Color theory is based on the three primary colors (red, blue, and yellow), which cannot be created by mixing other colors. When primary colors are mixed, they produce secondary colors: red plus blue equals purple, blue plus yellow equals green, and red plus yellow equals orange. Adding white to a color creates a tint (lighter version), while adding black creates a shade (darker version). The CMYK color model (cyan, magenta, yellow, key/black) is used in printing, and saturation refers to the intensity or purity of a color.

[music] You'll be forever.
>> [music] [singing] >> With God's help, we become unstoppable.
With God's help, [music] everything is possible. All of the accomplishments are remarkable. Others can't hate, but they still can't stop it, though. We move forward. Never ever stumble. With God blessing us, we still humble. and through the struggle [music] and all of the trouble.
>> Good morning and welcome to INC Radio Washington DC. This morning we will be playing a couple games. Um, but I do want I did want to bring someone with me to play a fun game. Um, someone I know that can be very colorful and artistic.
So, I think she's just right for for this game. Um, I'd love for her to introduce herself.
>> Hello. Good morning, everyone. I'm Sister Amarie from Temple Hills. Happy to >> represent. Yeah. So, as you can see, even though she's wearing black this morning, look how colorful her wall is.
[laughter] >> So, [clears throat] before we proceed, let's greet our early birds in the chat.
So we have Ann joining us in the chat as well on air and on the live chat. We have brother R.J. and sister Audrey from Quanico. We have sister Janet from Waldorf. We have brother LJ Perez from uh LA Lac.
Uh we have brother A. Stapong from Anna Rando. Sister Michelle Santos and brother Sydney Santos. Good morning po.
and Sister Relle and Brother Brian. So, I'm excited for today's chat to to fire up the chat. Um, yeah. So, before we we proceed with our games, I actually want to talk about color because I love color actually. I don't know if you can tell with my bright colors right now. Um, I want to ask Ann, what's your favorite color?
>> My favorite color is actually pink. like on my desk, my whole setup is everything is pink, >> but I don't wear it as often.
>> I think that's me, too. My favorite color is blue, but I don't wear it often. So, it's like sometimes it doesn't even go with your uh skin tone as well. I feel like that's a big part of it too with your outfits. Yeah.
What's What's the color you like to wear?
>> Black. [laughter] just like is it obvious?
Okay, let's let's also um invite the chat to talk about their favorite color.
Maybe maybe they can share their favorite color. But before we get into their our actual game this morning, let's play a short and simple icebreaker. We will show a few scrambled words and we will have our panel and um uh live chat to reshuffle that word. So let's check out the first one.
Unscramble that word. Okay, >> for those just listening, we have C C L O A E T H O.
Um, I want to give a hint. It's something you eat.
>> Oh, now I see. That's a good >> You think You think you know?
>> I think I do. Okay, let's see if um our chat has any guesses.
And while we have our chat guessing, we have Sister Jane Pableta in the chat. We have Sister Ka, Brother Justin, Sister May, uh Sister Joanne.
Okay, we have guesses. Okay, I want to I want to ask Ann first.
>> Okay, your hint was really good. So, cuz like at first I couldn't tell at all, but now I think it's chocolate.
>> Ooh, yeah. Correct. And we have qu Brian guessing chocolate. Sister May, sister, sister Ka, brother LJ. Okay, let's move on to the next word.
Ooh, was.
[laughter] So, we have W I D S C H A [snorts] S.
Um, a hint.
It's also something you eat.
Did I do good shuffling these?
[laughter] >> Wait, I >> Let's see. Let's wait for the chat.
Yes.
>> If you need me to say another hint.
I don't think the chat needs a hint, though. Come on, >> man. Chat's ahead of me.
>> No, I think I got it. I think I got it.
>> Okay. What's your answer?
>> Sandwich.
>> Correct. Correct. Correct.
Okay. Next word.
V A N D E R E T U >> sounds like an alien planet.
>> Oh, yeah. It's like if you look at the word, it looks like it's something that I could that can actually be a real word.
Just give a different definition to it.
>> Oh, wait. The way you said it.
[laughter] The way you said it kind of sounds actual word >> that I cook. [laughter] >> Say it again.
>> Vanderu.
>> Say it again.
>> The flow of it is really good. I think you can actually um Sister Ka and uh Brother Al Alvin with the with the answer and sister Arlene and Brother LJ.
Our chat's pretty quick. I got to give it to him because looking at these, I probably wouldn't even get it.
[laughter] >> Do you Do you have it?
>> I think so.
>> What is it?
>> Adventure.
>> Ding ding ding ding ding.
[laughter] Okay, last word. Word. I think this is s pretty simple.
Let's see.
>> Oh, yeah. Wait, I like how it's arranged.
>> I know, right?
>> So organized.
>> Like the the two letters are just next to each other. So we have >> P K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K K A A A A C.
>> I like that. I like that. Somehow that makes me see it easier.
>> I don't know what it is.
>> Yeah, I think I think this is a pretty pretty simple one. Sister May with the answer. Sister Ka, Brother Brian.
Let's Let's see. Brother Alvin.
Okay, you have it.
>> Yes.
>> Okay, it is >> backpack.
Imagine if I'm wrong and I'm still confident.
>> Correct. Yes, that is correct. Yeah, it kind of like ties in with adventure and backpack. I mean, adventure.
So for our uh main game um it is called mix it up. Our panel will face a series of color mixing questions that will test how uh well um they really understand color from bold primaries to surprising new shades. So and I want to talk more about color again. So, um, have you ever like painted? Like what's your favorite way of like expressing like your artistic side?
>> Well, when it comes to color, I do like drawing, but actually often I don't use like I don't color stuff in, but if I use like crayons from the get-go, like I don't sketch first, then it's more fun because then you can choose like you can just make up color palettes out of nowhere. And like sometimes I draw like from drawings that I do like like if I look at paintings that I like I just take those colors cuz I don't have like even though I'm on the show right now I don't have a good sense of color like >> Oh really?
>> Matches.
>> Okay.
>> It's like it's like it I don't see it in my mind.
>> Oh okay. I want to ask the chat as well and uh Ann uh what are two colors that you usually like to match like let's say your outfit or like your pens let's say I like red and blue together for some reason.
>> Oo red and blue is nice. I like um like dark or or like orange shades with blue shades. Like dark blue shades.
>> Oo yeah, dark blue shades are pretty good too. Are you more on the like bold side or pastel or like the dark shades?
I think I'm more on the darker side because like I I feel like the lighter shades I mean like my personality is light but I'm also dark. I don't know.
[laughter] >> True.
>> Yeah. Um for me um I I started to like bold colors for some reason. Um I remember during the pandemic time there was like a trend of like so many videos being so like saturated. So, I was like, "Oh, wait. It's actually kind of nice."
Like, I was like, "That's kind of a good aesthetic." So, I kind of just uh stuck with it uh throughout the years. So, yeah. Um let's see who before we get into our game again, let's see who else is in our chat. We have sister Joanne Tamayo and brother and sister Jessio.
Good morning, po. Okay, so let's uh start with our game.
Okay. Um, for the first question, what are the primary colors? So, these are multiple choice. Just so it's it's it's easier for the chat to say a letter. So we have a blue, red, green, b red, blue, yellow, c red, blue, green, d blue, purple, green.
Do you know your primary colors?
>> I do. I do.
>> Okay, so this is a quick answer for an >> process of elimination.
[laughter] >> Um, we have brother Edwin in the chat.
He said, "Good morning, Bo." Oh, hi Paul. Uh, sister Arlene said, "Dark shades with bright colors, but I love vibrant colors." Um, we have Waldorf tuning in. Um, sister Janet said she likes gold and torquo tur toquita. [laughter] >> Gracita, sister Gracita Morris, she said good morning from Fredericksburg. Okay, we have our answers. I want to have Ann answer first. So, which letter is it?
Answer B. Red, blue, and yellow. Is that the correct?
Let's see.
Ding. I feel like we just need sound effects. Okay, so we have uh Sister Relle, Sister Ming, uh Brother LJ, Sister Ka, Sister Jing, all answering B.
And also uh uh in the chat Z I R K L E A F A R 2 3 4 saying [laughter] good morning and also saying the answer is B. Okay, the next one.
The color wheel is a square. True or false?
>> Let's answer this. And what's your answer? True or false?
>> False.
I've never seen a a square wheel.
[laughter] >> Okay, so the answer is false.
Okay, now let's get into the mixing colors.
So the next question is red plus blue. Is it purple, maroon, brown, or dark red?
>> Oh, do I answer right away? Uh yeah, you can go ahead.
>> A purple, red and blue.
>> Is that correct?
>> Am I right?
>> Purple. Correct.
>> And then wait. Yeah. For the previous uh question, we have B as the answer. I think that's a good guess. Uh which is maroon. Personally, I would think like I feel like if you add more red, maybe it'll turn into maroon. Blue items.
>> I was I was in between. I was like, technically you can make maroon out of blue and red.
>> Yeah, you can. That's a good guess.
Okay, next one.
White and red. Light red, orange, pink, or red. Does it stay the same or not?
>> This is where the theory comes in.
>> White and red.
Orange. No, I'm kidding.
>> You got it.
>> I do. If I didn't, I'd be embarrassed.
[laughter] >> Okay, so it is >> pink. My favorite color.
>> It is just for me.
>> And the next one. Next question.
Blue plus yellow. Is it green, neon blue, orange, or red? Did you ever have like a phase where you really like neon colors?
>> No. [laughter] >> I mean, maybe maybe when I was a kid, but like I don't remember.
>> That's true. Okay. Blue plus yellow. I honestly forgot about these. It's been a while since I've like learned about mixing colors.
>> What's your answer? I know a lot of people who like this color green.
The answer is green.
Okay.
>> Nice note.
>> Next one.
Red plus yellow. Is it orange, blue, green, or neon red?
>> Wow. What is neon red?
>> I know, right? Like that's a shade.
[laughter] >> Maybe if we had neon red, I'd like neon.
Wait.
Okay. Got it.
>> I know a lot of people who like this color, too.
>> Yeah. Um, orange.
>> Correct. Yeah, orange. I feel like lately it's been a color that's like not trending but people I think I'm start like my friends like people I know of they're starting to really like um bright colors because back then like let's say like 10 years ago it like the neutral colors were very popular but now like >> we're bringing the color back.
>> You got that pop.
>> Yep.
>> Okay.
Uh, Lionel said orange. Glad I said yellow.
>> And then, "Brother Don, sister Lisa, your hair is orange." I know, right?
>> Oh my gosh. Right in front of me.
[laughter] >> Okay, the next one. This is more on the I guess difficult >> part I would say. Uh, a mixture of a color with black is what? Value, shade, tint, or saturation?
>> Wow, this is taking me back to art class for real now.
>> I know, honestly. What is value? Again, [laughter] >> I don't remember. I just know the answer to this question. Can't tell you what the other ones are. I only know these uh uh terms because when I'm editing my pictures, I see them pretty often, especially like saturation and like Yeah, >> I love bumping up the saturation.
>> Yep.
>> It makes it look like a summer movie.
>> Yeah.
Okay, we have Sister Ka. She said, we have two answers. We have shade and tint. Okay. Yeah, these make sense.
These two make sense because like when you think of black cuz like tint could be like your car tint. It's pretty dark.
>> That's true.
>> Oh, what's your guess?
>> I'm in between those two now cuz like >> Oh, the chat kind of confused me.
>> But our teacher is going to be so upset with me. This is a basic thing. We have sister Ka saying B, Sister Joseph, Sister Joanne, Sister Jing, Brother LJ, and uh uh sorry I I don't know your name po in the chat. Uh uh but the ZZ name po [laughter] if you can let us know your name po. Um they all said C.
>> So let's see the answer. Wait, no, let's not see the answer first. I want to have Ann guess.
>> Okay, I'm going to stick with my original answer and I think it's B. It's a shade.
>> Sister May also said B. Let's see.
>> Stay. Those are good guesses though. It makes sense why uh C could be like a good guess. Okay, let's go to the next one.
>> Oh, now I need to know what tint is.
[laughter] >> Tint. A mixture of a color with saturation, a mixture of a color with shade, a mixture of a color with white.
>> Oh goodness.
>> Now I don't know for real. I might get it wrong.
>> Let's Let's ask uh the chat. Let's wait for the chat if they have any guesses.
H >> shade.
>> So that is kind of confusing from the previous questions cuz cuz if we said that uh a mixture with black is shade.
Oh, I crossed out a letter for you.
>> Oh, that's true. That's true.
>> What's the answer?
>> No, I don't know. I still don't know.
>> We have C.
We have C. Guesses from Sister May, Sister Ka, Sister Just, uh, Sister Jing, Brother LJ.
Um, we have B from Sister Angela. Um, C from Brother Alvin. We have a lot of C's in [clears throat] the chat.
What's your guess?
I think I think I'm running with the chat. I feel like it's C.
>> Okay, let's C.
Okay, >> correct.
>> Let's go chat.
>> Thanks for your help.
>> Okay, next question.
>> And we have brother Chris. Thank you both for telling us your name. We have brother Chris. He guessed B. Okay. What does CM Y K stand for?
Uh, how do you say >> cyan?
Cyan. Cyan. I knew I was right. I just wanted to test you out. Like I just wanted to test your knowledge.
[laughter] >> So cyan, maroon, yellow, ki, cyan, magenta, yellow key color magenta, yellow kiwi.
Kiwi could be like a term that we don't know.
>> I know.
>> Never assume you know everything.
>> Yeah, exactly.
>> Do you know this?
>> I I think so. This is like what's on the printer.
>> I was about to say that. Yeah, I see it pretty often when I'm printing something out.
>> Do we have a lot of guesses? They're all saying B.
Are they correct?
Let's see.
>> Yeah, me too.
>> Honestly, I feel like the maroon would have confused me though, but >> you know, I guess that's the basic thing.
>> It is.
>> Next one.
What is value? The scale of lightness to darkness. Color unity. The colors of the color wheel.
>> Wow.
>> I remember we actually thought we actually I actually asked this earlier.
I was like, "What is value?"
>> What is value? Like price.
>> What is the value of color?
Um value.
>> I think this is like making me remember actually what the art basics are.
>> And then we have brother brother Lina. He said, "Random question.
How do you pronounce crayon?
>> Crayon.
>> Crayon.
Is there another way to pronounce it?
Cray.
>> Some people pronounce it like crayon.
>> Crayon.
>> Cran. Yeah, they have that like the accent to >> crayon. Crayon.
>> That's wrong. I'm just kidding.
>> Crayon or crayon.
>> Crayon. That's a >> And then we have brother Justin. I B. I know this because I handle the printer maintenance at work.
>> Okay. And then some guesses of what is value. We have sister ka, sister May, sister Angela, brother LJ, sister Arlene, sister Janet, sister Jing all saying A. But we also have sister Jess saying B, and brother Chris saying B.
Those are good ones cuz value unity.
>> I value unity.
>> You got to value unity.
>> Exactly.
>> And then said she said the way she pronounces it is cray crayon.
>> Crayon. Like on my crayon.
>> Crayon. I think I don't know how but I I kind of I know what what Lionel was like asking because there's there's people that pronounce things.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Um, and then let's see the answer. Is it A or B?
A. The scale of lightness to darkness.
Okay, next question.
And then Lionel also said, um, I asked my co-workers and I got crayon crayon and crown, but I pronounce it crayon.
>> Crown is weird.
>> I know. Like you're just >> I want to hear someone. I want to hear [laughter] I want to hear someone say that like naturally because like I don't believe it.
>> I know, right? Like you're not reading the word at this point.
>> Yeah. What are letters?
>> And then for this one, you can make red, yellow, and blue by mixing certain colors together.
>> Oh, >> wait. What colors make red?
>> Makes you think. Makes you think.
>> Sister Joanne Tamaya said true. Sister Angela said fall. Sister May said true.
>> And then brother Chris says he says crane. C R A N E. Crane.
>> Wow.
>> I'd love to hear everyone say this.
Actually, >> send your send your voice recordings.
[laughter] >> Voice recordings. Okay. We have false.
Oh, we have true from brother LJ.
Uh false from sister Ka. False from Sister May.
Let's see. What's your answer?
>> I think it's I think it's false because if they're like the primary colors, that means maybe like you can't like they're just they're OG, you know? You can't you can't make them out of something.
>> She said OG. You can't replace them.
[laughter] You can't mix colors to make them.
Okay, let's see. Answer is False.
That's not true. Yeah.
>> Yeah. Okay. And then let's see. Is this the last question?
>> I think it is. Okay. Last question. What does saturating a color do?
Changes the intensity of the color.
Makes the color disappear. Changes everything to the color red.
You can't make red. But what if a saturation can make the color red, >> right?
>> I talked about this too earlier, like using saturation on your pictures. So that >> if you make photos, maybe you maybe you know what is.
>> While we wait for the chat, let's see other comments.
Brother Justin says he says I either say crayon on cray unron o n >> crayon crayon >> crayon >> okay wait crayon crayon >> I mean it's sort of the same >> at least it's not like crown >> I know [laughter] I'm not saying crown I know my letters >> okay we have answers in the chat.
They're all saying the same. Um, they're saying, "Oh, wait. Before before we we ask the last I mean say the last answer, uh, what's your answer and >> I think it it's a it changes the intensity."
>> We also have brother Chris is saying B makes the color disappear. Oh, that's a good guess. Let's see the answer.
It's a changes the intensity of the color. Oh, okay. That was the last question.
Thank you for playing with us and and also the chat. That was very fun actually. I like I like seeing the guesses and also the different comments of the chat. Um, but before we let you go, do you have any special greetings?
