Ultra-Fast Random Bits: Magnetic Tunnel Junctions Explained #shortsAdded:
The nice thing about it is that there are two things that are nice about it.
One is that it's very fast. These entire dynamics happen on the order of a few nanoseconds. And so you can fairly easily get a new random bit from a single MTJ every, say, 5 to 10 nanoseconds or so.
And these are very compact devices. You don't need a lot of circuitry in order to read out the state.
And so if you then build small arrays of these magnetic tunnel junctions, you can get to very high throughput random bit generators in a fairly small area.
