Three Deaths, Life in Prison Threat, Then Charges Dropped

[00:00:02]In just these last 30 minutes, charges have been dropped for the woman accused of causing a crash that killed three people on I-4 back in October. Good evening. I'm Greg Warmoth.

[00:00:12]>> I'm Martha Sugalski. Lindsay Isaacs was facing life in prison if convicted on all charges. Channel 9 Volusia County reporter Demi Johnson is live at the Justice Center in Daytona Beach. And Demi, you've been following this story since the beginning.

[00:00:27]Yeah, Martha. And the State Attorney's Office just dropped the charges for Lindsay Isaacs today. This comes just a week after her arraignment was pushed back. And we've been telling you for the last month that Isaacs' attorney has been posting videos on social media saying she's innocent. FHP arrested Isaacs in late April for this crash. You can see her mugshot here. But again, all of the charges against her have been dropped. A week after her arrest, prosecutors with the State Attorney's Office told her attorney they did not have enough evidence to keep her in jail until her trial. So, she was released on a $250,000 bond. The crash killed three people including Flagler County Deputy Administrator George Salinas and his wife. A motorcyclist was also killed.

[00:01:15]For the past month, I've been asking FHP if troopers are looking for another person or vehicle in connection to this crash. All I've been told so far is that if there was an update, one would be provided. We are reaching back out to them now to see if that has changed now that these charges are dropped.
