lights, the moving headlights, the big production.
It looks like an arena show shoved into a small club stage and it looks awesome.
Anyway, the mud bugs were great. They were spicy, which I love. I don't want lemony. I don't want over lemony flavor trying to appeal to the masses, >> you know? I want I want hot crawfish.
Dang it. Fire. They were hot. And then Kelly, the owner, Kelly and Mo, shout out to them. They took good care of us.
We'll just say that. Uh she hooked me up with a plate of royal red boiled shrimp.
>> And I was already full. So we took those home >> and man, they were so good. My gouts flared up. They were so good that that that that acidic acid or whatever in them, you know, messes with my gout sometimes.
>> And I know I'm such an old man. I've had but I've been dealing with that since my 20s. Anyway, I can I know it was good cuz this morning when I got up, my foot was tender. I I ate a lot of shrimp. But what did Pimp C say from UGK? You might not know this, Andrew. You don't seem like a big uh UGK fan, but Pimp C said, "I ate so many shrimp, I got iodine poisoning."
>> Oh my gosh.
>> Yeah. I ate so many shrimp, I got iodine poisoning. But uh look, they're great.
If you see Cypress Point advertising a crawfish boil or their Royal Red shrimp stuff on the weekends, I can't uh emphasize it enough. You need to get out there and try those dang shrimp. I'm not what you would call a shrimp afficionado, >> but man, I I said they were the best shrimp I've ever had. They're huge.
>> Yep.
>> I mean, the girlfriend, we still had some left and the girlfriend got like four or five of some. She's eating steak and shrimp for lunch today.
>> Uh it sounds more extravagant than it is, but we just talking about the leftovers that we had.
>> So, anyway, good stuff there, man. Get out to Cypress Point and keep up with all the all the stuff they have going on over there on their Facebook page and website and all that.
>> Uh let's see here. Andrew, let's give away some tickets to About Time Brawl. I said we're going to give some away. It's this Saturday night and one of my friends, Shell Shock, Haley Shell from Pearl, Mississippi.
>> She's about 4 foot five. Uh she's about 5 feet, you know, at the most. 5t tall.
And Dynamite comes in small packages, my friend.
>> Yep.
>> I posted videos of Haley knocking out girls my size. I She is a beast. She's the about time brawling, whatever her weight class is, champ. Uh, she's gonna be defending the b the belt. I don't know the I'll have to go back and pull the flyer up. Whatever. Pearl Mississippi's very own Haley Shell Shock Shell is gonna be the main event. She's headlining this. A a woman headlining.
>> You know, they talk about they want DEI.
Well, we got a black girl from Pearl, Mississippi headlining the dang uh event right there in Pearl Saturday night.
It's going to be awesome. I I'll post some videos. I'll try to have Haley on the show this week. We're working on getting some of the fighters lined up.
Y'all know I like to keep it simple with these contests. I don't want you jumping through hoops and doing all that for me.
The first person that can call through, get through the phone line, and you gota you got to say Mr. Buddy's catchphrase, give them hell. Uh, so the first person that makes the phone ring, 601-879002, wins two tickets this Saturday night for About Time Brawling at the Clyde Muse Center in Pearl, Mississippi. I'm waiting on the blue light to light up.
601879002.
Winner winner chicken dinner.
You're a winner. Who am I talking to?
>> Tony.
>> Well, I say you're a winner. What do you got to say to win? Give them hell.
>> I like it. Tony, uh, if you don't want to tell me your last name on the radio, you can text it to me and I'll get you on the guest list there. You got my text number?
>> Uh, give it to me.
>> Uh, 76. Yeah. 769241 1 944. And you'll be at you'll be you'll have two tickets at will call.
>> 769241 >> 944 944. You got it, bud. Yeah, brother.
Congrats. Uh, we're gonna give away a pair a day.
>> That's awesome.
>> I got five pair of tickets to give away.
We're gonna give away a pair every day between now and Friday. So, congratulations to Tony, our first winner of the week.
>> That was quick.
>> Yeah, man. I like to keep it simple. And we're live. Andrew, you know, you can't rig stuff like that either. You know, it's like this is in there's no rigging it.
>> So, no favoritism, should I say, >> you know, it's streamed live. It's not like you sit there and gave out the information beforehand. Y >> and uh that's cool, man. WIB doing great stuff.
>> Yeah. And you know, if you got an event you want to give away tickets, and I my friends down at Jackson Motor Speedway, they always trying to give me tickets to give away and I they wait till after the show or I miss it. So, just a quick plug for my friends down at Jackson Motor Speedway, the dirt track down there and buy them. Uh guys, that is great affordable family fun. You know, all you there's nothing to do around here people. Uh there's plenty to do. And this is one of the things that gets the sand in my crawl, as they say, Andrew.
Yep.
>> Uh the the there's nothing to do around here people. They're the same people like the panicans.
>> Yes.
>> You know, they just they don't want to do the things there are to do. They don't want to suffer through the hard times. They don't want to put in the effort to go do the things to do. And you got to sometimes step out your comfort zone. Like Saturday night, the fights down there. Y >> you know, that might not be your jam, but I promise once you get there and you're enjoying it in person, I tell people like that have never been to a WWE event that claim they don't like wrestling. I'm just using WWE as an example. Once you get there and you're get get the best seats you can, that does help. The closer you are to the action, the more fun it is because you interact with the wrestlers as they're coming down. You will leave a fan or you'll at least enjoy it. You won't go and have a bad time. So, step outside your comfort zone. Do something you might not normally do.
>> Yeah. Some of those tickets now for WWE, they're expensive to get in that front row. You're talking thousands of dollars, you know, and but they are bringing back house shows. Me and Ted Debiosi Jr. were talking about that Friday. They are bringing back some house shows now, but those are that's the most affordable way to go see WWE.
But a if AEW comes to your neighborhood, you know, don't sleep on them. They're affordable and I'll be honest, it's better wrestling.
>> Yeah. Auh MJF is really awesome. And uh it's really cool. Kevin Owens just came out on TikTok the other day. I don't know if you saw that. They're having a house show in Canada and K I don't think KO is performing, but I think he's going to actually show up.
>> Yeah, he's been out injured for almost a year now.
>> Yeah, man. He they showed the incision on the front of his neck where they >> went for his back.
>> Yeah. I just like wow.
>> He was at Welcome to Rockville last week, the big music festival at Daytona.
>> Oh yeah.
>> Yeah. I saw some fans got some pictures with him. I saw that floating around online. I'm a big KO fan. I'll never forget when he came out and beat John Cena on his first night on the main roster.
>> Yep.
>> And John Cena is a US Open match challenge thing or US Championship open match blah blah blah. That was it was fun at the time. It's one of those events where I'll never forget where I was when he came out because you don't just beat John Cena, much less coming up from NXT, an indie guy, come beat John Cena for a belt.
>> For a belt >> on your first night on the main roster.
That's how you make a star.
>> And that's why I was kind of disappointed they didn't do that to Gunther. Not I'm sorry, not Gunther to Oba after he beat Brock. He should have come out the next night and beat Roman at Man at the Raw after Mania.
>> That would have been awesome.
>> It would have. Or beat Cody. Yeah. You know, either or. But I thought Roman would have said even more because I mean, let's just be honest, Roman's 1A.
>> Mhm.
>> Cody's A-1.
>> Yep.
>> Roman's QB1.
>> Yep. I I agree with that. You know, and getting back to KO real quick, Kale only had that one run as WWE Champion when he was running with Jericho and they had the the Friend Festival of Friends and all that. I always wish Kale would have had another run because he just I mean his stuff was incredible. The time he ran off the wall and did the flip in the air and oh my gosh it was >> man remember during the during the co era was it was it KO vers who did it was it KO versus Roman >> one I mean KO did some insane stuff.
>> Yeah he did in in the Thunderdome there.
I was thinking it was I think I was thinking it was against Roman. Anyway, it doesn't matter. I would like to see him get a run as champ as either a a heel or a face without any sideshow stuff.
>> Just let Kevin be >> let KO be KO. Just let it he can be a heel or a face. He'd make a great tweener.
>> He doesn't have to be either or. Just let him be the Stone Cold type character he is and just let him raise hell.
Praise Dale.
>> You know, that's something that's high praise right there because not many people can do what Stone Cold did, but KO could definitely do.
>> I think so. Yeah, 100%. And it's no accident that Stone Cold came out of retirement for him.
>> Yep. Yep. and G also allowed him to use the stunner too.
>> I went back and watched that match the other day >> um when I was working out. Yeah, because just that brawl I was because I was left I was left a little wanting a little more out of the out of the uh Mania this year. I didn't dislike it. I'm not a hater. It was fun, but I was just disappointed that we didn't get stone cold and I'm always disappointed when we don't get stone cold. And so I went back and I watched that again >> uh in in a sober state of mind and like really focused on it because I've been when it happened live I've been doing some drinking, you know. Yep. and having a good time with it. But went back and watched it and the fact that Stone Cold came out and had that 20s something minute brawl. I mean, but he let him suplex him onto the concrete. I mean, insanity.
>> I could They were in the back, you know, they they like they would make the boys pop. Y >> the boys were popping in the back.
>> But, uh, anyway, let's take a break real quick. When we come back, uh, Andrew, open forum, man. 601879002 is the phone line this morning. The LS Autolex text line is 769-2411944.

h&h quality equipment, knowledgeable service and solutions that work as hard as you do. And a radio host that likes to make a joke out of everything. I'm still a 13year-old 14-y old boy in hard.
I really am just giggity giggity, you know, anytime I get a chance.
>> Do it.
>> So, Andrew.
>> Yes, sir.
>> Um, I'm I'm starting a search here today on the Clay Edward Show.
>> It's going to be a bit of a competition of sorts.
>> And we're looking for the next great radio host here at WAB.
>> Let's do it.
>> And if you are interested in doing that and you have here's here's what the prize is going to be. The prize is going to be a one-hour time slot on Saturdays.
uh around lunchtime.
Uh that's kind of what we're thinking.
You know, the TB TBA on that TBD to be determined to be announced. Um but we're just kind remember shooting for Saturdays around lunch. Uh you'll get one hour a week. That's how I started. I bought I had to buy one hour a week here on WB. I It cost me money out of my pocket to get started. But you paid the cost to be the boss, right? Yep. Now, I think in this I I think I can twist the boss man's arm into not charging for the first month or something like that. You know, I didn't said it. He'll have to honor it. If you win something, you got to get something, right?
>> Yeah.
>> You know, I think that we will uh you know, we we'll help you get started. You know, I'll come in. I I'll I'll produce it. I'll help you get started >> and I will commit my time to you to help make you the next great WAB host. Um I've done the same for others. Other people helped me. Jameson helped me. Kim helped me. Uh Mike Madison helped.
Everybody helped Clay get to where I'm at. It was not a oneman thing by no means. Uh at home or well at home it was definitely a oneman thing, but here it was a it was a group effort. And Kim Way told me to pay it forward over the years. And I think I've done that. I've helped Lindsay get her show. I helped Shawn uh get his show. You know, I've assisted you and in things. Yes, you have.
>> You know, and others who have come and gone. But >> uh here's the deal. So if you think you got what it takes, you know, if you got the gift to gab, if you got hot takes, if you think you can, if you think your opinion matters more than others, if you think, you know, you're the life of the party, whatever, if people have told you like the ads that like the commercial we got running says, if people have told you you should have a radio show, you should do a podcast, this is your opportunity. Uh, this is your opportunity to do it and do it on a 50,000 watt news talk station that's the most powerful in the state of Mississippi.
>> Yep.
>> Like I said, I did it for I think three months on Saturdays uh before I ever got offered the the weekday show and then I got one live show during the week. It was like I think we were just Mondays it was live for one hour >> and then uh it it grew to Tuesday and then literally the show grew as organically as as one could, right? It went from one day 1 hour to two days, 1 hour, 3 days, etc., etc. Then Monday was two hours. Tuesday was two hours. And nothing came all at once. We didn't go to five days all at once. We didn't go to two hours all at once. It was a natural progression. And it's going to be a two-hour show. I'm not expanding to three hours. That's just that's an hour too much in my opinion. But, you know, we'll do it here and there.
>> Yep.
>> But anyway, with that said, so here's the deal. Here's how you do it. You need to email me. So, instructions matter.
Don't text me. Email me claywab.com.
Uh, tell me why you think you should be the next great host here at wab. You know, tell me tell me your political opinions. Like I said, you don't have to be a Republican. You don't have to be a Democrat. You can be a tweener. You can be whatever. You know, but it's obviously you got to be talk politics and culture. That's what we do here at WAB. You got to be you can't be afraid to let them things hang.
>> Yep. You know, you got to be don't worry about the blowback. If you're worried about cancel culture, probably ain't going to be the job for you. I'm just going to be honest. But you also got to, you know, have the potential ability to figure out a way to do this full-time if you get the call. You know, if it works out, do you have the ability to come in five days a week? Now, I ain't saying that you ain't got to have a job. I mean, but just be thinking in your head, can you do it? And here's the most important part of this. Can you sell sponsorships? You got a friend that owns a business. Do you own a business and want to sponsor yourself? You know, be thinking about that. That's going to be a big part of this. You know, radio ad sales matter. Uh that's frankly that's going to be the most important aspect of this is can you sell some ads and show that uh if we invest in you that you can get people to invest in you. You know, are you scared to walk in and try to sell yourself? Uh that's why it's great to have the one hour time slot on Saturdays. It gives you it gives your ad potential advertisers a little bit of sample of what you can do and whatnot.
So, email me [email protected].
What I'm going to do is I'm going to pick some people and I'm going to bring you in to co-host my show with me.
>> That's going to be awesome.
>> Yeah, we're gonna pick a week and schedule's permitting, five straight days, Monday through Friday. I want to have a g a co-host in here every day.
You It'll be three of us on Mondays and Tuesdays. You'll be sitting with Andrew and I. So, that's the that is the offer there. If you think you got what it takes, let me know. I'll weed through them. I'm going to do my research because if I'm vouching for you, I'm gonna pick the winner on this thing. I'm just going to be honest with you. I ain't going to show no favoritism.
Can you talk and can you sell ads? That is going to be the two most important factors. We are not running a charity here. We're not running a uh a right-wing pack or anything like that.
You know, we this is a business. We're going to run it like a business. And uh but we we do you got to be you got to not suck, you know, but there's understand that we we know there's room for growth. I sucked. Some people say I still suck, you know, but you got to be able to talk and uh you got to be able to form a good opinion. And uh so anyway, if you're interested in it, email me clayw.com and tell me what you think you bring to the table and why you should be the next great host. You can be straight, gay, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, none of that matters.
Just can you do this? Do you think you got what it takes to get people's ear?
>> It's the It's going to be the content content that you can produce over the airwaves, not so much on anything else.
We're looking just for good talent here at the WYB family.
>> Yeah. And if you can you can stream your show to the internet, whatever. All that's great, too. But first and foremost, it's a radio show.
>> Yep. Absolutely.
>> And you know, we'll show you how to turn it into a podcast. I'll help you with all the backend stuff if you don't know how to do it. But we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Right now, what I'm offering is the winner a Saturday afternoon or Saturday one hour talk show. That's how we all started around here for the most part. Either that or filling in for other hosts >> and stuff like that. So, there's more there's more than one way to get to the to get to the prize.
>> All right, let's take a break here real quick. Come back, land the plane for the day online. Don't go nowhere. We're gonna stay with y'all for a minute.
Radio, we'll be right back. And what what's today? Monday.
>> Monday.
>> Lindsay.
>> Lindsay is filling in. Lindsey Beckham will be here at 9:00 to fill in for >> Matt Bishop. So you got Lindsay Beckham coming up from 9 to 10, then again from noon to 1 with Andrew here from 10 to noon.
>> That's right.
>> So Lindsay Beckham 9 to 10, Andrew 10 to noon, Lindsay noon to 1. We'll be right back on the Clward Show.
>> All right, Andrew. Unrelated.
>> Yeah. Uh because I've seen some people mention in the comments like for some reason acting like I'm not mentioning this.
>> Uh a a Republican uh legislator got a DUI up in North Mississippi. This just ain't really the kind of stuff I talk about on this show.
>> I'll talk about it.
>> But yeah, just I guess it'll be acknowledged that a white Republican got a uh got a DUI in North Mississippi. I just, you know, this just doesn't do much for me talking about that kind of stuff.
>> He shouldn't have done it. He's an idiot.
>> He's an idiot. And you know, it'll be reflected in this next election. Yeah.
>> But I mean, what do you want him to do?
>> No, I'll vote for a Republican that got a DUI before I vote for a Democrat.
It'll it'll it will reflect in his next primary.
>> Yeah. It'll Well, his next primary election, but I mean, it's it's it's not like something if he was arrested for burglary or child molestation or tax evasion. I mean, >> it it I mean, they're they're humans, too. It's like once you become elected politician, people expect you to turn into Jesus, and it's just not that way.
>> Or talk show host.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Oh, you how dare you criticize anybody else if you've ever done anything wrong. Well, cuz that's how I roll.
>> Cuz I can cuz I I can do two things at once. I can I can be a screw-up and still call you a screw-up.
>> Absolutely. I mean, just because uh you might have screwed up in the past doesn't mean what you did now doesn't mean you can't comment on it, whatever.
>> I know that's so weird. I mean, I was saying the other day, just kind of making a point, I I could get a DUI tonight and tomorrow when I got out of jail, if I saw somebody else do it, I could give them the FAFO award without any shame.
>> Yep. And um Jackson Jumbo had that. He's got his mug shot and all that. So, I'll make sure that because I saw that when I was show prepping.
>> Yeah, I got it here on WLBT. Let's see here. I got it right here. You know, I've met I think I've met this dude before. I I really not don't have much of a relationship with too many of the legislators outside of a couple of the guys around here. Fred and Jill Ford and a couple of them. Uh Brian Rhodess and few I hate when I start naming names because then you end up leaving somebody off and why don't you say my name?
>> Yep. Yep. Yep.
>> Yeah. Let's see here. Pull pull his mug up here.
>> State Hail was released on a $1,500 bond early Saturday morning. Hail has there he is on the screen there for anybody.
What was his name? H >> scheduled to appear at court August 26.
Jeffrey Hail from Dotto County.
I mean, I'm going to do it. Scientist, astronaut, engineer, future, engineer, future, rocket, engineer, and astronaut.
Jeffrey Hill is >> this is Joy. She's a very happy and found out brand.
>> But her parents and Nick are people who say I don't give out award to white folks. consolable crying >> and let me be clear here. I don't think that didn't hurt anybody else >> uh is worth is FAFO award worthy >> you know we try to reserve that thing for just the most of the worst of the worst kind of crimes you know when you're running from the police getting shot by the cops trying to shoot a cop um you know just really really ridicing the streets of Jackson into a scene out of Grand Theft Auto.
We're back.
Welcome back in to the Klay Edwards Show. 1039 WYB. I'm running my mouth there during the break. I do apologize when it bleeds over like that. I know it's not very professional, but uh hey, it is what it is. Let's see here real quick. Uh Chip wanted me to let y'all know that he's got over at Beethoven's Boardwalk today. The blue plate special is fried chicken and hamburger steak.
That's right there next to [ __ ] at the walk. I went by there Thursday. I had to pick up some My grandmother's in a rehab facility after surgery uh like a nursing home type place and she uh needs she wanted something to eat but had to be soft and I was like meatloaf meatloaf is soft and I love meatloaf so I went by there and got it got it uh I got me a plate to eat there and I got her to go plate and meatloaf was good so uh fried chicken and hamburger steak is the blue plate of the day there Beethoven's boardwalk and um uh again the uh I I had my night I had my wires crossed so this This Saturday night is the big about time brawling event, not Friday. Uh you can go to Facebook and just type in about time bout about time brawling and ticket information and all that will be available there. And of course we're giving away a pair every day here on the Clay Edward show. Shout out to Tony for winning the first pair. So uh let's see here. Andrew, what you going to be talking about on your show today?
>> Um well, we are going to talk about that Republican who got the DUI up in Dotto County. We're going to talk about the F-18s that collided over the air show in Idaho, I believe, Mountain Home Air Force Base. Uh we're going to be talking about the disclosure craziness that's going on and uh whatever else tickles my fancy, but I've got those three big things really lined up because I I think that we need to go ahead and really devote some time into especially what's all going on in Iran. Why are two EA18 Growlers at roughly $150 million a piece doing air shows? Uh we you know that's why we have the Blue Angels and I understand having one there just to kind of show it off and everything but in my 21-year military career I never saw EA E6Bs doing formation flying like that. And I mean what happened when if you watch the video it is downright frightening. They actually pancake together Clay and they couldn't separate and all four of them punched out and grace of God they made it.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Somebody in the comments says why do y'all look so evil? That's just the first thing I get when looking at y'all. Can you explain? Good genetics, I guess. I don't know.
>> You're welcome.
>> Glad you're watching.
>> Tell your mom I said, "Hey."
>> All right. Coming up next, Lindsay Beckham, followed by Andrew Gosser, 10 to noon, 1039 WYB. I'll be back here tomorrow, 7 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Salute.
Peace.
