This forecast exemplifies the media's tendency to brand routine atmospheric shifts as "impact events" to maintain relevance. It is a polished exercise in over-communicating the mundane for an audience conditioned to expect constant updates.

Cold front pushing through South Texas to bring morning storms | KENS 5 Weather Impact ForecastAdded:
a strong spring cold front. As a matter of fact, Colorado getting up to a foot to even in some spots two feet of snow.
We're looking at freezing temperatures in the Texas panhandle tomorrow morning.
But let's first begin with a P city forecast for Thursday. We're heading up I35 to Komal County and the county seat.
Let's take a look at the forecast for New Bronals, our pick city. 74 going to be the cooler afternoon high with only a 20% chance of showers tomorrow. North and northeast winds. That's a 100% chance that they will be breezy between 20 with gusts of 25. And again, much cooler tomorrow. High of only 74. Live look around town. We're still pretty socked in with the cloud cover. Had a pretty good deal of haze today, but air quality was in good shape. Highs this afternoon from the mid 80s to the lower to mid70s. So you'll see where the cold front came in at the right time to keep the Hill Country a little bit cooler. In fact, it's already down to 64 at Bandera as opposed to 86 at Pleasanton. So we will definitely see these temperatures gradually drop through the evening, but they won't plummet. It's not going to be cold, but just noticeably different. And remember, north winds are going to be a part of this as well. We're expecting lower 70s as early as 8:30 tonight. That hasn't been the case. It's been low 70s in the morning hours for our lows lately. All right, so here's the front's position. Look at Amarillo. 57 as opposed to 90 at Brownsville. So here's where the front is located again pushing through. We're not going to see weather along this front. Violent thunderstorms.
Look at all the tornado warnings when you get into Mississippi. They had one in Montgomery, Alabama earlier. For us, it was early this morning. The storms materialized around Sonora Junction, northern Gillespie County. But see those showers run to a cap of warm air or loft closer to San Antonio and that's why we didn't see much. Here's the next rain maker. This area of low pressure will be set up to the west and that's going to send disturbances in our direction. The first of which will be overnight tonight. This is 3 a.m.'s radar from Ualdi down to Eagle Pass. Heavy rain expected. Not expecting severe. And as it pushes east, it looks like most of the heavy rain stays south right now with it kind of cutting off across Bear County. So, I think we will see showers tomorrow morning, but we should get them out and south of us as we get into the heart of rush hour 7 to 8 a.m. Then throughout the day, some scattered showers tomorrow. We're not expecting a big line of thunderstorms. And what additional rains do really materialize look to primarily stay to our south as we go through Thursday. But by Friday night and then again on Saturday, a couple of more waves are coming in from the west. So rain chances are not going to quit now. All right, here's the 14-day tomorrow. Again, 30% chance only 73 the high for us. 79 on Friday. 40% chance of rain mainly Friday night. And then over the weekend for Mother's Day, 20 to 30% chances will stay in the forecast now right on through Sunday night. And then they will quickly return on the 14th, 15th, and 16th. Rain chances look pretty decent.
