[00:00:00]the train derailed and thankfully everyone was safe. But that got me thinking, what is happening to our train systems? In the past 16 days, there were three major incidents. On May 12th, communication system failure and May 18, an immobilized train and on May 28, the train derailed. Our transport minister mentions that disruptions happen weekly.

[00:00:22]So why does this keep happening? In some news they mentioned that our train systems are aging just like our Colana GI line which is over a decade old.

[00:00:30]Imagine your car that you bought 10 years ago suddenly requires maintenance and more fixing and more services. The train has been reaching its end of its lifespan for operating more than decades on very heavy use and some components inside our tracks as well requires a very complex mechanics which are used to shift the train tracks. One faulty part could cause these switches to jam or misalign causing what happened today.
