Psychologist Analysis of The Summer Hikaru Died Episode 3
Added:Hi VOD watchers. Welcome on in. Hey, I hope you're taking good care of yourself. I hope that you've taken a shower today. Uh you don't want to be, you know, out there and, you know, suffering. I hope you've cleaned your room, taken out those bottle caps, those uh th those cans that are left out there. Please make sure good hygiene is important, especially when watching uh the summer Hikaru died, which is an absolute phenomenon, right? Two episodes in and I feel like we we've already gone through the whole series. So my question for you is [snorts] for the summer stank died. Do you guys think that Hikaru is stanky? That's the question that I have for you guys tonight is do you guys think that Hikaru is stanky as an individual that Oh dear god. [laughter] He does nah like rotting, you know, like do they even understand that like they have to follow certain procedures to not like fully wreak like that's, you know, cuz teenage boys and teenage girls and my teenage envaru smell either of rotting corpse of hey, I walk like I walked in and I forgot to do anything like that, you know. [laughter] Oh, actually apparently nah nah blink.
I've heard so many accounts of people going into into the trains and them thinking that way and then being like nah [laughter] nah.
He does not know what the order it is.
Yeah. So that's just a question out there is, you know, does [clears throat] the summer stink died? Is it real? You know, I don't know. Yeah, but do you know how many that That's fair. That is fair. I don't know. I I'm just I'm just very very curious about it. That's uh very interesting question to start off.
But also, hey, I think that and I keep highlighting this and I it's very interesting. By the way, please make sure to help out the channel. Leave a like, comment, subscribe, share uh the video around to those individuals that that you know may like a fun but good psychological analysis on the show. One of the big things that that I do highlight is I actually really enjoy the fact that like this is a good representation of like did of mental health disorders of anxiety of having a panic attack right like everything that it's showcased so far aside from the supernatural thing because I'm not an expert in supernatural elements right but the natural order of things is so like so well done that it does leave an impression on me you know yoy thanks so much for the 30 dream streak. You Yo, that's awesome. Hell yeah. Hell yeah.
Tanaka smells like burnt coffee, Bo, and cigarettes [sighs and snorts] is what I know. Wayfairing geek. But how much of that is actually true? Cuz I I'm not going to throw some of some of my my I I had I had a lot I had a group of uh Japanese friends in college and they swore up and down that they did not stank.
I can confirm there was some stank.
[laughter] I can confirm there was some stank, you know, especially on hot days. [laughter] That's that's why I I I I'm like, how much of that is actually true versus like a cultural element that we just highlight, you know, like maybe they're not as stinky, you know, but hey, it smells like roses, rose scented bath.
Oh, maybe. Anyway, let's jump into it.
Um, not everyone. But I mean, it's a normal thing, especially it depends on your diet and what you're doing and all of that sort of stuff, right?
Oh.
>> Oh.
A [ __ ] Now you got Now that's You got You got to be careful with seeds, right? Cuz I know as a as a kid I used to be very terrified of like eating the seeds cuz I didn't like my my dad would like scare me and say that like oh well watermelon's going to start growing inside of you now. [laughter] Like he was just straight up about it.
He's like go say goodbye to your friends. Go say goodbye to your mom.
[laughter] Like you like drama drama inducing elements of things, right? You dead, right? I don't want a watermelon baby. [laughter] Not the watermelon. Yeah. And you believe it as a kid, right? Because you you really take that in. Like you really take that in and anything like that is like way too much. But it's it's interesting because as kids were so open to ideas and superstition and elements like this. And I guess I'll highlight for this and I I'll ask this of you all.
At what age did you start repressing the childlike version of you?
At what age did you stop start like putting a lid on a lot of the thoughts and aspects that like the child aspect of you would wonder and ask and started acting more mature because society asked it of you at what age did all of a sudden you you never well that's good that's great you know in that regard but I I promise you this a majority of individuals start masking especially to fit into society you know around 8 9 11.
Yeah. 11 cuz Yeah. Probably when my dad told me Santa wasn't real. Yeah. Those are critical moments altogether that come through and impact uh an individual to, you know, start growing up. Even further, how many of you were parentified, either suffered early childhood trauma that made you grow up quickly and see that not all adults are safe, right? Or maybe you had to grow up and take care of your siblings even if they're older than you, right? You had to step into a parent role or do task and duties that weren't necessarily yours. So you had to grow up quickly and not have to go through that, right? I parentified.
Yeah. At times like that, you know, and and I highlight this because unfortunately a lot of individuals um aren't fully aware that like the child aspect of themselves at times we it suffers because of that, right? And we cherish memories like this when we're kids because they're they can be very innocent, very pure aspects of ourselves, you know, and it's that's why I'm like, oo, this flashback, this moment, this pure aspect, I don't think I ever did. My sister was parentified though by herself. O yeah, divorce is a big aspect, you know, that can impact you. Bullying 100%.
Have you ever been made fun of or bullied uh for the way that you looked, for the way that you dressed, for liking an anime, for cosplaying, for whatever that may have been? How have you dealt with it? Has that soured your mood around individuals or no? Have you found your way out of that? Like it it's it's a lot to take in. It's a lot to deal with. And that's what I'm saying is childhood memories are so critical and so important uh for growth, for everything.
Watermelon man. Oh. [laughter] [snorts] Oh.
Oh no. [laughter] [laughter] Oh my goodness. [laughter] Oh no.
Oh my heart.
Aru what this is going to mean for them, right? Are they going to start seeing and understanding that maybe humans are can be worse than monsters and even so like especially cuz there's like the eyes in the hands, right? Your agents of change have eyes so you're able to go to the sea stuff, right? Eyes in the mouth, right? Which often times means that humans are capable of telling lies. And even more so, it's making me wonder about drugs. Uh there is no society that is just completely free from drug use in that capacity. So it's like, you know, will there be aspects where we start seeing these outside influences come in and showcase that humans are monsters, dude? Like there, don't get me wrong, humans can be capable of empathy and beautiful things, but we can be capable of like absolutely horrendous aspects uh that can classify us as monsters altogether, you know? And and it's like for an entity itself to see this and be like you know what we hunt out of a natural instinct as like you know prey or as a predator to hunt prey but you all just do it out of out of selfishness out of an egotistical drive to feel needed and wanted and in control while we do it out of an instinct. you know, where it's not necessarily black or white, but it ooh that it's like how does that morality come through in an aspect of you know what, the world's not black or white. It's a it's shades of gray and there are people that I care about and people that I have memories with, even false memories that showcase that they care about me, you know, or do I destroy them or do I keep them here as useful pawns?
Yes, blue entity just is humans are intentional.
This is such a cool opening.
Oh, Hold on.
Nobody else matters.
Nobody else matters.
Nobody else matters to Hikaru.
everyone else is either dead or disappearing or you know into monster like and it does like this is a perception that I do have and I do wonder how does Hikaru look at people?
Does he even view them as human?
Right? Does he even view them as human or are they all just like you know is this the perspective that you see things right? like all in red individuals as like you know kind of like puppets.
[snorts] [sighs] [snorts] Does that reflect how the original Hikaro saw the world as well? Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, and the main thing is this, right?
Would you be proud if an entity species came through and experienced life currently?
Like, would you be able to justify all the actions that humans are able to go ahead and do or not? Would they judge us almost instantly based out of the decisions that we've made for either a horrible or good future depending on how you look at it? You know, dad, I I'd be very afraid. And also, which one is the original Hikaru, right? Like the inside of that you can have all the memories, everything all there together. It's like the ship of Thesius. Is is that still considered a aspect of Hikaru, not the Hikaru? Rain, welcome, come on through.
Why'd you take a nap? Take a full go. Go Mimi. It's a okay. You know what? Like that's >> [sighs] >> Oh, this >> [snorts] >> Hefty watermelon in general. And and for those of you guys that are familiar with Japan in general, aren't fruits like expensive?
Like watermelons and you know whatnot over there?
So, I'm sure that that's a big or special. Yes.
[laughter] >> [screaming] >> Hey yo.
Okay. Okay. I see what you're going for here.
But also that's that there's a counter to this. There is a counter to this.
See, right now his legs, he has you under, over, right? Arm here, arm here. Your body's this way. His body's this way. He has your head wherever you're at. He has your head all curled up in here, right? In that regard, not even necessarily, right? Cuz he's lifting up his head. One of the key instances to do this is literally trying to shimmy to the right to get your leg over his throat and slam down. That's all you got to do. The summer wrestling died, you know. That's all you got to do and lock it in and you have a triangle choke. That's all you got to do. If that left leg of his can like if he can shimmy enough to even put it over his mouth and let the other one lock it in, you're going to create a triang triangle choke and and and literally choke him out. Uh now, now can Hikaru turn into an entity and destroy him? That's a different question, right? But we're talking about, you know, will Hikaru like to be in between his legs and being choked out like that? Now, that's a different question altogether. Will this put him in an environment where he's able to get into this, you know, get out? That's yes, you know, that is like logically how how he he'd be able to do it. Uh, one of the key things though though is he needs to shimmy and he needs to get away from that lock because that sucks, dude. That sucks. Uh, although his left arm should be free. It should be free. And what? It's true.
It's true. Look at Look at this energy.
Look at this. [screaming] That's exactly what I thought to do. You see, even Rain thought about it. Ra's like that's what I would do in that situation. We got to recreate it, you know, show you guys how to go ahead and escape that um alto together. There's there's another way as well, but it takes a lot of core strength. Uh it and it probably wouldn't be fun if you're actually fighting. Find your core, try and lift lift them up, you know, stand up and then slam them back into the ground if you're strong enough to do that uh until they let go. Yeah, wrestling can be seen as farting, you know.
You just need a a strong core.
Nobody can eat watermelon. Hey I think for me, the more that I look at it, the more I'm wondering how much of it is to keep an aspect of Hikaru alive, even though he's not, right? an aspect of that love and admiration and you know the the the feelings there for the individual that that they cared about versus actually acknowledging the truth right in facing it for what it is. Having that dissonance where on the one hand your feelings say this but your thoughts say another it can create for you to derealize and depersonalize. Like I'm going to ask this question and if you guys are a-ok okay or comfortable answering it or you guys agree with it, you guys can put a Dorito if it's happened to you. How many of you have ever felt pure pressure to date someone that feelings wise you might have felt something but thought-wise, logically you're like, "No, this ain't it." Like I'll be straight up. Yeah. You know, and at times it felt like it it felt like I was there but I wasn't there. And it felt like I was fighting myself the entire relationship. It felt like, you know, if we want to even call it that, because I called it off like instantly. I was like, "Yeah, this ain't gonna work." You know, um it it pity dated at least two guys. No. Yeah, that's that's a that's a big one. You know, it's like ultimately your your your thoughts and your emotions aren't in line, which kind of highlights like, hey, this might not necessarily be an individual that you're fully there. Like, don't recommend it.
No, it's not fun. It it is not fun.
uh felt like watching somebody else just go through the steps and you don't want to come off as bad at the same time you don't want like the longer you stay in it the more it's like well you convincing yourself to try and stay in that relationship which can be toxic in of as well right cognitive distortions and all of this stuff I highlight all of this because whenever we look at Hikaro and we look at this relationship think about it this way cognitively you're aware that Hikaru is dead feelings-wise oh my god it's Hikaru kind. Exactly. Kind of like a s cause fallacy. You've already spent a long time getting to know them. It's can you even distance yourself without it risking your life? Or does it kind of create a bit of a Stockholm instance where yes, you can get away? Yes, you could try and distance yourself, but to what level before it threatens your life? You don't know you would even be without the person. Yeah. Who would you be without that person? And that that's why I'm like even even worse. Here's a here's another one. How many of you guys have picked up traits or habits from past relationships and you guys recognize it? You're just like like you did it unconsciously and you're just like [snorts] like grossed out by it. You're like I [clears throat] or you said a phrase or like you looked at something that like they used to like popped up and you're just like even with friendships, right? By the way, when I speak about relationships, they're not all romantic relationships. They can be platonic relationships as well. You know, I pick up things from everyone.
Yes. Yes. That's why I'm like, talk about that. You know, certain songs I can't listen to because of it. O some are good. Yeah. Some might be really good stuff that you've learned, you know, but some of it can also just be like like Yeah. I you know, it just depends. Wait, which anime aku? Now I got Now I got which anime aku? You got to drop it. I picked up so many traits. Started it off by saying little fret like Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Feel like I can't disconnect for me. O dandan o there there's a story time behind that.
I'll be honest with y'all. There is a movie I can't watch.
It's called What is it called? It's the one with Emma Stone and uh Ryan Gosling.
Uh it's the musical one and it's just because it carries such negative like connotations. Yeah. La La Land in the back of my mind and I know it's a good musical that I'm just like anytime I see it I'm like nope insta click off. Nope.
I am good. You know I I'm I don't want to get into like a a space like I am a-ok. Okay, you know, in that regard, [laughter] I don't want to watch a movie because of it. It happened, you know, smells, textures, food, um, songs, anime, games. I mean, I I will never touch The Elder Scrolls Online ever again. I will I I do want to play World of Warcraft at some point in time, you know, like that's something I've never played World of Warcraft, but I want to play World of Warcraft and League of Legends, but I will never touch The Elder Scrolls Online again because of experiences.
trades I am lord too. Yep. Yep. Yep.
Man, we got we we got deep just off of like these little This is what the summer of Hikaru dies does to us. It leads us to story times. It leads us to talking about feelings and and and everything, you know, like thank [laughter] you so much for the follow cake. I appreciate you, my friend. Yes.
like 10 times already.
[screaming] Hey, what that mouth do? Hey, dude.
You're not even eating. You're not even chewing. You're just swallowing the watermelon. What the heck?
No.
Behold. Well, he doesn't even eat the eat the rind. I think that's a big one.
Kirby, that you Kirby. I know.
>> Like, look at it. Look at the tactic.
[groaning] >> Look at the tactic. It's just like eat, swallow, eat, swallow. Nom nom nom nom.
Actually, I This is going to sound bad.
I entered a watermelon eating competition in college. I failed, but I learned that like there are people out there that have phenomenal like eating abilities. Um, yeah, I I I I was I was a little tipsy, not going to lie. My friends hyped me up into, "Oh, Ed, you can do it." And I said, "Just get me some taheen, you know, get me get me a little bit of like that that hot sauce, you know? I'll put it on the watermelon. I'll [ __ ] it up.
Like, I don't care." Now, at this point, I was beyond tipsy, right? I was going through. I'm just like devouring it, you know? And next thing I know, I see the guy next to me, and he's legit like he made his hand into like a knife, right?
and like scooped up all the red part of of the watermelon and then was just like and like one swallow it all and was like sink and was like like chalking it through and like swallowing it and like I'm over here staring at him putting the heat on my watermelon just going to town right [laughter] and I'm like what the [ __ ] like he he like by the time I finished two he was like ate down I was like I was depressed I was scared >> [laughter] >> Like I was shook.
[laughter] Yeah, I'm not kidding. I was barely two down and I was already feeling it right at this point in time. I was like, "Fuck it. Just give me tequila. I'll go through this." Right. But they've just been like like knife watermelon sink on through open hatch. Stop it. And it's like [laughter] I was like like no gag reflex, no nothing. He just swallowed it and was an absolute king at it. And I'm just like, god damn. Yo, Mochi, hello.
I've been watching your videos for a while while really like your analysis.
Even the grues Oh, that's awesome. And your teaching course. Thanks for watching BSD and witch chat. Well, thank you so much. I hope you're enjoying your the analysis and everything in there.
Even the analysis of watermelon eating [laughter] kind of awesome. Yeah, really rain. Oh, >> I think if anything that's the one thing I don't like about watermelon is uh how sticky your hands get. Uh, so please remember to wash your hands uh after you eat a watermelon, you know, or or like especially if you're just eating it like that with Yeah. Yeah.
Oh, nothing to do, huh?
You want to play some Smash?
Why? Why is Actually, yeah. Who do you think Hikaru mains? I think Hikaru is a bit of a cheater. Um I think Hikaru probably mains like watermelon juice is nice. Yeah, actually I I really want tamarindo tamarind juice. I love tamarind juice. Like he's using Pokemon trainer for sure.
Yeah, he's being he's going out there and being the the one with many monsters, right?
Yes.
Sometimes I think of jokes and I have to remind myself I can't say certain things out loud.
Oh.
Oh, again the sunflower shoveling upright.
Those false text. O, that sounds like a metal gear noise when you fall.
But this is a really good showcase of trauma. Let's be straight up about it. A traumatic flashback. Um, if you've ever gone through a traumatic event and stuff, and this is what I hate, dude.
I've had way too many couples, and and I'll share this with y'all without breaking any hip-hop. I've had couples come through where one partner experiences a lot of trauma in their young adulthood or or in childhood, and then partner B, you know, is like, well, why can't they get over it? Why can't they get over it? Anytime we we we try and do any sort of intimacy, they freak out and and you know, all of a sudden like you know like they start like just quickly going into them. It's like do you even understand what trauma is like?
Do you understand flashbacks? Have you like have you talked about going slow consent? Have you talked about the fact that like hey, you know, especially when it comes to intimacy, intimacy is not just sex, you know, intimacy is conversations. Intimacy is getting to know your partner. Intimacy is like it can be non-penetrative. You know, intimacy is 101 layers before even reaching that layer that that you're immediately going into. And it's like, have you talked about triggers? Have you gone to therapy by yourself? Right?
There's so many instances in there that you don't know that triggers can happen out of the blue, out of nowhere, you know, and it can be a whole flashback, a series of events that lead up to it. And I highlight this because whenever we're looking at at the flower shriveling up like this, right, this aspect of memories, it sounds very entitled, Buttery. You would you would be surprised um by the number of individuals that think that just because they're in a relationship, that means that there's automatic consent.
You would be surprised by the number of individuals that like automatically feel entitled that just because they have the label of, you know, partner, boyfriend, girlfriend that like automatically just because, for example, your kissing already means that it's consent for everything else. And it's not. And having to psycho educate people like, hey, consent is sexy. Ask for consent.
You know, you people have gone through a lot of traumatic stuff. You do not want to go ahead and boundary cross like just because Yeah, exactly. It's it could I don't like that. Seen too many horror movies. Yeah. And and it's important to talk about because unfortunately again and I I'm going to highlight it this way. A lot of individuals have gone through some sort of abuse by the age of nine.
A majority of you all have gone through some sort of traumatic event or traumatic stressor by the age of nine.
Majority of y'all have had your boundaries crossed by the age of 14.
These are just common stats. There's been some sort of boundary crossing um done to you in some capacity. Doesn't necessarily have to be in a sexual way.
can be in a physical emotional way by those ages where individuals either a took advantage right of the situation made you feel bad guilt tripped you um so on so forth and it just it it just starts uh capitulating and you know growing in size until a point where it doesn't feel comfortable being around them right I feel like I've encountered people that don't get it with the consent thing but it wasn't necessarily malicious but it wasn't good either and it was kind of on me a little bit so Remy K here's a big thing is consent has to come from both sides at all points in time. And you'll hear me like, you know, specialize with this. Like one of the big things again people like one of the arguments that I've heard is like consent is not sexy. And I'm like that's a lie. I'm like anything can be absolutely amazing and nothing's better than like you and your partner having that trust. Even if it's if it's not like a long-term partner, even if it's a one night stand, having that trust with each other as to what you're going to do and both of you consenting to the actions that you're going to do it is the whole reason why things exist, right? Just because you're making out with someone Exactly. Enthusiastic consent is cool. Just because you're making out with someone doesn't give them consent to continue, right? Uh that that is the key thing there is like there are individuals that jump the gun and think again just because we're in a mood or we're whatnot that they don't need to go ahead and ask or they don't need to you know so and sometimes there's non-verbal consent that can happen right yes or no you know certain things that your body does but being aware of that and being able to read the mood and be able to go and do do things one of the greatest examples that I can showcase as to like what is a good example of someone that's able to go and follow consent and even understands things even when people are denied. Look at um what is it? The Adams uh Gomez.
Look at the way that even when he tries to set up the mood when Morticia says no, he always finds a way to be like be very respectful. That is his queen. And he's like, "Hey, you know what? Maybe another time." Right? Like he finds a Yeah, Gomez is the best. he finds a way to go ahead and keep that uplifting without ever pressuring, without ever doing anything in that regard. Yeah, Gomez Adams is a real one. That's why I highlight it like consent is super important, but traumatic flashbacks is a very real thing that happens, you know, in terms of like being in a car accident, uh se again, sexual abuse, uh any form of being hit in the past, you know, any form of abuse can be highlighted off of instances like this.
So, I hope that that makes sense. I hope that that kind of highlights why sometimes, you know, seeing the flowers die like this and everything come through. It's your mind, you know, having two different thought processes between your logical and emotional brain, you know, Mhm.
Is that a lie?
Is this just another form of manipulation?
Is this just another form? Like I can't lie to you.
Can you not? Who's dictated this?
Well, some of the key things uh in and these are common manipulation tactics, but what some of the the biggest instances out there are when individuals try and make you feel as though yeah, you're special.
Well, Torque, the the interpretation there is that this is an entity. with with Hikaru's thoughts, emotions, experiences, feelings, all of this stuff, right? Which ultimately makes them aware of what lying is and the capacity to lie. Now, yeah, how does Hikaru view lying? Well, how does Hikaru and how do the entity feel lying?
Because that can be a conflict, right?
Because here's my big thing is and and I'm going to throw this out there. Is the summer Hikaru died more so about the entity overriding some of the personality and aspects of Hikaru themselves and ultimately killing him in this manner where Hikaru would actually be truthful and would be very friendly. But if he were to go ahead and try and break off this relationship, Hikaru would no longer act in the way that is Hikaru because ultimately either A you're in my control or B I'm losing you and I don't want to lose you because you clearly mean something to me and my memories of you. Isn't Yeah, exactly. Buttery like and it probably it's probably bothersome that Yoshki isn't seeing Hikaru fully for who he is, you know.
He [ __ ] up that watermelon though.
He didn't even touch his watermelon. No.
There you go.
Yeah, this is propinquity at its finest, but also unwillingness to let go, right?
The only one my age And I guess the the big one is does the entity even have to sleep, chat? Yeah. Does the entity even have to sleep?
Or again, is this just all theatrics to see what Yoshi's Yoshki is going to do?
Is he just pretending for normaly? Yep.
Yep.
Yep. Is he just pretending just to feel normal, right? And fit in, right? Oh, yeah. I'm falling asleep, right? Let's see what you do in this regard.
Oh no.
Oh no. Oh [laughter] no. Oh no. Oh no.
Reading text.
Chat, who are you talking to? You're only supposed to talk to me. Who is that? Huh? Who is that? Who is [laughter] I know the jealous tactics. Yikes.
Yikes. Ah.
Yeah. [snorts] >> And senpai.
>> [crying] >> I'm kind of I'm kind of hungry. I only had a snack.
I'm thinking about may maybe either a making some chicken katsu or b heading up to Denny's. I'm looking at this and I saw like the whole aspect of America and I'm like [gasps] [snorts] [laughter] I I got to do more cooking streams for y'all. I got to do some more cooking streams for y'all.
Oh no.
Oh, speech speech.
But here's the thing though is being able to share a secret with others. It le it allows you the the ability to breathe, right? It allows you the ability to just like let it out. You know, a lot of individuals feel a lot better whenever they're able to go in and talk. This is why talk therapy is so important. And and this is something I'm going to challenge each and every single one of you. Keep a journal. Keep a legitimately keep a journal if you ever want to understand yourself and you know either get like understand your emotions or your dreams or whatever it might be.
Keep a journal and mark whatever emotion or dream you want to understand more of.
Right? If it's like a negative emotion where you get angry and you yell or you suddenly just get very anxious or whatever that may be, keep a journal and jot down whenever you become uh anxious and trust me when I say whenever you start sharing that and you start having conversations with yourself, you start figuring out, hey, there are triggers here that lead up to this. Hey, you don't have to handle this alone. Turns out it's not a big complicated knot like you think. It's a lot simpler than you're able to go out and and and you know take down, right? You tend to write down notes a lot. Yeah. And sometimes there's themes in it. It is super important that you like number one, talk to a support network, talk to some friends, uh write stuff down, do some sort of art to help you out, you know, but don't punish yourself.
Fore!
Fore!chch!
[ __ ] Yeah.
I would be too. Yeah.
I guess for you guys, and this is a big one, right? Is how do you just get up and move when your job is there, when your kids are there, when grandma, grandpa's there, when people that you love and take care of are all there? It can be one hell of a to try and move. Like, it can be so difficult, so difficult to get up and and move. Like, I My heart breaks at at the thought of like them being captured there and them not knowing fully what to do.
Oh, it wasn't her and rain coming down. Making it foroding mountain.
The American Mega Deluxe Mountain President Parfait. We all know. Look at the Look at the glazed donuts. Look at them glazed donuts. We all know what this means, right? A little bit of a of a cherry on top of it. [laughter] How much How much does this cost?
[laughter] Oh god, this looks amazing. But how much does it big and beautiful? [laughter] Oh.
M.
>> Oh. Oh.
Oh, what Here's the thing. You're creating distance in a way that's going to come off as suspicious. And the thing with toxic partners in a situation like this, especially when they've been garnering control, is they don't want to release that control. So, what do you think is going to happen? They're more than likely a going to wait for you, b going to try and limit or control you in some capacity or c extremely toxic is don't control the narrative that ultimately you end up needing them. That's sort of the cycle of abuse that sometimes very toxic, jealous partners can get into.
And you got to be very careful and you got to set up your boundaries quickly as to what is okay and what is not okay.
And in a situ Yeah. Lash out in a situation like this.
Oh, an impurity.
Mine is coming. Mine is coming. Mine is coming. Mine is coming. Mine is coming.
Mine is coming. Mine is coming.
She in a mood today. [laughter] >> [laughter] >> And here's where the switch happens. I love this show. the the drama in here, chat. Oh my goodness. Right. Like, is it my fault? Like, let's have a conversation about it right here, right now. Right. Like, where is this coming from? Oh, you don't want to come through? Why is it the person that you want to go have a conversation with?
Oh no, dude. Oh no, dude.
Oh no, dude.
foreign.
Oh no, dude. Oh.
[music] Oh. Oh.
Oh no.
Oh my god, dude.
The guilt trapping.
[music] It's so good. It is so good. God, I need to I need to pause it there cuz Oh my god, dude. Oh my god. Not only that, tactics.
Let's talk about it, right? Tactics. The tactics.
Even if they're confused, we got to talk about it. Oh, dear. Dear, this hurts.
Tactics.
What tactics were coming out at every post, every milestone, there was a tactic that was being used?
Yes.
Yeah. Even un manipulation is manipulation even if it's unintentional, right?
Because even though you're confused in your emotions, you have to remember you're pinging at at an at a high frequency. You're pinging at a high frequency. Manipulation in of itself is not a bad thing. We all do it. in some capacity, right? But for it being an entity at a high level, right? If he's processing the world around him, how would it feel to be rejected as a person you feel like you are? Yes. Well, that right. But also, if you are an entity of a higher dimension, higher being, and you're in here, which ones are your true feelings and which ones are not? And which one how at what point does it start going into targeting insecurities into aspects of like uh trying to go ahead and maintain some sort of control inside of the relationship? even by saying like you know oh but you don't love me like I I but I care about you right and I'm getting very emotional about things be [laughter] and and how how hard is it to communicate what is actually going on when both states are already at an emotional level. So you have different tactics, different elements. There was an element where it was evoking fear. There was an element where you can tell that like they were processing stuff. He grabbed them and it was an aspect to evoke fear. Right.
Evoking fear just because of what of the nature. But then right right it's like how do people come through? He gripped his arm so hard and Yoshki said, "Oh yeah, yeah." Have a framework to process uh feelings like this. Well, I mean considering that a higher being already understands um human logic, emotions, and whatnot even prior to Hikaru as stated by them in episode one. um they've seen how people change and they've been a thousand and one other things. Isn't it interesting that like now that they're here and it could be a mix, right? It could also be a mix which highlights the element of is Hikaru still in there if that's the case or their emotions or overpowering them. And if that's the case, that's an internal battle uh inside of him, you know, but when we're looking at this, it's this is a rejection of the entity when the entity has been rejected by society as a whole. Sorry, we're going deep into this because guess what?
It happens more than you think. Even without the entity, there are so many individuals, so many relationships out there where you'll see tactics like this come through. Means by you're my first.
Yeah. There's so many tactics and individuals when a relationship is dissolving where you'll see situations like this. Well, it it'll go from like one emotion to another emotion to another emotion to another emotion to another emotion. Uh and and it's again, it's not knowing fully 100% what you're doing because it's just uh emotional tactics that happen, right? Because out of an aspect of self-preservation, ego, self, whatever it may be.
>> Yeah, exactly. It doesn't have to be intentional, you know.
It could be just self-preservation >> evoking fear.
>> I need you, Yoshki. Can't function without you, >> baby. I need you, baby. I can't be in this world without you, my love. Can't you tell that I need you? Cuz you're My birds.
[music] [gasps and laughter] Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
If I can't have you, no one else can. Oh god.
Oh, I could go Was that abuse chat?
Straight up. Was that sexual abuse right there and then?
Yeah. Yeah. 100%.
100%. Here's the thing. It It's nonconsentual, right? Forcing yourself onto someone, that is sexual abuse.
Sexual abuse does not necessarily have to be with a person's genitalia or pen or well in this case you could be you could say that it's you know penetrative in that aspect because it that thing was starting to go inside of them right and they made a clear comment about it. So what was the comment what was the comment he made to I feel something coming inside me I feel something flowing inside me right could be sexual assault. Yep. Yep.
That's still sexual abuse. That's harassment. That's still sexual assault.
All falling under the same umbrella.
It still is. Exactly. Exactly.
Now, now that we've had an incident, actually, we've had two incidents. What was the other one, chat?
And since it's red, when it's blue, it doesn't mean it's red. Yeah. Exactly.
Exactly. Exactly. It didn't feel like either of them had control in that scene. That don't matter if either of them don't have control. The moment that you start pushing yourself onto somebody else, that is assault. That is abuse.
The moment that you start, for example, if I if I start shoving my finger down someone's uh mouth or throat or, you know, anything like that, that is assault. I'm assaulting them, you know, in that capacity. The arm thing.
And guess what? It follows this cycle.
Tensions build. The abuser creates tension and survivor stress builds. The abuser lashes out through physical, verbal, psychological, or sexual abuse tactics. Any form to dominate the survivor. The abuser makes excuses or attempts to apologize for the incident.
Gaslighting. Nothing happened. Let's move on from this. Oh, it was too much, right? Let's just laugh it off. Things seem peaceful and then the cycle continues. Unless it's broken.
This is this is one of the the key aspects that is highlighted for DV victims, domestic violence victims.
You know, so I I highlight this and I know some individuals might actually be pretty heated about this, but take take this into consideration.
A young teenager comes to you and tells you exactly this scenario.
What do you do?
A young teenager comes through and tells you this scenario. What do you do?
Do you brush it off or do you actually go through and call the cops? I always thought it Yeah.
Yeah.
It's It's a very It would sound really serious.
Exactly. Exactly. Which again for me it's like the entity going that far and losing control already highlights highlights huge. You know, it's fine to interpret it that way. I mean, you can interpret it however you want to interpret it, right?
Here you go. Sexual assault versus sexual abuse. Sexual assault, sudden single, distinct incident. Sexual abuse prolonged, repetitive over time, shame, guilt, dysregulation, confusion, stuff that keeps happening, right?
Pervasive structural dis dissociation, coping mechanisms tend to be fragmented.
The trauma becomes integral into a person's self. Boundary issues, difficult trusting, seeking safety from others. So for like I I think that's that's the main element. I I highlight this because again this isn't the the first time that we've seen something like this overstep.
But it's interesting that the entity is like really like losing control.
I'm in this short and I don't like it.
>> [music] [screaming] [music] [music] >> Oh my skill.
Oh, >> gross. This is nasty.
>> And this is a big one, right? And and unfortunately got spilled literally and unfortunately it's happening here, right?
>> A lot of individuals that go through some sort of abuse, right?
um and and and especially sexual abuse.
Can do you guys know what the one thing that often there's a lot of guilt and a lot of stuff associated with it is? Do you guys know want to take a real big big stab in the dark at one of the big elements that like you often have to talk over and you know talk about in instances like this.
Thinking it's your fault is one big one.
Yeah, that's huge. Zombain, you're hitting it right right on the dot, right? They know it's like they they're like, it's such a disgusting thing that that happened, right? But they were they were like, you know, their body reacts a certain way and they can feel like they enjoy it at times. This is exactly what is happening here, dude. It's disgusting, right? Look at the train thought process that's happening. That is exactly the lines. And I've heard this like play by play from individuals that have been assaulted, feeling like your body is betraying you, right? Yep. Yep.
>> And and and it highlights all because it feels good. Therefore, it must not it must have not have been assault. Like there are individuals like that struggle on an everyday basis because of of scenarios like this, right? Because of situations like this where their body often times feels a certain way but emotionally, psychologically they're extremely scared, right?
And so they're like because it felt good, it must not have been this horrible thing, but it was that horrible thing.
What's it doing?
A fond response. Yeah.
[snorts] >> [snorts] >> Oh, this anime is [ __ ] great.
right?
Oh, you like a kid.
So Ivonce with that one of the key elements that I'll highlight is that it's that's already been showcased beforehand right that was showcased in episode one or episode two. So you know the anime it like in of itself storytelling wise uh episode 1 episode 2 had already showcased that there was that distance of like whoa what is happening here especially with the aspects of like you know society as a whole being homophobic right you're in a rural town there's all of the like there's all of those elements that were happening uh and and and in this one in particular was significantly at least in my perspective a lot more towards the instance of boundary violation and assault right? Uh along with instances of like you know whatever is happening there which is like it it just solidifies instances of like number one you know sometimes in in relationships they're not always black and white and sometimes they there there could be elements that make you go oh my god what is going on right but at the same time in anime and let's be straight up about it there are there are too few anime that actually want to tackle themes like this. There are way too uh there are way too many few animes that that are wanting to go ahead and talk about themes like this and talk about themes about like, you know, highlight instances of what assault can look like, you know, in that element.
Internalized homophobia and feeling bad about wanting Hikaru. That was episode one. Episode two, take a look back into it. But it's also assault 100%. It's assault.
Exactly.
Exactly. Well, I and and at times like what it feels like is like let's cover up this this really huge element that's happening in here with this other one when it's like no it's showcasing all of these things combined and it's like here's a platter of all this the this aspect that that's going on right for 100%. Yeah.
That's huge, dude. Like [groaning] I may feel guilt.
Oh, such.
Oh. Speech. Speech. Speech.
Oh, these attachment issues the entity has.
disorganized attachment at its finest.
>> Well, that's uh very I can fix it. Yeah, it's so unhealthy. It is so unhealthy. It it is so unhealthy, you know, as [laughter] now I'm kind of scared. I'll be honest with you. Now I'm kind of scared as to what the next outburst might look like because it's following this aspect. Low key, I can fix a moment. It's following the cycle of of Yeah. How do we even know that the apology is?
And the sunflower dies. And the sunflowers die, chat.
Wow. Oh, and the sunflowers die.
[sighs and snorts] Hold on. Hold on. Yeah, exactly. There's so much uh to analyze and to talk about with the with the symbolism in there, right? Yeah. The the sunflowers die, but it's it's oof oof. There's a lot to it. and and okay using threats using intimidation uh seeing someone's uh cell phone email pro using standing physical violence ex you know there's so many elements in here that you you touch on and yeah controlling what so yeah trying to control what someone does where where she he goes you know take a look into all of this and all of a sudden you have a classic tale of a very very abusive relationship.
Um, you know, in which someone's trying to hold all the power and control inside of that relationship and amplify it, right? And and we've Yeah. And amplify it. Look at a lot of these elements and you're just like, "Oh, oh, you know, oh, that's a lot. That is a lot." And this is only like a small iceberg of everything that that that is being highlighted. A lot of these have happened. Yeah. A lot of these have happened and and even then right still representing caru due to their connection to light. What is the like the the entity is showing more of a fearful anxious relationship right? It's very disorganized very ambiguous and and it's how it switches. Do you think will keep his promise that he won't do it again? Probably not. A quiet kid.
Probably not. We're probably going to see at some point in time Hikaru um Hikaru fall back into a pattern, you know, or do it again accidentally. It's already happened once before. It's already happened like, you know, and the boundary crossing violation with the hand being inside of him, you know, um overstepping in that one, you know, that that's a big element, you know. So, take away the entity element of things just for a second here, right?
take away the entity element just for a second here. Then we'll put the entity element back in.
If the entity element is away, are his do I still ship them? No. At this point, they like they need therapists. They need they need help. They need a lot of mental health help to before even starting a relationship, before even finding love. If you want me to be honest with y'all. Like at this point in time, it is a very toxic can be even codependent relationship where one of them knows that they don't want their friend to pass away and the other one knows that they can, you know, that they don't want to be left alone, you know, doesn't know how to how to human well enough to keep his promise. Yeah. That's what makes this interesting though, and I think this is something worth highlighting is not all anime has to be happy anime. Happy go-lucky, extreme positive relationships, cuz that's not real life. You know, straight up about it, that is not real life.
Unfortunately, not all relationships are happy golucky. Um, all of this stuff is there are some very, very toxic, dysfunctioning relationships out there that unfortunately rely on elements like this, right? No, they need individual counselors. net lux like Yoshki needs a grief counselor first and foremost before even going into a couple's counseling or anything like that. Yoshki needs a grief counselor to be able to like process the the the grief of of his friend passing away. Um you know so much an experience between them. Both of them not knowing what boundaries are and how to set them, let alone how to respect them uh in that regard. Yeah. Yeah.
before even attempting to find out what love is. It's like you need to figure out, you know, yourself first and and identity and, you know, who you are and take time to process grief and how to be human and all of these elements. Those are so absolute key. And with that being said, I I want you all to be acutely aware. I'm not saying that there ain't no uh internalized aspects of homophobia being because there is. And I highlighted that in episode one and episode two. But the bigger theme that like for me at play here with all of the rest of the stuff that we've talked about was the assault.
And you could see it a different way, but for me as a as a mental health professional looking on in, it's like, okay, what is at the forefront? Assault, right? That is a that as a mandated reporter, I would have had to reported that immediately, you know, and then you can start picking apart the aspects of like, well, you know, there's instances of homophobia, there's instances of rejection due to societal standards. you start digging in after like after the fact. But the main element being showcased is that you know they can share any of this with the therapist though even if there was one in town. They probably can't bleak. But e even if you go in, trust me when I say I've had people come in and tell me that there's a demon that's possessing them and whatnot, you still take the story for what the story is and you focus in on them as the individual, not necessarily the superstition elements of things, right? And what does that mean for you? And how do you establish this?
Right? Because at the end of the day, we as humans fall into behavioral patterns.
Right? So regardless of what an entity or a demon or whatever else might be out there, if you focus in on the individual and the behavioral patterns that the individual's present and focus on the things that they can control, you're able to go ahead and help them start the process of healing, right? Would you recommend they seek? Yeah. Yeah.
Individual therapy comes first, no matter what. Like the individual sessions need to come first before couple sessions. They both need to be they both need to be at healthy elements be or healthier elements before even starting couples therapy, you know.
Also, Hikaro has to figure out his identity. Yeah, that's a big one as well is Hikaro needs to figure out his identity as well, you know.
Damn. That's what I'm saying. There's a lot to talk about. There's a lot to analyze inside of this. Uh, but I hope that all of you have enjoyed this so far. Um, let me know what if what you guys have thought about episode number three. Uh, you know who like who he is outside of the shelf. Hikaro. Yeah. What what they genuinely like, you know, saying that entity possessed him and making him fall in love with another boy. Yeah. I thought this is great. This is getting this is getting us to talk about a lot of things uh in a lot of aspects that people might not necessarily be a thousand% like uh you know comfortable with but it still still allows for that conversation to happen which makes it all worth it in my regard. Tomorrow we'll continue on with episode number four of the summer Hikaru dies. And I'll be honest, I'm kind of scared. Could be to ever get could ever be together if they both get to a healthy space. Like they need to There's such a power imbalance though that it it's going to be really really difficult. You know, it's such a layered episode. It is. It is. There's a lot of scary things happening here. Absolutely. All right, everyone. With that being said, have a great night. Be safe. Practice some self-care. And heck, is it tomorrow yet?
Oof. Oof.
Oof. Y'all are phenomenal. Practice some self-care. I'll see y'all later. Bye VOD watchers.
