I don’t know what to expect on this sheep check…Added:
warm with that big radiator in here and you know it's bad weather. You know you're in the middle of lmen when you go into the boot room or you've got one at your feet in there and you've got another one sitting down here trying to trying to get them warmed up. They've came out of this box over here. You see the bottle sitting trying to get them warmed up. Right, pal. You head back in there. That's it. I I can't believe that's alive. Cannot cannot believe that's alive. So, um, thankfully two of them that we didn't think were going to make it have made it. And it looks like they've, uh, they're going to be absolutely fine. But I don't know what this sheep check is going to throw. Um, here when we're going to, we're going to go and have a we look and see what's going on down in the field. If you missed our live earlier on, we've just had Oh, no. Why is my car driving about?
Does this mean the girls are up?
Wait a second.
Ah, she's just getting the girls back to sleep. Um, we've just had the worst worst uh day just weather today. It's been blowing a gale thrown down so much rain and the rivers are about to burst their banks. The the streams or drains or the ditches down here are about to burst their banks as well and flood those fields. The fields where the lambs and the sheep are are water logged. The lambs have been soaking completely covered in mud. It's been totally miserable. We had those two at the start of the live there. Um were frozen frozen and needing a good feed.
So, we've got that sorted. I'm just going to go up here and get the meal if Joe's not already got it.
Um so, they're needing a good feed and getting a warm up. I thought they were both goners. They'd head right back in the I'm not making it position, just ready to pass away. But we've miraculously revived them. And they are okay. At the moment, our pet pen is growing arms and legs. Um, and that's not unusual this time of year, you know, as they start heading out into the There you go. Look, there's another one. There's another one. There's another one in the box. Um yeah, it's not unusual as they start going out into the field and the mums maybe don't have enough milk or they reject them or they get lost and missothered. You have to bring them back in. So it's just part and parcel of it.
Look at these pair in their seesaw playing away.
But it's doesn't make it any easier.
Look at Claire just driving round and round in the car park trying to get Marne back over.
We're in the packing center tonight.
We're trying to get everything ready for spring launch. Um and get a we had a whole load of merch in.
Came in and we're trying to get orders done and the whole place is completely coming in with boxes. It's chaos. We're trying to get orders out. It's really not easy. Really not easy. And there's obviously the girls. We need to have the girls with us. So they're in the back of the car sleeping just now.
You know, m >> um there's a couple of we pets down in the pet pen looking kind of hungry.
>> Okay, I'll be down there.
>> Um if this wind would stop howling doing my head in a fixation for this >> me I'm obsessed by it. I can't stand it any longer. Can't stand it any longer.
Thankfully Matt's here and can look after all of these.
Yeah, lots of cuddles. Yeah. Um, and he can look after all these and keep an eye on them because we would be working like every single hour under the sun here.
Wouldn't get a I mean, we're kind of are already. No, leave that on, Joe. Just in case.
>> Right. Well, leave it off then.
Whatever. It's too windy for me to bo be bothered.
>> Why are you taking that?
>> Just in case we need to bring something else back.
But >> it's fine. I just Look at this nice clean windscreen.
Uh so yeah, let's go and see what we've got in the sheep check before it gets dark. We're trying to leave it as long as possible so that um I hope it doesn't come and bite us so that we could give them the latest check as we can. Now across the road, all the fields are full of sheep and lambs. So really in the beginning of or the middle of April, you're thinking, well, we should be having nice spring days. This time last year, you're 20 odd degrees looking great. Green conditions, fantastic grass everywhere. Uh, not in the hery field.
Yeah, you can't drive down there anyway, Joe.
It's flooded. Look, and everything looked fantastic, but this year is just a polar opposite. But we're heading for the we're heading back towards our 2024 days where 2024 was just horrendous weather and we're not far off that again. So, we're just going to need to keep muddling through and seeing seeing if we can get to the weekend when the weather's supposed to break again. But, it's just a struggle. A struggle. See how much water's even lying down here on the road.
Wipe this or wipe this window so you can get so you can get a view. Oh, hey, hold on a minute. We've actually got washer fluid in there.
Look at that.
Um, just shut that gate. Okay. Yeah. So, I don't know what to expect when we go down here. Um, I don't know if we're going to have mismthered lambs. I imagine we will. Uh, I don't know what else we're going to have. I don't know if we're going to have lambs lying in the corner exhausted. I don't know if we're going to have losses. We'll just have to wait and see. Thankfully, it's not raining. And the wind has kind of died down a wee bit.
So, that's going to help the lambs. Just give them a chance to recover. They just need a minute to recover and they're just not getting it.
They're not getting that time to just kind of get a good belly full and sit and relax and rest. They're constantly fighting for survival all the time.
And we're actually we're going to end up we're going through a sheep races here, but we're going to end up running out of dry ground to put anything like anything at all.
We're going to run out of dry ground.
Real con. It's a real concern. It is. We need a good We need a good couple of weeks of dry. Get everything dried right out. There's some lambs jumping and playing, which is a really good sign.
Earlier on, we had to actually move them from there. I'm having dja vu. I've been here before. That's weird.
We have to we had to actually move them from their field um the other side of this banking. It's just too wet into this hery field. Um, and to be honest, it's not it's not the most ideal move because there's an unfenced bank in at the back. We will fence it in the summer, but there's an unfin at the back that we didn't want to put the lambs on just in case he fell into the burn, but it's kind of so desperate that now we're going to have to just hope that they don't go into the burn.
And if we have a one or two losses, then it's better than having 20 or 30 in that really really wet field. So it is like a markable remarkable difference between this field and the field just other side of that burn about how dry this actually is in here. You can still see the puddles, but it's only an isolated areas. So we're looking for labs that are along the fence line. We're looking for isolated lambs. Lambs that are running around bleeting, not really knowing what to do, where mom is, not able to get a feed or a soup, and then we can sort them from there, try and get to find their moms. We're also looking for lambs that are punched right up and looking very hungry. And we can get Matt, take them up to Matt. He can work away at them, try and sort them out.
So, we're just going to check the edges of the field before we go into the center because the edges are kind of where um it's where you'd expect them to cower up and to uh and to be to be hiding away if they're not feeling right.
Few units down here. It's actually looking a lot more positive now we've got them moved and see them running about with mums here. One on each side or one by our side. It's looking well.
Looking a lot better. I think this banking might although it could it could be a bad thing, it might also be a good thing because they can get in here and cower behind it. Get a little bit of cover.
See what's going See, just like this.
See, just like that.
See, your mum's got them in here.
Cleverly put them in here quite happy and and sheltered out of the way. Um, but this is just a worry that they fall down there and hopefully they won't.
Hopefully they'll be fine. There's another field just across the ditch that is so much drier. You see all the mums quite happy and babies running about.
You can see there's nothing along this side. So, they're easy to check and they're running around quite happy. So, it's the ground conditions. It's the ground conditions. To be honest, earlier on as a beating man, I was like, I just can't see our way out of this. Hello, E pal. What are you? What number are you?
What are you? Oh, G.
So, we're all right there, I think. I'm expecting quite a few to be missed.
There's this we guy here just getting belted by the wind.
Let's have a look. You okay, Me, man?
Let's have a look at you. What number are you?
Number one. What's that belly like?
We're checking their bellies just to see how full they are and see where the mums would be in relation to where they are.
Um, and again just looking for ones who are mismthered like that one. I don't think that knows where it m is. So good to find lamb sheep number one. Come on pal, you come with me and we'll have a we look and see where see where mama is.
This is a lot better than what was before. Just getting a bit of dry ground just made all that difference. They even got cleaned off. See when we moved them into this pen, they were soaking wet.
And I mean drenched wet. covered in mud and I was like, "Oh, this is just a this is a this is going to be a disaster here. It's going to be a massacre." But thankfully kind of swap thing. Watch where you're going. Whoa.
Look at them go. Yeah, number one's lost for sure.
Just keep them going off here. Kind of want them off the banking just so I can see where they are here. Um, make sure everyone's got caught back up.
This was one of these warbles. this brown and white one here uh that got mismthered earlier on. I actually think it was 13. It was actually her. But one of those lambs was lost. Couldn't find mom in the in the field we had them before. And I put them into I went and gathered it up. It was actually lying in a puddle.
Fully in a puddle. And I was like, "This is just awful. This is just awful."
Joe's just heading along there. Just You can see the light fading on the camera now. I need to find number one. It's no idea where we are.
And cuz it's a number, mom is only a it's only a single. No, it's not. It's a It's a twin. If it's got a number, if it's a letter, it's a single not either, pal.
Right. Number one.
We got him. We got him. Who's this? We guy here. Hi pal.
>> What you saying? What number are you with your little rain jacket on?
That's exactly what I'm talking about.
And I'd rather get this rather come down here and see where we are.
I know you're looking, aren't you?
You're looking.
It's be heavy rain through the night, but thankfully only I think for around an hour between like midnight and 11:00 and then tomorrow's to be an all right day. So can still see look see how wet it is in patches, right?
We're probably looking for what's your mom tel number one. Mom, reveal yourselves.
There's number five. There's number three.
Joe's just trying to get something mred up here. I think number one.
And where's the we guy in the Mac? Where did the we guy in the You can hear that wind probably on the on the camera there. Right. There's nothing more satisfied if I can get these remathered again. Definitely one.
Bear with me if you hear that wind.
Can't do anything about at the moment.
>> Need number one.
>> Did you Oh, there's one. Lost earlier, but I thought it was number 13.
>> Oh, it's heavy. That lab is >> number one. Did you get it back?
Motherred, right? There's one with a wee mac on over here that I don't think's mother.
>> Hey, >> everyone else is >> No.
>> Yeah, I don't think she's over there.
Well, you go that way. I'll check this bank.
>> Lam's playing around about here. But what you're actually wanting that we we got them mother up as best as we could.
We ran them all about 500 m from their other field, the wet one, into here. Now, that's a mission because they're obviously going to get lost. Of course, they are.
It's these we mit here that always worry me. What color are you? What number are you?
>> 12. Oh, you're your mom was a nightmare to me earlier on.
>> Goodness.
6123.
So yeah, you're we're trying to get them all motherthered up and because we'd moved them, it was just a big mix up.
Just a total jumble.
Um, but what you're better doing sometimes leaving them for half an hour, letting everything settle down, let the individual lambs shout to the individual mums, and they all come and mother up with each other. Anyway, there's that.
That's 23 there. There's mom there. Come on. Shout. Shout. Lammy. Shout.
Come on.
They're all the way playing. So they have They must have seen mom. They must have seen mom at some stage. There.
They're shouting on each other there.
They're brainy dangerous.
Who are you? We guy. Who's this? We guy.
Who are you, sir?
49.
They look full enough, you know. I just worry if they've not got their mom there to cower into and that weather sets in, it's going to be a bit of a disaster. Let's do her fine.
73. Mom's over there, pal. Mom's over there. I think that's a seven on her on our side, not a two. There's shouting.
Look, watch this one here. And mom over there. Look, they're shouting to each other. Watch you. Watch.
Watch the post.
Isn't that amazing?
Isn't that amazing how they know each other's cry and who they're trying to find? Brilliant, isn't it?
But that means that guy, what number was he again?
Is lost.
Still not found. 23.
26.
Heck.
Come on, man.
Number you, pal.
48.
This is a mission.
This is an absolute mission. They must have found their moms by now. Surely by some point.
I've not seen number one yet either. Did you find number one?
She must be a way down here then, right?
Hey, Right. We could do a 231 I think 48.
I hear the lamb shouting in the background.
Keep an eye. No lambs lying, which is good. You would think by this point, you know, we're a good five hours since we moved them roughly.
There she is. There's another one.
That's her.
Wave it, Joe.
He's seen us.
There she is.
Totally miss mother, doesn't it?
Great news. In for a sec. That's what we need to see.
>> Right.
If they're if they're any sort of miserable now, we can't find mom. We just have to bring them back up. I think we'll bring them back down first thing in the morning.
about.
That's a we toy one there.
>> Oh, yeah. Yeah.
I think she's got her two and that's a we spin off there.
>> I couldn't I think that's >> 61.
61. We could do a catch. See if we can get We can use that banking to our advantage.
Get we 61. Use the banking.
You go the other way. Big guy in the rain. Go.
Need this. Need the blooming dog here.
Glenn can catch them. Right 61.
961. Right 61. Right 61.
Don't let go, Joe. Don't let go. Don't let go.
Right. Leave them. Mom's over there for that one.
It's fine.
>> That's not possible.
>> I know. That's the thing. Like to which degree are they lost, you know?
>> 61.
>> Ah, we'll find her.
We can do this.
They're looking a lot better than earlier. Pleasure.
As soon as you go on a bit of dry ground, They've obviously bounced back. Me neither. I thought, you know, I thought we're going to end up with picking lambs up out of the field here.
>> 61.
Yeah, I know, pal.
Where?
>> I don't think she's on there.
What's that over there? No, it's 70 something as well.
What's that?
98. It's got a we alarm. It's missing a lamp. Look. 98. It's missing alarm.
They have to be blue tles.
They're tiny, but they're we barrels.
Where are you?
>> Who are you?
Okay, everyone else quite happy on there now. She's not there, Joe.
>> You ready?
>> She's not on there.
Susie, thanks for the super chat. Thanks for all the stars coming through as well, everyone. V61 and find you.
It's really okay.
I mean, you could keep going forever, couldn't you? Oh, yeah. You could keep going forever and ever. 693.
Our bag. It's massive.
Come on.
>> Surely round about here. That's a long way away. Joe, that's not It's not an eight, is it? Is it definitely a six? Is it definitely a six? Cuz there's 81.
>> Definitely a six.
Oh.
There.
There. What number is that now? There's a 68 that I was watching earlier on. 68.
I don't know what her number is, but I was watching her two lambs. They looked starving earlier. I actually had them in the trailer. If that is her, they will need to come back up.
Or 86. Ah, maybe it was 86.
68. I'm saying maybe it was 86 cuz look how hungry they look. And I don't think she's got a lot of milk.
I think we might have to bring her up cuz look, see the lambs are trying to get in at the back. They're trying to get in. They're all hunched up and all hungry.
Right, we haven't found 61 yet.
64.
89.
No, none of them. green going to lose light here. 86 86 is the ones.
Why is there adverts every five minutes during live? Well, here we go. I've seen a lot of people asking about this. We're having a nightmare of Facebook payments.
They're updating payment information or like the way that ads are paid out and stuff to us like the content creators and half of the videos that we putting on we aren't getting any money for all of a sudden. spoke to hoof GP Graham today what number are you 68 and he said exactly the same things happening to him so there's something going on with the ads and payments and things on Facebook is a mess at the minute so it's probably a glitch so just bear with it you find your lamb she's quite coffee.
Uh just bear with it cuz the chances are that it'll disappear and you'll not you'll not see them again. Uh cuz this is news to me. We don't control any of that at all. It's interesting that that's happening.
>> Anything back end, >> right? Okay. Do you want to head back up there? I'll check please.
She must be back up there. Put her back up in the banking and it'll not be far away. It has to be. It's not down here.
It's quite far away. Joe's checked all these ones. So, yeah, I think that's what's happening. It's a bit of a mess if I'm being totally honest.
It's a bit of a mess.
Got to lose light here.
Got to lose some light.
What number are we looking for again? Is it 61? I think it was 73. I seen her down there. So, that'll find it. Okay. Oh, that's windy, man.
That's windy.
I think if Joe sits just where Joe's going, I think if he sets that wheel on there, it'll find his mom.
61 he said, wasn't it? And we caught it around about here. So if any of these sheep need to hurry up, otherwise we're going to be out here totally in the dark.
She must be here somewhere because there would be two. There would be, you know, there's two lambs there cuz it's a number. So must be a set of twins. So if you're not familiar, the twins are numbered.
Who are you, pal?
seems happy enough at the minute.
>> That's that we one that we were saying earlier on is running about that month.
You find it round about here. So tell us it is round about here somewhere.
It's a mission.
really is.
You start going crazy and like, "Oh, there isn't a 61. Then there isn't a 61.
Of course there is. There must be somewhere.
Has to be somewhere."
There's number one that we we mtheredthered up earlier.
Come on.
Number Why can we not find the sheep? Why can we not find it? It shouldn't be difficult.
Like, she should just emerge.
So frustrating.
>> Has his belly full, Joe? Is his belly full?
>> So, how can his mom not be there then?
>> Unless it's been stealing a a souk off someone else.
>> What do we have to take up just now? She's going to lost it either way.
Take up just now and get a The only one is that other one that was missed. It's like 98 or something. But I can't I've not seen 98. So she's run about with another mom just now. So be able to steal a souk for the next seven or eight hours until we get we can come back down in the morning.
>> Let's go one final round. We're out of light now.
>> Let's go one final look round. Yeah, we're out of light. see if we can see 61. And then if not, we'll put in the back the mule and we'll head off.
Even another lamp should be there. You know, there should be another 61 lamb even if we looked at the lamps, but not seen them.
I don't know what that is. She's a twin.
Oh, 73. I seen 73 running away earlier on.
Have you seen them? Have you seen them running about? Then she'll be They'll find each other again.
>> There. 61 there. Uh, is that 64? There's a 61 61 must be 64 97.
Let's background one more time. We'll use the lights and then we'll call it a day. Want to be beat here.
Surely. Surely she surely she does.
Anyone with one mom is looking for as well. She's just one. She's blue.
That's a blue there.
She's got her two.
What's think?
>> Who's that?
>> Yeah.
>> That's 86. That's the one I seen earlier on. Run about.
That's the one that were running about earlier on. Jones, you look like >> that one could go in the back of the mule Joe cuz she's got no milk.
Good catch, Ben. What a catch.
Those 86s are useless. Starving. Feel his belly. There's nothing in his belly.
>> Nothing in his belly. We need other one there.
That's other one right there.
Unfortunately, we're just going to have to lift them now cuz they'll not survive the night.
See how poor it looks?
What number is there? 86. Yeah, that's the other one there.
The babies are just so so hungry. She mustn't have any milk.
>> And it was 68 was the other one that I was looking at.
Like that looks a poorly little lamp.
Joe, get on that fence. We'll get that one. That's his twin there.
Yeah.
>> Bailey's just empty.
>> Yeah. Bailey's empty.
>> Joe, feel that belly. She could leave with one.
>> You think that's empty as well?
>> Not as empty.
>> It's not as empty as snow.
Certainly not full. We'll have to just She's going to shout for them a bit, but she's not got any milk. So, either they head us out here tonight or we have to take them off at the moment.
71. So close. 60. So close. We're getting closer. Just merge the two together. We'll be fine.
91. I think that is we can do this. Come on. Surely we're getting it. It's actually easier in the dark. Wait, let's split numbers.
Wait.
60.
No, none of them. Joe, go on to this main group in the middle.
Nightmare.
Hey, over here, Joe. These ones here.
It's actually easier in the dark cuz they're standing still a little bit more. No.
Oh, oh, oh.
Sir, thanks.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Where are you, darling?
68 61. Come here. We found you, Mom.
That's you.
Hey. Hey. We done it. Excellent.
We done it.
Great news. Right. Mom recovering from her dermatitis. She see she not walking back as bad as she was.
Definitely recovering. Okay. Right. Good job. 268s are the only ones that we had cuz they were looking pretty poor. But yes, we did. We got her.
She was there somewhere. We weren't far away. And it was Miss She's away over here. I'm getting a sick leg. Quite happy. Okay. Up to the up to the farm.
Everyone pretty good lamp check to be honest. Um, I think you could uh you could have maybe went about for another one or two. I think there's a 98 that we need to keep an eye on and the two 68s in the morning. But apart from that, we're not far away. So, that was a pretty good lamb check. I'm happy with that. And we're back up to the farm.
We'll take these two 86s back. They look hungry. We can sort them in the morning.
So, good job done. Thanks for joining us, everyone. Um, and that was pretty stressful, but overall overall it was a pretty good check. And uh it was a pretty good check and it was way less disastrous as what I thought it was going to be. Thanks for joining us everyone. We'll catch you all tomorrow.
Bless me. So sorry. We'll catch you all tomorrow on the next one. Bye guys.
