Some kids that has been enrolled in a net ball association that is said to be headed by a former sunshine girl, meaning she was on Jamaica's national netball team. We are talk about this female present on your screen identified as Jodian French Fentish.

[00:01:30]Now, it is stated that she collected way over the sum of $5 million and made promises that these kids of the parents will be traveling to participate in net ball tournaments at the Miami Classics in Florida in the United States of America. Now, she stated that the monies have been misplaced. Now, we going to hear from the disgruntled parents as they weigh in on this one.

[00:02:08]Oh, I may I tell you my peeps. The thing rough, but listen. All right. So, tell us what's happening. Let's start from the beginning. What's happening with this lady? The former riggger girls NHT worker Jodian French Kentish. That's her name.

[00:02:38]I was recommended by a parent for my child to attend the academy. Everything was going smooth.

[00:03:01]She said that parents should pay it in two. We pay half of it in February and the next half should pay the sixth March or the sister March.

[00:04:22]We were there saying as in oh no Jod. Anyways, Auntie Mary was the one who she was dialoguing with. So each time she said something to Auntie Mary, Auntie Mary would have referred to us as the parents and the kids. The kids were there excited, wanted to go and play the net ball game.

[00:04:42]Were there we delay until 2. We were there two, no Jod. Three, no Jod. Four, no Jod. It was 6 J came at the airport. So everyone was rejoicing. Yay, we're going away. Now when Jod came, Jod come out of their vehicle, go up to the person that you would have bought the tickets and book the flight. Everybody thought Jodie was going to purchase the ticket because she said she were going to purchase it. She were trying to purchase a ticket online, but it is not going to.

[00:05:28]Anyways we were there till in the night about after 9.

[00:05:33]She were asking if parents interested for their kids to go. She know she can't give a good answer for say money.

[00:05:44]Oh the ticket purchase. Anyways, the next morning I were there with some other parents because she said we must reach there at 3:00. I was there waiting on the flight because she said the flight is 6:00 a.m. in the morning.

[00:05:57]No flight 6:00 a.m. in the morning. Jod didn't have sufficient funds on the car to purchase a ticket for everyone to go to Miami Classic.

[00:06:08]We were there same way when Jody purchased some tickets. she was trying to purchase because if my parents were trying to use their card, it wasn't going through. I had to let because the ad work but my daughter keep calling me so I came back. When I came back I notice she purchased about five or six tickets.

[00:06:28]So anyways I said to her um oh my go she say um auntie I'm trying to use the card and it's not going through. So I said to her, Jody, can I use my cash that I have and you reimburse it back? She said to me, yes.

[00:06:47]She will reimburse back the cash. Up to today, May 7th, there is no concrete um conclusion if we are going to get back our money. Jody call Jodie block.

[00:07:04]Well, is we reach out to Ash have some story to tell you. On Monday, she said was the final day for us to get our payment. When Monday came instead of us getting our money, it's a meeting.

[00:07:16]Anyways, we're there on the meeting and she were there. I know she can't come to a conclusion or she can't come and say parents did use the money and do this.

[00:07:26]She can't give no argument how the money spend nothing at all. But yet still the money used. She said the money misuse.

[00:07:42]Anyway, she said tomorrow is the payment day. We call her, we said, "Sir, no answer, nothing."

[00:07:52]>> All right. So, let me ask you some questions now. How much children was involved? How many children was supposed to go on the trip? And how much money was paid over to her in total?

[00:08:09]>> So you say 29 kids, right?

[00:08:14]>> Yes. 29.

[00:08:16]>> And each parent paid how much in total?

[00:08:22]>> 144,000.

[00:08:27]So 144,000 * 29.

[00:08:33]>> So that's 400. Well, wow. Some good money this man. Almost $5 million.

[00:08:46]>> Yes. Good evening. And some other parents pay more because they said about the jersey and >> Yeah. And and she said about the hotel um when we reach there she said the ticket them the ticket price to pay um 60 more,000 panic and you have that money different from the 4,000.

[00:09:13]So my question is though, why all the parents sit and waited until the very day for her to show that tickets were purchased? Cuz who goes on a trip and buy the ticket the very same day at the airport? That doesn't make sense. Nobody questioned her before that to say, "Hey, where's the tickets that you purchase?

[00:09:37]>> Yeah, cuz normally you should get a ticket itinary. And she said um when we come to the airport we would have got it.

[00:09:45]>> Yes. But I don't know that could have been sent through emails also. So you all would have gotten a meeting Thursday night sir and then she said she was at the airport purchasing the ticket at that time. So they would have a ticket by Friday morning.

[00:10:03]>> But that doesn't make sense.

[00:10:05]>> Friday at the airport there was no ticket bought or anything.

[00:10:08]>> Yeah. But that is a red flag itself. Who goes to the ticketing counter at the airport the very day before? In fact, nobody even buy tickets over the ticketing counter anymore.

[00:10:20]>> Yeah. But there she was deciding about and between Mo and Kingston. So that is some thing to say flight is cheaper in mo. So parents will have to go to Mo with their children. And then at the last minute then she said um we're just going to do it at Kingston.

[00:10:42]>> Yes. But that again doesn't make sense because if everybody that is going on the trip lives in Kingston, why travel to Moay? Because the monies that you're trying to save, let's just say you're trying to save $100.

[00:10:55]If you're going to transport your child to Montego Bay, it's going to cost you roughly about that if you're driving your own vehicle to to fill up with gas and toll and everything. So it doesn't make sense. That again is another red flag.

[00:11:11]>> So people have to really start because we just I think is because parents question because we just need opportunity for some people itinerary go that we just need.

[00:11:29]Whilst I do understand that, whilst I do understand that we're all adults and we can't take nothing at all for granted, we have to really think before we just rush and act.

[00:11:40]Especially when you spend this much money, you can't just spend the money so get no information about where your money go.

[00:12:02]>> So 15 actually went >> Yeah. 15 actually went but they did not enter the competition. They just went and because all right some of the kids got a one entry. Some of them got a one entry and you know get it travel the next time embassy can get five or 10 years.

[00:12:33]So the so the children who went they did not participate in nothing. They just went because they had a ticket to go.

[00:12:45]>> So, so that simply means that her business is kind of legitimate.

[00:12:56]>> Okay, I get that. So, that simply means that her business is somewhat legitimate then. But as she said, she misused the funds.

[00:13:23]>> She can't answer. I have a screen record also in that meeting where um sister Mary was asking her the question, can you please explain to the parents what did you use the funds to do? She paused. She paused. She paused and she skip over the question. Nothing was answered.

[00:14:31]>> Well, when I went I made my report and the police said to me that um if the day that she gave me, if that day come and I don't get back my money, I should come back there. Then I went there and when I went there they were trying to contact her even today and she'll lock off her phone because I went back to the station today and she lock off her phone. She's not taking any call.

[00:15:01]>> That's literally down the street. So a couple of the parents need to go by New Kingston police and have them transport you all down there if that's where she work.

[00:15:12]>> Okay. So she's on vacation leave.

[00:15:13]>> Yes, she >> because I said her parents went down there um Friday and she felt threatened as though she said and she didn't report to work the following Monday.

[00:15:28]>> She felt talking about her money.

[00:15:33]>> It's crazy. She's feeling threatened and she's the one that owes you money >> because we went down there and asking her for our money cuz she never turn up to work on the Monday cuz we tell her if we don't come if we don't get the money by Monday we going back down there cuz she told us over the weekend to the latest Monday right Monday come and gone and no money and we tell her that we don't get only Monday we going come back down there so she did not show up to work on Monday.

[00:16:09]>> Well, we have to just continue follow it up because the police need get her and charge her for fraudulent conversion cuz you have to give account for that money. That's a whole lot of money to just give away just like that in today's world.

[00:16:32]The first time >> and you all made a report to NHD personnels there, the administration of NHD.

[00:16:43]>> And what did the company say?

[00:16:48]We need to put out because we can't make our next set of parents have to make um set example say she do it wrong. People work hard for them money. Some persons have to take out loans just to ensure say them child going and this is the ending result. This is not right. We have to put it out there for her to know say what she's doing. It is not right >> because we lose 144,000. We still have to go in our pocket again travel.

[00:17:21]>> To buy tickets to buy another set of ticket again >> for them to travel.

[00:17:28]>> And what age group are these children?

[00:17:30]>> Likewise, she tell some of the parents them say she have $1 million where she's going to reimburse and some of the parents ask her like how you have the $1 million just give some of her. She said no. She waiting on a next million dollar to give out everybody one time. So apparently there's no no money none at all. If there was $1 million then she could have paid some of the money but because she don't have any money in her account. That is the reason why she doing this.

[00:18:04]She went to the airport with 500,000 husband with the credit card. Remember remember all of them say >> who is her husband. And the next thing Benjamin and Kentish. Yeah. They work together cuz every time we turn up a training, he's there. And her mother, the mother collect the money. She's always on the court. The mother collect the money and Benn is always out there with her. to the three of them in night.

[00:18:47]We don't want to collect money and we pay a monthly fee to we don't just send our kids to the academy. We pay a monthly fee 35 every month.

[00:18:58]>> And the next thing and the next thing she also said that she should reimburse $3,000 US for the accommodation overseas. So we still don't know where that $3,000 is. We don't know which part that day.

[00:19:21]>> A whole heap of different different money here there and everywhere.

[00:19:25]>> Yes. And different story.

[00:19:29]I spend money and buy t-shirt. I spend money and buy this. I spend money and buy that.

[00:19:45]>> All right. Definitely I will most definitely post this and I'm pretty sure that the ears of whosoever to hear it will definitely hear it. So when you all went to NHT, >> when you all went to NHT and made a report there, what did the authorities at the NHT say?

[00:20:06]>> No, we didn't we didn't speak to management, you know, we never talk to management.

[00:20:14]She run out when she saw us, she run out and like say we don't have to be so loud. So we went and we talked to the most decent way and she said to over the weekend I'm going to pay some money. So that's why we never create excitement down there.

[00:20:31]>> Well, you all need to go back to NHD.

[00:20:35]>> Don't create no excitement, but go back to NHD. Bring the receipts that you all got from the police station to show that you made a report to the police station and speak with the administration of NHD about it.

[00:20:50]>> Okay. the fact that she's employed there also she owe them also. So that's something about her and even did try to get some help for see if she can borrow money from them and pee out back and say them not helping her because she them help her last year with the academy. Well, make the report again.

[00:21:25]Make sure do the right thing.

[00:21:29]>> And then after I want to make the report at NHT, you know, go back at the police station and see if can get the police to go find her.

[00:21:40]>> So, that's the proper procedure to go about it. So after the interview, I made several inquiries to get a better understanding of what has happened. Now it is stated that Jodi has been running this organization for quite some time and successful trips had came from her netball association organization thing.

[00:22:06]Last year it went smooth. But it is now stated that she is a avid gambler. She have a gambling problem which may or may not have led to the misuse of the funds.

[00:22:25]Now, I've also learned that some of the parents who have been wronged by Jodian French Kentish has made threats to her life and also threats to damage her vehicle. Now I am advising all the parents who have been wronged and have not yet been paid in full by Jodian to seize and desist from the threats of harming the woman or damaging her personal property, her vehicle.

[00:23:02]You cannot have your right in your hand and throw it away because you may be wronged by her and finding yourself behind bars. So go about it the lawful way, the right way and allow the law of the land to deal with the matter properly. So again, seize and desist from making threats to harm her and her personal property. Go about it the right way. All right? And if you do just that, justice will prevail and you will most definitely be refunded your monies. I've also heard that she have made several promises to repay with several deadlines which have been passed and now she's stating that she will repay you all sometime in the latter part of June.

[00:24:08]Now, as I stated, make your reports to the police, make your reports to the NHT, and they will most definitely point you in the right direction and get this matter dealt with properly.
