Avengers Endgame Re-Release Detailed by Director

[00:00:00]One way to make sure that people see a re-release of a film is to include new footage. Now, what if this footage is crucial and important to Avengers Doomsday? And it's in Disney's new premium format. Well, that's exactly what was confirmed by the director of Endgame and Doomsday. Avengers re-release will be important.

[00:00:22]>> [music] >> Marvel Studios and Disney are bringing us a re-release of Avengers Endgame in their new premium format, aka Infinity Vision. This is meant to be a IMAX style competitor. And they are going all out for their first release, which of course is Avengers Doomsday, but we get a little bit of a prep for that with Avengers Endgame. So, Joe Russo, one of the directors of Avengers Doomsday, but also co-director of Avengers Endgame, has confirmed that brand new footage that ties the story of Avengers Endgame to the story of Avengers Doomsday will be included in the re-release.

[00:01:10]And he specifically told Deadline that they are doing this because they are creating what they are calling a creative bridge between the two films that will then, if you see Endgame with this re-release, and watch Avengers Doomsday after it, give you a more cohesive understanding of just how the two films are connected. And if you remember, they've been touting Avengers Doomsday as a direct sequel to Avengers Endgame because it is. Now, of course, what new content they're including, um who knows? Honestly, it's probably going to be a while till we find out if at all. I wouldn't be surprised if we wait till San Diego Comic-Con, which is like a month and a few weeks out from the re-release.

[00:02:02]That would kind of make sense to kind of tease why people should see it, release a new trailer prep before Infinity Vision and all that. That would make sense to me as a perfect marketing tool.

[00:02:13]But, I do find it interesting that they're saying narratively it's going to add more. And from what we're understanding, it has to be related to Captain America just from the way they talked about it because again, he's kind of going to be central to this, right? Like, he is our POV to everything that's going on and catching us up in Avengers Doomsday because he's always been the POV character in Avengers films. Now, of course, my biggest worry is that this isn't going to be anything significant.

[00:02:43]And I know people are going to say, "You're crazy. It has to be." No, it doesn't cuz this is also got to catch up people that aren't going to rewatch this in theaters, which is going to be a lot of people. So, it can't be that big of an impact. It just needs to provide extra content for nerds, aka us. And maybe drop some hints that we can dissect for 3 months before Doomsday is out, which I think will be the key here to start generating that big buzz. And more than likely include a new post-credit scene that includes, you know, more, like a direct tie-in. Thank you for checking out that video, and thank you for your continued support.
