Like they're no one is ever saying exactly what they feel, >> right? Even just in regular conversation, you're never saying with 100% transparency, you're not going to see all the way to the the bottom of my iceberg when I'm talking to you cuz like we're all wearing masks all the time, right? And so we're all conveying information in a way that is like socially acceptable. So there's always some modeicum of lying, but like in in TV shows and in movies, like it's really important to follow that rule where characters are speaking through nuance.

[00:28:54]And so likewise here you had a Huck like very overtly masking ex like what he's talking about through code and whatnot, >> right? The whiskey thing.

So, it's hard to make a judgment call, but with limited information that they presented so far, if I'm read >> and I discover what Olivia did, that would be the end of it.

So, uh, an ex-girlfriend of mine, uh, was taking this, uh, psychology class, and she told me about a lesson that her instructor was talking about, and it was a lesson about how you could literally make people do anything you want >> just with the right persuasion, and it was really scary, right?

[01:40:33]People manipulate in certain ways. The the most powerful form of manipulation to me is when it's genuine. So, there's like um there's something in it for there's something true about it, but you're also getting something that you're aiming for, right? But you're not necessarily lying or playing anyone.

[01:40:51]It's it's true, but you maybe are packaging it in a way that might be able to to you be able to get get what you're looking for. You ever read the the book How to Win Friends and Influence People >> like the first chapter or two? Yeah.

In the middle of the show, the internet just stopped working and I've been having internet issues here intermittently once a month. This time it's twice this month, which is just like made me a little crazy.

[01:43:36]>> So, I asked my sister if she could handle talking to AT&T, but there's still a part of me that's like, "But it's not finished. I need to handle this." So, I had to like actively try.

[01:43:45]It took all of me to like ignore it and focus on the show.

[01:43:48]>> Yeah. You know, >> that's hard, man. Switch it off like that. Yeah. It's really difficult.

[01:43:51]>> I forgot where I was going with this.

[01:43:52]Anyway, >> you you're you were saying that, you know, sometimes you don't want to know because you might act.

[01:43:57]>> It was It was It was Dane Dane Cook. Is that the name of the comedian?

[01:44:00]>> Yeah, there is a comedian. He was uh talking about how he had a whole bit about cheating in one of his specials.

[01:44:06]Probably his most successful special.

[01:44:08]And there's the problem with cheating is that it makes you assume things about your partner.

[01:44:13]>> That's right. That's true. Yeah. Yeah.

[01:44:15]Yeah. I've heard that.

[01:44:16]>> And then he's like you everything she's doing now now you're like now you're asking questions and you're looking through her [ __ ] as if you're going to find a her purse.

[01:44:27]>> I found it.

[01:44:28]>> Yeah. Exactly. You might actually. Yeah.

[01:44:30]So, but all bringing it all back to this. It's like the level of manipulation here >> would be quite upsetting. I don't know that I'd be able to forgive someone.

[01:44:38]>> God dog. And everybody's manipulating everyone. Even Harrison and Abby who get along great. They're he's manipulating her. She's manipulate. Everybody's manipulating someone to some degree.

[01:44:49]>> That said, everyone's in on this highlevel super secret stuff that most of society gets to be ignorant to. Mhm.

[01:44:57]>> So maybe when you're playing in that world, it doesn't mean as much to you.

[01:45:01]Like it might be as silly as like when we were watch we watched an Indian film called Fukri >> and uh in the movie there's a woman who's trying to manip was trying to kill the main characters, but one of those main characters is mad in love with her and doesn't give a [ __ ] about the fact that this woman has tried to end him multiple times. He's still in love.

[01:45:20]>> Still in love.

[01:45:20]>> Helplessly in love and just like wants to be with her so bad.

[01:45:23]>> That's true. And I'm like, maybe it's kind of like that where it's like you just >> part for the course. This is the world we live in.

[01:45:29]>> Yeah.

[01:45:29]>> Yeah.

[01:45:30]>> So fun episode nonetheless.
