It arrives on massive tankers, and those tankers need a place to land. If you look at the geography of Europe, the traditional energy entry points are in the north and west, places like the Netherlands, France, and Spain. But, those routes are crowded, and they don't easily reach the landlocked nations of Central and Eastern Europe.

[00:00:51]Instead of gas flowing from Russia in the east, it flows from Greek ports in the south up through Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary all the way to Ukraine. This isn't a pipe dream. The infrastructure is already hitting the ground. In 2022, Greece finished an interconnector with Bulgaria. Now, they're eyeing North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Serbia. Greece is essentially building a new nervous system for a part of Europe that has been under Moscow's thumb for decades.
