[00:00:00]I think a question that would be really good for us to be able to answer or for everybody to be able to answer is you're at a party, you're at dinner, you're in someone's backyard, and someone asks the question, what is a peptide? What's an answer I can give?

[00:00:11]>> I mean it's a it's a chain of amino acids that can signal different [music] aspects of the body to change. So, let's say the body runs on this genetic code, right? It goes DNA, RNA, proteins.

[00:00:19][music] That's like biology 101, first day biology you learn that. You have your DNA, your DNA gets encoded into RNA, the RNA gets transcribed, translated, now it's protein. These proteins go do different things in the body. So, you have protein that's going to control your skin and your heart and the heart muscles and and different things that exist within biology. Now, these proteins, smaller fragments of them, are called peptides. So, proteins are made of amino acids and so are peptides. So, these peptides can be used can be hormones, they can be signaling molecules, they can be epigenetic enhancers or down regulators. So, that's why I really hate the term peptide uh and I think I made that clear because I don't think it exists as a category in people's minds. Scientifically it does exist, but colloquially, so let's forget about scientifically, colloquially peptides are these mostly injectable, sometimes orally available, chains of amino [music] acids that can find a body.
