This weather forecast predicts a 60-80% chance of rain and storms for the weekend, with storms moving from West Georgia to metro Atlanta between 6-9 PM, then shifting to East Georgia and South Carolina, followed by showers and storms developing Saturday morning with potential downpours before lunch; the forecast explains that tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico is being funneled northward ahead of a weak low pressure area over Memphis, creating conditions for storm activity, with expected rainfall of 2-4 inches over the next 5 days to help address the regional rain deficit.

First Alert Forecast: Rain and storms likely later this afternoon and eveningAjouté :
Your First-Alert [music] Weather Super 7-Day Forecast.
At least a 60% chance of rain and storms will take us through the weekend, but Saturday tomorrow, an 80% chance of showers and storms. Here's First-Alert radar, it's still quiet in North Georgia. We pointed the radar back in Alabama, big storm south and west of Birmingham, and all this is going to slowly move up to the north and east. We have a wide-open gulf, lots of tropical moisture being funneled northward ahead of a weak area of low pressure over Memphis, and that's going to allow for a little bit more in the way of storm action later today, as well as at times for Saturday. Here's the latest First-Alert Futurecast by 5:00 p.m., storms rolling into West Georgia, and then we're looking at a pretty widespread coverage of rain and storms between about 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. Mostly across metro Atlanta, and then slowly shifting into East Georgia, and eventually the upstate of South Carolina. Overnight, a lot of us dry, and then for Saturday, we're looking at showers and storms developing potentially earlier tomorrow. Before lunch, we could see downpours in progress, and while this does show dry weather at 7:00 tomorrow, it's very possible that we could see this line in Alabama move a little bit faster. So, just be prepared for rain at any point.
Heading out to the tourist park today and tomorrow for the baseball series, and again, spending long amounts of time outside this weekend, probably not the best idea just because it's going to be raining occasionally and storming occasionally, as well. Rain amounts over the next 5 days between 2 and 4 inches, hopefully that spread it out, and we can help out our rain deficit quite a bit.
Over the next 7 days, again, First-Alert Weather Days continuing through Tuesday, a slight decrease in storm coverage by next Wednesday and Thursday, but even still, we're looking at a 40% through the middle of next week.
