Everyone Was Wrong About Christopher Nolan. - Fireside Discussion
Added:To the internet camp that trashed this movie before they even saw it, [laughter] I have one thing to say to you.
Know your place.
And how does it feel to be humbled on a colossal scale? [laughter] [music] [music] Grant, I have a nickname on [music] this podcast.
>> Yo, yes you do. Yes, you do. Drew, what is that nickname?
>> The nickname is Nolan Boy.
>> Nolan boy. How do you feel after seeing Nolan's opus? I don't I am not saying I'm not saying >> I don't even hate that though.
>> I'm not saying that. [music] >> I feel justified.
>> Yeah, >> because I have never once have I wavered on this movie.
>> We are not beating the film bro allegations, bro. [laughter] It's bad. It's just getting worse. I'm look guys I'm just saying I said this was going to be good from day one and everyone's like uh we don't know we don't know how we feel about X Y and Z and I'm like guys >> the Odyssey Odyssey is going to be phenomenal and nobody listened to me and now the Odyssey is phenomenal nobody listened to us not me >> we called it >> we called it >> when we saw Avatar 3 >> three >> in IMAX which was a horrible watching experience mostly cuz we started that movie at like 11:30 >> yeah it was awful but the best part of that experience was the 7minute Odyssey prologue we Yep.
>> Which >> which was actually in the middle of the movie, but that's okay.
>> It's not like a spoiler. It's like when they like sack Troy or like at least sneak into Troy. That 7 minutes was incredible. And I was like, this is the movie I'm circling on my calendar. I'm so stoked for this. And then everybody was like, but I don't know about the Odyssey. And we'll dig into that. Like we will talk about that here.
>> But I was like, man, I remember that seveninute prologue. It was pretty freaking good.
>> Freaking incredible.
>> And then I watched the whole almost three-hour movie. pretty freaking good.
>> Every single person, every from freaking Nolan to the PA on set delivered on a exponential level compared to any of their peers.
>> Absolute cinema. This is why we're here.
>> I have another statement that a lot of people are going to hate and I don't even care at this point.
>> Okay, just say it.
>> No one is the best working director.
Period. Point blank. This movie cementss that. I can hear arguments for others, but like he's just at the top of his craft right now. And I felt that way after Oenheimer. I did like I like Oenheimer a whole lot.
>> I know you don't like it as much, but like I don't >> I was like Nolan is killing it right now. He needs to keep doing what he's doing. And then he 3 years later, he kept killing it and kept doing what he was doing. So >> I mean on a on a technical level, >> this movie is >> this movie is literally groundbreaking.
And we'll get into that in a second. But >> yeah, >> I mean this movie >> is innovative in the in the right ways.
I would say >> it's insane. for the next twoish minutes. We're not going to spoil it and then we'll get into our opinion on basically everything about this movie.
>> Yeah. So, if you haven't seen the Odyssey, like watch the next two minutes and then we'll say here are spoilers. Go do your own thing. Welcome back to Soul My Line, a Fireside Film Podcast. We're back. I'm Grant >> and I'm Drew.
>> Um, the Odyssey Drew, your your brief non-spoiler thoughts. This is going to be a bit of a glaze fest, but there are contentious points with the Odyssey, by the way, that we will talk about in this episode. We're not just going to glaze it. And I do have not necessarily a criticism, but one thing that I'm like I don't know if I liked this and we are off our first viewing so we'll get into >> Yeah, this is there might be some recency bias here. I literally got out of the theater like an hour ago.
>> Yeah, I'm I saw it earlier today as well. Drew, your non-spoiler thoughts go.
>> I think it's phenomenal. I think >> I mean I have watched probably 30 interviews at this point and I'm aware that like not everyone has so I'm just kind of going to be regurgitating some facts. Shot entirely on IMAX >> with new IMAX cameras deal there.
>> So I saw it in IMAX. Did you?
>> Yes.
>> Yeah. Absolutely incredible.
>> Yes, I did.
>> I figured you did, but >> Yes.
>> Absolutely incredible.
>> I also found out that we're close to two of the IMAX like projection theaters.
>> I know. I kind of want to drive like an hour and a half to see in 70 mil.
>> We might do that.
>> If we do it, we'll document it. But >> yeah, we >> That's a That's a good idea, isn't it?
>> That's a great idea.
>> Storm line road trip. Okay. Sorry.
>> We're doing it.
>> Squirrels. [laughter] Okay. So, yeah, shot in Thailand IMX.
This is the first movie in history to ever do that.
>> Yes.
>> And I mean like the amount of practical effects here and the amount of just like raw film making almost gorilla style that this movie achieves with massive IMAX cameras that have brand new never used technology equipped to them. I mean, there's these freaking giant boxes that they're lugging around on these ships. Yep. I mean the the level of craft this movie achieves on the ocean.
>> They are on the ocean. The level of craft this movie achieves is unbelievable. And I don't know if I mean there are other movies who have giant levels of craft but this this is up there with us.
>> Yeah. The the scale and production value of this movie is incredible.
>> And like that alone if the story was buns that is worth the price of admission. It is. And news flash story not buns.
>> Yes.
>> Uh is it Nolan's best story? No, >> I don't think it is. We'll get into that. But more spoilerfree thoughts before I I'll say some too, but >> you go. You go. You go.
>> Okay. This is I think there's a lot around this movie, but like was this is this worth the hype? Right.
>> Does it meet the hype?
>> I So I've been to a lot of movies over the past, you know, let's say 15 years.
>> Sure.
>> Only a handful have people clapped or cheered.
>> Yep.
>> Um I'll list off a few of those. Uh, I think Endgame.
>> Yep.
>> Spider-Man, No Way Home. Those are the two I'm going to vault up there for right now.
>> I think I don't know if there's a lot of others that people have.
>> And not like at the end of the movie, oh, the movie was good. Like in the movie, Ovation, those two movies, uh, Endgame, No Way Home, had decades of film making and characters before them, right? And so, you're kind of like, okay, this is a huge moment and I've been with this character for so long and the resolution was good. the uh TBD on that. But like there were reasons to clap in the Odyssey. By the way, a lot of people in the theater know virtually nothing about the >> True.
>> There are moments so good after just a 3-hour span that people are cheering.
>> Yeah, >> I'm in the theater. People are cheering.
That's just it's it's so rare. And people say, "Oh, well, Ingame did it.
Endgame did it after 20 movies before.
>> Yeah.
>> Odyssey did it in three hours. That's crazy.
>> Yeah.
>> I'm like I I can get into a lot. I am a huge fan of this movie. Is it movie of the year? I don't know. Like is it the best movie I've seen in theaters? I don't know. But like it's not not those things. Like it's >> it is in that discussion.
>> Um it's you it's a mustsee in IMAX. It's probably going to sell out IMAX theaters or like at least up until the front row for three or four weeks, >> which is crazy.
>> This is an insane gamble from Warner Brothers or is it Warner Brothers?
>> Universal.
>> Universal now, sorry. Um, it's insane gamble from them and it's going to pay off. I mean, there's just so much in this movie that in some ways maybe shouldn't work and it does. Like, there's just it's so much great. If you're into movies or you're not into movies, just go see it. make a decision for yourself on it. We'll talk about all the stuff, all the conversation around this movie going into it, but that's where I am at as a personal film [clears throat] lover and a Nolan enthusiast.
>> I think what's also crazy is that because of this job that we get to do so graciously because of y'all.
>> Yes.
>> Um, we see a lot of movies.
>> We do.
>> We have been in theaters by ourselves completely.
>> Did you go see Death of Robin Hood? If you did, great. Did you go see it? um sentimental value.
>> We've been in theaters recently completely empty.
>> Yep.
>> And to see like IMAX theaters, which are way bigger than normal, completely full is like a mind-blowing thing. That's a lot of people. And to have that go back to back to back to back on multiple showings.
>> Yeah. Like like I we went to different showings, same theater, but like both full.
>> Both full.
>> Yep.
>> It's insane.
>> Yeah. It's uh and like it's an existing IP. I've actually read the Odyssey. I think we both have, right?
>> Yeah, we did.
>> But like most people have not read the Odyssey. Most people don't know a lot about like Well, maybe Percy Jackson.
Some people do know a lot about >> my Percy Jackson knowledge.
>> It did help. It is helpful.
>> I was like, I know who Calypso is.
>> It's like still got it. Molir to the hand. Like I I remember who Poseidon is.
Um, but like for this not to be an existing IP and for it to pack out an IMAX theater is great. We're going long on the non-spoilers, but this is a great movie. You should go watch it.
>> Absolutely phenomenal. It lives up to the hype.
>> Should we do our like our rating?
>> Yeah, I think we should.
>> Okay, we are both in the camp that this is a watch on TubeBu if you can.
>> Yeah, it's true.
>> No. Uh, go buy the 4K steel book when it comes out. Buy on buy on Blu-ray. It's kind of where we're at.
>> Maybe the easiest we've ever done. Yeah.
If you have a gripe, I mean, this is also an argument for like theater experience is like so fair.
>> Yeah.
>> But also this like is a really awesome movie.
>> Yeah.
>> So, um I don't know. Anything else you want to add before we get into spoilers?
>> I say we dive. If you haven't seen the Odyssey, we're about to spoil the crap out of it. It >> It's a 3,000-y old book, so like >> true. I mean, like this the story is you know it.
>> You should know it.
>> And if you don't know it, a lot of other stories are this.
>> Do this. If you say no brother, where art thou? you're like, "Oh, wait. This is the same thing.
>> The same thing."
>> Um, but yeah, we're going to spoil the movie and specifics, which I would say there are spoilers for this movie, >> which let's open with this really briefly.
>> Nolan in all of his Nolanness makes a puzzle, >> right, >> out of this movie.
>> He does, which is awesome.
>> Which is awesome.
>> And like, it's not the hardest puzzle.
It's not the prestige. It's not Inception. It's not Tenant. It's for sure not tenant, but like Odysius is trying to figure out his own story and there's time skippage and all this stuff. It's >> What do you think of that, Drew?
>> I loved it and here's why.
>> Okay.
>> I loved that. I mean, there's a lot of themes in this movie. One of them, I would say, is storytelling, like as an art form.
>> Yes. Um, there's obviously the barge and like the way Nolan uses his nonlinear storytelling which he loves so dearly.
>> He adors it >> is through storytelling and I thought that was super interesting.
>> Yes. It's like >> so like when people tell stories that's when we go back >> and it works. It doesn't feel like a plot device.
>> No, I think it works very well. And this is one of the easier Nolan movies to pick up on and be like because it's so fluid and you're like, "Oh, wait. Anne Hathaway is talking about this event."
Okay, I know this happens in the past. I can track because I'm human and people have told me stories before.
>> Yep. Yep. I completely agree. I mean, it's not the craziest puzzle, but I think it makes the story of Odysius going back home a ton more interesting because we could just pick up with, >> oh, Odysius is leaving for the church of war and we go linearly and it just wouldn't work as well.
>> Agreed.
>> I mean, it still be great if this movie was made the same way but more linear, but I think it's in the edit it's better. So >> yeah, this is definitely like an edit thing, >> which basically everybody working on this movie has won an Oscar at this point. That's true.
>> So everybody's pretty goated here. Um at least like on the technical end. Not all the actors, but a lot of them have too.
So >> um I don't know. Your your turn to talk about something with the movie.
>> Okay. Um let's just get into the technical aspect.
>> Yeah, let's do it. Cyclops, Cersei's Island, um the ocean sequences, >> what else?
>> I mean, the Okay, >> everything.
>> Let's Let's get into those three first.
>> Okay, let's start with Cyclops >> puppet.
But yeah, I mean, there's surely some CGI in there somewhere.
>> I don't know. I listen, whatever they did, it freaking worked.
>> I don't I I say this having maybe heard it on you. I don't know. So, don't quote me this. I don't think there's any CGI in this movie.
>> That's okay. That is not true.
>> I don't know.
>> I don't Well, maybe you're You know what? I will have to buy the 4K Blu-ray.
>> I don't know.
>> And watch all the behind the scenes. I'm sure they do. They have to get rid of some wires and stuff like paint some stuff out, but like >> No, the everything you feel like you could reach out and touch.
>> Yeah. And that works so well for this movie. For something that feels so mythological and like fantastical at times, for it to all look completely real, you're like, "Oh man, this is awesome."
>> Yeah, it's awesome.
>> So, I think all the effects here are phenomenal. I think when Cersei is making Odicious men into pigs was freaking >> Oh my gosh, it was gross.
>> But it was like so >> interesting. And like I mean even the way they were eating the food and I I think I could tell but they were like >> eating the food but they were doing it in reverse. So like >> it made it look like they were actually pulling out the food in real life but it was like going into them. It was super interesting >> and like reaching into people's throats and like um and then the lygonians [snorts] crazy >> crazy. I know that most of that was like force perspective and stuff >> when the trees were moving.
>> Oh my god. So sick. It's like so visually mindboggling, but it works so well. Like >> it's so sick. I mean, >> when I It's like two of the men get trapped in like a circle of trees.
>> Yeah.
>> And I was like in my brain cuz I'm like cynical and this was a stupid moment on my part. I was like, "That's stupid. Why would they like walk into >> But then then all the like part of the movie that's part of it."
>> Oh yeah. It's awesome.
>> So good.
>> It it's so good. Um, yeah, I would say that I mean there's so many awesome effects, but like really just like the landscapes.
>> Yeah. I mean, the photography is out of this world.
>> The ocean, the the the forest, like every single thing. Even though like Yeah, you could go outside and look at some of this stuff if you live on a coast or in a mountainous region. I mean, one, we don't live in the Mediterranean if you can't tell from our accents, but like [laughter] like it looks so sick on film and like every little detail, especially in IMAX, like it's so incredible.
>> It's so incredible.
Um, one more moment that had my jaw on the absolute floor. And this might have been in the prologue. I don't know.
But the battle of Troy, >> like the first sacking or the second sacking, like the when they break in or when they sack at the end. Okay. Yeah.
>> Was a so sick. I mean, Ludwig Goren, his score, >> the tension >> kills it. Oh my gosh. But when they open the gate and Agamemnon's silhouette is just there, >> I was just like, "That is the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life."
>> The coolest Benny Safi has ever looked >> 100% dude.
>> Um, probably in his whole life.
[laughter] >> Oh, like Agamemnon. Everyone was trashing on his armor like it is so sick.
>> Yeah.
>> So sick.
>> He horror formed. The whole movie was crazy.
>> Oh my gosh. Uh, but like there's an element to this movie that I think it feels so raw. Like >> they fight against the forces in real life and then that's part of the movie of them fighting against the gods and like it just works so well for the movie.
>> And I mean >> to praise the performance for a second.
It's like I mean these guys are like legitimately getting smacked by water and Matt Damon is like >> getting destroyed this entire movie.
Yeah.
>> And his performance is absolutely phenomenal. And by the way, >> yeah, >> he's jacked for however long he is.
>> That's impressive.
>> Matt, I know you're watching our podcast right now. Did you pump steroids? Just a question. [laughter] I'm genuinely curious. Like, did you get that lean on your own or did you blast steroids? I'm not sure.
>> Um, no. His performance, like, is it Oscar winning? Probably not.
>> I don't think it is.
>> I think he's great. Yeah.
>> Um, did Nolan probably say like, "Hey, look really intense off into the horizon." And he did that. Yes, that's probably what happened about and it works. Like it was great. Um I think the physicality is where the performance really shines agree more so than like >> oh he showed a lot of emotion but then you see maybe Odicius doesn't show that emotion. You know who does? Penelopey >> and Hathaway.
>> You know who kills it on screen?
>> Oh my gosh.
>> You know who actually kills it on screen in her like brief time on screen? Zenaia as Athena does. Like >> if you're looking for emotion in performances, they're there. They are there.
>> I mean, Anne Hathaway, look, I'm I'm not gonna say anything crazy. Well, I might.
[laughter] >> Indie Navar is now getting pushed for best actress, >> which I think we got to talk about, >> which is like fine.
>> Wrong category, but whatever. I think it's good. I >> hypothetically, if she was best supporting actress, and I know screen time is like crazy different, but Anne Hathaway, her performance here is killer >> is so good.
>> Is a second Oscar in her future. Who knows?
>> So good. Um, >> I mean, yeah, >> the tension between her and Tom Holland >> this whole movie is like >> it's good.
>> It's so good.
>> It's really good.
>> So good.
>> Do you want to dive into casting? I have like a few things I want to say.
>> A lot of people have talked about two different things with this casting.
>> I think the first thing I think when we all saw the Odyssey be announced and the whole cast in general, you're like, "Wow, this cast is stacked and there's a lot of really famous people, >> right?
>> Does it work?" I'm going to say yes. And here's why. This is the Odyssey. And there are a ton of characters.
>> So to a certain extent, it kind of is a benefit to this movie that you can say Robert Patson's character. If you don't keep up with all the names, you know what Robert Patson looks like. You know what Tom Hong looks like.
>> So it helps with keeping track of the characters honestly to me, which I knew the story and knew the characters, so that wasn't a problem, but I think it just helps the movie a little bit.
>> Yeah.
>> Thoughts on that?
>> No, I agree. And I mean the controversy I mean the amount of controversy this movie's had is is like kind of insane but also knowing the internet it's like whatever.
>> It's kind of part for the course.
>> Kind of part for the course. Um one it's weird that everyone was judging this movie without ever seeing it.
>> Yeah.
>> That's stupid.
>> That's the thing that retroactive judging. I can like dialogue whatever.
>> Everybody who seen the movie said it was really good. B. Is the cast stacked?
Should Nolan one have cast authentic Greek people? Like maybe, but also this is an interpretation. This is artistic.
This is this is Hollywood. This is Hollywood. And I don't know. Like I I it's not that deep. Yeah. I think this movie is very stylized. Um if we're going like we want to be as realistic as possible, there would be no music in this movie. Like, let's be honest, >> maybe speaking Greek.
>> Um, I think, look, I mean, we're just going to call a spade a spade. There's like this segment of the internet that says this movie is bad because of certain casting choices made. Um, there's kind of a facade that people can hide behind, which is like it's not historically accurate.
And that is all well and good. I think if you are really into Greek history or you are a Greek scholar, you have all the right to hate on this movie for historical accuracy.
>> And I also think that's a valid criticism.
>> Yeah, that's that's fair. Like I can get behind that.
>> But I think a lot of people like mask anger and just like disdain toward Hollywood with like, oh, it's not historically accurate. When in reality, you don't give a crap about historical accuracy and you're just trying to hate.
There's two actors in this movie and like I'm not going to name names just like if you're on the internet you know I think people are singling these two people out and saying like like either this is the movie is saying XYZ about politics or whatever or like worldview.
I don't think the movie is making a political statement at all.
>> I agree.
>> Like >> casting is one thing. Casting is important by the way. Like >> we've seen, for example, The Last of Us, um, which I like the show, at least the first season. I really like the games.
There's controversy around that with Bella Ramsey as Ellie and how does that honor the character that people love from the games and stuff like that, which the casting is important. Casting matters. I think for this movie, the people that people get hung up on are not in this movie for very long.
>> That is true. And so if you're like, "Oh, that's going to ruin the movie for me." I really don't think it will. If if you're hung up on that, like if if that's a trepidation, I don't think that that's going to ruin the movie for you.
Don't hide behind like, oh, it's not historically accurate because if it's if you're really hung up on that, Matt Damon probably shouldn't play Odysius.
Like, that's probably not what Odicius would look like.
>> No, I I Yeah, again, if we're going for historical accuracy, everybody should be Greek. Everybody should be speaking Greek.
>> The armor wouldn't look >> armor wouldn't look that way. Yeah. But this is an artistic interpretation. And I think like storytelling as a whole, it kind of depends on what you're going for. And I would say that most directors are going for how do I take these themes that I have found value in a story that I have written or that I have found and artistically express them in the best way humanly possible.
>> And like it's a it's a choice. If you don't agree with the choice, that's fine. Like there will be people in our comment section right now saying, "Hey, we don't agree with that choice."
>> That is a okay. Like you can have your own personal opinion. I would encourage you to have seen the movie first.
>> A lot of people are commenting without having seen the movie. And I'm like I don't really think I think you're missing the point if that's what you're getting hung up on. And like if you have a personal opinion, that's totally okay.
Just like don't say a movie is bad without having seen it.
>> Yeah.
>> One other comment I have, this is like a gear shift a little bit, >> okay? But it's very interesting to note the uproar on this movie, The Odyssey.
And I didn't really hear a lot of the feedback that we get on the Odyssey and casting and, you know, quote unquote political agenda or whatever. I didn't hear that when Moonlight won best picture over La La Land.
And you know why is cuz no one really saw Moonlight as compared to who sees this movie.
>> That's true.
>> And so like I'm not really saying anything with that. It's just something to note like this isn't a new conversation. It's just weird that it's so focused on the Odyssey. We're not really making a statement on that.
>> I mean, I think and again I this is all hypothetical at this point, but like I think a lot of people want Nolan to fail because whether in the in the super uber cinema space is he the goat? I don't know. I like his movies. I think he's great.
He's probably my favorite working director. I think he might be the best.
My previous statement early in the video was definitely a little bit of hyperbole, but in the the general pop culture space, he is the goat director. So, in the general pop culture space, everybody wants Goliath to fall.
>> Yeah. Just for the sake of watching Goliath Fall. And I'm like, let's like Yeah.
>> I don't know. Why try to ruin something that could be really fun? Like the Aussie could be movie of the year. Who knows how it's going to shape up, but like it could be like why would you not watch the movie and say it's going to be bad because I disagree with the casting choice. Like if you disagree, you don't have to go see the movie, but like the fact that people are spending energy to comment on it like that just is a lot for not a lot of return.
>> Yeah, I agree.
>> So the Odyssey didn't fail. It's incredible.
Hopefully we covered that topic relatively well at least touched on it well. Um it's probably a discussion that can continue on in the comment section.
Again, just to be respectful, but I don't want to stay on that too long because we really like this movie.
>> It's true.
>> The casting does not make this a bad movie. Um if you're concerned about that, this movie is incredible. We both went and saw it. We both say it's incredible. So, um, kind of gear shifting back to the movie itself, more moments that stuck out to you. Do you want to talk about like maybe the journey of Odysius?
>> Yeah, I think we should get into some other themes. I mean, I think one moment that stuck out to me a ton is Odysius's monologue as the beggar to Anne Hathaway.
>> Oh man, it's so good.
>> Thought was so good.
>> And then the apology to Athena, too, a little >> definitely the strongest part of Matt Damon's performance there.
>> Yes, I would completely agree. Um, but then like it hit me. I'm like the the theme of like the cycle of violence and like like Odysius feels bad for the Trojan horse because it's like and I don't again I have no idea how historically accurate this is.
>> Did the Trojan War even happen? It's kind of up in the air, >> but it is a cool thought that like the Trojan horse broke's law, which is another theme we'll get into in a second. And that's how the Bronze Age fell and how this kind of like utopian Greco world broke is because of Odysius's choice. Or at least that's his perspective in this I mean fictional universe.
>> And I think that guilt makes a lot of sense.
>> I think it makes a lot of sense.
>> Yeah.
>> Um so I thought that monologue was great. I thought it was super interesting.
a super interesting theme and like I mean there's a lot of commentary now of the cycle of violence and yeah I mean everyone's at war all the time and everyone hates each other so it's like >> it's just super interesting.
>> Yeah. I think too I would say there's some debate around Penelopey and like also there's this whole commentary like can Nolan write women which I would say have you seen Oenheimer uh Kitty Emily Blunt's character is extremely well written I would say um but I would say Penelope is very well written and there's like a there's a nuance in there like% >> she's a man she loves and cares a lot about >> and there's a lot of tension there of like like she wants Odysius and like She I mean there are so many times that in Hathaway is just screaming at Tom Holland or someone else I want Odysius like that's who I want. She wants her husband. She wants a man that she loves >> and but then there's this nuance of like who's on the throne of Ithaca.
>> And I think the movie plays with the nuance well of like she's like I've been ruling Ithaca like I have also been I have all these suitors in my house. are trying to get to me, but I I want my husband, but I also want to do what's right for my kingdom, but also like I'm really like there's a lot of nuance there. I think the movie plays with the well. So, >> yeah, I agree. How did you feel about Zeus's law being such a strong concept in this movie and >> I liked it. Yeah. Um I wouldn't say it's like a concept, not a plot device, but like >> No. Yeah. I would say the plot kind of hinges on the fact of like treat others the way you want to be treated and how does that play out in all these situations >> for sure and I think the movie plays with it really well and I think it's really hammered home with the Trojan horse. Um I mean the last shot is kind of about that, >> right?
>> Um I've seen some criticism online briefly about like they just kind of say stuff about Zeus's law and then do stuff. I think that this movie is deep like it has depth to it. Um, I I think it adds depth to a story that can seem, oh, Odysius wants to get revenge on all these suitors. Like, no, there's a lot about trauma and war and all these things that it plays with. I would say it's good. I wasn't super familiar with Zeus's law. I don't know if that's a concept created for the Odyssey movie. I don't >> I don't know.
>> Don't quote me on anything there, but um I liked it a lot. What did you think about Zeus's law? I thought it was interesting. I think Nolan said this in an interview and I thought it was an astute observation.
>> Okay.
>> From the Lord Nolan himself.
>> Sir Nolan.
>> Sir Nolan. Soul sir Lord King >> I think in Game of Thrones Lord's own castles.
>> Oh my gosh. Anyway, [laughter] >> um he said that I mean I'm paraphrasing, but he basically said that to have a successful civilization, you have to treat strangers the way you would want to be treated or else you live in anarchy, >> which I would use a pretty good I think is true.
>> There's root in some truth there, >> right? Um, and I was like, I I think I know that like subconsciously, but I don't think I've ever like consciously thought about this concept of like h how does treating others like obviously treating others selfishly is bad. But like I think it it is well explored in this movie and there's a lot to think about there. I will say this is not the Deepest Nolan movie on a thematic level.
>> It's not. It is not for sure. Um, I think it has depth to it.
>> I agree. And I think it could have just been a really cool like action war flick and we would have been like, "All right." Yeah. And it it goes deeper and it it tries to I would say Interstellar is more emotional than this movie.
>> I agree. I would say uh I'll just leave it at Interstellar, but I like there's a lot of depth to Nolan's stuff and he's he's dabbled in it. This movie doesn't need like the deepest like I I'm really thinking about everything this movie is saying like >> Yeah, >> because the moments are so awesome.
>> I don't think not every movie has to be like you recontextualize your entire life.
>> Yeah, I think I think Oenheimer and Interstellar have like some real depth.
This movie has depth, but not in the same way. And that's okay. Um, I think that for these characters and for the story, the death it it serves its purpose for sure. So, >> okay. Do you want to hear my one hang-up?
>> Okay. Yeah. Let's get into hang-ups, gripes, if we have any at all.
>> I don't even know if it's a hangup, but >> let's talk about it.
>> Here we are.
>> Okay.
>> The sentimental stick >> that Matt Damon gives to Robert Patterson.
>> Oh, I I thought it was good.
>> But how on earth did he keep it the entire time? You know, that's a great question >> because when he's on Calypso's island, she's like, "You've been clutching this thing." And I thought he was going to open his hand and two objects were going to be in his hand. The Athena statue and then the sentimental stick.
>> Do you think they have pockets in the Odyssey?
>> And that's my question to you.
[laughter] >> Do I have Madam have a pocket? And did it survive being ripped apart the ship and floating all the way to Calypso's Island?
>> I'm gonna say yes.
>> Okay.
>> Matt Damon has pockets in this movie. Do you think Matt Damon has pockets in this movie?
>> I think that's a very minor continuity thing. It did feel a little bit like a Count of Monte Cristo payoff.
>> Uh I say that in like a I've seen 2001 2002 movie with Guy Pierce and Jim Caviesel and it's a very good movie. I enjoyed that movie a lot but it felt like a count of money Christo payoff a little bit but it was kind of awesome.
>> I liked it.
>> It it was good.
>> I mean the the whole third act >> I thought was great. I thought was full of tension.
>> Yep. Um, I had forgotten the like the whole disguise thing of when it was awesome.
>> Odysius needs to rock up in disguise.
>> Yeah, I think >> thought was sick.
>> Mhm.
>> Um, I mean the the scene when they were fighting in like the priest, the temple of Athena, I guess.
>> Oh man.
>> And Tom Holland and Matt Damon are just going ham. I'm like, "Oh my gosh, the action sequences here were so dope."
>> So, just kind of to tie into the third act because that's when the audience that I was with started to kind of get into it.
>> Yeah. Um, which I would say it was 11:00 a.m. when our showtime started, so I think people were maybe not as like, "Oh, we can clap in this movie." But then like by the end of the movie, they were like, "We're cheering." Um, what moments did people cheer slashclap in your showing?
>> Uh, uh, >> the third act, I mean, at the end, like when credits rolled, >> um, the third act when Odysius is just killing suitors.
>> Yes. Um, and then the Trojan sacking of Troy. The first >> really they cheered them. They didn't when when Odysius like took off his hood and Oh, man. It's such a good moment.
>> So good.
>> And he strings the bow.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, it's it's so good. And by the way, Robert Patson is great in this movie, which I know he's like kind of great and everything, >> but he's a slimy guy.
>> He's just nasty.
>> He's a good villain. You hate him. It's good. So, >> uh, Corey Hawin.
>> Oh, yeah. Shout out.
>> Also hatable.
>> Yeah, they they're all kind of like they're kicking the dog. Very cute. Very real dog.
>> Cory, what are we doing here?
>> Let me tell you about a pet peeve of mine in cinema. Okay.
>> Fake CGI dogs. I like a good freaking real dog. What happened to the air buddy days?
>> Come on, man.
>> Bro, when Odysius gets there and the dog dies, >> that's heartwarming.
>> It's heartwarming and sad. That'll hit you.
>> Um, how do you feel about Tom Holland in this movie?
>> Okay, >> this is a good discussion point.
>> I think his performance is good.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't know.
I don't want to say it's not great because I love Tom Holland as a person.
>> I like this choice from him.
>> Okay. Do you think it's great or do you think it's good?
>> I think it's good.
>> Okay. I think it's good, too.
>> I don't think he does like a lot in this movie. They're like, "Oh, Tom Holland's really, really great."
>> Right.
>> Like, he's the son.
>> I think he has some moments where you're like, "Okay, that was great."
>> Yeah. Yeah. For sure.
>> But I think as a whole, his performance is good.
>> I think he carries his own weight.
>> Yep. I agree.
>> I believe him as as Odysius's son in this movie.
>> And I'm not just saying like, "Oh, he's Peter Parker in another movie." Like, no, he is Odysius's son in this movie.
>> Yep.
>> I was talking to my brother who went and saw this movie with me. He was like, >> couldn't really like get Peter Parker out of my head. I think that's fair.
Like if No, no, no. For someone who this is all we've seen Tom Holland in for like a decade is Spider-Man. I can understand where you're coming from.
>> Yeah.
>> But I don't think like I had that moment at the beginning of the movie. I'm like there's Tom Holland. I was like okay I was good with it.
>> Yeah. I mean I do think there's a problem where it's like once you become so recognizable for a certain thing. I mean every time I see Chris Evans anywhere I'm like that's Captain America. DJ is the same way.
>> I didn't feel that way in Knives Out, though.
>> Oh, I I still do.
>> He plays such a different character. I don't know.
>> He plays such a different character.
>> I don't know actually.
>> Gosh, that's my favorite Chris Adams performance. He's so fun.
>> But I will say performance.
>> What's his name in that movie? You >> I [laughter] knew you knew.
>> I LOVE THAT. IT'S IN MY TOP FOUR.
WHATEVER.
>> Ransom and Steve Rogers are so polar opposite that I think it's distinguishable. Ticus and Peter Parker are they're different, but not like crazy different.
>> They are not as polar opposites. Yeah, that's fair.
>> Yeah. So like when all that to say I think Tom Holland has a good solid performance here carries his weight and it's a very believable.
>> I am interested I feel like Palpatine I'm going to watch your career with great interest. Um for someone who's a very established Hollywood person I'm interested to see where he goes from here cuz he said in interviews like it's kind of last time I can play a boy like >> yeah it's true >> he is going to have to shift from like these roles like where does he go next?
What what's he do? That's interesting.
Feel like Zinda really made that jump pretty quickly as she does her own thing now. I think Timothy Jalam is kind of somewhere in there.
>> I think Timothy Jalam's >> has done enough different that he's not recognizable is one thing.
>> Yeah. Like you see Marty Supreme and he doesn't feel like call me by your name.
>> Yeah.
>> So >> you want to know and this is completely on me.
>> Oh no.
>> But you want to know who's really hard to see as anything else now? Who?
>> John Bernthal.
>> Are you saying it's Mikey or is >> I'm like that's Mikey.
>> Yeah.
>> Anytime I see him >> he did have a different haircut.
>> I know. But even then I'm like I mean I think >> I wanted him to throw a fork or something.
>> I have such an emotional connection to the bear now.
>> Yeah, I do too.
>> That I'm like anytime I And again, Jeremy Allen White it's going to be even worse. But >> yeah, Jeremy Allen White also like looks like Jeremy Allen White, right?
>> He's a little bit less chameleon.
>> Um yeah, >> but that I'm kind of kidding there. But I my first thought was like Mikey.
>> No, I think like that's the thing with this cast and that's something you just got to get over with the attitude.
>> True.
>> Everybody's recognizable.
>> I mean, you have Will Hunting and uh Devil Wears product. What's her name? Is it >> Emily?
>> Emily, >> isn't it?
>> No, that's uh >> No, no, that's Emily Blunt.
>> That's Emily Blunt. It's Golly. I just watched this movie.
>> It's going to kill me. Anyway, we have all these different people from Hollywood that you know >> and they're all in the Odyssey. You just got to suspend some disbelief here.
>> Like >> I can't think of all these people as the people I know them as. Like these are these people in the Odyssey. They're having a fun time. So >> yeah. Another shout out, Hamish Patel.
>> Hish Patel. Yeah, >> he did great.
>> He was in Tennet.
>> He was >> and he I've seen yesterday >> which I actually really like yesterday.
But I think in a long time >> he had like a physicality that kind of surprised me and I think only because I've associated him with Yesterday as like >> this Beatles singer that I'm like when he's killing guys I'm like whoa.
>> I think that's fun.
>> He was a good kind of foil to Matt Damon.
>> Their attention was great.
>> It was good. It was really really solid.
Um, yeah. I mean, this movie I think might get some critiques for like, oh, we just watched Matt Damon go on a bunch of different islands and run away, >> but like also that's the Odyssey.
>> That's one, that's the book, too.
>> Two, yeah, >> I think the length of the movie really lends itself to the end of the movie.
You're like, he's back. Like it >> you feel a sense of triumph.
>> Yes.
>> That I think is a credit to the length.
>> Yeah. the journey really and I was like, "Oh, the journey is what really matters, but like also no, the destination really matters here and the journey makes the payoff so good."
>> Yeah.
>> So, yeah. I don't know. We could talk about so much with this movie. Maybe we'll do a second Odyssey podcast. But, >> all right. I'm I'm going to say this and I'm going to hate that I'm saying this.
>> Oh, no. How many How many things are you going to say that are going to make people mad in the comments?
>> No. This This is only making me mad.
>> Oh. Oh, no. Our Nolan ranking is now on screen.
>> Oh gosh.
>> For you viewers.
>> Oh, you have to do editing.
>> So now I have to edit.
>> Okay. Well, I'm going to read the >> Actually, you read it off and I'll put it up >> because we have audio listeners. By the way, if you're new to the channel, you should consider subscribing. Thank you for being here.
>> Um, if you are on audio platform, maybe leave a quick fivestar review if you're just chilling there like, "Oh, I like these dudes." Um, our null and rankings are as follows. In number one, we have the Dark Knight. Two, Interstellar.
Three, the Prestige. Wow. I I already disagree with what we said nine months ago. Uh, four, Inception. Five, Ten It.
Six, Momento. Seven, Oppenheimer. Okay, [laughter] >> that was me.
>> Eight, Dark Knight Rises. Nine, Batman Begins. 10, Dunkirk.
>> Not sure. Well, 50-50 on that. 11, Insomnia. 12, Following, >> which by the way, if you're like, where did these come from? We've talked about every single Nolan movie >> on our podcast.
>> On our podcast.
>> It was a while ago, so if the episodes are rough, we're sorry.
>> That's true. It was like almost a year ago.
>> Yeah. By the way, we're young. If you're new to the channel, we're a young podcast. So, it's true.
>> Um, >> we are going to revisit this ranking. Do you want to change any of this really quick?
>> I think I'm still in solid.
>> I feel like we have to keep it now.
>> I think I'm solid where we are.
>> I think I would lower I think I would lower the Dark Knight, but like I love the Dark Knight.
>> You would have Interstellar at one.
>> I think I have Interstellar at one, Prestige 2, Dark Knight at three. But I I people are gonna hate that. I'm saying, >> "Oh, that's that's interesting.
>> Dark Knight's incredible. It's so good."
But like the Prestige is it's like >> the prestige is in my top four and the Dark Knight is not.
>> Prestige though, >> but I think we had some argument that I that I agreed with of like why the Dark Knight's number one. And I can't remember what it was.
>> I'm sure that argument would probably convince I think past Grant would convince current Grant.
>> I say we leave it.
>> Okay. All right. We're going to leave our ranking. Where do we put the Odyssey?
>> The Odyssey. I think we just go up the rankings and we start debating.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> The Odyssey is better than following.
>> It is.
>> The Odyssey is better than Insomnia.
>> It is.
>> The Odyssey is better than Dunkirk.
>> It is.
>> Oh my gosh, dude. By the way, on the internet the other day on just like the interwebs, right?
>> I saw Nolan ranking, Dunkirk was number one. I was like, >> bro, I think I saw the same thing and I >> I commented on it. I said I got like 70 likes like in in [laughter] five hours.
It was like uh I said Dunkirk is good, bro. But it is not number one.
>> Not number one.
>> Not top tier.
>> Insane. That's just straight rage bait and you're just farming for >> I like Dunkirk.
>> Is not that good.
>> Oh my gosh. It It pisses me off.
>> I think we could maybe bump Dunkirk above Batman or whatever, but like Okay.
>> Yeah, that's fine.
>> Sorry. Back to the Odyssey. Dunkirk is not as good as the Odyssey, right?
>> No. Uh, the Odyssey is better than Batman Begins.
>> Yes.
>> The Odyssey is better than The Dark Knight Rises.
>> My best ban impression.
>> Yes. [laughter] >> I don't I don't know if that was >> And we just lost subscribers after that.
No.
>> Wow. We have Oenheimer really low. Uh, but that's okay. The Odyssey is better than Oppenheimer.
>> Yes.
Yeah. I Okay, I can say it. I think I disagree with our own ranking here, but this is what we agreed on. So, for the sake of this ranking, the Odyssey is better than Oenheimer because I think the next sentence I'm about to say is also true because the Odyssey is better than Momento.
Oh, yeah. I think it is.
>> So, we could say that the Odyssey jumps those two slots.
I think straight up the Odyssey is better than Oenheimer. But yes, >> I think Oenheimer >> I think we need to I need to rewatch it.
>> This is a more concise script and more impressive technically than Oenheimer.
Oenheimer asked bigger questions.
>> That doesn't necessarily mean it's a better movie as a whole.
>> I think Oenheimer is better edited.
>> Actually, I might disagree. I think Well, Oenheimer is probably a harder edit.
>> Agreed.
>> So, what they achieved is really incredible.
>> True. But that's one aspect. I >> also think the performances are better than Oben.
>> I agree.
>> Uh Killian Murphy, Emily Blunt, I just I Icel >> those performances are better.
>> Yeah. But I think as a whole, the Odyssey is better. Yeah. Yeah, that's fine. I'm okay with that. I'm giving Oenheimer it flowers so people are like, "What?"
>> That's fine. That's fine.
>> Okay. The Odyssey is better than Tenant.
That is just straight up true.
>> Oh my gosh. Wow. We have the Odyssey really high.
>> The Odyssey is better than Tenant.
>> The Odyssey is better than Tenant.
>> Okay. I I I >> You like Tenant way too much.
>> I will say yes, but I love Tenant.
>> See, I Okay. Wow. I really hate the middle of our Nolan Rankings. I really hate it, by the way. Okay.
>> We'll work it eventually.
Yeah, this middle chunk is really bad.
[laughter] I hate I don't know why we agree to this. All right, the Odyssey is better than Inception.
>> All right, this is where it gets interesting. Inception has more depth >> character-wise or just like >> I don't know actually.
>> Cobb has a lot of depth and basically no one else. Uh I guess Killian Murphy, who's he play in that movie?
>> I don't even know what the son of the rich guy.
>> Yeah. Uh I say he has a little bit of depth.
>> Actually, I don't know. I don't know if I agree with that now that I think about it.
>> I think the Odyssey has more character depth.
>> My mic just fell.
>> Yeah, I agree. I agree.
>> I I >> It's just like So there's such like a classic.
>> It is classic. I would argue Odyssey is more technically impressive.
>> Okay, but we have to put it in crazy.
>> We literally have to put it in context, though. Inception was groundbreaking in its own right.
>> Right.
>> But so was the Odyssey.
>> No, you're right. The Odyssey is pretty groundbreaking.
>> Oh, I don't know.
I would say Inception is also groundbreaking from a story. Not like a story, but like a >> true >> world building or from like a script perspective of like how it is structured.
>> The Odyssey is less groundbreaking in that field.
>> Okay. I have a question. Okay. And then we'll come back to Inception.
We are not going to say the Odyssey is better than the Prestige. Correct.
No. Okay. So, we are debating between Inception in our rankings on the screen.
The four and five slot is either Inception at four, Odyssey at five or >> Odyssey at four, Inception at five. This is the debate right now.
>> Yeah.
>> Which I'm okay with either of these spots.
>> I think I I think is better than Inception.
>> The ending of Inception. Does that save Inception or does it like is it gimmicky?
>> I will say this. I think again the Odyssey has been out for 3 days so who knows. I I would think that the ending of Inception will be more talked about.
>> Yeah.
>> Than this ending.
>> Yeah, for sure. Uh will the Odyssey be talked about more than Inception?
Probably not.
>> I think it might. I think it might. It's so hard to predict where pop culture is going to go with this movie. It's like really hard.
>> I mean, th this is an endgame level event of pop culture. I really think it is.
>> I don't think it'll reach the same heights, but yes, I I see what you're saying.
>> Even look at just theaters.
>> No. Yeah, you're right. I don't It's not going to make as much money, but >> No, but I'm talking culturally.
>> Yeah, >> I think it's better than Inception.
>> All right. I'm going to concede on this and agree.
>> Okay.
>> With the asterisk of we are going to do a full Nolan episode at some point.
>> We will rework this ranking.
>> Yeah. We we'll do a rankings workshop here.
>> I do want to go back and like watch our videos and figure out why we put everything where we put it.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> And you should too.
>> And you [laughter] and you should subscribe if you're still here. Um we got to start wrapping this thing up.
>> Yep.
>> But anything else you want to say on the Odyssey? I mean, there's a lot we could still talk about. Honestly, we don't we don't need to have an Odyssey length episode on the Odyssey.
>> No, we don't.
>> So, I mean, other moments that stuck out to you, other performances that you're like, "Oh, this person was good."
>> Nope. [laughter] >> All right.
>> I think it's great. I think it's great.
I think it's phenomenal.
>> Go see it again. I'm probably going to go see it again. I saw it alone. All my family's like, "Was it good? Should I go see it?" I'm like, "Yes, and I'll go with you." So, >> man, Polly loved it, by the way. My my wife loved it.
>> Okay, good.
>> So, yes, she had a great time.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh, trailers were scary. Fun fact, we're we're kind of in in in endgame of this podcast.
>> The trailers before the Odyssey was scary.
>> There was uh one for what was it? Uh, another mommy or whatever.
>> Oh, that one was a little >> pretty scary.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh, >> it looked terrible.
>> Resident Evil was pretty cool.
>> Zack Kger.
>> Zack Kger.
>> Backtoback years, by the way, which is impressive to do. Oh, I played Rocky. Is I Okay, >> we're in the deep end of this podcast, but it's fine.
>> Okay, we're I'm gonna say this really quick. I don't like remakes. I don't like unnecessary stories or or sequels or whatever.
>> Biopic things.
>> I don't like it. This is interesting because the actual story of how they made Rocky is very interesting.
>> True.
>> And it's a very good underdog story.
>> Yeah. I will also say this. Yep.
>> I on this podcast have disliked biopics.
>> I have as well >> or biopics or whatever. I don't care. I still dislike them. This movie was genetically engineered in a lab for me.
>> An underdog story about a guy who really wants to make a movie [laughter] and then he writes a script and then plays the dang character >> and then wins kills it. I'm like, "Yeah, >> that's like my ideal life.
>> We're going to go see it.
>> I'll watch it. See it." I grew up on the Rocky movies. Rocky 4 was like, "My dad loved watching the movie with me." So, >> uh, we're going to go watch that when that comes out. But, >> um, I have one question then we can get to coming up next.
>> Okay.
>> Drew, you are at a party.
>> I'm at a party.
>> It's a chill birthday party.
>> Chill birthday party >> in the Odyssey. Well, wait. I'm going to add there is a 65 in 4K flat screen TV and somebody in the Odyssey >> like lights off, but it's in another room. It's in another room. Party's going on in one room >> and the Odyssey movie home movie theater experience is on another room.
>> Okay.
>> What are you doing?
>> I have an equally important question for you.
>> Okay.
>> What is this birthday party?
>> It's a chill birthday party.
>> It's I know.
>> No, it's a [laughter] No. Okay. I'll >> structure the invitation. How did this How did this arrive to me? Is this a an Odyssey birthday party or is this a birthday party that happened to >> Okay, here's what you get. This is what you get. Okay, >> this is a this is a chill birthday party with a mutual friend.
>> Okay, >> you have a friend of a friend. Your close friend is friends with this person.
>> Okay, >> and they are having a a general birthday party, but this guy really likes movies.
>> Okay.
>> And this guy's mom really like she just knows ball and >> she put on the Odyssey in the other room.
>> Goed mom.
>> But everybody else is like playing fun games in like the main room. So, I did not come to this party with the impression that the Odyssey would be put on.
>> No. And also, you aren't like super close with the person.
>> Okay.
>> And the Odyssey's on in the other room.
We were going really deep on this.
>> I'm going to say no.
>> You're not >> not because of the watch.
>> I'm not going to watch the Odyssey >> in the room where the Odyssey's on.
>> Not because of the quality of the movie.
In fact, the quality has nothing to do with it.
>> Okay.
>> I don't necessarily want to cuz again, I don't like long movies in general. Oh, >> this movie definitely earns it run time.
>> Okay, that was my question.
>> And I love this movie and I think if it earns it run time, I love it.
>> Good catch.
>> Thanks. I I like I love the long movie, but it needs to be a scheduled event.
>> Yeah, that's fair. That [laughter] is that's fair. So, if I'm going to a party >> without the impression that I am watching the Odyssey, okay, or another three-hour movie, >> like I need to kind of shift gears and my transmission is a little busted. So, like if I'm going to have fun and like play ping pong with like some people I don't really know, that's my pressure going into the Odyssey [laughter] on, you're like, "Oh, no." Whoa.
>> Why didn't you say this was an Odyssey party? I would have been I would have wore Mike Nolan shirt.
Oh, no.
>> I'm going to say no.
>> Okay.
>> But if I'm ever in that situation, I might pivot my decision.
>> Okay. Now, now you're prepared though.
If you're ever in that situation now, you're like, "Oh, remember that podcast that we did?
>> I'm ready now."
>> Okay.
>> I'm going to surprise you. At some point in your life, you're going to walk into my house for >> the impression that we're playing with the impression that you're doing something different and the Odyssey's going to be on and I'm going to be like, "Choose."
>> It's like this is right now, the Syncopy logo. [laughter] And I'm like, frick.
Man, when that CB logo came up, I was like, I'm ready. I'm ready.
>> Let's buckle in. Um, wow. We've talked for a while on this.
>> What do we got coming up next, Drew?
>> Guys, we're going to pivot a little bit.
Tom Holland is still here.
>> And >> Spider-Man Marathon.
>> John Berthal's still here.
>> John Berthal's still here. Spider-Man Marathon. We are Okay, we've already talked about Spider-Man one.
>> Yep.
>> The Remy one.
>> Yep.
And now we're going to do two, three, Amazing One, two, Homecoming, Far From Home, No Way Home. All in preparation for Brand New Day.
>> No, no Spider-Verse. No Spiderverse.
>> Only live action.
>> Yep. [music] >> It's going to be lit. Also, comment your Spider-Man hot takes.
>> Do it.
>> If you have them for now, that is all.
>> Um, >> we have that's that's like [music] the next rest of the month.
>> That's like the rest. I don't know when we're starting to drop, but it'll be like a a week long marathon.
>> Yep. I think we have a birthday podcast for me coming out at some point. We got some other stuff. And we're watching House of the Dragon right now. True. So, >> that'll drop Monday. Is that right?
>> Yes.
>> Monday.
>> Monday. Uh if you're into any of that stuff, we got you. Hit that subscribe button. If you're like, "I really hope they do something on Doom 3 when that comes out." [music] >> Don't worry. Don't worry at all.
>> Don't fret. You're in good hands.
>> If you're like, "Oh, these guys are just film bros that only like Nolan." Uh, [music] we watch everything for the Oscars.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh, we will watch basically anything.
So, if you have a suggestion, send it.
We might get around to it.
>> If [music] you want a review of Secret Agent, >> we got you.
>> There. Go watch it.
>> Um, if you want a full Pixar movie ranking breakdown, we got you.
>> Um, so we're we're [music] a bit of everything here. Kind of a sorted box of donuts. So, hit that subscribe button, take a break, >> and enjoy the Odyssey.
