Game renderers are critical components that determine how efficiently a game utilizes hardware resources to achieve higher frame rates (FPS) and better visual quality; different renderers like Light GLES, Krypton Wrapper, and Vulkan Zinc use different approaches to convert graphics APIs (such as OpenGL to OpenGL ES) and can significantly impact both performance and graphical compatibility across different game versions.

I Developed A New Renderer For Java Minecraft On Android (Sort Of) LiteGLESAdded:
What is going on Java Minecraft players that play with Joy Bridge Launcher?
Today, I'm going to share with you a new render that I ended up developing with the help of Chat GPT.
Oh, I don't care. Called Light GLES Renderer. I'm going to explain to you what you can use it for and what versions it actually works for right now and how I developed it. But, first, if you'd like to play Java Minecraft on your Android phone, then be sure to hit that subscribe button because I am not only give out full Java Minecraft game codes on this channel, I also share multiple guides, tips, and videos surrounding Java Minecraft to play on your mobile device. So, if you'd like to help me become the next Mr. Beast and reach 500 million subscribers, then be sure to hit that subscribe button right now so you can enjoy playing Java Minecraft on the go. So, last weekend, I ended up thinking, "I'm going to try to make a renderer." Well, what I ended up doing what anybody would do, I Googled things, I checked out some repositories, and then I was like, "Hey, Codex and Chat GPT and Claude, how about you do this for me?" So, they did. Basically, the source code's going to be available after this video is released and you can see the source code for yourself, not hiding anything. Everything was written from scratch. There was no reused code or anything from any repositories, any libraries, or anything of the sort.
I put in, just for fun, while I was having my morning tea and before breakfast, was like, "I'm going to try my hand at making a renderer." Now, this really does put in perspective for those that think that "Oh, Cheese Bread Launcher does more FPS. Mojo Launcher does more FPS. Elephant Launcher has more FPS. Old Craft Launcher has more FPS." Because the renderer itself is actually what is utilizing the game to get more FPS. I'm going to prove that to you today. So, this light GLES render that we're going to be taking a right now, I'm going to be using this setting right here. You can mess around with stuff if you want to see if you can get things working. I am still trying to work on it to make it work for at least all the way up until like 1.17 because I feel like the older versions of the game really don't have the full render compatibility like the newer versions of the game. So, having an old-school render would probably be a beneficial thing for Java Minecraft for those that like to play old-school Minecraft because what I did is I messed around with it for hours and hours to make it so that it would render what you see right now. This is just beta 1.7.3 and yes, you can see the graphical glitches as you can see right there.
There's some water that wants to render in a few seconds later, but notice the hand. Beta 1.7.3 when you use other renders unless you use zinc, will not render in properly like this does. Now, yes, the FPS is kind of crap and I'm going to tell you that right now and yes, you'll notice graphical glitches like this, but it took me forever to just get the menu to actually load properly. It took me forever to get the menu to actually show like the worlds properly. There were so many different graphical glitches. I shared some pictures on my Discord if you want to go see those what I was experiencing and also actually rendering some of the actual graphics of some of the entities and stuff like that and it was just interesting to see how OpenGL is converted to OpenGLES and so on and so forth. I'm going to change the render to Krypton Wrapper for a second. We're going to click on play and we're going to check out what kind of graphics we're dealing with when we use the Krypton Wrapper render. As you can see on the bottom right-hand side, the blocks are a little bit, you know, they have different gradients to it, different textures and the FPS, yes, the FPS of Krypton Wrapper render is really really good. Now, there's a problem with this.
Obviously, people aren't going to enjoy the actual graphics of this. And unfortunately, to fix this with most devices, we have to use Vulcan zinc.
Now, I don't know if there's something even in the translation layer of the actual launcher that I can mess around with. I don't think so. That could maybe fix this. I have tested Krypton wrapper render on other launchers and it still does the same thing. So, maybe I'm missing something on the launcher side of things still that I have not looked at, like the Minecraft GL surface view or something that's not translating this properly. But if I use Vulcan zinc as the actual render, so if I use the zinc render right here and jump into the game, even Vulcan zinc renders a little bit better and has more performance to it. If it wants to load. Of course, it's not going to load because I probably jumped right into that way too fast. So, let's try that again. Let's go Vulcan zinc and let's see if it wants to render. And no, Vulcan zinc does not want to render for whatever freaking reason. So, we're going to actually close that and I'm going to go into my render settings and I'm going to change this to Vulcan zinc as the default. I'm going to try a purple turn of driver and see if that actually fixes the issue.
Let's try again. So, now, I don't know why Vulcan zinc's not wanting to work for me right now, even though maybe it's just because of the shaders or something. I'm not too sure. But let's let's try Vulcan zinc with 1.0. I'm going to show you what happens when we use the renderer with 1.0 as well after.
So, there we go. Okay, Vulcan zinc's working for 1.0, but it still has some flickering and tearing and all that kind of stuff. 37 FPS. Yes, it's going to be a lot better than what my light GLES render is going to do, but I'm going to show you that in a few seconds because you're going to kind of have a little bit of a laugh as to what you're going to see in a second. And just kind of a proof of concept of showing that yes, the renderer really does matter when it comes to playing Java Minecraft on Android. And you're going to see this right now. So, I'm going to change this per instance setting. I don't know if that other version is just bugging out because I was messing around with it using my my renderer. But let's go play with my renderer for a second as a per game setting. There's the menu. The menu was bugging out for me so many times that I had to like keep telling chat GPT no, this is what's happening. Sending the logs. I sent the logs into chat GPT.
And yeah, as you can see here, there is [laughter] a lot of graphical glitches, okay? And that's render development for you for those that want to try their hand at this. Like I know nothing about anything like this, honestly. I'll tell you the truth. Like yeah, I used chat GPT completely for this. Like I know Java development, but I have never messed around with anything like this before.
And I did code all of this inside of Android Studio mostly. And basically, there is just other settings and stuff like that that I'm still trying to understand myself on how this all works, how the translation layers actually fix things and all that kind of stuff. Like I'm going to try out 1.8.9. I'm going to install that version and show you what that looks like as well. But it's actually a pretty interesting adventure because yes, like I said multiple times on this channel, not a single launcher is going to give you more FPS unless they have figured out some native way Whoops, I pressed the wrong thing here. Some native way to, you know, make OpenGL convert to OpenGL ES properly other than using a renderer. But the big thing is Here you go. It won't even load 1.8.9. Um is that there is a lot more going on here than um you actually understand. So, I think it's still hilarious when people say, "Oh, this this giving me more FPS."
Well, that's because you didn't actually properly test things. You didn't use the same render, you didn't use the same settings, you didn't use the same options.txt file. You probably didn't use the same, you know, uh world and all that kind of stuff either. I'm just going to tell you that right now. Like, I've been messing around with the render thing. I didn't touch it again until like the other day when I was trying some things out because I was like, "Oh, this still is not working properly." Um and it's just interesting to share this information. And if you want to go try this renderer out, maybe you know some things that I don't know. Maybe you can help me fix this. Maybe we can come up with some ultimate like old-school renderer or something that's working for old-school versions of the game. Like, this is getting to 30 FPS. It's about stable, but you can still see some graphical issues. I know a lot of people like to play beta and stuff like that too still. So, maybe we can get the ultimate renderer working for beta Minecraft. Maybe some other people know some more things than I do about this.
And maybe we can get ourselves a fully compatible Droid Ridge only renderer.
Oh, there's a big fun bug. Anyways, have a nice day, guys. Hope you enjoyed that.
This is Bob's Donuts, and this is the only way out here.
