Now that we're back here, I don't know if you guys remember the island video we just did, but we went out stayed on an island, but the island is only an island during specific periods of time when the river gets high. Well, when it drops for the summer, which is what it's doing now, all of that water disappears from the back side of the island, and it just becomes pools, and they completely dry up, and if there's any fish in there, they die. Our goal is to drive all the way to the Trinity, maybe fish, maybe fish for a little bit, and see if we can find a fish in one of those pools, rescue it, and put it back in the main river. This is rescuing a river monster, which we have never done, and it is absolutely possible. The only problem is we have to go back to the rapids on another like 8-mile journey all the way to the island. And we have no bait. And we have no bait.

Hopefully Josh can get us to where we need to go. And unfortunately, we do have to go past the rapids again.

[00:21:43]That means there's fish There's fish in here. I I guarantee you there's a 4- or 5-ft gar swimming in here, 100%. And by the way, there's no access back to the river. And the river it's not going to rain enough again for this to get up for these fish to get out. I don't think it will. Oh my goodness, did you see that over there?

But we're going to have to give this a few weeks before we get anything out of here. It's too full still. I think that's literally too deep for me to walk in there. If I spent the next 45 minutes chest-deep cast-netting it, like maybe we'd have some luck, but I don't even think that's worth it.

I wish we had a cooler to take him home. We could literally take him home. Then we could have two of them. Which just sucks because he's perfect. It's like my favorite fish to rescue because that's like a future, you know, 100-year-old 7-ft fish.

This is as easy as just taking him back to the main river and putting him in, and then he won't die, which is awesome. They can live out of the water for like, honestly, like realistically, without dying, quite a few hours. Some people say like 17 hours and like they can, but like you know there's a severe brain damage. Yeah. But like you can keep him out of the water for a few hours. But once this place dries up, he would stand no chance.
