Get over here.
Someone got couched.
Yeah, >> Fitzgerald.
>> Oh, dirty looking gown.
>> There are nine other bedrooms in this place besides our room and this nursery.
You are sweating up the baby's sofa. I will have to have it cleaned.
>> If I sleep one of the other bedrooms, the staff will know and the press will know in under 24 hours.
>> Tell the press that pregnancy is making me toss and turn. So, you're sleeping in another bed so that I can be more comfortable.
>> I thought the president and his wife have separate rooms that they can sleep in. Or tell them that I don't want to spend my night sleeping next to a man who gets erections in his sleep dreaming of Olivia a pope.
>> Wow.
>> Relax. I'm kidding. For now.
>> Rowan to shades. I'm just making hahas.
>> When do you leave for the G8 summit?
>> Next week.
>> Can't you leave sooner?
>> No.
>> Fine, whatever.
>> Even presidents have problems.
>> That's right.
>> With all the power in the world, he can't fix his marriage.
Takes more than that.
>> Who's this?
>> Oh, man. We're at Was Punk for a second.
>> Yeah, right.
>> Said that the last time and the time before that.
>> He's enjoying himself.
>> Yeah, I think they both are. Man, they've been hitting it.
>> What is that?
>> My mother. Do you mind making yourself scarce? I know it sounds juvenile, but she'll hear you breathing and then I'll never hear the end of it.
>> Sher.
>> Okay. Yeah, shower.
>> Make it quicker. I'm at Aby's now. She refuses to talk about work and I'm not pushing her on it >> because I don't want to raise her suspicions in >> Oh my god.
>> With the feet flex after >> winger. Yeah, right.
>> Don't work.
>> Waiting for that pillow talk.
>> I mean, he may as well have done the feet wiggle.
>> Love you, too.
>> Oh, no. Who's this new case?
>> That's the last time we saw her.
>> When did you realize she was missing?
>> Sunday the 18th. 4 days ago. The police say they're looking into it, >> which they are, but it's clearly not a priority for them.
>> Okay.
>> First thing we need to do is get national media involved. It's not your daughter who's missing. It's everyone's daughter. That's the way it should feel.
It's the difference between two people looking for Jenny and 300 million.
>> True.
>> That's true. Yeah.
>> There's this girl, right? She goes out every night and then blogs about it anonymously. And by going out, I mean she screws some politician then writes about what a bad lay he is.
>> Oh, >> it's weird.
>> What?
>> Hasn't been updated. She usually updates it at least once a week and hasn't been updated since.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> Oh, she's the one who's been sleeping around town, >> which is why the blog hasn't been updated since 17. So, the girl we spent the last three days describing as the innocent girl next door >> set her hands down the pants senator in town.
>> Oh, that's dangerous.
>> Who is that?
>> And throwing herself like a Well, I'm just going to say it.
>> Oh my god. Oh my gosh.
>> Wow. The where, when, who of this, where Jenny was when she disappeared, who she was last seen with. It's all in the blog.
>> The music.
>> Yeah. Right on top of that.
>> Get down. Get down.
>> At some point, you have to ask why a girl needs this much sexual attention.
>> She's having fun.
>> Dang, she's having a good time.
>> Doing her thing.
>> Yeah.
>> Who takes responsibility here? How was this girl raised?
>> I mean, >> you got to see this day in and day out.
>> No more TV. Don't watch it. Yeah.
>> So, Thursday was >> not helping you.
>> What did Jenny do Saturday before she disappeared?
>> Chucked herself into rehab. I hope >> checked all the fancy wines. No dice.
>> Oh, thank God.
>> What?
>> A girl. There's a girl unconscious in a hospital near Newport, Rhode Island.
Matches Jenny's description.
>> And you think she's okay?
>> Alcohol poisoning, but she's stable. The hospital >> Careful with those promises.
>> Hey, thanks, Bill. I'll be right there.
>> Mhm. Did she have something in her phone that makes it more secure? I wonder.
>> Well, Blackberries at the time were very secure.
>> Were they?
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, they were.
>> Yeah. Even the president have a had a Blackberry.
Uhoh.
Oh gosh.
>> Oh boy. Is that her? Uh-uh.
It's >> got a ankle bracelet with a cross on it.
It's a different person.
>> No ankle bracelet.
>> It's relief.
>> Not our daughter.
>> Oh.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> That's her.
>> There's the bracelet.
>> Oh man.
>> False hope. You probably shouldn't have gone to them first.
>> It's a long shot to think whoever killed her wouldn't have tossed it.
>> Yeah, but not having it makes figuring out where she was that night a little more difficult. She was at the State Department at a party called Around the World.
>> Oh, how's a 19-year-old on the guest list for a State Department party?
>> If you're young and hot and men like talking to you, you're on the list.
>> Dang.
>> They make they make sure.
>> Excuse me, sir. Is there a reason that you're here and not in the oval working?
>> Child puked on my pregnant wife. I've rushed to her side to comfort and care for her.
>> I want to be at the adults table >> like I was during the election.
>> Really?
>> Or have you forgotten how things worked back then?
Okay. Okay. Okay. I feel like the hell.
>> I'd say 20 minutes isn't long enough to fake worry about you.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> Soil samples from the scene. M soil samples from her lungs. Means they were still breathing when they dumped her.
>> Damn.
>> Oh my god.
>> Damn.
>> Alive. Are you telling me Jenny was on her face in a ditch, suffocating on dirt and slowly bleeding out for 5 hours.
>> Wow. Dang. That's horrible.
>> Yeah.
>> You coming back to the office? We could use your help >> soon. I'll be there soon.
>> H What are you working on over there?
>> Can you tell me has an Olivia Pope checked in for her team yet?
>> What?
>> What?
>> Olivia >> a family parent.
>> I thought I said no visitors.
>> Actually, that was my role.
>> Oh, >> why isn't that phone of yours ringing or buzzing or dinging or whatever it is blueberries do?
>> I turned it off.
>> Blueberries.
>> Vera, you're getting chemo.
My phone is off.
>> She's here for you.
>> Yeah, I go way back.
>> I want some answers, though.
>> Kyoto, >> Philip Limley, >> Sebastian Overby, Alexander Lavage, Kenneth Morris.
>> Wait, >> I feel like that Asian extra was used in a previous episode as a background extra.
>> Might have been.
>> They bring Lavage for questioning yet?
>> He's there now. And get this, M. Our girl goes missing. Alexander Lavage drives his car into the tree. He tells police he's the only one in the car. But >> oh, >> I've been trying to reach you. Your cell was off. We have a problem. Alexander Lavage, 41, cultural attache at the Kurkystani embassy. And with diplomatic immunity, virtually untouchable.
>> Oh, gotcha.
>> Only way we get him is if Kyrkystan revokes his immunity. And the only way they do that >> is if the president of the United States makes them.
>> Where you going out?
>> To the president.
>> No, you can't be here. He's not doing well. He's struggling. He's suffering and seeing you will make it worse. I've got to keep >> Seeing you will make it worse for sure.
>> Oh, there he is. Too late. Oh, there's >> before he comes back and sees you.
>> Mhm.
>> Now he's happy.
>> You're not asking Kyrgystan to wave diplomatic immunity. We can't. And you know we can't because you're smart and because you used to work here. So I'm not sure why you came to the White House.
>> Naivity.
>> That's so awkward.
>> Awkward silence.
Well, see you then.
Did it feel good? I was a big boy. I stood up to her.
>> I feel like a jerk out here, waving my arms at the White House like a crazy person trying to get the president's attention. I even voted for the guy.
>> In the event we're forced to engage with East Sudan, we'd like to >> guess who's in the background.
>> Oh boy. Yep.
>> Oh, is she?
>> Well, she's there somewhere. Yeah, somewhere.
>> She was a good kid and a good daughter.
And I think if I can just talk to the president, father, >> she's hearing it.
>> It's smart. It's brilliant. The optics, the staging. She's >> her gears are turnurning.
>> Oh, it's growing.
>> We're growing support from Americans or pitching their tents in solidarity. Turn this now into a major standoff. Dang, this is escalating really bad, dude.
>> You got to respond.
>> Uh-huh. Can't ignore it.
>> That's between a rock and a hard place there.
>> Yeah.
>> I mean, he's That's tough cuz you're trying to maintain relations.
>> Maybe call the Kirkystani people. And she's smart. See what they say.
>> Yeah.
>> Every call made to and from Quinn's ex-boyfriend in the three weeks leading up to the explosion.
>> Several pieces of popcorn.
>> Uh Jane got a popper.
>> Oh my god.
>> So, how's it going with the ginge? That was random.
>> Did you seen your apartment yet? Did you see that wall?
>> Oh. Oh, she's about to Oh my gosh. You're breaking in there.
Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick, quick.
>> Yeah. Make haste. Damn.
Wow.
I would quickly just take some photos and bounce.
>> Exactly.
>> [ __ ] Damn >> pizza.
>> People staring at >> pizza in shock. I'm like, what are you doing?
Take a photo or video and leave.
>> A DC area code >> that Quint's ex-boyfriend Jesse called 11 times the week before he died.
>> Oh [ __ ] >> David Rose.
>> Oh, meet you.
>> Always keep an eye out for legal talent.
>> Why was he calling him?
>> Oh no. Well, I wanted to ask about Sitron, small software company in California.
>> Okay.
>> That company that young girl blew up in case the government screwed the pooch on. That was a slam dunk right there.
Whoever lost that thing, it's about as sharp as a sack of wet m.
>> You need to speak to my IT boys about that. Heck, they nerd talk all over the world. India, Hong Kong.
>> Deflecting. Well, actually, there were calls to your head of security, which is confusing because Doyle Energy doesn't have a contract with Citron.
>> Okay.
>> Oh. Oh, >> now that is a mister.
>> He's not Ram. He's not doing his Boomhower.
>> Nope.
>> I hoped he and I might speak more informally.
>> Well, now he wouldn't be much of a security head if he didn't keep things secure.
>> That's Yeah, exactly.
>> Thanks for your time.
>> Knowing knowing when to just like be silent powerful. Yeah, considering he's a talker, he's smart, though.
>> You try so hard to get that man to walk away from you. Have you ever stopped to consider how painful it's going to be if you succeed?
>> I have no idea what you're talking about.
>> Election together. And I'm not stupid.
And we've been through far too much together to pretend.
>> That's right. You guys are sloppy.
>> You succeed in pushing him away.
>> I've seen you two together.
>> That's That's a bad situation. You have a very active imagination.
>> You are poking a bear.
>> Please don't.
>> She knows what she's talking about.
She's been around the block.
>> Let me turn your phone back on >> I really don't think that we >> Uhoh.
>> Oh boy. Something >> something big.
>> Oh, it's from uh Abby.
>> Hi.
>> Hello, Olivia.
>> Oh boy. Oh boy.
>> What do you want me?
>> Your story, that protest, it's starting to die.
>> They want to work together. would be a great sheer >> if the first lady of the United States took a stand on this, wouldn't it?
>> What?
>> What? You got your wife and your lover working together against you.
>> That's the worst nightmare.
>> Maybe you're wrong.
>> Maybe.
>> Say it's going to be worth it. It's worth it. So, turn on your camera, stop complaining, and decide how you're going to thank me.
>> Let's go.
>> Yep. Listen to her. Jeez. Stop bullshitting. Let's go.
>> Let's go.
>> Told you.
>> Camera on now. Mr. and Mrs. Nestrom, I just want to say how sorry I am.
>> You know what's wild? I was thinking like, is she going to come out onto the front lawn like Sue Storm in Fantastic 4? And here she is.
>> Would you mind if I joined you for a bit?
>> No question this time. I'm not here in any official capacity.
>> Yeah, right.
>> I'm here as a mom. A mom who is horrified that our legal system short in getting justice for Jenny Neistrom. Yo, >> how's he going to feel about this?
>> Boy, he's going to be pissed.
>> Does it hurt here?
>> The woman's a political genius.
>> Which one? Both of them.
>> Both. They both are.
>> Look what you did.
>> I'm the leader of the free world. I'm arguably the most powerful man on the planet. And I'm being brought to my knees by my wife and my >> girlfriend Pope. Yeah.
>> Okay.
>> Jenny Nestrom has become more important than the entire nation of East Sudan thanks to Liv and Melly.
>> They worked together.
>> That's right.
>> The women in your life play a very mean game of political chess.
>> I'm better than you.
>> Win.
>> They Yes, they did.
>> That's right.
>> You know how to pick.
>> What are you going to do? I mean, >> oh, he wants whiskey.
>> Yeah, >> I'm going in.
>> All right, here we go.
>> The trial's been over for weeks.
Everyone's moved on. I'm done suggesting you do the same. I now require it. Move on.
>> Wow. You want to show her what you found?
>> I need to take this privately.
Of course you do.
Oh, our loyalty is being called into question.
>> Reservation for two Syra the first to arrive. That's fine.
>> Oh, okay.
>> Is he really coming?
It's really quiet.
>> Yeah. Everybody lift.
>> Damn.
>> The president's coming in.
>> That's weird.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. The president's coming in. They're trying to make sure it's clear.
>> Uh-huh.
>> They got everybody out of there fast, >> man.
>> How do you get everyone out of there?
>> I don't know.
>> So, Lavage is forced out of the US and has to return home to Kyrkystan where he'll, I don't know, chill while Jenny Nestrom's murder goes unavvened. It's >> the best I can do.
>> Nice. Wonderful. America's the greatest country in the world.
>> He's got diplomatic immunity. It's kind of sticky.
>> One of your staffers could have told me this over the phone.
>> I wanted to see you.
>> Why?
>> Oh my gosh. I'm going to the G8 tonight.
I'm going to hit you right on Air Force One.
>> Okay.
>> You must really hate me.
>> Uh, dude, are you stupid?
>> I'm falling in love with you.
>> Oh, >> you can miss. Really? Other than me joining the Mile High Club with you in Air Force One, I was thinking the future here.
>> Jeez.
>> Fine.
We're done.
No, you're not.
>> I'm letting you go.
>> That's what you want, right?
>> Liar.
>> That's what she says she wants.
>> It's not for you, me, Ellie, the country.
>> I have to be a responsible.
>> Uh-huh. How long does that last?
>> Right.
>> He's asking for approval.
>> He's unsure of himself. That's why he said, "Right." Right.
till the next episode.
>> I don't know how you walk away from her, but she is saying to go away, so >> yeah. Well, >> that makes a little easier.
>> You are whatever you want.
>> It's all being charged to me anyway.
>> Take advantage.
I'll have a blue label.
>> The lobster.
>> Your ribeye steak.
>> Man, see she tried to warn you, right?
Your buddy.
You don't really want him to go anyway. He's I don't believe him on that.
>> I don't believe anybody.
>> Come on.
>> But it's nice to have a restaurant all to yourself to cry in.
>> Yeah. So, despite the insurmountable obstacles, we tried and now it's important to know when to move on.
>> Okay, >> so that's what we're doing.
>> Oh, boy.
>> We're all having to move on from something.
>> As impossible as it may seem, >> Peter, the president has done everything.
>> I don't give a damn about international law or treaties. They're nonsense.
>> I get it.
>> I understand the feeling. You're dealing with war. Wherever you're going, after you drop your wife at the hotel, the hardware store, the gun shop, the safe in the back of your closet, don't go there.
>> Oh, it's not worth it. It will feel good for a few seconds, but then it will eat at you for the rest of your life.
>> [ __ ] >> Wow.
It's happening. He's doing it.
>> Well, he said what he had to say. He tried.
>> Mhm. Yeah. What else can you do? He He could see it coming.
>> Hopefully Pops sees reason before he does something horrible. You did good work for those people.
>> You did good work.
>> Not good enough in her eyes.
>> They come here thinking they're going to change the world and then they get involved with some man and everything just >> I thought we were very good together.
>> Oh. Oh, >> you weren't talking about me.
>> It's not all about you, dude.
>> Uh, >> we were good together.
>> What happened with him? He's not presidential enough.
>> I know she's done things for all of us fixed. All of us, but no one asks her any questions. We all just do whatever she says. And doesn't that ever bother you?
>> It bother me. That drive me crazy.
>> Mhm.
>> There's a good person. And if a good person has to do something bad for the right reasons, I'm down with that.
>> So, we stop asking questions.
>> Guess so. She's not convinced.
Oh, here it is. You know where to find him?
>> Oh my god.
>> Police were called to the scene where Lav >> Huck Puck did it first.
>> Yeah.
>> Earlier tonight, I went out. I went out hard.
>> Oh [ __ ] >> Took a lot of whiskey.
>> Oh my god. He made a promise. See, I told you, >> man.
>> I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror.
>> Who did he promise? But I can't say that. Uh he promised well he promised uh Olivia that he wouldn't kill his specific >> that guy.
>> Yeah.
>> That kind of perfection doesn't make me feel weak. It makes me feel strong.
>> H >> I don't know if I could ever go back.
>> Damn.
>> Okay.
>> Hello.
>> Damn.
>> What do you think?
>> Yeah. You need somebody to support you.
>> She likes him, right?
>> Yeah. I mean, that's my automatic assumption.
>> Uhhuh. There we go. hands.
>> Shonda hands.
>> Mhm.
>> Wow.
>> Nice transition.
>> Transition there.
>> Yeah.
>> You going to miss me?
>> That was an asinine thing you did today.
Worked out well for me this time. The next time you cross me.
>> Careful. You don't want to threaten me cuz I might actually get angry.
>> You never miss a beat, do you?
>> Oh, that exchange, man. That's crazy town.
>> Oh god.
>> What the hell?
>> Relax. I already saw your wall when it broken earlier.
>> What are you?
>> Are you just having fun? Is this just sex or is this real? Or is this something?
>> H.
This is something.
>> Okay.
>> Something. Okay.
>> Then we should talk about what's going on with THE LIVING.
>> OH NO.
>> OH MY GOD.
>> OH NO.
Oh my god. Focused on Quinn Perkins.
I've been focused on Olivia Pope.
Yeah, he couldn't wait.
>> Every man is just looking for an opportunity to to express himself to a woman.
>> That's right.
>> Finally, someone will listen to me in my crazy theories.
>> Of those seven people, Cyron Software, it's bigger than them. Much bigger.
>> Oh my gosh. We appreciate you making the time, friends.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> Oh my god. Oh my Okay. Okay.
>> Okay.
>> Okay.
>> I think conspiracy is a strong word.
>> Look at this Illuminati thing going on.
Who else is here? Oh my god.
>> Grow an issue. Kraken.
What is happening?
Yo, this is crazy town.
Is she like the oracle in the Matrix?
>> Oh man, what is going or is it just like this group that protects the president?
>> Protects America.
>> Goodness gracious. What an episode. Oh my god.
>> I knew Olivia was up to some kind of crazy highlevel [ __ ] but I wasn't not 100% clear.
>> Just like what you were talking about or we were talking about that you resolve one issue and four sprout from that route.
>> Yeah.
>> This this show does a good job of those those endings. Those open endings like that surprise open endings. I'm really curious about this backdoor stuff cuz like >> I don't know >> if Olivia and and the president's wife are in cahoots in another realm of society like I don't know it's it paints the it paints a different it paints the their earlier meeting in a different light where you know Olivia's called to the White House so they can work together. I don't know. It's like there seemed to be it was I guess it wasn't 100% clear how uh the president's wife felt about Olivia. Like she because it wasn't like she was completely standoffish with with Olivia. It wasn't like she was mean to her. She was more indifferent. It was more her animosity was all directed at the president.
>> Yeah. If remember in an earlier meeting when she was talking to Olivia, she blamed her for leaving him. Remember?
Right. So at at that cap at at that point, you know, even though you know that obviously they had an affair, you don't know at what capacity she's talking about leaving like leaving off of the, you know, the group for the campaign, right? Or leaving him as his mistress.
>> But at this point, we obviously know that she knows about Olivia and the president.
>> Yeah.
>> So maybe that she was upset that she left that way. I I don't know. But I get the feeling that this group hasn't met in a while. It just I get that feeling.
That's quite possible. I mean, there was some strong animosity between Cyrus and Olivia at one point. So, yeah, that's it's entirely possible.
>> Also, if it was the judge that she called um to help her out with Quinn's case, >> right, >> then she hadn't talked to her in a while, so they must not have met in a while, >> right? Well, yeah. I mean, I got questions about this uh agreement.
>> Yeah.
>> This this association.
>> Yeah. So, >> also this this whole thing with Abby and the guy that works for the Justice Department, >> you know, is he still playing his 007 thing or is he actually really falling for her? I don't know.
>> That whole sequence is so fascinating.
Like, >> yeah, >> it's like you can't just break into people's showers. Is it a problem? No, >> but >> you can't do that. It's >> kind of hot.
>> You're still not supposed to break into people's showers.
>> There's something. Still don't know what the hell something means. Yeah, >> I know. We couldn't wait to tell her though.
>> Yeah, >> I've been working on this. Yeah, I really like Brenda Song's character in this, too. I don't I've never really seen her in a lot of stuff, but she's fun. She's a lot of fun. She's kind of >> I'm still stuck on that broke into the shower thing. Like, she like she straight up was like breaking and entering and then he had and he slept with her.
>> Yeah, >> you got your kinks, man. If if if you reverse the genders, man, like that is some creepy next level [ __ ] >> This is true.
>> I I just hollering at you, you know?
What's I just want to say what's up, you know? I just want to make sure. Are we for real? Is this a real thing or like is this just Are you just sleeping with me? Like, are you just trying to get some information? What's going on? Like, >> at that point, are you answering out of fear?
>> Can you imagine if a guy broke into a girl shower and asked the same exact questions Redhead asked? Like, that's a completely different tone. It is >> not kinky, not hot, but this was so >> Yeah.
>> Like >> some Yeah, it's different. Somehow it's different.
>> How'd you get in here? I broken through your window >> like I did earlier today. You already saw your wall when I broke in here earlier.
>> I like that right there. Like I already saw your wall when I broke in earlier.
>> Mhm.
>> Like not only did you break in this time, you broke in earlier.
>> Yeah. I can do it anytime.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. You need to change the locks, man.
Ah, yeah.
>> Like she knows all your secrets at that point.
>> There's no there's no hiding.
>> We have this Huck situation too now where he's just man, he's fallen off the wagon.
>> Mhm.
>> He he I mean, but the thing about him is yes, he enjoys doing that. Obviously, he's got a problem. But so far, what we've seen in the series, he's doing it for the right reasons. He believes >> like um >> like >> I forgot his name. Forget it. Punisher.
>> No, it was a TV show about a guy.
Dexter, thank you.
>> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Totally. He's totally Dexter, man. Got him on the plastic and everything. Great show. Um, yeah, but I mean, he's he's he's doing it what he what he thinks is good and was justice, but he did he he saved the guy cuz the guy would have killed him and gone to prison and, you know, it probably would have felt good like he said at the time.
>> Yeah. He protected the guy from himself.
That's right. Uh what I liked about that scene is something that I saw earlier in the show uh right before Quinn's uh news reporter boyfriend got killed with a scissor.
>> Mhm.
>> Um the politician who resigned working for the vice president, he he was just getting very loud and like a lot of hot air, you know, in in terms of like expressing his anger at the news reporter. Yeah.
>> Saying, "You're wrong. You don't know anything." Blah blah blah blah blah. I you're so stupid. a lot of what he was saying was masking what he was really feeling.
>> Um, and one of the things I heard a long time ago about writing that I think is actually kind of difficult, but it's so important is your your characters should always be lying. Like they're no one is ever saying exactly what they feel, >> right? Even just in regular conversation, you're never saying with 100% transparency, you're not going to see all the way to the the bottom of my iceberg when I'm talking to you cuz like we're all wearing masks all the time, right? And so we're all conveying information in a way that is like socially acceptable. So there's always some modeicum of lying, but like in in TV shows and in movies, like it's really important to follow that rule where characters are speaking through nuance.
And so likewise here you had a Huck like very overtly masking ex like what he's talking about through code and whatnot, >> right? The whiskey thing.
>> Yeah. And I I thought I thought that was cool. I like when the I can spot the show doing I mean obviously it's more it's more obvious and apparent sometimes than others.
>> But with um with Olivia, she's like, "Don't call me anymore. We got to end this." What she's really saying is, "I want to be with you and I just can't be with you." Like there's so many layers.
There's so many instances of of characters saying something other than what they're actually feeling and I really appreciate that. That's good writing. Yeah.
>> To be able to pull it off in a way that feels believable.
>> Yeah, that's a good point. Yeah, that sometimes you don't think about that, especially as it's applicable to daily life.
>> But yeah, that is that is good. And we saw that of course from the president. I mean, he's like every episode doing that when he was in there with at the restaurant telling her that, okay, we're done. I'm never going to see you again.
Come on, man. Really? Yeah.
>> Yeah. it's going to be he's going to be doing that for the rest of the season or forever.
>> Um, which I don't know. I mean, and I I hate to say this, but I almost get tired of their back and forth sometimes just because it's never truly resolved and we know it's not going to be resolved at any point soon >> likely because he's still the president.
>> But I'm like, it's just going to be it's going to be back and forth for a while.
>> I've been conditioned to accept that with season two >> Bridgetgerton >> of Bridgetton.
>> Uhhuh. Yeah.
>> Yeah. with Anthony and and um >> Kate.
>> Kate. Yeah, that's I'm just used to it now.
>> Yeah, I guess that's the one part that's I love this show. That's the one part that's of course a little bit predictable is obviously we're going to have that back and forth. I love you. I don't uh leave me. No. Yeah.
>> I see you've had nothing but healthy relationships, Brandon.
>> I on the other hand have not.
This is all too familiar territory. I know what it feels like to be president.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> And have Carrie Washington try to >> That's right. To be the most powerful man in the free world. Sure.
>> Highly relatable.
>> Highly.
>> All right. Let's go to the next episode.
>> Okay.
>> Okay. I have uh skipped the recap for episode five and it just went to black.
I'm going to hit the play button in three, two, one.
>> I don't know why you got rid of this.
Huh?
>> Would you rather we met inside the White House? Does that feel less like a felony to you?
>> Secret Service is outside that door.
Please do not shout the word fellen in this room.
>> We all jumped off the bridge together.
Heck, we held hands.
>> You freelanced, Hollis?
>> You're damn right I freelance. There's a big old mess. And hell, if anyone else is going to clean it up now, we can sit here all night twisting my nipples.
>> What can we do?
>> Happy to freelance one more time.
>> Do not say that in my presence ever again.
>> Oh, someone's gotten ruffles on her panties since she entered the White House.
>> Show some respect. She's the first lady.
Who knows that better than me?
>> Olivia's going to clean it up. Yeah, she always cleans it up.
>> Mhm.
>> She cleaned it up last time.
>> Our David Rosen problem. I'll fix it.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> How are we going to do this?
>> I mean, we saw what happened with the bomb.
>> You're about to feel very bad because I'm not firing you, >> right? Wait, you're not?
>> No. I went out on a limb. Pulled a few strings. Told the powers that be that David Rosen is a brilliant A USA.
ready to come off suspension and make a new start, but he's done obsessing about the past or Olivia Pope. Am I wrong to say that?
>> Oh, careful. Assistant US attorney.
Okay, got it.
>> I go to a lot of groups. A A N A D A G A >> and I'd really like to spend more time with some of them, >> you know, OUTSIDE THE MEETINGS >> cuz I like the people in this group.
Some of them.
>> You getting that?
>> Go out with you sometime.
>> Yes. Thought you'd never ask.
>> This is my number. Dang. D could not wig her.
>> I'm free tomorrow night.
>> Damn.
>> Careful, dude.
>> Yeah, right.
>> She could be an agent.
>> She's got all kind of A's, too.
>> It is later. Cute.
>> No, today's good either because I'm working and I do not want to go out with you. Goodbye.
>> Oh, he's going to call again. Gosh.
>> No one makes a face. No one makes a smile. uence as a witty joke.
>> She's talking about you.
>> Shut up.
>> Came in right here. Stopped this guy here.
>> Friendly neighborhood. Husband sees the guy on top of his wife.
>> Whoa.
>> Two beautiful shots fired through the paricardium.
>> Beautiful shots.
>> Beautiful shots.
>> Are you ready to tell me what happened to Governor?
>> Oh my gosh. Governor.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> As soon as I walked in, I saw I saw he was on top of her. M >> saw me started shouting for help, saying, "Stop. Please stop it." I just I I grabbed my gun and I shot him.
>> Self-defense.
>> You've been our contractor for over 2 years.
>> Wow.
>> Built this house.
>> It's always the people you least expect.
>> Uhhuh.
>> Will you take Mrs. Rustin upstairs? She could use some rest.
>> Gosh, I wonder if she's telling the truth.
>> Him.
>> We'll see her wet. She showered.
>> So >> So a shower makes a rape exam negligible. It means we have nothing. M no rape kit.
>> I know this is a terrible time for you and I understand how you feel about me, but if we're going to work together and I'm going to help you here, you follow my rules.
>> You've seen what I can do.
>> You're the best.
Don't I know it.
>> Got to listen to her then. Her theme song should be the Karate Kid theme song. The best around.
>> Make sure there's no trace of us in that kitchen. We've only been here minutes. M >> what did she mean you've seen what I can do?
>> The governor was 10 points ahead of President Fitzgerald 6 weeks before the Nashville election.
>> Yeah, I remember.
>> Who do you think took all those points away?
>> Hey, >> I understand you're working with the governor and his wife. I need to question them. This is resting and the governor is still in shock. So sad. I understand. How about later today? How about my office noon? Make it 1. They should try to get as much rest as possible.
>> Okay.
>> Why is she here?
>> We need her, Alison.
>> Actually, we don't need her. And after all the dirty tricks she pulled during the election, >> that's why you need her.
>> Hold on, Alison. You're a spokesperson, not a fixer. We need a fixer.
>> We're grateful to the people of Maryland for their support and ask them to respect our privacy as we handle this family tragedy.
>> This tragedy is an opportunity.
>> What the governor did was heroic.
>> Grateful to the people of Maryland for their support and ask them to respect our privacy as we handle this family tragedy. Basic boiler plate.
>> This redhead hates her so much.
>> How this plays out over the next 24 hours. And then we set our agenda.
>> Animosity.
>> You're the fixer.
>> Yes, I am.
>> That's right.
>> At which time, Governor, you heard Mrs. Reston cry for help, grab the gun from the cupboard, and shot him.
>> Yes.
>> Yeah. She's basically Harvard Kitel's character from Pulp Fiction.
>> The cleaner.
>> Yeah, exactly.
>> Entered through the living room and pinned it to the counter. Is that correct?
>> That's That's criminal.
>> You think she's acting?
>> And I don't know if he was really doing that to her, if she was in an affair or something.
>> I know this must be difficult on top of everything else. I'll be in touch if we have any other questions.
>> Carrie Washington would know.
>> Yeah, I think so.
>> Gun. He bought it a week ago.
>> Are you sure? Because in a statement it says he's had it for 15 years.
>> It's rare. Mativa Model 6 customized wood handle.
>> Oh, >> he was drunk. The governor didn't go home after he left his office. He stopped by a local bar called the barrel. Red flag number two.
>> Maybe he forgot he stopped after the trauma.
>> Oh, what's she saying?
>> The governor is also grateful for the freedom granted by the Constitution in the right to bear arms.
>> She's saying a lot. If that is not heroism, I don't know what is.
>> Did she just do the exact opposite of what I told?
>> That's what I was thinking.
>> She did.
>> Damn. I was like, I don't think they agreed on this.
>> No, they did not.
>> Press finds out about the angry phone calls to the victim when they find out you were three sheets to the wind. So, the multiple angry phone calls >> was me telling a crappy contractor to stop gouging me. It took two months to install bathroom tiles. Now, if you think that's a motive for murder, >> it takes time to install bathroom towels when he's blinking your wife.
We need breaks.
>> You want to survive this, Governor? Do you want your career to survive?
>> Of course I do.
>> Then let me do my job.
>> That's right. Why are you paying her all that money?
>> Japan to tell me things relating to the president.
>> I'm saying that he's sleeping for the next 7 hours because it's after midnight in Japan.
>> He's in Japan.
>> He's in Japan.
>> Did you not hear that?
>> Could have said that sooner.
>> You just talk over me. I never get to finish my >> Oh, poor girl. She's still trying to talk.
>> He's a journalist.
>> Yes, but why is he here?
>> He's a journalist. I'm saying he is a journalist.
>> Jeremy Pivven Light is back.
>> Secretary's office.
>> I'm a journalist.
>> She's like, I'll leave.
>> I called my old boss and he gave me my job back.
>> You don't want a baby?
>> Because he cares about me.
>> Oh. Oh, >> I told you why we can't adopt a baby.
>> And I heard you, which is why I'm back at work.
>> Exactly. I am now the chief White House correspondent for the most powerful news outlet in the nation. And I'm childless, so I got plenty of time to give him my all.
>> That's still a conflict of interest, though.
>> Sure, but he's trying to get back at him at the same time.
>> They offered me my job back.
>> That's great.
I don't know if we're going to take it.
>> Wait, what?
>> The ex Citron guy I've been calling for weeks finally got back to me and we're meeting at the Griddle Cafe 3:30 this afternoon.
>> But then what? You throw your incredibly promising legal career that you've worked your entire adult life on a way to become a professional conspiracy theorist, hold conventions in the desert.
>> Why do you care what I do with the rest of my life?
>> Oh, cuz something >> maybe I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
>> That's a great question. Why do you care about what I do with the rest of my life?
>> Governor's people jumped the gun with their press conference, but the media is seeing him as a hero, so we need to keep that alive.
>> The man shot. What else could he be but a hero?
>> We need to tell the story our way. We've got a hero. We've got a victim now. We just need to finish the job. Give the press their villain.
>> He knows something.
>> Yeah, he smells it. Uh-huh.
>> Quinn, check out Bill Mar's police records. We're looking for any history of violence. Harrison, Abby, talk to the contractor's crew. Maybe they hated their boss. Let's move quickly, people.
>> Harrison's going to be together with Abby. They're going to >> Yeah, I I get the sense that he can spell unsatisfied horny from across the room.
>> When you sneak away to talk to your new boyfriend, >> I don't know. You're getting legs.
>> Harrison. Hey, it's a good thing.
>> You're less crabby these days.
>> Going to do a stack stone with rusty wall.
>> I was going to lay to bed with sag river rock first >> and add some keystone and archstone.
>> You don't let off the internet >> every single way.
>> That's funny.
>> Do you have a lot of arguments with people?
>> I'm about to.
>> Look, my boss died here. I just lost my job. Make yourself useful red and give me those.
>> Okay.
>> Everybody calls her red.
Oh no.
>> Oh no.
>> Used to that look at this point, right?
>> My hands.
>> Yeah. Right. Lately.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh boy.
>> She's finding [ __ ] >> That's where you go.
>> I wonder if her relationship is going to last.
>> He stole for no reason. Like erasers and light bulbs and stuff. He was a serial shoplifter.
>> The club the maniac.
>> Guess so. Got some dirt to add to the pile?
>> No dirt, just hair. Unless Mr. Long hair was raping her all over the house. They were screwing Lift in the shower, the hot tub, the laundry room. They even used the bed once in a while.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> Oh my gosh. Once in a while.
>> Lana, the stonemason. His boss had a long history of going the extra mile in his jobs to make the wives happy.
>> Oh, he was screwing them left and right.
>> Dang.
>> Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
>> You were having an affair, Joan, and that's how you tried to hide it. M >> you tell me that isn't true.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> Oh boy.
>> Oh god.
>> He was a young handsome fella.
>> Dude, >> I am so sorry.
>> For what?
>> For making me a killer. You're going to have to be MORE SPECIFIC. I SHOT THAT MAN.
>> DID you know your wife was having an affair?
>> Does it look like I did?
>> Oh no.
>> I trusted and loved was screwing around with the contractor who was soaking me for every penny I had. You know, I always wondered why we needed the guest house AND THE BAR.
ONCE THE HOUSE WAS FINISHED, I WAS LAUGH. You two must have had it. I expect >> Sorry.
>> Oh man, I got some extra work to do.
>> I was fully expecting her to be like, but I did want the pakakota. You don't understand. It went well with the furniture.
>> You got to expect the contractor to delay the pipe. I guess >> I know about the firewall, the breach, the explosion, all of it.
>> So Citron Hollist Oil's company was behind that explosion. M >> Oh, no. That explosion was the worst thing that ever happened to that company.
>> Oh.
>> Hollis Doyle found out he had a massive security breach in his firewall. I'm talking anyone who wanted to could get in there. 60-year-old baby hackers.
>> So, he hires Citron to fix it. But Citron only gets halfway through before they go boom.
>> Oh. Oh.
>> So, they're >> Sydney ducks, man. They knew I wasn't going to keep my mouth shut about something like that.
>> Oh.
>> Oh, I thought forget it. Doesn't matter what I thought. But we still have our deal, right?
>> What deal?
>> Oh no. That's interesting.
>> I thought I told you not to sneak up with me like that. Creepy man.
>> Sorry. Where do you take women?
>> You ask me where I put the lotion on their skin. Unless they get the hose again or >> on dates.
>> You have a date?
>> Yes.
>> You?
>> Yes.
>> Come on.
>> Do something you like to do. Oh, >> she won't like anything I like to do.
Just take her to the top to >> Will I need a reservation? It's tomorrow. That's too late for reservations.
>> Come on, dude.
>> Dude, you've faced the NSA's main frame.
You don't think you can make yourself a dinner reservation?
>> Good point.
>> Good point. Think outside the box.
>> Has the president heard the news about the shooting at Governor Restston's house?
>> I don't know. I'll have to take that question, Carol.
>> Excuse me. Sorry. Sorry, Carol.
>> It's just that I didn't get because you took it, whatever that means. So, I'm not asking for two questions. I'm not asking for a follow-up question. I'm just asking for one question cuz that is the rule, right?
>> They're going to have such a big fight when they get home.
>> Gosh. Yeah, right.
>> And I took the question which means I will take it back with me to work and bring you back an answer in due time.
Will that satisfy you?
>> That depends. Exactly. How long is due time?
>> That's another question.
>> Moving on.
>> Oh my god.
>> It's funny. You think I'd have known had some inkling.
>> I hate to say it, but from a legal standpoint, it's lucky that you didn't.
>> That's true.
>> True. We stress that even though it wasn't rape, you believed it was rape and as such are entitled to the same protections.
>> She's going to look bad.
>> Your wife will likely go to prison.
>> Cried rape and caused you to kill an innocent.
>> Damn.
>> See, if there's a paper trail, anything, the police might find the proofs they were having an affair.
>> And if there isn't, >> cover it up.
>> Guess so.
>> The world thinks I'm a hero. Liv, why disappoint them?
>> Damn, that's rough, man. Vera, >> when was this?
>> Why'd he lie about the gun, though? He's got a paper shelf for that gun.
>> Did you do what I asked?
>> I had to go through some people and call in some favors. But Wexler offered David his job back.
>> H >> I can handle that. I have a guy.
>> Oh, good. Maybe he'll go back to work and drop this. One hopes.
>> One hopes.
>> I don't know, man. David's tough. He's tenacious. He's like very focused. Stuff like this, like what we did, never really goes away, does it? Just one big bloody hospital gown.
>> I prefer to think that anything can be fixed. Then you're a fool.
>> Maybe that's the for the best to be foolish.
>> Maybe. Got to be optimistic.
>> Anything I should know about. Anything you kept, emails, voicemails, cards, anything at all that would prove or even suggest you were having an affair.
>> Not that I can think of.
>> Oh, think harder.
>> So, my husband's trying to keep the affair quiet then? I think he's just trying to keep all of the options open.
Mainly, I presume, to keep you out of jail.
>> Mhm.
>> He's a different man, you know, different from the man who ran in that election. That man was hopeful. He had dreams, not only for our family, but for families across the nation. Then one Tuesday night in November, it all went away.
>> So that's why, >> son, the next morning wasn't even a headline. It was a number. 4,359.
That's how many votes we lost the presidency by.
>> Oh, so it's all her fault that his guy died.
>> Yep. That's it.
>> And not a day goes by when he doesn't bring it up.
>> That's our lives now. 4359 every single day.
>> Wow.
>> I miss my husband, Olivia.
>> And if there were anything I could do to bring him back, I would in a second.
>> I wonder how Al Gore feels.
Yeah, >> it's fine for him to be out of the country now, but in a month I'm having him grounded until after the birth. He has to be within helicopter distance.
>> No one's responsible for their actions.
It's all Olivia's fault.
>> That's right.
>> James, we have to do that dinner in the residence. Just the four of us. We can show you the nursery.
>> Oh, I look forward to it.
>> You can get a gander, which you'll never get to have.
>> Yeah.
>> He's your husband.
>> He's a journalist inside this building.
is a journalist and you know it because you're a terrifying political animal who would eat off her own foot if it meant you could get ahead of trade I respect.
>> Trade I respect.
>> All roads lead to fits.
>> Roads lead to fits. Which means everything has to be about him, not you.
You are not to make a single news story right now. Nothing.
>> If your water breaks, change your pants and cross your knees.
>> Oh my god.
>> About you draws attention away.
>> Goodness gracious. Change your pants and cross your knees. The >> president's whole trip starts to look like a massive waste of taxpayer dollars. So, let's stay away from reporters. Sit on the bench for the good of the team.
>> Wow.
>> Guess my better judgment. I attended that meeting. That's about all the team you're going to get out of me.
>> You wanted a seat at the table.
>> That's the table.
>> Oh, >> that's the real table.
>> Like you said, I am a terrifying political animal. So, I want to be clear. I will not >> Oh, if only these walls could talk. all the things that they've heard.
>> This ever comes up, you won't have time to deny because it means we are already going down in flames three. You may be an monster.
>> Just wow.
>> And I am much more terrifying than you can ever imagine.
>> Yeah, I believe that.
>> Your position as first lady, >> I will do whatever is necessary to make sure things go accordingly.
>> These are two titans, man.
>> Do not ever speak the word defiance in my presence again. Wow.
>> Damn.
>> That's the real power struggle.
>> I'll have my office call your office to schedule that dinner for the four of us in the residence. Sounds like fun.
>> He's scary. The two of them are both really scary.
>> Oh, good.
>> You're my first port of call as luck would or wouldn't have it, Miss Wheelman.
>> So, the rape pal was working on >> is now a homicide investigation being handled by me. Mm- >> friend testifying that the so-called rapist was in fact having an affair with Miss Rest. I assume from the emails you've been reading that this is not news to you. Where are they?
>> Damn.
>> Boy, he's slick.
>> Wants to press charges against you, Governor.
>> For what? Defending my wife?
>> Murder.
>> What do we do now?
>> Unfortunately, he has to arrest you, but we'll make sure there's no pera.
>> Wow.
>> He'll think you knew about the affair and killed him on purpose. But if I will that I lied about the rape.
>> I can't let you go to jail.
>> I can't stand to see you suffer any longer.
>> Oh my god.
>> I wasn't strong enough to tell you I wasn't happy. And when you walked into that room, I got scared and a man died.
>> Oh boy.
>> That's what happened.
>> Dang.
That's sacrifice.
>> This I can fix.
>> [ __ ] This is crazy town. My goodness.
>> Oh man.
You don't have to do this.
>> She's already doing it, man.
>> What's that, Mrs. Rest?
>> Wow.
>> They need to start closing their doors in this office because this dude be walking in throwing all kinds of information being die, man.
>> Jesus.
>> Another win for Olivia Pope. We should celebrate.
>> Is it a win?
>> Is it a win?
>> I can stop dropping by. I can stop calling. I can stop asking. But you never tell me to stop.
>> Well, there's a hint. No is no.
I don't want you to stop.
>> Okay.
>> Okay.
>> But I'm not ready to say yes.
>> Interesting.
>> Will you tell me when you're ready?
>> I will.
>> Okay.
>> Wow.
>> I promise.
>> Okay.
>> Well, she's learning. I guess >> that's going to take a while, you know, just such a big loss.
>> Cuz that's what she should have said to the president.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Please don't. You need a woman's opinion.
>> What?
>> Hug's got a date tonight at the top of the door.
>> Really? But that's great. What's great?
>> No, please.
>> Uh, everybody knows.
>> What about this time?
>> Uh, no. Let's see. It's great if you know about wine and can order her a glass.
>> It's like no air.
>> Maybe charming, but please tell me that it's not the only place you wrote it down.
>> Read me the number.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> 2025.
>> Wine is key to a good leg for you. It's kind of hot.
>> What about this one?
>> What does she know?
>> The exitron guy. been calling for weeks.
Finally got back to me and we're meeting at the Criddle Cafe 3:30 this afternoon.
>> Douglas Starbucks now.
>> He's going to look really nice. Okay.
What do you think?
>> Yeah. Nice.
>> Oh, no. Huck's meeting him.
>> No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
>> Wait, am I wrong there?
>> Yeah, it's it's that uh Huck's been tracking it.
>> Oh, I see.
>> That's sloppy that it's notes are just out like that, but it's understandable given the situation.
>> Yeah.
>> Did you have a chance to peruse the wine list, Miss?
>> I'd like a ginger ale, and the lady will also have a glass of ginger ale. Mhm.
>> Very good, Mr. >> Hey. Hey.
>> That's right. You got to keep up appearances.
>> What? Spoiler base.
>> Maybe you should have gone to somewhere simple.
>> Yeah, right. Some place you want to go.
>> I've spent the last few years blaming you for the fact that it's that matinea idol in the White House. Not me.
>> Guess I'd rather feel cheated than feel like a failure.
>> Her teller, we're not taking exclusives on this. Actually, give me her number. I'll call her myself. Hold on a second. Let me grab a piece of paper.
>> Uhoh. Here we go.
>> Surveillance.
>> Oh my.
>> You're right. You knew.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> That was a hell of a setup.
>> Wow. Well, cuz I kept thinking about the gun thing.
>> I think that went well.
>> It did. Especially in light of these.
>> People do not know how to hide [ __ ] >> Be careful now. Hell no. I'm going put it on my desk here.
>> 4,359 votes that turned me into a loser. A loser whose whole life had been for nothing.
Two nights ago, I was going to end that life.
>> Gotcha.
>> I was going to shoot myself first so she could see it.
>> She opened and I thought, you have a second chance. A second chance.
And now my approval ratings are through the roof. I can run for any office in the land.
>> Wow. And I just can't help but thinking what a wonderful gift my cheating wife gave.
>> This is so diabolical.
>> Yeah.
>> It's amazing what this feels like.
>> What?
>> Winning.
>> Winning.
>> Ah yeah. Good call. Jeez.
Oh man.
>> What a mess.
>> Mad at my husband.
Dinner is popcorn. Lucky for you, I just opened a bordau that'll bring tears to your eyes.
>> Meer was his wife's lover and he knew it. She cried, which saved her life, but the contractor totally completely premeditated murder.
>> I thought you had attorney client privilege.
>> It's been ages since I've been here.
I've missed you.
>> I've missed you, too. So, why are you mad at your husband?
>> James is working.
>> He's a thorn in my side.
>> That's right.
>> So, separate your work life and your personal life. Impossible. That is difficult.
>> I hear you're keeping company with Dennis Davis again.
>> Oh, >> he wants to. I'm >> How do you hear that?
>> Thinking about it.
>> What's the hold up?
>> Still got feelings for the president.
Maybe >> roads lead to fits.
>> Horses lead to fits.
>> I don't like it when the bad guys get away.
>> You are the bad guys. Mhm.
>> Sundays is pasta and Mondays is sandwiches. But tonight, tonight's my favorite night. They eat pizza.
>> That's what we're doing.
>> She teaches math at the junior high and he's Billy. He sells sporting goods.
>> I thought Red was going to find out something about her.
>> Huh?
>> I thought so, too.
>> Yeah.
>> Thought he was getting ready to look her up.
>> Katie lives right there. And on Sundays, the grandparents come over.
So, what about you? What do you like to do?
This is what I do.
>> This is my hobby.
>> I like to do >> it.
>> Something's something's up.
>> I don't know, man. Like you said, I don't trust anyone.
>> I think he was a target.
>> I'd love to believe that he's found somebody.
>> Maybe. I don't know, man.
>> No, he's going to see something. He's going to see something.
>> And if he keeps looking for a connection between Doy Energy and Sitron, >> then we give him a connection.
>> The wrong connection.
>> Personally, I find these humane mouse traps ineffective.
Wow.
>> But if y'all feel differently, >> we do.
>> Then you have my vote. But just so we're clear, if this plan fails, David Rosen decides he's not going to drop it, then I reserve the right to be a little more >> aggressive. How should I put it?
>> Thorough.
>> Oh my god.
>> The guy you met with at the Gretle Cafe yesterday, he was a plant. So I did a little digging and it turns out that Syron, they weren't just an internet security company. They also developed software.
Like this one program that Quinn's boyfriend was working on. Officially it was used as slot machines >> and unofficially >> voting machines.
>> Oh. Oh, >> I wasn't going to say anything. I swear.
>> No, you did the right thing. Come here.
>> What?
>> I wasn't going to say >> Oh no.
>> You want me to notify the others?
>> What?
>> This one I handle alone. Wow, man.
You got a mole, bro.
>> They're all connected, >> bro. Goodness gracious.
>> By the time this show's over, I forget everything that happened in the show because we've already overwritten it with this new stuff in the last 10 seconds of the show, and I'm still reeling.
>> This is what I call joyful quicksand.
>> You just sink into it, >> man.
Smart way to give the president a break this episode. Send him out of the country to Japan.
>> He's probably working on Tarzan, too.
>> Uh maybe was pregnant. Uh you never know, Junior. Man, that was that was crazy. I mean, it was already crazy knowing about their little uh their little meetings.
>> Yeah, maybe he's working on Ghost, too.
>> Maybe >> not so not such a bad guy after all.
>> Maybe so.
>> Oh, man. Ghost 2, Carl returns as a good guy.
>> You never know. You know, >> every scene leaves you in a situation where you're like, I feel like I got questions.
>> Every single one. And the brilliant thing about the writing is it kind of makes you feel like a detective while you're watching it.
>> Yeah.
>> It makes you feel like you're like Sherlocking your way through the whole thing. Yeah.
>> You're like, "Wait a second. Wait a second. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope." And you're like, "Not going to fool me this time."
>> And then they fool you.
>> Yeah. And you called it with the government, you know, having inside information about what was going on. But he was like so mad. He's like, I can't go home to the home that my wife's lover built. It's like, you won, dude. You murdered him.
>> Like, you have the house.
>> That was a That was >> your wife's lover built.
>> I know. That's great.
>> You get to go home to that.
>> Yeah.
>> And so, but it's all just posturing.
It's all It's all just It's all just for show. It's theatrics.
>> Yeah. I mean, you know, initially the only reason I thought that initially was because only because of the twists in the show. I'm like nothing is face value, right? Right. So that's what she says happened and everything, but it just seems like, oh, there's something something off, you know? But then even though he we got we had the situation resolved, I just kept thinking about that gun because he said he had the gun for 14 years and then Hux found out that he only owned it for like 4 days or something, >> right? They never went back up. Yeah.
Yeah, you're right.
>> But then for a moment there, it's just like, oh, okay, he bought it because he wanted to off himself and I thought for a second that he wanted to off himself, but then he caught her and I don't know.
Anyway, it ended up working out for him and what can you do about it at that point? Like he said, craziness.
>> Yeah, I'm I'm I'm enjoying it.
>> This is an apt title for this show, I tell you that.
>> It's scandalous.
>> It is scandalous.
I was a little bit offended at Huck having all th those things on his screen.
>> It seemed rather sloppy.
>> Can you tell me what um because I I guess I I just I was it wasn't clicking for me. He had the note with the 330.
>> Yeah.
>> So, basically it was it was a plan that it was a it was an agreement between that dude uh Carrie Washington and Huck.
>> So, Huck knew. Yeah. Huck knew. Yeah. It was all set up. They're in it together.
Like I would imagine that Harrison doesn't know much. Obviously Quinn doesn't know much. So the three of them are like a >> need to know.
>> Yeah. Like I mean Huck and Jerry Washington like >> they share information on a level that no one else on the team is privy to.
>> That's right.
>> Yeah. And so it was it was either through through Huck or Huck was just keeping tabs on behalf of Olivia uh that that meeting took place. But it just seemed so sloppy to just have it's like from a lesser sophisticated individual, I would expect such a thing like keeping your password in inside your your drawer somewhere.
>> Yeah.
>> So that just seemed slightly out of character. However, he was a little bit distracted by the potential of this romantic endeavor. And so I'm like, okay, I I guess I'll forgive it. But it just seemed like maybe you'd have a better way of organizing these ideas cuz he's not you saw the way he kept his watches.
>> Yeah.
>> Like it's this character is organized.
Yeah.
>> You know, and so I that seemed out of character to me. I thought she was going to like type in the number and then something was going to click like, oh, this woman is um some kind of agent of some kind.
>> Oh, I I was thinking maybe she was going to look her up for fun, you know, and >> yeah, something like that, discover something. I guess Huck would have never thought that Abby was at or or was having a relationship with David and would ever hear about anything about the 3:30 at that place. So, >> yeah, >> I don't know. But yeah, I think you're right. He was also distracted by this love interest.
>> That's the excuse I'm going to make for it.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Cuz I'm like, he's literally the most sophisticated person in the office >> and he's just going to keep the note like that.
>> The notes out there. Yeah.
>> Yeah, that's true.
>> It's a bit of a plot hole, but we needed Red to discover the information to move the plot forward. So, I'm like, "All right, it's fine. Whatever." Like, it had she had to find out somehow.
>> I just wish they did it in such a way that I like when something's presented to me in such a way that I can understand, but it still feels just smart enough that I don't fully get all of it.
>> You know what I mean? Like, it's like it's smarter than me.
>> Sure.
>> You know, or this does a good job with that.
>> Yeah. Most of the time.
>> That was an instance where I'm like, I didn't feel like you were smarter than me there. That felt like something someone else could have easily come up with. That's just on his computer thing.
>> Yeah. You know, >> I mean, it's so it's there's so many instances of it just having >> I don't even know what to call it. Just being smarter than you, I guess, that I guess every now and then you're going to be there's going to be something that's a little less than that.
>> Yeah, it was it was very very convenient that it was just right there in the open.
>> Likewise with See, okay. Later on, you saw the government had photos in his um little organizer.
>> Yeah, the governor.
>> See, that I believed. He doesn't strike me as someone who is extremely sophisticated with how to keep secrets >> like him having the photos right there.
Totally buy it, >> you know.
>> Yeah.
>> And so, and the way she discovered it, that felt all that felt believable. So, >> yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> What I'm concerned about now is what you mentioned at the near the end is his love interest being some kind of an agent or someone else, you know, because >> she was aggressive.
>> She was. And I just don't trust anyone.
>> Yeah. I just don't trust anyone in this show at all because so we found out so many things about so many people. I just I don't know who to trust. There's no one to trust. Uh also another interesting dynamic is now James is working in the White House. So how's that going to affect things going forward? It's already kind of >> it's going to create problems in >> they're fighting already. It's like day one.
>> Yeah. Is it too late to have a baby?
>> He's going to get that baby.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Or they're not going to survive. I don't know.
>> I guess I wonder I mean I suppose anything's possible. I wonder about a woman hitting on a guy that looks like Huck just because they're both in these meetings.
>> That's what like maybe I'm being judgy, but it just was like she's not not cute.
>> Yeah.
>> He looks like someone that you might want to avoid in real life.
>> The way his whole mannerisms and everything.
>> Yeah. Like he's got like some hardcore RBF >> as someone who had who is part of the RBF club.
>> Same.
>> Yeah. Like I know what it when when people are sort of like concerned about like just because they don't know what you're about because you look like you're angry even though you're not.
You're just you've just got that face.
>> So apparently when I was born my uh my aunt when she was holding me, she like was rubbing my forehead cuz I came out of the womb like this.
>> That'll stick.
>> Don't do your face like that.
>> Yeah.
>> But anyway, all that to say, I'm like I was a little surprised she was hitting on him. But I suppose anything's possible. Like I one of my favorite movies is Punch Drunk Love >> and in that film you had a woman kind of like that who was very much attracted to Adam Sandler's character who was someone that you would typically kind of avoid in real life. So I was like okay well I suppose just for the sake of the story we'll just go with it. I have no idea until the show tells me that she's a secret agent but I'm immediately like I don't know. Yeah, I mean either she is some kind of agent or Yeah, maybe she just felt a kinship with them, you know, just felt like they it was relatable and maybe most of the people in that group might be RBF might have RBF because they've gone through some [ __ ] Yeah.
>> So maybe they're all kind of look moody like that.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't know.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't know.
>> We don't know. But I mean I'm still holding out for him. I hope like cuz he he's been through so much. It'd be cool for him to find a semblance of happiness. I thought it was kind of funny the thing he wanted to share with her like his hobby.
>> Yeah.
>> Is chilling on the street, >> people watching.
>> Following Yeah. Basically following the lives of these people. He knows where they all work and everything about them and who they hang out with.
>> See, that's another thing. The fact that she doesn't just straight up find that creepy. Like obviously they've established in her mannerisms and the way she talks, she's a little bit of a of a strange one.
>> She's odd.
>> But that's still super weird.
I've dated some some interesting characters and if I showed them on a first date, you know what I like to do?
>> I like to my favorite spot.
>> I like to just hang out people's outside of people's homes and just like, you know, tell like watch their their their daily routines and just kind of call it out >> and then she goes and hangs out over there. It's like that's some super stalkery [ __ ] >> Yeah.
>> But >> the weirdest people I've dated would not have gone on a second date >> if that was their if that was our first date.
>> Yeah. If that was like a year into the relationship, then they'd stick around afterwards and be like, "Okay, so why are you doing this?"
>> I mean, some people are into some weird [ __ ] man.
>> Yeah.
>> And some people are into people who are into weird [ __ ] >> Yeah.
>> I don't know. It is kind of weird. Yeah, man. I don't know. This this show is has so many twists and turns, but I love all of them, man. It's so well executed.
It's so amazing to me that they can that the RI in the writer room must be wild just to be able to keep everything together. It's just really well done. It must look like um >> I haven't got tired of this show yet at all. It's so good.
>> It must look like what's his name? Um Charlie Days.
>> It probably does look like that, >> you know.
>> Yeah.
>> I mean, how do you keep track of all of it?
>> There's a lot of moving parts.
>> I don't know. I'm curious to see where this thing's going with Olivia, how she's going to confront Abby >> because obviously she said she's going to take care of it. So, she's probably going to be the one to handle that with her, I guess.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't know, man.
>> All right. Moving forward. It's the next day. Hello. Hello. And we're continuing forward in the Sha Donator Chronicles.
>> And so, uh, we're going to look at Scandal episode, uh, season 2, episode 6. Here we go.
>> Oh, we're walking with intent.
>> Am I too late?
>> Made it just under the wire. Here.
>> Thank you.
>> Who's this guy?
>> New character.
>> It's It's in the truck. Is it going to blow up?
>> Oh my gosh.
Oh, she's going to die.
>> Please don't.
>> The hell. Oh, what did you send?
>> Well, that'll make you upset.
>> That's an opener. Yeah, you're right about that.
>> Like, what's going on?
>> The man opened China >> and that negates war again.
>> No, nothing negates Watergate. Watergate was a catastrophe.
>> And yet you believe Nixon was a great president.
>> I believe he was good at his job. You make me sad.
>> You make me sad.
>> Here we go again with a one blue dress speech.
>> William Jefferson Clinton was brilliant, scholarly, and an immaculate politician.
That can't be undone by one blue dress.
>> Nixon bugged the campaign offices of Democratic candidates. That's not a blue dress.
>> I don't know this blue dress thing.
>> Uh Monica Lewinsky's blue dress had a stain on it.
>> I have several points I'd like to make about Nixon inside your apartment.
>> I am not with you.
>> I also have some intriguing thoughts about Reagan. It's our second date.
>> Reagan Thy, >> I've booked you a bookcase. I've watched you brush your hair. This is not our second date. It's our 4,000th date.
>> Wow.
>> Starting over.
>> True debt.
>> Starting fresh. Second date.
>> Mhm.
>> You got to start all the way back at the beginning, man.
>> Respect her authority.
>> Yeah. What are we going to see? Oh, >> respect her wishes.
>> The mail.
>> That's right. The mail. Maybe we get some answers.
>> Maybe not. powering tomorrow. The Doyle Energy Super Pack >> has donated millions to ballot measures in all five states the proposed pipeline would pass through on its way from Canada to the Gulf.
>> Look who's a boot up.
>> Jeez. All of this. The voting machines.
The explosion.
>> Looks like it.
>> What?
>> Do you want a drawer >> for here?
>> For your socks?
>> It's a move.
>> She's afraid of commitment.
>> She's into it. I mean, next level.
>> This is good, right? I feel like this is good.
>> It's good.
>> Okay. She's into it. It's weird to hope for a a romance that's born out of betrayal.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, boy. She's hurt.
>> Okay.
>> Well, her wife handling things.
>> I'm going to take a shower.
>> It's understandable why someone might respond the way Redhead is.
>> Mhm. I guess uh >> she's going to take a shower. And uh what? I don't know.
>> A dead drop of some kind >> for someone else to pick up.
>> Send a message text.
>> Oh, we maybe he doesn't trust her 100%.
>> Would you?
>> Let's see.
>> Oh, okay.
>> Oh, this could come back.
>> Oh, man.
Got to check up on her, I guess.
>> What happens if she finds out he did that, though?
>> I don't know. Maybe she never finds out.
You wrote an you wrote an article about Hollis Doyle.
>> Front page above the fold.
>> Article about Hollis Doyle.
>> Front page above the fold. Honey, you should be proud of me.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> I was eating Thai noodles. A commercial for Doyle Energy came on and I said something.
>> What did I say, baby?
>> No. Let me refresh your memory by reading it.
>> Oh no.
>> Oh, that is so bad. Hollist oil is a deep fried backwoods inbredad hillbilly and we'd never let him inside the White House if he didn't come with a blank check.
>> Oh [ __ ] >> I quoted a senior White House official.
>> Who might that be?
>> IN THIS TOWN KNOWS THAT I'M YOUR SENIOR White House official.
>> My god, he's going to know right away.
>> According to my editor, it's the best expose anybody has ever written about this administration. They think it's gold. They want more investigative pieces.
>> This is a problem.
>> And they want me to write them. Nobody else. Do you know how rare this air is that I'm breathing? I'm Woodward.
>> He's He's not reading the room.
>> No, he's not. This is really bad for him.
>> You cannot write articles about Hollis Doyle.
>> Watch me.
>> I knew he was going to say, "WATCH ME."
>> YOU got to do it without him, though.
>> Rough marriage.
>> Neither of them are backing down.
>> No.
>> One of us needs Steven's office. No one is getting that office.
>> You can't just sit there empty.
>> Poor Steven.
Why is someone sending you sheet music and a check for $100,000? Who's it from?
Doesn't say.
>> Diovani reproducing office now.
>> There's a code in there. He's going to see it.
>> Classic spy craft goes all the way back to the opair of NAZI INTELLIGENCE.
>> OH. OH.
>> WHAT?
>> Protect them.
>> Protect who?
>> Well, these are names.
>> Names of who?
>> Spies, I think.
>> Spies. How do you tell their spies?
>> Who's this name here?
>> That's me.
>> Uh. Oh [ __ ] Oh damn. Oh [ __ ] >> Oh damn. I see my name. See, that's how I know it's a spy.
>> Oh [ __ ] I didn't know that about you.
>> Man shot himself in the head right out on the street. Broad daylight. A Robert Brooks bring a bell hawk. There's a photo.
>> That's Crosby.
>> Who's Crosby? Or >> Oh [ __ ] Another agent.
>> This is bad. This is very bad.
>> Why himself in public? What is that?
Some kind of way of the samurai honor killing business.
>> He did it in public so we'd know. No, it wasn't a hit. This is very, very bad.
>> Okay. Bad how?
>> Yeah. Bad for you or bad for everybody?
>> Bad like I stubbed my toe?
>> Yeah.
>> Or bad like I fell on the stairs and broke my neck. So all these other names, are they also killer spies?
>> Oh. Oh, he's got a bag. He's got to go somewhere.
>> If my name and not my real name, but Hawk, my name, the alias that goes with this life at Pope and Associates. If my name is on a list, it's time to disappear.
>> Crosby sent the list to me. The check is in my name, too. So, whatever this is, whatever I'm supposed to protect you against, it's in my wheelhouse, not yours. And that means we can fix this.
>> Let me take care of this.
>> Wow. I'll take care of you.
>> She has a point though.
>> I can give you 24 hours.
>> Still scary. Yeah. Okay. Compromise.
>> You know, while she conceals a lot of information, it seems that she would do anything for her team.
>> Yep. That's right. She really does care for them.
>> No one enjoys a print licking, but a tarantulled out by what I hear is your boyfriend. We're married. Actually, >> your wife then.
>> The wife?
>> Oh, sorry. I assumed you were the, you know, >> two husbands.
>> Wasn't trying to imply nothing about what y'all get up to. None of my problems are your problems. And if things blow up, in the end, they'll be his. You and your husband call each other whatever you please. But put your wife on a leash.
>> Oh my gosh, that sir is offensive.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> International mask hacker. No one's ever seen his face. No one knows his real identity. just walks around like this everywhere he goes.
>> Yeah, right.
>> Champagne at the Pentagon when he was reported dead.
>> According to the web, that was staged.
Sarnoff's been underground for two years. And based on all the hacker chatter, now he's back.
>> I need to know if info B613 goes public.
How bad is it?
>> Let's just say we did things. Things that would make it hard for you to sing the national anthem and mean it.
>> Damn.
>> We were the bad guys.
>> Little surprised Anonymous hasn't spilled the beans on this. And he's got an army of hackers covering his trucks.
>> There's two, I bet. Find out who represents him. Sarnoff's a big fish client. There are only six attorneys in town he could be working with. Find out which one? Get me a meeting.
>> Where's Nigel Sarnoff?
>> He's right here.
>> Oh, clever.
>> In this case, you're blowing the cover of the B613 participants, ruining the lives of people who've long since retired >> from torture coups assassinations. These are hardly innocents, Miss Pope. They have blood on their hands.
>> So, what are you waiting for then?
>> The next news cycle.
>> What do you get out of it?
>> This revelation about government corruption deserves the public's utmost attention.
>> Okay.
>> Wow.
>> What does he gain?
>> Like that? I don't know. Just exposure.
I don't know. Or expos. Not his own exposure.
>> Sarnoff's bluffing. He doesn't have the goods yet. If he did, he would have released them already. So, if no one else knew about the program, one of the names on that list is someone who's going to give him documentation of B613.
Oh, >> however you call them in, I need you to do it now because one of those spies is the leak and we're going to find out which one.
>> Mm- Oh god, >> this is wild. Woo! Going against pros now. There was some movie I saw, I think, with Charlies Throne that dealt with something like this. Was it Charlie Therone? I forget.
>> What is that?
Uh, shortwave radio, a number station, our number station, B613.
>> Is it some kind of spy code?
>> They give you a frequency and every day you listen.
>> That sounds fake, >> huh?
>> You listen every day and every day there's no message. Years go by, decades, and there's no message. But then one day you listen >> and the code word comes.
>> Crazy. Like a sleeper.
>> Then what happens?
>> It's time to come home.
>> That's crazy [ __ ] >> I'm heading home.
Keep an eye on Huck.
>> Things are getting weird in this office.
>> I don't know what you're talking about.
>> Quinn's the Molotov mistress who's just barely stopped asking questions. Huck's an assassin and Abby sleeping with a USA David Rose.
>> Oh, >> it's getting weird.
>> Oh, he knows.
>> What do you need, Harrison?
>> What do you need?
Tell me what you need and I will do it no matter what.
Hm.
>> The night I got arrested, you came and sat with me in a holding cell for hours.
>> It was my job.
>> Don't insult me by calling me your job, cuz I'm not your job. I'm your family.
I'm your gladiator. And that is not a job to me.
>> Right now, you need me. So, no questions asked, no matter what. Whatever you need.
>> Wow.
>> Abby and David can't be together. I can't tell you why, but they can't.
Okay.
>> Consider it handled.
>> H. How does he break them up?
>> I don't know.
>> Her ex-husband used to be her.
>> You might want to use >> Oh my god.
>> Boy, it's first time we've seen those two like that, you know.
>> Yeah.
>> Hello.
>> Oh boy.
>> Front page of the times.
>> If I intervene, if I hurt him, he will hate me. It doesn't matter because in the long run, >> it saves his life.
>> Keeping him from looking into Hollis saves his life.
>> You do what needs to be done no matter what.
>> That's serious.
>> How is he?
>> He's fine. He's in London.
>> He met the queen. Apparently, he told her a joke and she laughed. They have it on film. She never laughs.
>> Oh, wow.
>> Why don't we see any of this? It's interesting.
>> He's taking some time off, I guess.
>> Yeah.
>> Told you he's pregnant.
Here we go.
>> Done.
>> Oh, who's this?
>> I just want to be clear. I'm only doing this for the money. David Rosen's a good guy.
>> Oh my gosh.
Wow. Setting him up. That sucks.
>> They're here.
>> I don't hear anything.
>> He knows.
I feel like it's going to be something we don't expect.
>> The hell are you?
>> Spin.
>> I need you scrubbed.
>> Spin.
>> I'm a mother of three. You think I still carry?
>> Question is how much? Oh, look at that face change.
>> Fine.
>> Damn. flagging everybody too. Damn.
I just remembered the other show I watched that feels like close to this is Sherlock. Oh, okay.
>> That's Paul Gray. When I worked with him in the '9s, he spoke 17 languages and could kill a man in at least that many ways.
>> Now he's a professor upstate New York.
Divorced probably from sleeping with his students.
>> What?
>> That's Melvin Fiend. He was able to go days without sleep and that wasn't even his real talent.
his real talent.
>> Knowing how much pain a person could tolerate before he killed them.
>> They just look like normal people.
>> Uh-huh.
>> That's is crazy.
>> I guess that makes it good, right?
>> Yeah. That's what makes them great spies is they're unassuming.
>> She could always make it look like an accident.
>> Huh?
>> Who?
>> Charlie. I don't know what he's been up to lately, but >> Oh, >> Charlie said they called when they needed someone disappeared.
>> Hey. Hey.
>> Long time no see, buddy.
>> They all just look like normal people.
Uhhuh.
>> You too.
>> Can't be popping anybody. Huck.
>> I have arthritis.
>> I just got tenure and I like my life now. I like who I am. I like this name, my house, my friends, my students.
>> I have arthritis. I'm not running.
>> Who is it?
>> You've earned back a piece of your souls. And even if you were able to find Zernov and kill him, he's got an army of hackers to take his place.
Maybe you'd be able to keep your name, but otherwise it'd be just like being on the run. Is that understood?
>> You'll hear from me when there's something to report.
>> Okay. So, they're just going to hang out here like that.
>> Wow.
>> Oh, I guess so.
>> Jeez.
>> Oh, damn.
>> Oh, boy. You know what that's from?
>> Yeah.
>> What?
I'm just thinking about all that progress we've made. H >> surprised to see him back in here.
>> One of these people is the leak and we have to figure out who.
>> Abby and I will be on background.
>> Aren't these people all masters of deception?
>> But their new lives might provide clues as who may be the source of the leak.
Maybe someone's in financial trouble spending money they don't have buying.
>> Quinn, you monitor outgoing calls. Hawk set up her surveillance feed in his office.
>> Mhm.
Why would you want to drink coffee in a situation like this?
>> I went back to med school thinking that, you know, maybe I would save a few lives. And then I realized the real reason I wanted to be a doctor, to cut people up.
>> Dr. Blanchard. Uh, yes. I have the prescription right here.
>> It's RX number 002301151.
>> Is it code?
>> Maybe.
>> Did he deliberately skip out on the bill or did he forget to pay? Give me his number.
>> All of it.
>> Good job, man.
Becky, it's me. I'm just calling and say, "Hey."
>> Huh?
>> So, if you want to, you just give me a call.
>> Oh, dang.
>> How is Becky?
>> Did we find out what those photos like?
What came up?
>> No, he didn't run it. I don't think she talked him out of it. I have a feeling that's going to, like you said, going to come back.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Maybe she's the one somehow. I don't know.
>> Okay. Why in the 21st century am I looking at documents on a machine that has a knob?
>> Microfish.
>> All I'm saying is I think a few of my tax dollars could have gone toward a scanner.
We're not going to find a thing in the public record. These guys are professional liars. Their backgrounds are perfect.
>> Scanning these documents would have been a good move cuz then you can look at it from anywhere in the world.
>> Mhm. That's right.
>> Business cuz you've been coming in late and you've been smiling and you and David Rosen are a thing.
>> I know I was getting on you about Steven's office before, but I love you like a sister. And I just want to make sure that anyone you're with is worthy of you.
>> He's good. Well, love you like a sister means they're never getting together.
>> Nope. Making that clear.
>> It's time for a plan B. I'll be there soon.
>> Wait, how soon? Like like in an hour soon.
>> Quinn, you can do this. You just need to keep everyone happy. Distract them.
Whatever it >> Good luck.
>> The hell?
>> David's not a bad guy. He's a good guy.
For once in my whole life, I got >> What happened?
>> What's going on in there, Quinn?
>> They didn't give up all their guns.
That's what I thought. Like y'all didn't do you didn't do a bond.
>> They're all [ __ ] turning on each other now.
>> Should have done a boop boop.
>> But lucky for you, there's another plan in place and her name is Olivia Pope and she'll be here any minute. And here you all thought you had a problem. You don't.
>> Why is Hawk participating in this? Come on, be better, Huck. Come on, >> Huck be a leader, too.
>> Exactly. Don't add to the mad mutually assured destruction.
>> Yeah, for sure.
>> Wow, look at you.
>> Okay, pretty calm. Pretty calm.
>> Talking supplies off the ledge.
>> Mhm.
>> Now, uh just hand me your weapons and >> Oh [ __ ] Or not.
>> Hang on to those and uh just hang tight.
>> He put buds himself. They finger on the trigger. Jeez.
>> She has a plan though, right?
>> I think so.
>> You think so?
>> She's a vague person. Very vague. Well, whatever it is, it better work cuz this suit is way too nice to be marred by holes in blood.
>> That's the problem.
>> My underwear is brown. Yeah.
>> Yeah. It doesn't feel good having guns trained on you by superkillers, >> right?
>> Honey, come in.
>> Oh, boy.
>> Come in.
>> Here we go. We're going to straighten you out.
>> You're trying to intimidate me with the Oval Office. I know you've always wanted to come in here.
>> Oh, playing nicey nicy.
>> You did me a big favor because now I have an excuse to ban that racist, sexist, homophobic son of a [ __ ] from the White House on the basis of optics and not just personal distaste.
>> But >> I'm going to lose my job. The president is going to fire me at few articles on Howard Dotoy continue. Not tomorrow, but soon. Because I'm making him look bad.
And >> he's lying.
>> Yep.
>> To stop writing about Hollis Doyle. I wouldn't do that. I love you and I am proud of you.
>> Manipulating him.
>> Gosh, totally manipulating him.
>> I need you to know.
Are you ready about how Les Doyle affects me?
>> Oh my gosh, it worked. It's working.
>> I won't. Okay, I won't. I don't mean No, it's okay. I understand. I'm sorry.
>> I won't.
>> This is so shady.
>> He knows him.
>> Yes. I love you. I love you, too.
>> He Come on, dude. Come on.
>> Oh my god. Crocodile tears.
>> Jeremy Pivven can't see this. Can't see past this, >> right?
>> He doesn't know who he married.
>> Are we looking up? Yep. Looking up, David.
>> He got Harrison got in her head.
>> Yep.
>> So, what do we uncover?
>> I don't know. Something about that girl.
>> They will find you. They will torture you. They'll get what they need from you. And then they will kill you. All I know is I released the money 2 hours ago >> to who?
>> A bank account.
>> Whose account?
>> I don't know.
>> Oh god. Come on, Barry.
>> Write it down.
>> Start there.
>> Screw lawyer client confidentiality.
He's like, I quit.
>> Those first two letters, >> that means it's Swiss.
>> Which means >> we can't have a Swiss bank account.
>> Oh, actually not in the two hours we have left. We can >> do a lot in 2 hours. Huh? No, we can't.
Game over.
>> Whoa.
>> Oh my gosh.
>> Huck.
>> I won't leave without saying goodbye. I won't.
>> Okay.
>> But go home, please.
>> Wow.
>> Go home.
>> We're in my wheelhouse now.
>> Oh, he's going to murder all of them. I don't know. Maybe.
>> This is the Swiss bank account that Sarnoff paid money to.
>> Okay.
>> That prescription you called in, Doc.
your Rex number.
>> Uh, yes. I have the prescription right here. Yes, it's RX number 0.
>> Oh, shoot. It was >> 350 mg each.
>> [ __ ] It was him.
>> 350 mg each.
>> Why?
>> In the storage locker, just like you said.
>> Good. You need to go home.
>> What about >> Abby, Quinn, Olivia? They're home.
>> Go home, Harrison.
>> Go home, Harrison. You almost [ __ ] your pants earlier anyway.
>> I would have. Hell yeah. [ __ ] >> Now it's just a matter of tying up loose ends.
>> What?
>> All right. If you won't, I will.
>> No, Charlie, you won't.
>> Damn. You're going to mess up the office, man.
>> There's this girl I like. Her name is You know what? I'm not going to tell you what her name is cuz you're all like me.
>> Exactly.
>> I like her and she's good. She doesn't ask a lot of questions, but I know her really well cuz she's normal.
>> Mhm.
>> She will never know me.
>> Okay.
>> I'm a soldier.
>> Just like you guys.
>> We served our country, but nobody gets to know that. There's no parade. There are no medals.
>> Thankless.
>> Yep.
>> Melvin just wanted someone to know. He wanted to stop pretending to be something he wasn't. He just wanted to feel free, to feel normal. All right.
>> Okay.
>> I think they got to kill Melvin.
>> I don't know if we could trust Melvin, man.
>> Maybe we Maybe we scared him enough.
>> I wish you'd gone all over Oprah before you whipped out that drill.
>> Oh, done.
>> We better start cleaning up.
>> I have some plastic bags in the car.
>> Oh, man. He's like, "Damn it, I didn't get to do that."
>> He tried.
>> He tried.
>> He did try.
>> He tried. He gave it his best effort.
It's important for us as the audience that he tried.
>> Uhhuh.
Shh. Hydrochloric acid. Maybe.
>> Sit as still as you can, Huck.
>> Yeah.
>> We're going to shoot all this.
>> I just care that you're still here. I couldn't handle it if you're important to me. She >> She's definitely not devoid of attachment >> for Spinster.
>> What is >> Spinster?
>> Oh [ __ ] That sucks. I never thought I'd meet somebody.
>> Gotcha.
Well, you met somebody.
Dang it. What did we find?
>> Abby.
>> Oh, boy.
>> Pretty sure it's here. I just have to find it.
>> Find what? Abby.
>> Got it.
>> Abby, >> let's talk. Teresa Dunn. She worked at the Georgetown Tavern when you were in law school. You dated for three months.
What does my ex from 20 years ago have to do with you?
>> Hospital photos of Terresa Dunn's in >> Oh my god. Oh my god.
>> What? Did daddy clear your record so you could pass the bar?
>> She fell down a flight of stairs.
>> She fell. She fell.
>> And we were having an argument. Yes. But she took off and fell down those stairs.
She fell. I didn't touch her.
>> H. Where have I heard that before?
>> Oh my god.
>> Dang.
>> I fell to >> Oh jeez.
>> Did you investigate me before you slept with me or after? Before Before we ever met at that bar, I was investigating everyone at Pope and Associates.
>> This sucks. Yeah, it really does.
>> Teresa Dunn is lying. And I don't know why, but that's not what upsets me. What upsets me is that you haven't even given me a chance. Hasn't even occurred to you that I might be worth the benefit of the doubt.
>> You're a bad guy. You look like a good guy. But >> Oh, he's he looks like >> you touch me again, I will kill you. And I mean that.
>> Oh, no.
I really feel bad for David. Actually, >> he can't catch a W.
>> No, man. He keeps getting screwed.
>> He should go straight to Olivia.
>> Be like, "Why are you doing this? Why are you taking my girlfriend away from me?"
>> Oh, >> if I found out what Olivia did, I would never forgive her.
>> Go nuclear.
>> I knew it would hurt you, and I'm sorry.
It's okay.
>> I would never forgive her.
>> No, man. She cut as deep as you can cut.
She used her past against her.
>> Mhm.
>> It's gonna be okay.
>> Yeah.
Boy, he feels bad.
>> The way he looked at her.
>> She got the office.
>> Yeah. Harrison's got a got weight.
>> Yeah, man.
>> Carrying.
>> Jeez.
>> Back to life. the last person you ever saw.
>> That is so funny. Yeah, exactly.
>> That's why she's good.
>> They just live amongst you.
>> You never know who you've met.
>> Yeah, exactly.
>> What are we doing?
>> I'm surprised he he he hasn't put it together.
>> I know. You would think so.
>> He seems like he's pretty smart. Like >> he is.
>> Oh, there we go. We're starting over again.
>> Uhhuh. Oh, >> invite me in. It's time because I am a man and I don't play games and you and I are very good together. So, >> so let me in now or I walk away.
>> Wow. Oh, boy. She can't do it.
>> Liv, >> she feeling bad about what she did.
>> Bab, are you okay?
>> Whoa. Okay. Okay. Is she crying about >> the fact that she had to mislead someone she cares about?
>> That's what it feels like >> to rub them back in. Or is she crying at the gesture or all of the above? Or is it just is the fact that she misses the president?
>> I don't know. We haven't touched on that.
>> It could be so many things.
>> It could be probably one of those first two things. I don't think it's the president just because we haven't even talked about him recently.
>> Mhm.
>> At all. There's no hints. Probably feels very bad about what she did to her friend, though. Or maybe she's crying at the fact that there's not going to be a fourth season of Glow.
>> She could be.
>> It could be anything.
>> Just ended like that.
>> Yeah, >> this one was fun with the uh with the other agents and everything and finding out their secret identities and all of that.
>> Yeah, the way it was set up, I was like, I'm pretty sure this is going to be um a misdirect of some kind. And like cuz you're expecting like some James Bondesque kind of people to come through or people that look like um >> Jason Stathithm or something like spies >> and I I was expectation I'm like I feel like this is going to be regular >> like just regular folk.
>> They really were.
>> My first expectation was immediately a woman. I wasn't sure what kind of woman but a woman that just was like just looked like a commoner that you'd might pass by in the streets.
>> Yeah. And then uh and there's a bunch of them like that. Just different lives leading their lives and it it like it's kind of >> scary like >> Yeah, but it makes sense.
>> They're they're invisible. Like there you have no way of there's no hint.
>> No, >> you know, but it makes sense because okay, in in movies your your secret agents are like really good-looking and you know, dashing and fit and all of these things that you think of when you think of a 007 type character, >> but that really stands out.
>> Yeah. So when you're talking real life, yeah, you'd want somebody who just blends right in who you'd never expect.
>> You haven't seen Sherlock, right? The BBC show.
>> I haven't.
>> Yeah. So there's something like this in the BBC show of Sherlock. And it's like, >> wait, what? Who? This person? No way.
>> And the show seems to kind of tuck it away and then it comes back and it's like, oh, like this is really some deep cover [ __ ] And like it reveals itself over the course of the show.
>> Yeah.
>> But it's there's like a kind of like this. There's like a group of people, like five of them, who all had each other's backs. Like there was a loyalty in this group.
>> Yeah.
>> Um they were like super spy [ __ ] Yeah.
>> Yeah. That's a lot of fun.
>> Yeah. We, you know, we haven't seen the president for >> I don't know why my brain went to Charlies their own. I was like, we're cuz it was like I could feel it in my mind and it's like while I was watching it, there was a parallel thing in my mind's eye going in my mind and I don't know where it's from and I know I watched it recently.
In fact, it's on my chest.
>> Oh my god. Speaking of which, check out the new merch.
>> Um, so anyway, >> yeah. No, well, I mean, she does movies like that. I mean, there's like Atomic Blonde and stuff like that where she plays a really cool character. Anyway, >> um, yeah. Yeah, the president though, I guess he was working on something.
That's why he's he's at this summit G8 or whatever.
>> Tarzan 3.
>> That's what it was.
>> Ghost 2. Carl returns.
>> That's a good guy.
Carl goes to dinner and meets Jabby Ko.
>> Yeah, exactly.
>> Um, >> no. So, yeah, the they they're making this is um so tricky because it makes you look at at Olivia differently.
>> Mhm.
>> And it makes you ask questions about what you would do if you were in Olivia's position without knowing the full details. Kind of like how you felt about the president initially until later episodes revealed what was going on with him through flashbacks and whatnot. Then you have a different perspective on the matter. So, I'm like, I don't have the full intel on what's going on with Olivia. So, it's hard to make a judgment call, but with limited information that they presented so far, if I'm read >> and I discover what Olivia did, that would be the end of it.
>> Yeah.
>> You know, >> Olivia, we see >> scorched earth.
>> Yeah. She's okay with doing whatever she needs to do for the greater good. Yeah.
>> Pretty much. To me, initially, I'm thinking, why don't you just talk to her? Like, we don't she's not even aware that you know about her and David. But then again, if you talk to her and she doesn't stop seeing him, then she's a prime suspect if something happens with David. David, right?
>> So, yeah, I guess you can't go at it in that direction either.
>> I feel bad for David.
>> Me, too, man. He got screwed by her.
>> Yeah.
>> Like three times already. There was that big case, of course, which he should have won. Um, I'm glad you didn't because you know, Quinn, I'm glad he didn't. But, you know, that was a that was gutting. And then this, of course, with his love life. He's got that Bob Saget came out of the oven. A little quick look about him, you know? What does that mean? I know what it means, but what does it mean?
>> Cuz he looks kind of like Bob Saget sometimes.
>> He kind of does.
>> Just came out of the oven a little quick.
>> He's not fully formed Bob Saget.
>> Yeah, Bob Saget's tall, you know? Rest in peace.
>> Tall linky dude.
>> Oh, but like this dude's obviously like on the not so tall side.
>> Yeah, he's got a good build though. Uh, but I feel bad for him cuz he's like cuz she's she's like, "You're a bad guy and you look like a good guy." And it's like the truth of the matter. We all know he is a good guy.
>> He's a good guy.
>> And that sucks and it makes you kind of root for him.
>> Some of these people like they're the >> they're the protagonists of the show.
Yeah.
>> But they're all they're pretty dark and they'll go pretty far.
>> Like I mean Cyrus isn't really a protagonist. He's kind of he plays both sides of the fence. But man, the way he is with his husband, >> that manipulation, I mean, he pulled out the crying and everything and then as soon as he was done, he goes right back to whatever he was doing, like nothing.
Like the things I have to do.
>> What do they call that in um in in a story where your protagonist is not necessarily like it's an anti-hero?
Yeah, they're anti-heroes. That's what it is. It's a collection of anti-heroes.
It really is. And but it's all done with the tone of fun >> and that's what makes it even more confusing sometimes. It's like it's all done kind of just like oh this is peppy and cool and and stylistic and I'm like no but some of these things are very awful things.
>> Yeah. The show does a pretty good job with humor. Yeah. Um but yeah it's like things that aren't really funny. Yeah.
>> Um >> yeah it's pretty it's pretty funny though. Yeah.
>> It's it's um irreverent I guess because like Cyrus lying to his husband that way. It's like that sucks.
>> Yeah.
>> That that's another thing. It's like if I found that out, I don't know that I'd ever like come back from that. That he's the way he's being manipulated. So >> that's the most important thing to you that your career and that big win that you had, >> you know, and now you're you're just completely shutting that off and not pursuing that anymore just because of of the way it makes your husband feel or put his job in jeopardy. So, uh, an ex-girlfriend of mine, uh, was taking this, uh, psychology class, and she told me about a lesson that her instructor was talking about, and it was a lesson about how you could literally make people do anything you want >> just with the right persuasion, and it was really scary, right?
>> And so, the teacher did an experiment to see if he could get his girlfriend to study in the closet.
>> Okay, >> that was it. It was that simple. Can I get her to study in the closet? And it was a matter of like slowly manipulating the environment where more and more and more it made sense to shift literally into the closet and study in the closet.
>> And she did it and it was successful.
And then she found out that it was an experiment and she immediately broke up with it.
>> No, >> but it's for science.
>> Yeah. But it's but it's like that's not okay. Like >> Well, no. I guess but it's not like it was a big deal. I guess >> I don't I I in in at the time when I found out she broke up with him, I was like that's stupid.
>> Yeah.
>> Now, years removed from it, I'm like I completely understand why she broke up with him.
>> I guess it's how you frame it cuz like I feel like if my wife were to do something like that to me and was like and was like, >> "Hey, yeah."
And if she was like, "Oh, by the way, haha, got you. I did that for my class or whatever." I think it would be funny, you know? But I guess it also depends on the person. You know, you might really not like that. Obviously, she did not like that at all.
>> I I wouldn't I I I'm under the um belief I'm I'm of the belief that we are all inadvertently uh without knowing kind of manipulating each other all the time.
>> And sometimes there are power moves done in negotiation or conversation in an effort to get things your way. However, there there's a line and the line is I'm studying in the closet because you tricked me. So, like >> Well, yeah. I mean, yes, you're right.
People manipulate in certain ways. The the most powerful form of manipulation to me is when it's genuine. So, there's like um there's something in it for there's something true about it, but you're also getting something that you're aiming for, right? But you're not necessarily lying or playing anyone.
It's it's true, but you maybe are packaging it in a way that might be able to to you be able to get get what you're looking for. You ever read the the book How to Win Friends and Influence People >> like the first chapter or two? Yeah.
>> Okay. You got through the Lincoln stuff.
Okay. Um >> I've read something about a mafia guy and his his inability to see that he's a bad dude.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's I mean it's like it's it's a really great book, but it's you know you're you're you're treating people well with sincerity, but in the end it also helps you to influence them and also win friends.
>> Sure. Sure.
>> Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, what you say is >> Yeah. I don't I just don't like the idea of knowing being that I'm being manipulated by my partner. There's something about that. It's like I would never want to know.
>> Yeah.
>> Don't ever tell me cuz I will I will just end the relationship potentially.
how many things I've made you do while we've been here just today.
>> I would never want to know. It's one of those things I I like I prefer the head in the sand sort of >> reality of things.
>> It's like as every time I say that, people are shocked in the comments of like the things I wouldn't want to know.
I'm like we all live like this. Okay, just so we're clear. Every every one of us >> where the where did it go? Oh, my sister has it because she's on the phone with the tech support like this right here.
Yeah, >> this was made by, you know, children in China or people in working in really really bad conditions >> and we just actively ignore this all the time >> in order to just live our lives because that's like that's a lot of of weight to bear and >> you can't go out and and live your life anymore without a phone.
>> So, it's like this messed up conundrum.
You need shoes, you know? So, >> he makes those.
>> Yeah. And so, it's like these are made by people in bad conditions all the and we just actively don't think about it.
If you look at the tag on your shirt, I'm sure it's the same thing. If I look at the back of the TV, it's probably made in, you know, and and so I prefer to just live in ignorance for as much as I can because otherwise I'm just going to be sad all the time.
>> It makes sense, you know. To some degree, it does make sense for, you know, >> so I would never want to know if if my partner manipulated me.
>> Sure. I mean, everything in this room has something like that tied to it. It's like, what are you going to do like not use anything? Yeah.
>> Um, yeah. So, yeah, I get that for sure.
>> Yeah.
>> Something. So, that's why you have to be careful what you ask for. Don't ask certain questions that can you handle the answer. Yeah.
>> You might not like the answer. It might [ __ ] you up.
>> Yeah.
>> So, yeah, it's you're right. Some some things are maybe better if you don't know. Unless you're mentally prepared to handle what comes.
>> I'm not.
>> Yeah.
>> Well, you're also a person that's hyperfocused on certain things, right?
So, yeah, you might hear something like that and just obsess over it.
>> Yes. Yeah.
>> Like, okay, many of you guys are are wouldn't know this without me saying it right now. In the middle of the show, the internet just stopped working and I've been having internet issues here intermittently once a month. This time it's twice this month, which is just like made me a little crazy.
>> So, I asked my sister if she could handle talking to AT&T, but there's still a part of me that's like, "But it's not finished. I need to handle this." So, I had to like actively try.
It took all of me to like ignore it and focus on the show.
>> Yeah. You know, >> that's hard, man. Switch it off like that. Yeah. It's really difficult.
>> I forgot where I was going with this.
Anyway, >> you you're you were saying that, you know, sometimes you don't want to know because you might act.
>> It was It was It was Dane Dane Cook. Is that the name of the comedian?
>> Yeah, there is a comedian. He was uh talking about how he had a whole bit about cheating in one of his specials.
Probably his most successful special.
And there's the problem with cheating is that it makes you assume things about your partner.
>> That's right. That's true. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. I've heard that.
>> And then he's like you everything she's doing now now you're like now you're asking questions and you're looking through her [ __ ] as if you're going to find a her purse.
>> I found it.
>> Yeah. Exactly. You might actually. Yeah.
So, but all bringing it all back to this. It's like the level of manipulation here >> would be quite upsetting. I don't know that I'd be able to forgive someone.
>> God dog. And everybody's manipulating everyone. Even Harrison and Abby who get along great. They're he's manipulating her. She's manipulate. Everybody's manipulating someone to some degree.
>> That said, everyone's in on this highlevel super secret stuff that most of society gets to be ignorant to. Mhm.
>> So maybe when you're playing in that world, it doesn't mean as much to you.
Like it might be as silly as like when we were watch we watched an Indian film called Fukri >> and uh in the movie there's a woman who's trying to manip was trying to kill the main characters, but one of those main characters is mad in love with her and doesn't give a [ __ ] about the fact that this woman has tried to end him multiple times. He's still in love.
>> Still in love.
>> Helplessly in love and just like wants to be with her so bad.
>> That's true. And I'm like, maybe it's kind of like that where it's like you just >> part for the course. This is the world we live in.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> So fun episode nonetheless.
>> Yeah, man.
>> And looking forward to the next few you guys. Thanks so much for hanging with us. I'm Jabby Kay. This is >> Brandon Chile. Peace out.
