It arrives on massive tankers, and those tankers need a place to land. But, those routes are crowded, and they don't easily reach the landlocked nations of Central and Eastern Europe.

The infrastructure is already hitting the ground. In 2022, Greece finished an interconnector with Bulgaria. Now, they're eyeing North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Serbia. Greece is essentially building a new nervous system for a part of Europe that has been under Moscow's thumb for decades.
